Open and relax your Vishuddhi Chakra

A guided meditation on the Viśuddhi Chakra for purification. Relax the body and feel the breath. The true Self is one with the entire universe, beyond the duality of the mortal body and immortal consciousness. Observe the body without identifying with it; use prāṇa to purify and overcome discomfort. Practice subtle contraction and relaxation with the breath to awaken energy along the spine. Focus awareness on the major energy centers: the navel, the heart, and the throat. The Viśuddhi Chakra is a critical border; its imbalance disorders the body's trunk. Physical postures, breath control, and sound vibration purify this center. The poison of unspoken words and negative emotions is held here. Maintain a single spiritual guide and practice consistently to release this tension and achieve balance.

"The Self, the Self is one. I am, I am, I am that, and that I am. We are all oneness."

"Viṣ means poison. Siddha means purifying... The poison of the anger of the humans, the poison of not speaking—you are swallowing everything."

Relax. Relax the entire body from the toes to the top of the head, and from the top of the head down to the toes. Feel your body. It is motionless and comfortable. Relax and feel your breath. I know that I am inhaling, and I know that I am exhaling. Relax. Feel with the breath the expanding and contracting of your trunk. Feel the body’s breath flowing from both nostrils through the lungs, the whole diaphragm expanding until the abdomen relaxes. Now, bring your awareness to your attention. I am one with myself—body, mind, and consciousness. Relax, relax. My real self is in my inner world. The whole universe is within myself, and I am one with the whole universe. Relax, relax. I am myself the whole universe. I am oneness, without duality. The dualities, the forms, all different creatures, all different humans—they are all just in the form. But the Self, the Self is one. I am, I am, I am that, and that I am. We are all oneness. When I see on the earth many, many forms and objects, but when I look within, we are one. Relax, relax the whole body, and now turn your awareness towards your physical body. Everyone, the body is mortal, but thyself is immortal. Therefore, it is duality. But check your body: over your heart, your skin, the hair, the skin, the nerves, flesh, the glands, organs. All the joints and bones are beautiful in oneness as thy body, from the toes to the top of the head, and from the top of the head to the toes. If there is any point in the body where there is pain or unpleasantness, anything which you think is illness or different feelings of pain, observe. You are not the body; you are above it. And with your prāṇa—prāṇa means your energy, with the breath—this breath, this prāṇa, you can purify yourself and overcome all pain. Feel the muscles of your perineum. With inhalation, you are contracting and relaxing. At the time of exhalation, also contract. It’s a very fine, very fine feeling when you contract your anus muscle, then through the whole spine, a very nice sensation, energy coming to the top of the head. When you are releasing the contraction, again the energy is flowing through the spine. Have a normal breath. Do not give some pressure. Just natural. Contract, relax. Do not hold the muscles contracted, and do not hold the muscles relaxed. Let’s go smoothly with the breath. That is the seat of that Kuṇḍalinī, and that awakening of that energy is moving, ascending and descending with the inhalation and exhalation. Be relaxed. Don’t go out of the world. Don’t go out of this, your body. You have everything, everything. The entire universe, the mountains, the whole earth, the forest, the ocean, etc., is you, yours. And so, 8.4 million creations are within thyself. Relax within thy body, relax. Now feel the bottom of the abdomen, the Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra, that’s about one inch above the bottom of the spine. At the navel, that is the center of your body, your breath, your awareness, the residence of that soul, the nectar. Feel the expanding and contracting of your stomach at the navel. The energy is standing. The energy is coming to the heart, the center of the chest, your emotion in the form of happiness, joy. And at the same time, the fear, tension, conflict, and stress depend on you, how you will release them, and what is happening in the body. The heart is very sensitive, very sensitive. Everything—happiness, joy, good feelings, divine feelings, relaxed, etc.