Balance harmony and unity

The essence of creation and our responsibility is to understand our origin and live in harmony.

In the beginning, there was only space and consciousness. From resonance came the sound "Eko’ham"—I am alone. This vibration manifested as light and heat, creating the elements. Śiva and Śakti, the masculine and feminine energies, are united within one. All creation stems from this primordial sound. Humans now consume excessively and disrupt the earth's balance through mining and pollution, risking destruction. Yoga means union, balance, and harmony. Health requires proper nourishment, minimal eating, and avoiding artificial products. The body contains 72,000 nerves and energy centers, or chakras. Negative emotions like repressed anger affect glands such as the thyroid. Practice physical exercise, correct prāṇāyāma, and meditation to purify the nervous system and cultivate positivity. Our true self is one soul within different bodies.

"From this resonance, light is created; heat comes from the fire."

"Yoga means union. Yoga means harmony."

Part 1: The Essence of Creation and Our Responsibility Oṁ Ekam Nityam Sarvādhiṣakṣibhūtam Bhavātītam Trigunarahitam Satgurutvaṁ Namāmyaham. Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ, Śānti. Our work here, in this sacred space, is a service at the center. We come to work on ourselves. For our body, we perform physical yoga exercises; for the mind, mental exercises; and for the spirit, spiritual exercises. We aid our ritual development, working towards the Supreme. So, come and work for yourself—to purify all negative qualities. We had a subject called Kuṇḍalinī Cakra. What does it mean? This morning we spoke about this again. I will repeat a little, but not too much, as it was a half-hour talk on that one point. This ashram is neither mine nor yours; it belongs to everyone. It is for all creatures. The master, the guru... The word "Guru": "Gu" means darkness, and "Ru" means light. To understand the Guru is very easy, and yet not easy. Anyone who imparts learning is a master. The first master or guru is the mother. So, the mother should know she is the Supreme. If she cannot understand this, she acts in ignorance. Suddenly she has a child and does not know what to do. This is true not only for human mothers but for animals as well. Every birth is very hard. A bird makes a nest, a very safe place. She lays the eggs and protects them. Then the babies come. More work—running here and there to get food and feed the babies. Not just one, sometimes many. There are eight or nine eggs, all hatching, and always chichi-chichi-chichi... So, that mother is caregiving. Now, there is a question. Many times you hurt yourself when you ask a question and someone gives an answer, or someone cannot give an answer. I think today you should get the answer. We ask: who was first, the bird or the egg? For so many ages, this question has persisted. The clarity, the supreme answer, is found in yoga and knowledge, very clearly in the chakras, kuṇḍalinī, and so on. We come to this point. We do not know where our beginning is. But there are ages and ages—millions, trillions—through which different yogas have come. It is said: in the beginning, there was only nothing. Imagine we are in a forest somewhere at night, black, with clouds. It is sad only. We do not know where we are—up, down, left, right. In that space, there is nothing. Space and space. Neither I nor you. No one was there. No eggs were there. Nothing. Now, who and how did creation come? The Vedas, the very old holy scriptures, say there was no one. There was nothing. But then comes what is called resonance. Space, resonance, vibration. Where does that vibration begin? It must also have a source. Therefore, it is said: svayaṃ bhū. Svayam means itself, and bhū means that creator. What is the sound? Eko’ham—"I am alone." There is only the sound, nothing. But two things exist: space and consciousness. Yet neither this space nor this consciousness can create anything. So, nothing. The ultimate one, creating the creator—how did we not know? But it said, "I am only the one. Now I will multiply." Who, how, when, where? In that creation, there are strong boys here. How are they created? Two boys? Three? And what are they created for? They should get up, and there is a very nice sofa. Lift it, bring it for the mother to sit. Yes? That one mother, she needs a little comfortable seat. So, this is the first creation. Okay? So, this resonance is coming. Someone is talking, but we do not know why he or she is talking. Because we say mātre deva bhava. In that creation, it is called... This is what we appreciate: Mātṛ devo bhava. It means the mother is God. The mother is everything. Many mothers are here. I think some may not understand. But the mother knows what others do not know. Yes, and she is the mother of Kailāśa. So, in that is the voice. That voice is the Creator. That is called, if he said, "Eko’haṁ bahu syām"—"I am one, and I will multiply." But who said it? Nobody. Resonance. And that resonance is the light, the heat. From this resonance, light is created; heat comes from the fire. That