Go on your spiritual path

Stress arises from attempting to overcome problems with one-sided power. The world's troubles are inherent and perpetual, like a horse frightened by the noise of the generator it needs for water. One must find sustenance amidst the noise. Human nature is the core, unsolvable problem; even divine incarnations did not solve it for the majority. Accept what comes, but do not give up. We hang by a thin thread in God's hand. All thoughts and tensions originate within. The spiritual path, particularly yoga practice, fosters awareness and inner peace. Simple techniques like acupressure or repeating a focused mantra can release stress. Practice with certainty and patience, without hurry.

"The human is the problem. This problem is born with the human, and so it will continue."

"All that is coming, all kinds of thoughts, are within us, not from outside."

Time waits for no one, and karma will not leave anyone. This is one hundred percent certain. We are in the middle of it all, but we will come through. We were speaking of tensions and stress. The cause of this stress, as I told you, is one-sided power. One tries to forget or overcome certain problems or difficulties. So, first, become aware of your own life and be aware of your limitations. It is said that even God will come to this earth, yet its problems will not be solved. Whenever God incarnated, something became better, but not for the majority. All twenty-four incarnations, or what we call Jesus or other prophets, could not solve the problem. The human is the problem. This problem is born with the human, and so it will continue. There is one story Gurujī told many times. A man was riding on the back of his horse. A farmer had a water pump powered by a diesel engine. The horse was very thirsty, so the rider brought it to the farmer and said, "My horse is thirsty. Can you give it water?" The farmer opened a pipe. Water began to flow into the earth, into the sand, but a little pooled so the horse could drink. The horse was thirsty, but as soon as the farmer started the generator, it made a noise and the horse was frightened. It would not drink. The owner said, "Please, can you stop the generator for a while?" The farmer stopped it. The noise ended, but so did the water. The owner asked again, "Can you start the pump, please?" He started the generator. It made a loud tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk, and the horse shied away again. This happened several times. When the generator stopped, there was no water. When it ran, the noise frightened the horse. This is the world. If you want to get everything, you must get it amidst the noise of the generator. If you stop this generator, there is nothing; you will die. Therefore, understand the situation of the world. Let it go as it is. It will develop more and more. Every day, new ideas come. Many complications arise. Many different laws are made, creating so many difficulties. It will reach a point where many people, facing no money, no work, so many rules and illnesses, will take their own lives. Humans create their own troubles. Can we not live in harmony? Why do we criticize others? Why do we blackmail others? Why do we put somebody in trouble? This is Kali Yuga. But Satya Yuga was also not as happy as you think. There were big problems with Rākṣasas and Devas. Remember the churning of the ocean? It was Satya Yuga, and you know how much fighting there was between heaven and hell. All the time, there was death. That is why we should try to understand. Let come what comes, and let go. But we should not give up. Perhaps it is a very thin thread, but we are hanging on it. This thread will pull us to Brahmaloka. Dīn bandhu dīnā nāt, mērī dōrī tere hāt. O Lord of the meek, the my thread on which I am hanging is in Your hands. God, will You sometime pull this thread toward You? We are all hanging on these threads. We are like puppets. But we shall know that we are puppets of God, of the Satguru. So we shall work on our depressions. It will not happen in one day, or five days, or twenty years, or fifty years. If you have a problem and there is a capable person, you ask for help. If the person says, "Yes, I will do it for you," that is it. Do not go and ask again and again, "Can you help me, please? Will you help me, please?" Then this person may become a little angry. So do not cry every day here and there. Become aware. All that is coming, all kinds of thoughts, are within us, not from outside. We have to awaken that awareness in everyone, that we shall go on the spiritual path. Only that spiritual path can create peace in the world. Now, in this time, yoga is something that will change the world. Not millions, but billions of people are practicing yoga. Let us say 20% are nonsense; they are making nonsense theater. But 80%, you can say, are here to save the world, and it will grow more and more. The time has come that yoga has brought light into human consciousness. Become aware. It does not matter if you believe or not in God, or in some religion. But practicing yoga—āsanas, prāṇāyāms, only āsanas and prāṇāyāms—and relaxation will change your life positively. Because when we practice āsanas and prāṇāyāms peacefully, we are one with ourself. And being one with our self means we are one with God. He is with us. So keep on practicing, doing, being aware. Everyone wants to come to God quickly, but do not hurry. That trade is in His hand, and definitely He will bring you one day. Kabīrdās wrote many beautiful bhajans. There is one book, the waiver of God, meaning God's bhajans. When you are knitting socks or a cap, these ladies are doing it, striking in the streliki. They are sure they will be successful, so they continue. That is why we have this bhajan. So, certainty. If you are a little in doubt—"Should I or should I not?"