We are the cause of Mahapralaya

The Mahā Mṛtyu Jaya Mantra offers protection and inner purification.

Chant the mantra mentally or aloud while driving for divine safeguarding. This mantra cleanses the mind and heart, akin to washing plates. Proper dress and cleanliness demonstrate respect toward others. Beauty resides in the heart, eyes, and mouth. Men should have beards and protruding stomachs for proper appearance. Humans cause Mahāpralaya through deforestation. Mining for coal, gold, and silver creates empty spaces in the earth. Oil extraction and water injection increase these voids. Destroying mountains for marble and cement disrupts earth's balance. Building billions of roads pollutes and kills the earth. Slaughtering animals generates sin leading to downfall. Pesticides poison humans, causing diseases. Constructing dams blocks natural water flow, preventing ocean replenishment. Removing dams and allowing free water flow restores balance. Spiritual practitioners will ascend to higher realms before Mahāpralaya.

"When you feel unhappy, or a little bit of some problems, or you feel that somebody is against you, or you go to an examination... chant this Mahā Mṛtyu Jaya Mantra."

"Humans will be the cause of Mahāpralaya again. But he said in this bhajana, those who are spiritual, they need sādhanā. Before the Mahāpralaya comes, they will go to the Svargalokas or Brahmalokas."

Hari Om, good morning. How are you? Very good, very nice—nice, nice, and nice. How was this morning’s anuṣṭhāna? How many of you were sleeping? Yes, there are many like this. It means we should go to sleep early. Second, we should take a cold shower. Third, walk without shoes and socks for two or three minutes on the grass, and then walk on the gravel; we have very nice gravel. Walk on the same spot, but for about twenty, thirty, or a hundred meters. And then when you come back, you will be very fresh and good. And when it comes to sleeping, do it with open air, with open eyes. That’s all. We shall chant some mantra. And we shall do a mantra that is very nice. Say, mentally or verbally or loudly, chant this Mahā Mṛtyu Jaya Mantra. Especially when you are driving your car, before you turn the key, you should chant the Mahā Mṛtyu Jaya Mantra. So that the divine śakti always protects us, and also God, Śiva, protects us. So while walking from home to work, mentally chant this mantra. There are different melodies, and this is your own melody, however you do it. When you feel unhappy, or a little bit of some problems, or you feel that somebody is against you, or you go to an examination, or you go to the office or university and you are troubled a little—don’t trouble. Don’t be afraid. Mahāprabhujī said, “I am with you, my child. Come with me. You will hold my finger, and I will bring you there.” That is a very nice mantra. It is truly a very powerful mantra. Its language is very simple, and everyone can do it. So do it while driving, while sitting, anytime. And when you feel something negative, or “I’m not correct,” or this and that, or even while singing, you can also do it while driving. In this mantra, it says, “Hove man manjan”—my mind, in my heart. “Manjan” means pure, clean. After eating, you bring your tray to the clean water and wash your plates, very nice and clean. You wash your dress, your laundry, and it becomes nice and clean. And you can even iron it if you want. But this must not be: you iron, you wear, you sit in the car, you go outside—everything is again wrinkled. That must not trouble you. Yet somehow it answers the question. And in that question, I was questioned—somebody asked me, and I have forgotten. Forget it—but it is that when you go out wearing a good dress, you think, “What? Everyone says, ‘Pe, pe, pe.’” Yes, so I mean I will get the word back sometime. So it is not that you are showing yourself; it is a respect towards others. A respect towards others. When you wear good dress, you clean your hair and brush it, you clean your face, and everything is tidy, others may say, “Oh, this person is so much showing that I am the best.” You may think, how does this lady have nice hair and a very nice face, washed, and not have this? And then there is so much makeup. And then he or she still thinks it’s not enough. Then they put this. There is something behind this, and again you are closing this also. That is different, but it’s okay. Why not? Now I also have glasses, and from time to time I take them off because I don’t like to hide my eyes. If you don’t see your eyes, then your face is not good. Our beauty is with our heart, our eyes, and our mouth. And the beauty of the man—I’m sorry, ladies—the beauty of the man, I will tell what I want to tell, but you are so intelligent, so you know. Yes, so if it is without a beard, then it’s like a mouse. The mouse has the ears. But if the beard and the moustache are perfect. And you know, generally, every man after a