is why Brahmā, Viṣṇu—the Lord, the Supreme Viṣṇu—he... Śiva gave him the manifestation and said, "You reside in the water, but where is the water?" So he lies there, and from his heat, he creates the water, and he is in the ocean. Anyway, we go further. So, the light, the sound, the light, and then comes the one who is called Swayam, who I am. He is called Śiva. That Śiva has no mother, no father, no sister, no brothers, nowhere, nothing. But he himself manifests from this and creates all the elements, which we spoke about this morning. We spoke about the physical body, the energy body, the mental bodies, the intellect bodies, etc. We exist within these five elements. So, then it begins. It is his energy in this, and peace begins. That is Śiva. We do not know how far back it was. Then the earth, water, and fire come into being. Then, in the water, life begins. Life is in the liquid, in the water. That is why Brahmā is the creator and Viṣṇu is the protector. Protecting where? In this water. Which water? They call it the ocean, the milky ocean. Very beautiful. So, it is from there that he created them both. He creates them both through this voice, where there are the two. That is called Śiva and Śakti. So, the half body: the left side is the feminine, the right side is the masculine. This picture is somewhere; otherwise, they can bring it. It is both in one. Now, even in the masculine, the man is seven percent feminine. It is feelings, etc. And in the body, there is seventy percent, which is as a man. That means there is an attraction to become one. It is always the one. So, from this, both energies are in our body: positive and negative. Not negative in a bad way, but what we are going to do. It is a different kind of energy. In a very wonderful samādhi, when he—this is Śiva—when he appears, then it is like a dance. Energy is everything. Before this, one hand is the Shakti and one hand is the Shiva’s energy, and then it begins. It comes in your book; you have this. So, from there is the sound. The sound. So, who created? The egg or the bird? So, neither egg nor bird. The Ṛg Veda makes the sound. And that sound has created everything. Everything is created by it. The creation, of course, coming then—immense, immense stars and many suns, many, not only one sun. There are different levels of suns. In that coming space, our sun becomes a small star; another one is bigger. Only the yogī, through meditation and kuṇḍalinī knowledge, can go further. Otherwise, this is how it is. Now, in this creation, we speak of 8.4 million different creatures. Some creatures are finished; they are not here on earth anymore. But some new things appear. It is always changing because, in every Yuga, a time will come when everything will be destroyed. All will go under the water. The earth will go down, and again the water will come over. That is called when there is a lot of sin on the earth. What we humans have done—bad, good, or not—what we are doing now is unbelievable. We are digging and digging under the mountains, for cold materials and this and that, breaking the whole corner of the mountains. You have America’s beautiful roads. One side lane is about six or seven lines; the other side also. But from where did you get all this? From sand? From where did you bring it? The number is there, but it is all brought from the mountains. Second, we are digging underground for coal, metals, etc. We are making our earth... What are we doing there? We fill the water. Then comes the petrol. How much are we sucking out? And when there is no more oil there, they let the ocean water come inside. Now, what is happening? This is the earth, and here is the water ready to take over. We have here the weight of the mountain, always keeping it so it doesn’t let the ocean away. It is simple. But when it becomes empty, it will not take time. Very quickly, what will happen? Because there is no more weight. You are gone now. With one wave, the ocean will come over. Then your child, or your father, or your wife is in the garden. She cannot come here because it is all gone in the water. There will be water, then again, Vishnu and Shiva will do something. Oh man, please do not destroy this earth; take care of it. We took the weight from here and we put it. Right here from the earth, yes, but now the balance is gone sooner or later. We are day and night working so hard—so hard we are working to destroy our planet. Only the human hand’s work is not enough, so they bring big, big machines. What one man works for a whole year, the machine does in only one day. Minds will be thinking of our money, our gold, our this, our that. Our death, everything will be... we do not know. So, the creation which was there is called the space and consciousness. Now, this consciousness cannot do anything. Any space or earth cannot do anything. They are separate. So, they have to come together. Between these two—space and the fundament—is one. What we have is called first balance, balance. Then after the balance, the union, the siblings. What it is is a harmony. Between the space, once coming together, that is called yoga. The word "yoga" means