—you will lose time. Make aware thyself what you want. And do not think that you put a seed of a fruit in the earth and tomorrow you will have the fruits. It has its own time. When someone has tension or stress, there is a point in yoga nidrā when we are relaxing. We call it the temple. Now, take these two fingers—the thumb and index finger—and place them on the muscle between the cheek and jaw. Hold it. Now, bite your teeth as if chewing something. You will feel the muscle tense. Relax your teeth and rotate these two fingers with a little pressure, massaging. Ten times clockwise, and ten times anticlockwise. Then relax. This sends a message to your brain center. It releases a lot of tension, and also helps those with a headache. It is like a mantra. Repeat a few times. If you are sitting in your office at a computer and feel tense—nowadays they call it burnout; you are not burned, there is no coal or ash—put your elbows on the table, sit, and do this massage for a while. Close your eyes. Immediately, your stress will release. The second point is like acupressure. It is near the roots of the nose, at the eyebrows. With both thumbs, close your eyes and gently massage there ten times clockwise, ten times anticlockwise. Then only press gently—press and release, press and release—for two minutes. The third technique: make a shape like an upside-down letter 'V', as in 'Victoria'. Use your middle finger or any finger with more strength. Start from the root of the nose and slowly, while massaging, bring it down along the nostril until you touch the root of your corner tooth. Do this on the left and right. Also, eleven times. After closing your eyes and taking a few deep inhales and exhales, your stress will release. No tablets, no injections, no therapies, no hours of meditation. How easy it is. There is another way to release stress with meditation: remember your mantra. Practice your mantra. Concentrate, and your stress is gone. You become thyself. That is very easy. But some people do not want a mantra; some do not believe in it. Someone says, "It is not my religion, not my culture." There is a very neutral mantra that will release your tension. How easy it is! This was the technique of one of the yogīs, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. First, he said, of course, a mantra is best. But there are some people, so-called intellectuals—lost ones. So, sit straight and close your eyes. Relax. Concentrate, and now mentally repeat the mantra I will tell you. It is a mantra for those who still have not found the path, but it functions. Mentally repeat it, not loudly. I will chant loudly, and you chant with me. It is a beautiful rhythm. We go step by step: five, relax, concentrate. Now practice this mantra: one, two, three, four, five; one, two, three, four, five; one, two, three, four, five... Yes, one, two, three, four, five; one, two, three, four, five... Now repeat mentally: one, two, three, four, five; one, two, three, four, five... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... You miss the number? So that you do not miss the number: one, two, three, four, five. Besides, you do not go to Budapest, Hungary. No. Then the number is missing, so no other thoughts come. That is what Patañjali said. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... You are completely bound to it. This is a technique to release stress. Do not go somewhere for $5,000 for one or two days of meditation for stress release. Some charge $25,000 for those with big stress. They put them into meditation and have them count: you are billionaires, so 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 billions. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. It releases tensions, they go away, and then you return to your worries. Then again, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Or use your own mantra. But when you repeat your mantra, your thought is often elsewhere. If you can meditate, repeat your mantra, and concentrate on oneness, then there is no stress. So try this. Next time we meet, you may ask me, "Are you in tension?" So, you have a tension, or you are in tension? What is your intention? What kind of tension do you have? That is it. We can sing one bhajan. Āryāmī Mechā Lusā Unā Deśa Lohā Kalāyā Sabhātāyā Kekalāpanā Darā Keverā Gaṇaveśa Dharakeve Rāganave Paramechā Lusā Unādechā Nāreyam Kī Jaya Kr̥ṣṇa Gurudeva Kī Jaya Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī Viśva Gurudeva Kī Jaya Kivlokā Se Śivanā Bejā Māṇī Siddha Yogīrā Tathākī Pṛthvī Pargāye Śrī Maheśvarānand Jī Mahārāj, Juga Juga Jīvo Maheśvarānand Jī, Juga Juga Jīvo Maheśvarānand Jī, Śirḍī Dayālukha Hamārī Aśitraso Aso Juga Deva. Mādhava Kṛṣṇa Gurudeva Kī Jaya Svayī Maheśvarāṇī Viśva Gurudeva Kī Jaya. This mantra is a very hidden mantra. These five numbers are Śiva. This is the five-eyed Śiva. Oṁ Namo Śivāya. Oṁ NAMO ŚIVĀYA. This is Śiva’s number, and the best Rudrākṣa is the five-faced one. You can also give some to your friends, a nice Rudrākṣa Mālā. But today is especially... for us, the day is shining. Now our Swami Vivek Purījī will be at the microphone to close the conference. Pranam Gurudev. Hari Om, dear friends. This seminar was really great. Not only this seminar, but all these seminars from Kranje, Trilke, VEP—everywhere—were really, really nice seminars. We learn a lot of new things here. We heard a joke today with Muktānand, we heard the best definition of Nahaṁkāratā: try to be the least obstacle to the divine force working through you. In each seminar, I always have only one thought in my mind: How is it possible? We hear so many lectures from Viśva Gurujī. All the time, Viśva Gurujī tells stories in such a nice way that it is a miracle. We learn and hear a lot about divine Līlā. But we must be aware that every seminar, every hour of satsaṅg, is a divine līlā. And really, divine līlā is that we are all together here. In these days, not only in Kali Yuga, but in this month, everybody is only shopping, only in material things. But Viśva Gurujī had the strength to bring us all together in a spiritual way. Mostly, these festivals are now only material and nothing else. But through yoga, through being in satsaṅg, this festival again has a real meaning: the spiritual meaning. On the most dark day and night of the year, a new sun, a new king is born. And that is conscience; that is hope. We hear that in the future there will be so many laws, so many diseases—but it is not only the future. Nowadays we are terrified with life. If you do not have spirituality, and especially if you do not have a master, life is really saṃsāra without any meaning or sense. Everything goes only in a circle: eating, sleeping, going to the toilet; eating, sleeping, going to the toilet. There is one song in Bosnia: What does that mean? It is home, work, work, home; home, work, work, home—nothing else. In Kali Yuga, we also lose family, we lose security, and life is really not so nice. We think we have freedom. We think if I work more, I will have more freedom and joy. But in the end, we are slaves more and more. And here is a way how to not be a slave. Viśva Gurujī is teaching us how to go from being a sheep to becoming a lion. That is the most important thing. Because I have this great luck to have the closing words at this seminar: thank you, thank you so much for this moment—not only in the web, but from all these seminars, past, present, and future. God bless you.