certain age is very mutual. Then, until you are a young child, it’s okay. But when you mature, then the stomach should come out. Then his wife is so proud, really! I have seen this many times. So when the husband has a stomach that sticks out more, then the wife is very proud. And when the woman brings the stomach in, then the husband is proud. So it is said, the man with his stomach—a man without a stomach is no stars in the sky. So the stars, the beauty of the sky, are the stars. And so, beauty is in the man’s stomach. So, boys, eat more and more, okay? And do a little nauli kriyā, agnisāra kriyā, yes. That is something, energy. So it is said, when we have proper dress, proper everything, it is a respect towards others, because a person will say, “Yes, this person is clean, nice, properly dressed, etc.” So what is the difference between this—our own ego, or respect? What is the difference between ego and respect? Who doesn’t understand? Then it doesn’t matter. My dear, it is beautiful. God has given our body as it is. All creatures are without dress. God gave the skin, God gave the hair, etc. But we are now showing to God that we tell God, “God, now we are civilized.” Then God said, “Then have a nice dress.” Because one day I was thinking, I was showing you the Mahāśivapurāṇa, and Śiva-Pārvatī or Śakti, and also Lakṣmī and Viṣṇu. How nicely they are beautiful, also dressed. I don’t know in the last yugas, in Satyugas, which tailor was there making a nice dress, but for a human, it’s something different. So, animals are different, and humans are different. Animals don’t want to make up anything. Does any animal make up? Maybe sometimes they lick their hair because there are some bugs, but we are different. Therefore, let us live according to our culture, and culture is according to the environment—meaning the hot or cold climate, whether in the desert or in the mountains. According to that, we are living. But nowadays, people try to become in oneness, but that is not it. It is very nice to be, so therefore, it is also said that our respect—if you want to respect others, then we should be properly dressed and properly washed. Otherwise, from the nose, it is hanging on the beard. Nothing is good. People will say, “This person is so.” So have a good dress, a clean dress, ironed or not, but be happy and joyful. Kamal. Kamal is like a lotus, a lotus flower. And when early morning, when the dawn is coming, each and every petal of the lotus is unfolding. And before the sun comes, all lotus petals are opened. How beautiful! So, through this mantra, in our heart, such happiness comes, purity comes. And here they come, okay, okay, cool. Jai, okay, means the eyes. So the lotus petals also have eyes, so in our heart we also have our eyes. But you should put every day in your eyes, ointment. This is the beautiful ointment of the mantra. Then your eyes will open, and the beauty of your whole world, with your Anāhata Cakra. So, which kind of ointment should we put in our eyes? And that is the ointment, the best ointment, is the name of this bhajan, the name of Gurudev, “Deep Niranjan Sabdukha Bhajan.” Do this, and all troubles will go, all problems. But with you here, they come. Your heart should open. So, the children have to go to the garden. And then you see, the lotus is beautiful when it is in the water. And if there is a garden and there are no children, there is no beauty in that. That’s very good. So, we have a beautiful seminar, hundreds of us are here, and we have hundreds of our children. When they go, it looks like the lake, a beautiful lake, where Paramahaṃsa is there, and these children are like Paramahaṃsa. Written by Mahāprabhujī’s disciple, Maṅgīlālji. And Maṅgīlālji, he was a great, great saint. And Mahāprabhujī declared him, it is called Jīvit Living. In this world, he is already like in the Brahmaloka. There was one who was the father of Sītā. And the father of Sītā was called “That living like a dead.” Beautiful, beautiful. So, Maṅgīlālji wrote a very long bhajan, and in it he is talking about what will happen in this world, because sooner or later it will go to Mahāpralaya. And when the saints are saying, definitely it will be. And who will do this? The humans. Humans will be the cause of Mahāpralaya again. But he said in this bhajana, those who are spiritual, they need sādhanā. Before the Mahāpralaya comes, they will go to the Svargalokas or Brahmalokas. Others will stay here, so don’t worry. When it comes, you will all come quickly there. Like Viṣṇu and his chariot. Who is the charioteer of Viṣṇu? Garuḍa. Yes, Garuḍa is like a swan, big—the Garuḍa is like a big eagle, in German they say Adler. And don’t worry, how do you think that God will, man will sit on and ride on, if this will fly, it cannot. Of course, if you sit on a crow, then you can’t fly. So you always get the crow. You are always meeting the crows. My dear, come and bring that, the