balance, oneness, harmony. This is the coming. We are in the sound, and that sound, the very first, was called the Aum. Oṁ is indescribable. You cannot define it. It has no touch of anything. It is that resonance, resonance expanding and expanding. So, yoga means union. Yoga means harmony. And yoga means... What does it mean? Balance means good health. The harmony between people and yourself, and your food and everything. Think of the balance and harmony, and remain, stay with harmony together. Do not fight; do not do it. It means also, not just with people—the trees, they are also jealous. Some trees, the later trees grow there under them, this way... Yoga means, now you understand what yoga is. So, harmony means that we practice peaceful balance. We practice good exercises and good nourishment. Someone says, "Do we live for eating, or eating for living?" So now it will say different, and we are including in... The different, how much can you? Sorry, butter, ice cream also. How much per day are we consuming? We consume per day how much water, and this and that. Also air—that is also what we need. So, in one life, how many tons do we have? Count one year, and then how many tons? I think we are consuming something, less or more, about one ton per month of air, water, eating, many, many things. Yes? Destroying. So, we people are now—let’s say, my dear—we eat two times or three times. Two times, two or three times. In our meal, we have between what we are taking in the... mouth. I was drinking fruits, nuts, this, that, and if not, then chewing gum. So, it means you have a habit. In your stomach, you have forgotten now, and at least you are taking chewing gum. And chewing gum has nothing, so it creates only disease in the stomach. Why? Because as soon as we put something in the mouth, then it is time. That is beginning something and giving order to the workers: "Put this further. This you put further." Why? We are ready; something is coming. And nothing is coming here, nothing is coming. And so you get some kind of disease in the stomach. There are many other causes, but this is also about ulcer. Do you know what an ulcer is? An ulcer comes because you do not give to the stomach, and the stomach is a fire. All these elements, out of the five elements, one is fire. This fire is in our navel. Our navel is what we call the solar plexus, and solar is the sun. From the solar plexus, our navel... You are the beginning of this; that is from the navel. After that begins our life and begins the spine, then the little organs, then the head, etc., nose, everything slowly, slowly. But the beginning is in the navel, and from there it is the fire element. If you cannot fulfill the desire of that agni, the fire, you will get disease in your stomach. First, it may be an ulcer, a kidney problem, a liver problem, something, something, mental problems, etc. Or we get the habit of eating this and eating that. That is also not good. So, this is what we humans, I think, consume more than any others. Even the animals, when their stomach is full, they will sit down. Many birds, tigers, lions—they do not eat three times a day. How many times are we eating? That is why our age, life is becoming shorter and shorter and shorter. Before, there was also a problem. They were not living properly, and this and that life was a shock. But now we have a wrong life. This life is not a life because 25% of life is lying in the hospital. 25%—how many hospitals do you have in America? Oh, my God. And so, that is life with injection, with meditation, medicine, things like that. We try to keep life. But once Swami said—Swami Vivekananda—he said the ill person is not in life anymore. It is that life where you are very active, healthy, happy, everything else. Definitely, definitely, you will be very healthy, very healthy. Your children should also be healthy. You can, if you do not want, not think of God. Do not think of spirituality. Do not think of that. But think of your health. How long will you be healthy? This is very important. So, that is the yoga coming in this. How much food have we destroyed? Now, when we go to the hospital, I think 60 or 55% of the food for the humans in the hospital is thrown away. And what we throw, many people have nothing to eat. And why are you ill? I am telling you. So, I will stop always "us, we." So, we are ill because our nourishment is not right. We should not just eat and destroy. Food should be good food, and eat less. Eat less, eat less. Be more strong, more strength, more willpower, and you will have a long life. Less nourishment and more movement, then we are healthy in every condition. Let us say to myself, okay? I am not going to tell you. Talking about this and this and this... This brother, he brought very nice all of it and put it in front of me. Looking, of course, my mouth and everything is active, and the person said, "Please, it will bear. Can you show me the test?" So he... Said very quickly, our head is going there, and the tongue is there. After vocal cords, no taste—bitter, salt, sweet—everything, all kinds of the taste is only that in this part. And so that is, disease is more here. So that