The friendship brings us together

Maintain cultural and spiritual harmony through yoga and compassion.

Cultural festivals should be preserved and celebrated to educate future generations. All religions contain harmony, but politics often creates conflict. Brotherhood must be created globally, respecting all faiths without negative influence. Yoga serves two aims: ensuring good health to reduce aggression and awakening inner peace. Harmony and love naturally arise in a spiritual community, not through force or transaction. True giving benefits the giver without loss, fostering positive karma. Spiritual figures often faced hardship, reminding us to see the divine in everyone and cultivate good qualities.

"Yoga has two aims. That is the science of body, mind, and soul. Yoga is for good health."

"Give or not, but you take all the karmas of that poor person, that will reflect on us."

Filming location: Strilky, Czech Republic

Praṇām Gurudev, dear brothers and sisters, dear friends. First, let me welcome you here in this divine atmosphere of Mahāprabhu Ashram in the Czech Republic, in Střílky. As it happens, today is the day which all Christians remember for what the master did for his disciples, the sacrifice he made. So, I would also like to express our gratitude to our dear master, that you dedicate your whole life, your whole time to us, to your bhaktas, to your disciples. I think I can speak in the name of all of you, that we are happy indeed to be able to spend this time in your presence. I wish all of you a very good seminar. Thank you. Let us chant first three times Aum. The glory, the glory to Śrī Alak Purī Jī Kī Jai. Slava, slava, slava Śrī Alak Purī Jī Mu. Devadhī Dev, Devī Svar Mahādeva Kī. Ārādhi Bhagavān Śrī Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī Kī. Our beloved Ārādhy Satgurudev Swāmī Madhvānandjī Bhagavān, Satyasanātan Dharma, all dear ones, spiritual seekers, brothers and sisters around the world. I think it’s not a good Friday. But it is Good Friday. Regarding the Easter celebration, what they are doing has different meanings. Every day on Facebook, there comes a different opinion or different writing from the very ancient scriptures. The festivals—it’s a culture. We shall maintain our culture. We shall maintain all our festivals. We shall maintain giving education to the children according to those cultures, spiritualities, and religions. In every religion and in every faith, there is harmony, understanding, and love among all cultures and religions. In this modern time, the religions are fighting with each other. Now, is this a politic or a religion? Is that politics which brings the fighting and conflicts among humans? For the sake of their politics, people are suffering. So, all around the world, it doesn’t matter from which country, which culture, or which religion we are. We have to create the brotherhood. When we say brotherhood, it means the sister is also connected. So, sisters and brotherhood—you may worship your religion, but don’t try to influence others in a negative way. God is one, and that is the eternal one. So it’s good to celebrate our cultural festivals, and more is maintained in a harmonious, loving, and spiritual Divine culture. That is what we are saying: the spiritual festivals. There are certain occasions, or also some festivals, fighting against the devils. That’s why all the gods who are incarnated, the twenty-four incarnations—all of them in their hands, in one hand they have blessings, and in the other hand they have the weapon. They are manifested or incarnated to protect the dharma, the religion, righteousness and all good people, and to destroy the devils. And that’s all we humans try: to make humans love each other. Let all be free. So, as you like to believe, we cannot, we should not force that you must believe this; otherwise, we will kill you, or we will put you out of the society. That should not be. So we want to work, we are working. Yoga has two aims. That is the science of body, mind, and soul. Yoga is for good health. When health is good, everyone is very healthy and happy. Then there is no aggression. And the second is to awaken the awareness in each and every human being of peace and harmony. We can bring peace. And peace begins from one’s own heart, and charity begins from one’s own family, one’s own house. So we are here all together, and how happy we are. You see, you are giving me nothing. I’m not asking for anything. And I’m giving you nothing. And you are not asking me anything for anything, but it is that harmony, that divine love, the friendship, kindness, that brings us together like the magnet and iron. So that’s why we, our Yoga in Daily Life community, are all in harmony, all friends, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives. Long ago, nearly about three decades, here in this country, Czechoslovakia at that time, a journalist interviewed me, asking why so many people are coming to yoga, and why so many women are coming. So I said, "Well, just now I realized." I didn’t think of this. But why don’t you ask them? So they asked the ladies, and they said, "Of course, we are happy to be home. In my family, we are happy, but with my husband, sometimes he is not so friendly. But when we come to yoga, all are always smiling, greeting so friendly, and all are like in oneness. So that we gain the immense harmony, peace, and health." So when we come to a Yoga in Daily Life seminar or retreat, people are gaining a lot of this harmony. So harmony, peace, happiness, relaxation, no stress—no one gives you this. You can’t buy it, but it is automatically coming. It’s a very nice energy atmosphere. So