Garuḍa. Yes. Well, I was also thinking, really, how will it lift a human? But one day I saw on Facebook, from the Himalayas, somewhere at a height of about ten thousand meters or eight thousand meters, there came one big eagle. And what did he do? A big goat—Veliká koza—big, just cut it up. That one is about seventy, eighty kilos. And nicely, he’s up flying. Similarly, Brahmā and Viṣṇu have their chariot, which is Garuḍa. So one day it will come. All will go, like to the Brahmalokas. Others will go down, so don’t worry. The Garuḍa can be as big as his wings can be—from this corner of the earth to another corner of the earth. Like Hanumānjī. Hanumānjī took Lakṣmaṇa and Rāma, and he was flying, coming to Sri Lanka. So that is not a miracle—it is. So we have opportunities. But we said, “God, please do not let there be this Mahāpralaya.” But who is doing it, and how is it being done, and how will it be? Many times I told, and I gave in my lectures many years before, constantly. Let’s say the cause is the humans. It means we are putting the weapon on our own foot. You are cutting your own legs. So similarly, we humans are destroying ourselves. We are the cause of the forest and all creatures. Let’s see that first: we begin to chop the trees. Many, many, many trees. If we see from above, the earth is more than desert. The less we see the greenery, the more our earth is completely dried. And the water, the rain—rain comes only where the greenery is. It means they are not raining; rain doesn’t come only because of the humans. But the rain comes for all the greenery, the vegetation. And the shelter of the creatures is the trees. But we humans are cutting and cutting. A lot of the rainforest is being destroyed day and night with machines. So we shall plant more and more trees, and have more and more greenery. This is number one. Second, we have dug numberless mines—coal mines, gold mines, silver mines. Many, many things we are digging out from the earth. What are we doing? We are making holes. And when there is nothing, then some pull the water in, and others just block it. So water or empty space. This is the cause; I will tell you after. After that, all dealing in the oil. So many, many of these oils we are dealing with, and then we put water or we leave it there. So again, this emptiness or water goes in. This will also be the cause of the Mahāpralaya, the third. The many, many rocks we are mining, the mountains—we are digging everything, we are destroying the mountains. You can’t imagine, in some countries, where there was a little hill or mountain, there is no mountain. Okay, but going deep, digging this. For example, beautiful stones, marble, or other stones. They are digging and digging and digging, one hundred fifty meters deep for the stones. Then, for all this material for the buildings. And then we are also destroying the mountains for what we call cement. And how many billions of roads in the whole world have we made? That is the cause of destroying the mountains, the cause of these oils. So, one way we took the balance away; second, we kill the earth, and mostly the pollution is from the highways or the roads. How many rubbers are there that we are using as the wheels of vehicles? You can’t imagine how much is in the whole world. Don’t count only on Strilky, where we are sitting, but everywhere. And in some countries, it is so much that in the traffic, you cannot go quickly. So this is also the cause of the pralaya. Next, the slaughtering of many, many animals. Zabíjení mnoha zvířat—and this is also what we call the pāpa, and pāpa means sin. Sin is the cause of the falling down. Let the animals be free, like this nature is free. Let the birds free, like this nature is free. Then, very deep, they are giving poison—we humans are giving ourselves the poison. Our children, our families, all, we are getting poison. There are so many cancers, so many diseases. Why? Because of the poison in the body—this is the pesticide. This is also the cause of what we call the Mahāpralaya. This all, then, what we are doing, still we humans—we want to shape up everything, kill, kill, kill. There is a natural flow of the water, but what we will do is build many, many dams. If there is a river and you are not building a dam, you are constructing the bank of the river with stones and concrete. So that water doesn’t go into the whole land. And where you have a dam, that’s only for the purpose of fishing. And a little water is sent to some factories. So there we are also killing this earth, and all water is blocked here. So where is the water going now? The ocean has no more water. Because the ocean gives us water, we should take only as much as we need. And the rest should flow back to the ocean. So that is also the cause of the Mahāpralaya. So, my dear, there are more than these causes for the environment. And we are using billions of Hungarian forints—billions—but still