is what we, in this Kuṇḍalinī’s... Part 2: The Body, the Nerves, and the Self Chakras, literally... whatever you want to do, we must come to health. We must come to a good state. Do not use too many things. Look at how many clothes people are throwing away. In Lexington, Atlanta—the whole of Atlanta—how many toothbrushes are you discarding? Many, because you cannot use one for a month, a year, or two years. So many people... there are two or three big trucks full of toothpaste and toothbrushes. There is only a little, only a little for this small part. What we do more and more is use more of our dear neighbors, our country, our good friends. They were... because of business, they are very clever and needed very good technology; otherwise, we did not know this world. This world emerged about 60 years ago; before, it was not. And what was that? "Use and..." Use and throw. So one person in New York, at a conference, said, "We have this habit: use and throw. But where?" He said, "But where to throw? We throw it into our recycling, back into our bodies and everything." At that time, we were healthier. But now, how many plastic cups and this and that, and many, many things? So we humans will be that. It is the human who has created these problems, and that is the problem of what? Warming. This warming and the environment. On one side we talk about the environment, and on the other side we talk about how we can balance. There are many people talking about the environment, but in their heads, they are doing the same thing. So we cannot say these big trucks working here... we cannot say that humans have lost. We have no power anymore. For example, the trucks full of chickens—you cannot stop this and say, "Please let them free in the forest." You cannot, and they will not stop, and they will not give. How many cattle they bring to the slaughterhouse—no one can stop them. So we have no power. And the power we do have is used the wrong way. That is why, as I said, that palace will go, and one day again the earth will go down to relax for a while. Then, who knows how this earth will come again? Then it will come... it was where long ago the twenty-four incarnations. First, there was one who brought this earth out from the water: Varāha. It’s like what you call a big, big... He brought the earth up again because he is strong. So, as our earth was brought out of the water, that was the first incarnation. Then it goes... a little sheep show you sometimes. So, let’s come further to our societies. Life—for what do we have the earth? Many, many animals. Life is coming, different, changing. We are human. Let’s come to humans. And now the humans we talk about today—every day—we have eight point seven... 72,000 nerves. Humans have them, and they are so fine. Some are so fine that if you touch them, they will break. Where did it go? Into the hole. And that I wanted to show. So, now when we come to our body, we have these five elements, the tattvas and elements. The tattva is different, and these five elements: the first is physical. All our physical body, all different: your bones, skin, nerves, glands, etc. So first we come to the 72,000 nerves. This is like a net around the whole body, everywhere. Also here on our thumb, here, here, very well. And when God completed everything, this work, He put the skin. And we are always looking and making our skin beautiful. That is very interesting, and humans are very, very intelligent, very clever. There are so many nerves on our face, and we want to make the head nice. Nice, but then God gave the skin nicely. But now, with so many makeups here and here and here, to destroy the nerve systems inside because they are artificial, not healthy ones. But no, we want to be beautiful. So always I look in my mirror, I said, "Can I be a little bit beautiful? Should I put my sunscreen on?" And then one day I was doing something like this, cleaning a little. And my guru came, and first he gave me this letter. And then, second, he said, "Why do you want to destroy your face? What are you looking for?" I said, "No, no, I was cleaning," and he said, "No, no, it’s nothing. This is what you are doing. You are destroying your inner parts. Clean with that water, eat well, wash, and do massage. Your skin is a bit, very good." And so I don’t have any, any, any. Number one. Number two, the Gurujī said, they are gone. Nakara, you know that, Nakara. So in Hindi language, it is something: "na" means not, and "kara" means the right, good. But what you are doing is artificial. And so, from artificial, you cannot... You hide, but you are not. You can go too. So they say... so it is a... You are destroying, and you are looking at your face, beautiful, but inside, what is happening? They are going so many inside to the... so your nerves are gone. And one who is all the time painting, I would say the painting in the matter... yeah, it is not good for the body, I would say it’s not good, yeah. Now, those who are day and night... having a nice face, but it is only till here. When you open your whole body, there is only a little bit of oil, baby, but nothing is there. I was all day, one day, by now, now