The importance of healthy food

The key to sādhana begins with worship and humility toward the Gurudeva. The body is a complete creation, divided into four interdependent parts: the head as Brahmin, the arms as Kṣatriya, the trunk as Vaiśya providing nourishment, and the legs as Śūdra. This unity illustrates that no part is superior; all are one. Purification of the body through proper nourishment and practice is essential. Do not contaminate it with impure substances or ideas. The ego creates separation where none exists in nature. All beings are beautiful in their inherent purity.

"All is in one, and one is in all. So how would you like to separate your body?"

"Therefore, we must first purify our body. So don't give petrol instead of water, and instead of milk, don't put alcohol."

First, we must seek the blessings of our spiritual lineage. May Ālag Purījī bless us with the cosmic world. May Devpurījī protect us from all difficulties. May Mahāprabhujī blaze in our heart. And may our beloved Sadgurujī Swāmī Madhavānandjī reside in our vocal cords. You know Gurujī’s voice, how it is. May all these guides please lead me. This is the brief prayer I always offer before I speak. We may also recite a mantra, but the essence is: "Please, guide me, protect me, bless me, and guide my speech." Today, I give to you—dneska vám to předávám—the key, ten klíč, for all of you. When you begin your yoga sādhana, every morning, evening, or noon when you practice, first worship and bow down with humility to the Gurudeva. Then your sādhana will become very successful. First, for our body. We pray: "O body, please guide me throughout the whole day and night." There is also a mantra that many people know: Oṁ Tryambhakaṁ Yajāmahe Sugandhiṁ Puṣṭivardhanam, Urvārukam Iva Bandhanān Mṛtyor Mukṣīya Mā’mṛtāt. We should mentally chant this mantra in all our activities. It is from the Vedas and is for each and every part of our body, beginning with our hair. The hair is like space, like the sky. It is living but feels no pain—when you cut your hair, it doesn't hurt, but that is another subject. Then comes our skin, our nervous system, our glands, our muscles, our bones, our organs, and our joints. Our entire physical being is constructed so completely that nothing is missing. What is missing is the knowledge of it, and that knowledge we cannot get without the Master. Consider your professor at the university, the doctor in the hospital, or a good farmer. Take our dear Jaya Devī from Slovakia. In just two years, last year she worked hard to put things in order, and this year we have so much in this little garden—abundant organic, bio-natural food. But one must know: the best scientist, the one with the ultimate knowledge, is the farmer. He possesses all the knowledge; we do not. We have our specialized faculty, we know one subject, but we do not know the rest. The practical knowledge of giving life, of knowing when and how to work on the farm, in our agriculture—this makes the farmer above all others; they are higher. They are our life; our life depends on them. When this knowledge was taken away from the farmer's house, our lives were destroyed. All diseases, all cancers, many illnesses, and children born with physical defects arise from what we eat. We used to have many children—strong, loving, healthy children. Mothers were healthy, fathers were healthy, everything was great. Yes, and we lived together in harmony, including goats, sheep, dogs, cats, and birds. The farmer is the greatest on this earth. This is a science, you see. Nowadays, they don't know that true science is something very good. We have electricity, we have machines that make noise—that is also science, and I like many of our machines. A bulldozer with one bucket can dig the earth for twenty people. We can do nice work, but with one scoop it brings that earth out. Twenty people lost their jobs, and the earth was more disturbed. This is a science, but it is destructive. So, to be a farmer is great, but scientists come in between. They don't want to do this and that. Why was I in Australia? Some Australians told me that if there is a big farm using pesticides, and another farmer wants to farm organically, the conventional farmer complains to the government. He claims the organic farmer destroys his farm by attracting bugs, so the organic farming is stopped. I am not making a joke. There is a city in Australia, Brisbane, and beyond it, the Gold Coast. I was always eager—not ugly, eager—to see if a little gold could be found. There was no gold coast, perhaps no gold. There were many animals, all kinds, right in the city. They said an organic vegetable garden or shop should not be open in front of the road. So, it is labeled organic, but you have to go behind the house to find it. This was told to me three or four times by people from there. So, I don't know this science. Now they have beautiful technology: you cannot drink, and your children cannot drink milk directly from a cow. Either they will take the cow away, or they will take your child away. You cannot give them