yoga, postures only, will not bring us liberation. We want to stay long and have a healthy life, and yoga and sport are different. There are many, many millions of yoga centers around the world. But they are just doing like gymnastics or something different. But when you come to Yoga in Daily Life, you understand the postures, the movements, the balance. No competitions, no challenges. It must not be that you can make the Paścimottānāsana or head standing, it must not be, but our body should be flexible and healthy. And so simple, but very effective. All our brothers and sisters around the world—just now, I came from a round-the-world trip, and the people who practice Yoga in Daily Life are very harmonious and have good health. Yoga in Daily Life is just science. The other thing is we would like to understand ourselves, our religion, or our culture, and what is spirituality, and finally, what is achievement to God. Don’t think that in ten years I will be liberated. I pray to God that in ten years you should not be liberated. I want to have you still longer. And someone said, "Now I will go somewhere else. Swamiji didn’t give me anything." So I said, "I don’t give anything. What can I give you? I’m also asking Mahāprabhujī to give me." But still, you know, the thousands of people everywhere, why do they come? Because they get something. This is a transcendental process between master and disciple, which is not visible. It is there, and it will develop slowly, slowly. Many people, many years—twenty years with me—then one day said, "I didn’t get anything." What can I give you? I can give you happiness, my happiness, my joy, my love, my understanding, but you have to develop yourself. In a very cold winter, with the sun shining, sit in the sun; automatically you will feel warm. The sun doesn’t say, "Come here in my light." But you get up from the sun and go out into the shadow. Then it is cold. So the sun doesn’t invite you, but the sun said, "I am here for you." That’s it. Now you see how much we are, our science, the science, and scientific people are gaining the light energy of the sun. The same sun is here, and as much energy as we will get, the sun loses nothing. If you take it or not, like a river is flowing, you can drink or not. And if you take a handful of water, the river will not be empty. There is one nice poem: a bird took water from the river just from the peak of the bird, one bird. The river did not lose anything. Still, the river is full, flowing. And if you give donations or you do something good, your wealth will not get little. It is said there are some people who cannot give donations. There is one, maybe a poor person or a trained person to be a beggar, standing or sitting in the street, and you don’t give anything; you just pass away. We will say these beggars, they don’t work, they will drink alcohol, they will do this. You didn’t give one coin, you did not give anything, but why do you think negative? At least think positive. Give or not, but you take all the karmas of that poor person, that will reflect on us. And if you give one coin, you lose just nearly nothing. If you give one forint, be sure God will give you a hundred forints, and the person will be happy. Okay, let’s say these people are trained to be beggars, okay? So, or, they are earning something. When you go to America, go to the coffee house or pizzeria, or restaurant, then there is written, "The tip is not included." It means that you have to give some tip. The tourist bus, the sightseeing tourist bus, where they have the sun, how, what do you call them, screen, sun screen, in front of the driver. So he keeps the screen like this, and there it is written: the tip is not included, yes, officially. And when the driver stops the bus and you open the door so you can get out, the driver is standing there. And automatically, everyone gives one dollar or two dollars according to their wish. And what the driver said, "Thank you, I appreciate it. Thank you, I appreciate it." He is not a beggar, no, and if you don’t give, he will not say anything. So something giving, it is good for us. And if someone comes and attacks you with a knife, give all your money. Will you say, "No, no"? You give it everything. Say, "Thank you, enjoy." Also good. And if you don’t give, an ambulance will come and take you to the hospital. So we save the hospital, we save the ambulance, etc., etc. So, it is said, where one person who doesn’t want to give anything, and one day, the whole house burned, and the insurance paid only 20%. But you had so much paper money in your house, not in the bank, and all that money burned. Then the police come and ask, "How much property did you have?" If you said, "I had two million dollars under my bed, black money," you will go to prison. He will not cry, but he has a problem giving something to someone. So Tulsīdās said, "Tulsī, kar par kar kar," always give your hand above this lower hand. So when someone is offering you a hand, you can give it. That is your greatness, good karma. Tulsīkār, parkārkār, parkārkārnākār, don’t become a beggar. Yes? So, but if you didn’t give, you are worse than the beggar. So, it must not be that you have to give more than what you can. But we send help, and that’s what I always used to say. The folding hands is not that worse than the giving hand. So all culture is so beautiful. Maybe it’s Slovak, or the Czech, or Austrian, or the German, or the Italian, or the Africans, or Indians, or the Middle East. They are such good people everywhere, but there are some who are creating such politics and working in the people some kind of hate towards others. So we shall try to bring peace