looking at myself, "Oh, how I am when I’m in the bathroom." And I said, "Oh, what is hanging here?" So I said, "Oh, what I did in the bathroom, I said, 'Every day I eat good light.'" So it’s very important that we eat healthy, get good light, and get good air. Something good, and if then just use that kind of oil which is not chemical at all. So you can do something, a little bit is okay, but that means a nourishment. But chemical is not a nourishment. So this is the nerve system, so to 72,000. Nerves are disturbing and suffering in this way to the eyes. The companies will, of course, they will kill me. So from where it began, I don’t know, and where it will be, I don’t know. Legs, I will not put my legs up. I will not play with my legs. So these 72,000 nerves in these kuṇḍalinī cakras... I have kuṇḍalinī. What will you think of my cakras? So beautiful. Oh my God! This is my nectar cakra here. This is becoming the nectar from the whole brain, and this is the chakra, which is again... oh yes, this one I wanted to show you. Here, you know, this is Śiva, and this is Śakti, male and female together here in this. Is this the clarity? Everything in your book. I am not coming here to sell books, but I tell you that you should have this. And so, in this chakra, what I am telling and giving this about Kuṇḍalinī and chakras, and what happens in our body... let’s go on for that. In yoga, we have exercises about prāṇāyāma, breath technique. And in breath techniques, in your yoga, a teacher will tell you nāḍī śodhana prāṇāyāma. Nāḍī, again, what is the nāḍī? The nerves. The first is coming, the nerves: 72,000 nerves. Nāḍī and svādhyāya means purified. Now you have to do the prāṇāyāma. A doctor will say, "Mr. Swami, one bubble of air enters in your nerve; it can go to your brain and make you completely ill." What do you mean by pushing the breath into your nerves? That we are very clear: Nāḍī śodhana, purification of the nerve system. With what? Prāṇāyāma. What is that? Breath, left or right. And you are filling this air in the nervous system. It will destroy your life within no time. So this left nāḍī and this nāḍī can push the earth out. The air in the body, you cannot. But then, how are we purifying and cleaning our nervous system? And that is the truth, that we clean our nervous system. That means that first is good air, and second, we are cleaning our lungs. And from the lungs, what we are inhaling and exhaling is purifying our lungs. And from the lungs, further going, this energy... there are the systems that God has made. I don’t know. I didn’t enter inside here. Once I entered here in my lung side, my doctor, but he sent one wire, and soon he came here. I said, "No, I want to have lungs." He said, "No, no, you lie down and you go." So I learned, yes, so doctor, we should not say the doctor is not good. We should not say medicine is not good. Everything is good, and thanks to God that doctors, scientists, and doctors all cannot be stupid. Sometimes people say doctors are stupid and this. I will never say the doctor is stupid. But if they are doing different things and you are not following, then it is like that. So I’m telling you, the makeup of your body, I cannot say to keep you healthy, but you don’t do it. Is it okay? Anyhow, let’s go. So Nāḍī Śodhana, purification of 72,000 nerve systems, is like in the whole body. And from that, blood circulation is going there. There, the blood circulation, and that blood we cannot touch by air in the body. God has made everything so perfectly good. But through this, and from our exercises, the energy that we are getting enters through the nerves and creates one point, and that’s called a gland. Glands and glands, like a knot, and this gland has the energy. This is a station, and this station is like the powerhouse. From the powerhouse goes so much energy everywhere in our body, so many, so many glands. I think I have to go to the doctor and ask, "How many glands do we have?" We have, we know the pituitary, we know this, we know this, but a doctor will tell something better, more. So my doctor said, for Kate Swamy’s, he don’t count. So, I mean that he forgot. So now these glands... so how... so what I can tell is that these glands in the body, everywhere in our whole body, everywhere, on our nerves, these different kinds of nerves, this. Now, one is coming on our chakras. That we have in our Viśuddhi chakra is throat, and "viṣ" means the poison. These are very long stories, which I will not take. And this is one very important gland in our body, this here, what we call the thyroid. Yes? Thyroid gland. Now, how current this gland is, how energy goes there, how much goes from, how many nerves going together, etc. Now, then we are coming according to the psychology. Now, why do we have a problem with the thyroid gland? There are many, many causes. Doctors will also tell many, many causes. I am not a doctor. Therefore, I am always away from the doctor. And when a doctor will come and he says it is like this, then I will say yes. Because he knows; he opened. But the yoga science said these glands, why is there a glands problem? So according to yoga, it