—is in the heart, or tensions, fears, etc. And the second other step is the Viśuddhi Cakra, that is the border, that is a border. The border of the Viśuddhi Cakra is the soldier standing there; it will not let go any harmless fear, etc. It will bring it out again. But if Viśuddhi Cakra is not balanced and under control, all the organs in the trunk of the body will be in disorder. Control your Mūlādhāra, contraction and relaxing. Contract and relax, which is called Aśvinī Mudrā, a connection with the Viśuddhi. Above the Viśuddhi, there are many chakras, glands, etc. We will come after a while. Feel the whole body. You are wherever you are looking or feeling; there is only you. Everything is within thyself. I am myself. I am myself. Relax. Relax and feel the breath between the chest and nostrils. I know that I am inhaling, and I know that I am exhaling. Relax, relax, just relax. Now concentrate on the four centers. The navel—place your left hand on your navel. Day and night, anywhere, this navel is constantly in action and keeping your life. The heart balances the emotions. It keeps in a balance, so you are always happy, or you have some fear, sweating, nervousness, confusion, etc. And the third is in the vocal cord, and the fourth is in the Sahasrāra Cakra in our brain. I will tell you which sound we shall do. A, alphabet, A, A, U, M. These are four: the navel, the heart, the throat, and the vocal cords. Viśuddhi, the throat, and M, the whole brain. About 60% of your resonance goes out, 60 to 70%. The rest goes back into the whole body. Then comes the light and feelings in our heart. First, I will chant, and then I will tell you. Now we do together. Keep your eyes closed. Be relaxed. Keep your hand on your navel. I will chant first three times, and then I will tell you. All together, inhale, ah, seven times, continue, the third one, be thyself, no concentration or imagination, just be thyself, feel the whole body, relax your whole body, place both hands on your knees or on your thighs, comfortable, relaxed. Slowly, move your fingers, close the fist, stretch your arms on the shoulders, from shoulders to the knees, release the fingers, open the palm, again, close the fist and open, close, fold your hands and rub your palms till they become very hot, place your hands on the face, in your palm, open your eyes, move your palms, place your palms on the ground, slowly bend forward, and touch your forehead to the ground. Feel the stretching of the back muscles and feel the blood circulation to the whole face muscles, the blood towards the whole brain, releasing the tension from the neck, place your hands on the ground, place your palms on the ground, slowly bend forward and touch your forehead on the ground, feel the stretching of the back muscles and feel the blood circulation to the whole face muscles, the blood towards the whole brain, releasing the tension from the neck, place your hands on the ground. Slowly bend forward and touch your forehead on the ground. Feel the stretching of the back muscles and feel the blood circulation to the whole face muscles, the blood towards the whole brain, releasing the tension from the neck, place your hands on the ground with little weight, and slowly raise your head up and hands. Hari Om. So this was the meditation for the fifth chakra, called the Viśuddhi Cakra. This is the Viśuddhi Cakra. Every chakra has its own symbol. Everything is very clearly given in this book, where you can read, and the translation is there. Viṣ means poison. Siddha means purifying. There are many different kinds of poison. There is poison of the animals, poison of the snakes, poison in the plants, poison in humans, poison in the words of the humans. The poison of the anger of the humans, the poison of not speaking—you are swallowing everything. Mahāprabhujīp Karatā Mahāprabhujīp Karatā. Be aware, when you go for a walk in the bush, then don’t look at the sky all the time. But first, especially in an Australian bush walk, our eyes should mostly be between five meters and our feet. The distance is also about five meters left and five meters right. There are some small creatures, and we also need a good awareness. So the viṣ means poison. There are different stories also. When the devils and devas, all the times they are fighting in the heaven. I don’t know where heaven is, who heaven is, or who is there. It is within ourselves, and we don’t know who is a devil and who is not. But when the action comes, at that time, there is such an energy or dirtiness, etc. Even if they want to kill you with a gun, with this, with the holding, etc., etc. And so, if one goes to the devils, one will get also like this, or that devil will be killed. And sometimes they are so pressed by others and take you into their group and make you do something, and if not, then you are also the victim of killing. Therefore, it’s called two societies, and that’s called Kuṣaṅga and Satsaṅg. There is one seed, and we put one seed in the earth. It comes, sprouts, and has two leaves. And these two leaves from this one seed, one is called Kuṣaṅga. It will go in the wrong direction. Sorry. And when that branch is going in the wrong direction, it is better to cut it off before. The other one is called Satsaṅg, the good way, good qualities. So, Kuṣaṅga is leading us to disaster. Many, many negative things, fear, this, that, you can’t, a person cannot sleep. And the other is divine, happy. Everyone, when they see you, they are so happy with you, and you are happy with them