within ourselves, in our heart. And so this festival, this what we call Good Friday, and for what is the Good Friday? What was it? Jesus was crucified. So, not Good Friday. It’s not Good Friday. You may say, I can’t say. Either I will be so sad and painful, or I will say, "God." So, God, Friday. So every incarnation in this world had a hard life, but when they went away, then all begin to cry, and we are worshiping. But when he was alive, they were throwing the stones over. That is it. So humans have to learn the spirituality that in everyone is God. We can turn iron into gold. We can turn the crow into the beautiful swan. We can turn everyone into good qualities. They have good qualities, but we don’t accept some others in our community. That means that you did not understand. And that’s why we said, the whole world, the whole world is one world. And in the Vedas it is said, "Vāsudeva Kuṭumbakam," that the whole world is one God’s family. You have a few children; every child has a little different quality, but we are all one family. And for that, we think today, we pray to the life of Jesus. It doesn’t matter how holy he was or not, but the pain, the suffering—how? If you just kill it once, the throat will suffer less. But that was not slaughtered. And it was tortured, and torture is how painful. We pray to the Almighty that no one should suffer like this. In these days, of course, many people are happy as an Easter holiday. So people took the four days of holidays, five days is also so-and-so, anyhow the holiday, so they have ten days free. Jesus said, "My children, at least due to me, you have ten days free. Yes. So, why are you not worshiping me?" He said, "I don’t need the worshipping." But we shall take His good qualities. Similarly, Rāma, Kṛṣṇa, and Buddha all had a very hard life. So, these days, then, so, the sun, in yoga, and you know the science of cakras and kuṇḍalinī, and cakras and kuṇḍalinī is not a religion, is not a tradition, it is not that spirituality. But it is that science of the human body, mind, and soul. And so, for example, the solar plexus in our navel, we call the solar plexus. And now, when you are driving from here to Brno, on the right side you will see in one field so many panels, and that’s called a solar panel. And solar plexus—so they imitated this modern science from the yogic science of the navel, where it is the solar plexus, where... Life begins, and where does life end? So, for each and every creature, for each and every plant, and for each and every grain of sand, is full of solar energy. It means the sun energy. I told you many times, and it was about 10, 15 years ago, it was in the newspaper, I read that, it was in a German paper, and the Germans, they are very correct in everything, even, I don’t want to go further. And there was one family, and the whole family had so many diseases and allergies. So they went once for holidays to a farmer’s house, and the farmers made some rooms. So the tourists come and somehow they earn a little money. And children, they all were working on the farms where the cows are. And you know how children are, without shoes and walking in dirt and cow dung and everywhere. And husband and wife, they were also working with this. In one week, allergy disappeared, two weeks. All kinds of allergies finished. They are so healthy and happy. They came home and they wrote this. So many, many people went, and they are going there to the farmers’ houses. And farmers are happy, and people are happy. Also, when we walk without shoes and socks for half an hour or one hour, or we work karma yoga in the summer in our organic garden, with the hands and without shoes. This is a retreat for us, for our good health. Don’t say, "We pay money and we are working here, we don’t want this." We will charge more now. Who will go to work in the garden? Because you get double benefit: yoga, lectures, working in the gardens, and eating. So this year, we will all, for half an hour, have to work in the garden, anywhere, under the apple trees. Or where you are doing your yoga exercises, without socks, without shoes, get the touch on Mother Earth and the water. So water and earth and air, these three elements have loaded the solar light, so that’s called the fire element. Our earth, our water, and our air, these are the three elements. The fourth is the fire, the solar energy, and the fifth is the space where we are existing. In this way, in the summer, we will have many beautiful, beautiful programs to learn, and we will learn more and more. So every time we learn new, and lucky are we, but think positively, that’s very, very important. Yes. One day, just last time when I was in India, a little boy was coming. I had a little money and I gave him ten rupees. He took it and ran, and he went to his mother. "I got ten rupees. I got ten rupees." The happiness of that young boy may... The boys, the children, should not go as beggars. But the happiness of that boy, the child. So make happiness, make happiness. And don’t take away someone’s happiness; that’s very important. To steal, don’t do this. So there are many, many things we will do further. And now we have one beautiful video, and that we will see tomorrow here about Holy Gurujī’s video, and it is in many, many languages. I think it was, how many languages? Twelve languages. So I am sure that one of the takeaways you will know out of here. And there is also video from Gurujī’s, I think it is about 33 years old. And now we will have our other program, and the webcast will be tomorrow. My dear ones, all blessings to you, all the blessings of our paramparā. And yes, get ready for the Himalayas. I’m a teacher.
