Yoga Nidra

Experience the blissful awareness of the skin through mindful relaxation and inner observation.

Lie down comfortably, distinct from the posture for the dead. Feel your entire body and breath. Your skin is the pure, natural covering of your physical form, an energy body receiving and filtering prāṇa. Observe this energy flowing through and from the skin, expanding and contracting with each breath. This skin protects your inner world of organs and bones. Walk with awareness through this inner landscape, from the heart to the legs, feeling its processes and deliveries. Bring awareness to the brain, the controller, remaining in a state of awake awareness. Feel lightness, happiness, and oneness. The prāṇa energizes and purifies. Feel the breath on your skin's surface, a beautiful, natural dress of the five elements. Conclude with movement and chanting.

"Feel your skin, feel pleasant, but let it breathe. Very natural."

"Feel the lightness in the whole body. Feel the energy, feel the happiness, and feel the oneness, one with thyself."

Filming location: Vép, Hungary

Head towards me. Lie down. Ensure your legs are not touching the other person’s head. You may bend a little sideways so your legs are not near the head but beside you. Take a deep inhale, and exhale. Relax the whole body. Let the breath be relaxed and very comfortable. Ānanda āsana. Feel comfortable in ānanda āsana. Śavāsana is only for the dead body. Ānanda Āsana is for the yogī who is in life. Feel your whole body from the foot soles, the toes, and throughout. Feel the back of your body, the sides of your body, and the front of your body. Feel the breath. Relax, relax. Feel the prāṇa, feel the prāṇa in the body. Feel your whole body, as if you have come from the Adriatic coast, from what is called FKK, and you feel your skin completely—not in the hot sun, but in the shade. The sunlight, the sun energy, we have even within our house. The sun rays are transferring through and through. Relax. Now, try to feel and see your skin. Your whole skin is on your body. Imagine you do not have any kind of oils, creams, colors, nothing. Only your pure, beautiful, natural skin. The physical body is a skin, an energy body from the sun and the vegetation. Relax. Feel your skin. Feel that the energy, our prāṇa, is transferring through the whole skin. Try to analyze your skin. Observe the energy which is flowing through the skin, and also from the skin, the used prāṇa is going out. Inhale through the whole body and the nostrils. Feel the expanding and contracting of your skin, like rubber. We are blowing and moving the air like a balloon. The balloon which is breathing air in and out. We know we have many, many organs: many bones, nerves, glands, intestines, kidneys, etc. But that is protected by this skin. It is filtering through the prāṇas and bringing out all the toxins. Prāṇa, life. Feel your skin, feel pleasant, but let it breathe. Very natural. Let it breathe, flow naturally. Imagine you are fluttering on the water. How do you feel the prāṇa of the water element and the sunlight? Bring your body onto the earth and feel the radiance of the earth from the sunrise, the sun which has all the sun rays. Feel comfortable. Again, the breath is expanding and contracting. But analyze and feel your skin. Bring the awareness again to the breath, the skin, the cover of the body, expanding and contracting. If you can imagine or understand how many layers are over the skin, now imagine that you are walking in your body, not looking, walking in your world. It is a very, very big world. So, comfortably try to see and understand all the inner organs, the living organs, as if they are your world, your life. Walk it. When you are inhaling, expanding, you are in a space. When you exhale, it pushes all toxins out—contracting, pressing all toxins to leave. Walk towards your heart and the movements, the walking of your heart. Not only expanding and contracting, but it has its own world. All the intense time, all the water and food that you give to the body, you deliver it there. It is like a prasāda. Amit a testednek adtál, olyan, mint a prasād. How many different kinds of taste, colors, solidity—solid, liquid—and how many different qualities and how many different hormones will be produced in your body? Go within your legs, under your skin: all the muscles, bones, veins, glands, etc., the joints. Feel within thyself. Be very comfortable, very relaxed, very happy. No depressions, no tensions. Is everything in order? Be thyself, one with thyself, covered with the skin, supplying your skin immense energy. Peaceful, happy, békés, boldog. Immortality of the Ātmā. Asatoma sadgamaya, tamaso mā jyotir gamaya, mṛtyor mā amṛtaṁ gamaya. Agnir me vācī śritaḥ, agniḥ pṛthivyāṁ, agnir āpaḥ, agnir oṣadhīṣu, agnir vanaspatiṣu, agnir me manasi śritaḥ. Jalāve na, mojhāve na pānī na mṛtyu mitāve, śivo’haṁ, śivo’haṁ, śivo’haṁ. Let your prāṇa, let your soul, walk towards your brain. Very compact, but immense in energy, many, many different thoughts. The whole brain is controlling the whole body, and its kid, and everything. You are not only in yoga nidrā, but you are in your own reality. No sleep, awareness, awareness. Feel the lightness in the whole body. Feel the energy, feel the happiness, and feel the oneness, one with thyself. Very light, just like a feather, even if it is fluttering on the water, on the earth, with air and space. I know I am myself. I am I, and I am Tattvamasi. Yes, within me, there are millions upon millions of souls inside, like cells, my world, my kingdom. I am happy, I am relaxed, I am comfortable, I am for all. I am at light and peace. Ātmā-awakened exercise. Not as nidrā, but jāgrat. The yogic jāgrat, yoga nidrā, jāgrat nidrā. Feel thyself relaxed, light, happy, no tensions, no stress. Relax and feel your skin, beautiful. The prāṇa is like magnesium. It is bringing the energy, giving the energy, and releasing tonsils, the toxicants. Feel the prāṇa. Feel the breath on the surface of your skin, the whole body. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Beautiful, joyful. That feeling on the whole skin. You are thyself. Feel your body with a beautiful dress. You have very natural cloth, not artificial. All five tattvas are on your body. Take a deep inhale and exhale. Expand your whole body. Expand your skin. Purification, pure, deep inhale. Expand your stomach and contract. Feel the whole trunk of the body. Jāgrat Nidrā. Move your toes. Feel your toes and foot soles and fingers. I did not say, "Hands up," only fingers. I did not tell you to bend your knees and slightly turn to the left side. Remain there, only left side. I did not tell you to turn back. Oh God, I wanted to levitate you all, but you turned the wrong side. Okay, on the back and turn right side. You missed the levitation. Feel your body, feel the air on your back and left side. But legs straight, left side, and middle, and now bend both legs. Turn to the left and slowly sit up. Turn to my side. Chant. Ujhave na pānī na mṛtyu mita Śivo’haṁ Śivo’haṁ... Śānti.