because it is a positive society. So, Kuṣaṅga is a path to distraction. Satsaṅg, the path to the divine, the happy, negative, positive, etc. Now, the roots are there. The father is the one. And this is that in the Mahāśivabhārata’s Mahāśivapurāṇa is written this completely about from one ṛṣi who had thirteen wives. I think there was all the time more women, I don’t know. Perhaps when Mohammed was there, and there was a war, and many, many males were killed. Mahāprabhujīp Karatā Mahāprabhujīp Karatā. The quality of the devil and the other one got a son. He was very humble and kind. That’s what the Devas, God is. So this is a story there. It is not a joke, not a fairy tale. There was the time, and we still believe in one family. One is worshipping Kṛṣṇa, one is worshipping Rāma, one is worshipping Divine Mother, one is Hanumānjī. He is one, worship his mother, father, etc. But in all families, they are in oneness. Five fingers, they have their own function. But when they are all together, all are in one. Yes? That’s it. And there is strength, the family strength. When we are giving the kick, they are strong. But if only one, maybe the finger, it breaks. Next story is a different way now, okay. I come back. So, one is the Devas and one is the Rākṣasas, and they completely begin to fight everything. The stories, maybe I will tell you one day completely after. Now, Śiva, Śiva is no one who has created him. He is manifesting himself with all five elements. He has no mother, no father, no one. He is the first one, and when creation began, the devils and the goddess, Śiva, gave the balance in their fighting and kept them at a distance. So, the negative is going to the ku-saṅga. So, what is a ku-saṅga? Negative society. Satsaṅg is very beautiful. All people can come together, all religions, all countries. Everyone is in friendship; it is very good. So, there are two letters only, two alphabets. It’s called Ku and Saṅgha. Ku means negative, and Sat means the pure society. So, there it begins like this. This branch is going that side, and this branch is going that side. Similarly, we have within, in you, your wife and your husband are in your body. Your husband and your wife are in you, so we are all together inside. But physically we are separate, and there, one is always dominating. Others give up and say, "Okay, and okay, and okay." Sometimes, nowadays, women get divorced and go away, or the husband will get divorced and go away, but still, something remains. And that poison, which I mentioned, that kind of poison from the behavior of some person, or partner, or the children, or the parents, is like this in Kali Yuga. And that one will say, "Okay, husband will talk, and you are this and you are this." The wife is peaceful, and she is cooking, and this and okay. But that is a poison of that man or a poison of the woman. They are also not all the time goddess, you know. She can be like a lion, you know. The male lion is tired. But the female lion, when she takes the action, Purījī, Purījī... Now, from the bottom of the anus until this part of the Ājñā Cakra, someone gets different kinds of disease. Someone has constant constipation, and constipation is because you are swallowing all these behaviors of others, and you think it doesn’t matter, and you are all the time... Mahāprabhujīp Karatā He Kevalam Mahāprabhujīp Karatā He Kevalam... Similarly, the second chakra, the Svādhiṣṭhāna, is associated with what we call the emotions and the sexual desires. Either you fulfill, or you can’t, or this and that. And there is this also, the cancers or some problems. When we hold back too much, then our navel, the pancreas, that attacks. And when that attacks, mostly doctors said, "One, two weeks, or two, three months, that’s all." That is a life there, this one, and we cannot operate out. In the brain we can do something, but not there. That is a very, very close, our soul there and our nectar there. Similarly, Anāhata Cakra, with the lungs, with the heart, or with the asthma, etc. This is what we take in our inner, and it’s going generation to generation, generation to generation. And another one now, we came to the Viśuddhi Cakra. Viṣ means poison, and there is mostly we have a tension here. Sometimes this part is red. Sometimes you cannot swallow. So, there are many things you try to, not so much your action, but it’s coming from here. And there are again two places for the women, and one is very strong on the avatarite. And so that tension, that poison, according to the yogic science, according to the Kuṇḍalinī, this is the cause of that. How to release? We do the prāṇāyāmas. We do the āsanas. There are particular āsanas. Meditation. And you should have a mantra from your master. And master, you cannot change. Now, today you will tell me, "I am pleased, you become my master." And next week comes another one, and you said, "Can I have that master?" That is, again, you will have your ear part. Thauraite becomes visible. Therefore, carefully, you have only one father, but he