it’s not enough. So for money, we are giving them more to kill the many things. My dear, I don’t want to tell you, but I have something different. So now, for example, take this example—this is the balance. This is Earth, and where the mountain is, it is giving this balance. But we are taking water out, and all holes in the earth. But now we are destroying the mountains, because mountains are the balance to keep the earth further. But when the earth is destroyed, the rocks, what will happen? The mother earth is empty, and what will happen? Suddenly, this earth, because the balance is not there anymore, one day it will go like this. And when the ocean comes with one wave, the earth is down. Where’s your bank? Where’s your money? Where’s your gold? Where is your child, who is only two meters away from you? We are all sinking in the water. How long will you survive there in the ocean with a boat? That is called Mahāpralaya. Then again Śiva will come. Then we’ll say He is the. Because of that, others, and now, “Ekoham Bhausyam,” again Bhagavān Śiva will come. So this is what I want to tell you: this is what we can do. My lecture is always in this way, last many, many years. So first, what we should do is break all the dams—no dams—let the water come onto the earth and let it flow again through the whole forest and go rest in the ocean. And don’t make blocks of everything. So the mines, oils, the mining of mountains, the cutting of the forests, and dams—these are the causes of the suffering in this world. When I came in 1970 to Europe, and now I can see this—like a desert in India, somewhere in India it’s so dry, in the Himalayas from Rishikesh onwards you need a coat, it’s very cold, and now even up to the high mountains, what we call Joshimath, nearly three thousand meters in height, you need a ventilator. Everywhere in the whole world, I hope all listeners around the world, we shall come to have this conference. We don’t want any scientists. The scientists have destroyed this globe. We want new farmers, normal people. They will again. Scientist is the sign and tea—drink the tea and go coffee out. No scientist can save us; moreover, they will make something wrong. And if you are clever, then break all the dams first, and second, no wood should be used for any of your buildings, and nothing should be dug out for high buildings. Live normally. That can save our time, our earth, and our life. So please share this wherever you can. I give you freely, all my newspapers or magazines or anywhere. And that we should have a conference. Thank you very much. Hari Om. Now, what do you say? So there are those who are Americans, Australians, New Zealanders, Fijians, also Croatians, Cubans, and Georgians—all are here. Make nice, nice some letters or magazines, write in the magazine, write in newspapers, and write and give in the whole villages, everyone. Two pages, hold it, do it, everybody. Five thousand—yourself, print it, and just give it further, give it further. It is said, where there is a will, there is a way. When I came sometimes with the Russian aeroplane, and at that time, they were giving very cheap and very good. The Russians were very nice. So from Vienna to Moscow, Moscow to New Delhi, New Delhi to Singapore, Singapore to New Delhi, New Delhi to Moscow, and Moscow to Vienna. And it was about four hundred—at that time it was shillings—and eating good food. And at that time, other flights were also cheaper, but the Russians were offering a good deal. And now also, only people are stupid, thinking, “Oh, Russians are not good.” Russians are very good. Now we will go again into Europe, into Russia. Anyhow, what I want to say is, where there is a will, there is a way. Hare Krishna people were coming. Hare Krishna. Have good, strong willpower. So what did they do? They made a small Bhagavad Gītā. And in the Russian language, they had full bags. So when they were going to the toilet, they put it there. Walking near the coffee shop, put it there. So wherever they could, they put one book. In the aeroplane, give it in the bathroom, or they put it near the hostess. So, and they read it. And many came to know what is the Bhagavad Gītā, what is Kṛṣṇa. Yes. Many times they were burning their āśram or their temple. In many, they were beating. In the time of Yugoslavia, they were beating the people. A few people were in one house, living there on some farm, and people came and burned them. Someone came and put up a cross with a knife. But still they were there in the name of Kṛṣṇa. So where there is a will, there is a way. I don’t know, but they said now in Russia the government helps them to make a temple of the Hare Krishna. I don’t know, but I’ve heard that the Russian government has now helped to force Hare Kṛṣṇa to build a temple. But they have the will, and they have understanding. And what about us? We are making in the trousers. To make the yellow dress, Hari Om.