is this: that you, he, or she have some problem with some person—with a husband, or with a wife, or with children, or your boss, or your company, or your neighbors, etc., etc. The people who tell something negative words, so what do we do? Your boss, he pays you a lot of money, but he shouts at you also. You say, "Yes, sir." You have to do it quickly. Yes, sir. You have to have it just now. This is the anger, but you cannot give anger to your boss. Boswell said, "Yes sir, yes sir, yes, yes sir." There is no answer, anything. Yes, sir. And did you give? Yes, sir. Have you done? Yes, sir. It will be done. I have not done it, but yes, sir, I will do it. But there is coming tension. Someone’s whole face is red. Then the way your throat is red, all tension is here. You cannot swallow, and you cannot digest. Some people are... Is it okay, mister? Here is your work. Bye bye. If it matters to you, then he will say, "Yes, you can." Now, what he’ll do is, one person cannot do, second cannot do. He will talk, "I’m sorry, ma’am, I’m sorry, please come again." He will come and say, "Please, sorry, sorry." But still, they’ll get things. And so, that’s a man or female, it doesn’t matter. We get the problems of the glands. And this is because of what you got from your colic, negative, all that. It is happening that we come. If you swallow down, you will have hair. If you go a little down, you have a liver problem. If you go there, you have a pancreas problem. If you go in part, it is a lung problem. If you go there, it is a gallbladder problem. Etc., etc. These are the organs, and these organs are coming all together with many, many nerves, and lots and lots of hormones are coming in that part. And so, if we do meditate, if we practice yoga, and if we just for a few minutes... forget all. Your meditation is this: just relax. Invitation to the ocean, not invitation to something about a road, about some birds, anything. Just come and love your body. Relax inwardly. These are all the glands, so many glands. And these all glands, we can say, are what is the cancer. Everybody has their cancer. The cancer is not bad. That’s okay. There are clients, but when it becomes aggressive and then comes together in one point, then, of course, nowadays we know how much cancer problem is. But that, if we can again get a positive, positive energy to us. Meditation, prayer, relaxation, and do not be angry with anyone. I think it can. I cannot say 1000% or 100%, but still, there is a way to be very strong. We may make it a little bit. I spoke with different kinds of medical departments, so it doesn’t matter if it’s allopathic or homeopathic or Ayurvedic or very many, Ayurvedic only. I will not tell your name, doctor, or this, please. Is that something that can be healed or not? So it is, it is not. After some time, it will come. We will cure it. We will cut out things this and that, but there are the vibrations. Even though there is no sense inside, the vibration is there, and then the vibration again comes like this, and it will attack that kind of gland. That will go to the gland through the nerves, and it can be attacked on the nerve somewhere. So what is the best way to do pranayama? What you can do, your physical exercises, that is very good. Do it half an hour physical exercises, and do it half an hour pranayama, and do the Pranayama according to that system which your teacher teaches, not that today is like this and tomorrow is like that, and morning is this, no. We have to go slowly, slowly, and you will enjoy in your life, you will enjoy. And thinking, positive thinking, coming to the positive. Another good thing is, a good thing is, a very good thing is, that sooner or later, we will die. But, so God called us, God called us that now these organs are not anymore in function, so I will give you a new body. Come on, I buy a new car. All the cars we give it to, but we love our body. We don’t know where we will go, why it is. We have the fear. We have nothing but the fear. And fear is a very good thing. If you have no fear, you can just have problems. If you have no fear, you will just walk in front of a truck. Why? Fear. Fear is very, very important. If a child has no fear, then we have to teach them fear. He said, "No, no, I want to touch fire." I said, no, no, I want to touch. I want to touch the child’s head. So then one day, okay, that child, crying for half an hour, will not anymore touch the fire. But it is within too. This is our kuṇḍalinī cakra, and the making of the kuṇḍalinī and this cakra is a science of the whole body, all five bodies, and further about our, what we call our self. Our self is one. Our self, our soul, is one. Like, let’s say we are human. We are sitting here, all the humans. So some are male, some are female, it doesn’t matter, but we are brothers and sisters, and we are human. But our soul is one; the body is different. That’s why it is "ekobrahma-dvitīyam nāsti." All you want is the highest, the supreme. The rest is nothing. And so your ātmā, yourself and myself and their self, we are all one in one thing. Now, we shall make this interval, no? Yes. Okay, so we will make a little intro.