can be your uncle, he can be everything. We have to respect everyone, but the father is a father, and the mother is a mother. All women are our mothers; they are our sisters. Everyone is like our child, but that one seed is the mother, and that is your mother. And if you have some kind of dispute or something between mother and daughter or mother and son, it will attack our thoracic gland. So, the Viśuddhi Cakra you have here, you have to read this, and this book you should read. If you don’t like it, you can give it back. Read it, read it, and then give it back. We will give it to someone. But for every day, when in your office your colleagues make some kind of disputes, look in this book, look in this. That is for the thyroid gland. It came automatically; I didn’t open it. This āsana, this posture, is here. So, Yoga in Daily Life is a scientific system. It has been declared scientific by a few countries with doctors. So, this you have to practice. It is not that you have to now stretch this and that, up and down. That’s okay, but we have to take care of our body in different ways. So, Viśuddhi Cakra. So this is coming in our, holding our throat, and there are two kinds of self-murder. One is hanging up, and the second is whole. Your whole life you are suffering with this. Open it, relax it. So how is that? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Both hemispheres should have balance in every action. And Sanskrit language is that. So there are few languages in this world. Otherwise, they are all, but only one side. In the dream, you are dreaming or talking with both hemispheres. Writing is with both hemispheres. Singing is with both hemispheres. Talking in both hemispheres. Music making just is both hemispheres, so that is a balance. Balance, so it is made experiment that you get 52 alphabets, and you sit down and look, and now you should chant: A, A, E, E, U, U, E, I, O, AU, AṂ, A. Then you go further to the mātrās, etc. A, Ā, E, Ē, U, Ū, E, I, O, AU, AṂ, Aḥ. So we have to change 52. You will see what changes come in your consciousness. What will happen? Do it for one month. If you don’t like it, then give it up. But you have to do it in the morning. Get up. Wash yourself. And this takes only two to three minutes. If you do it nicely, then it takes a long time. This is what we were chanting, this Oṃ. You did not listen before that. And if you have any tensions, any stress, hold your hand like the cobra. And then you hold your, yes, make a hole of the palm here. Eleven times, and then hands down. Just relax. Don’t concentrate on anything. Just be thyself. You will see how much your memories, your concentration, your stress is gone. It is a technique of the chakras. They are here, everything, not outside. And so the Viśuddhi Chakra is a very powerful chakra, and we have to come. Otherwise, you can neither go up nor go down. You are stuck there. And therefore, there are mostly thyroid problems or something in the throat. Of course, I don’t want to say only this. There are other different reasons the cause could be. Purījī, Purījī... It is physical, it is mental, it is awareness in our concentration. So, body, mind, and soul are involved in all the exercises we are doing. So these postures in your "Yoga in Daily Life" book, every posture has been carefully written, we were doing. So, in the country, it was the Soviet Union. I was there for 20 years teaching yoga. After that, the communists also released everything. There are many, many practitioners in the whole Soviet Union. So, we were with the doctors, scientists, physiotherapists, etc. About five different doctors and one yogī. And we were working on this book, so do not stretch too much. You are young. The young girls and boys are doing the whole leg like this, you know? But not the hand, the leg. Like this. Okay. But after some time, or when you get a child, you will have problems in your hip joints. So, we are not in the circus that we can do acrobatics. We can do it. We are very nice, this hall, no? Oh, that is good. We can rent them. They can come all the way from this, your, what they call the circus, no? Yes, can we do it? But yoga is a gentleman. You have to keep your body so fine, so relaxed, and when you do too much, then some glands will suffer, some nerves will suffer. You are strong, you are young, it’s okay, but after the age of 75, then you will do only your self-massaging, because there is nobody else who will massage you. Your wife will say, "I can’t massage you anymore." Yes. So take your body as divine. We should practice. There are, we can do, we can do Śīrṣāsana, we can do many, many, even there is a hand standing, also in your yoga book, but hardly somebody comes to that chapter. But this subject now is a chakra, Viśuddhi Chakra. Evening, we will do something and have questions and answers about this problem of our shoulders, our throat, our thorax, etc. Thank you. I wish you a very nice day and a good lunch. Enjoy. Om, we will sing now, okay? Aum, Śānti, Śānti, Ādi Om.