the milk there. In Europe, thank God, many farmers still provide milk you can get directly. They say all milk should go to the dairy, where they do something we don't know. They take the fat out and add chemicals. People want direct milk, so again, the scientists intervene. For drinking milk, you have to take what is called "drinkable milk." Other milk obtained directly from the cow is also available, but it is labeled "Milk not for drinking." This milk is not for drinking; it is only for... bathing, not for drinking. People are clever, too, so they bring that milk, and when I went there, they gave me this milk. It is not drinkable; it is for washing. I asked them, and they said, "That's okay, because our government does like that." What happens next is that very soon the "washing milk" sold more. So, in about a year, technology intervened again. For the washing milk that people began to drink, they added a chemical. If you drink that washing milk, soon you will need Saṅkta Prakṣālana (a cleansing idea). What can we do? We cannot be free. I am not making a joke. That government knows what I am talking about because they know it is the truth. There is one of our persons from Australia here. She can stand up and see whether what Swāmijī said is wrong or right. Please, is it true or a lie? Swāmijī said, "Is it a lie or not?" Yes, it is a good point. Now they are even targeting human children and human milk. They are attacking little children, saying they should be given other milk. What a Kali Yuga! So there are many, many problems. One of the biggest dairies in the world is in New Zealand. Milk from Europe goes to New Zealand. They are building a huge company. From Holland, tons and tons are sent in tankers, like those transporting petrol. They transport milk from Holland to New Zealand in those boats. What is in that milk, we don't know. Look at how people are thinking, looking at me. Yeah, everybody—look at our faces, how nice. Yeah, look that side, camera. Look. What do you think? Tell everybody. Your camera is stuck. So, how is everyone looking? Oh God, I thought, "I want to see my old bhaktas." How nice, good in my hand. You see how nice our people are? Great. Go ahead. Look, our yoga people are so beautiful. And Australia? You will not have like this. Nor Indians. Who was turning my camera in India? Oh God. Who was the camera operator? You don't understand my hint. That's right. You must have a very nice hint. Like behind some great figures from big countries, presidents have bodyguards with dark glasses in front, and they are constantly watching what the master is doing. His glasses are looking that side, but he is looking here. Anyway, why am I talking about this? It is like this: Our body is divided into four parts. First is the brain. That is called the Brahmin. It means our brain, our internet, everything. But if you feed it something—drugs, alcohol, meat, etc.—then this human quality is gone. Perhaps you become very weak. Maybe you think it is very thin. Sorry, I cannot use this instrument. So it is not good. Brahmin does not mean a human caste; that caste designation comes after learning. As written by Kṛṣṇa in the Bhagavad Gītā, it is called Brahman, and that is our knowledge. These are all our Jñāna Indriyas: eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and skin. These are the five organs of knowledge. So we say, "Oh, this is a great person. He has great knowledge," and we refer to such a person as a brāhmaṇa. Then comes the second part, called Kṣatriya. The Kṣatriya is like our army. That means our arms—Bhuja, we call them Bhuja. These arms have the strength to protect our body, our family, our friends, etc. This is called Kṣatriya, what they call the royals, because they have power. So we have Brāhmaṇa, Kṣatriya, and then the trunk of the body. That is called the farmer. Everything in our body from the throat to the hip joint supplies all kinds of nourishment. Our body contains all different kinds of nourishment, vitamins. We can't imagine that one cup of water, or an herbal tea we call "water," will be distributed into many qualities by the body. First, it goes to our intestines, from where it is distributed to the liver. You, me—we all know, and you may know more than me—our liver is like a faculty, a company. There is a company for medicine, and they make so many medicines there. Our liver contains all that we need in the body. But our liver says, "I need pure petrol," and you put in not pure petrol but diesel. You fill it with oil. I run on pure gasoline, and you fill it with oil. Instead of petrol, you put diesel. And when you don't have diesel, you use kerosene. So how is our liver working? Still, the liver has great power and will try to function for a few kilometers. This means the liver requires pure drinking water. Second, mother's milk. Who is a mother? All who give milk are our mothers. Only a mother produces milk; no company can do that. The cow yields milk. They cannot make milk. The bull doesn't make milk. Your father doesn't make milk. Your dog doesn't make milk. But the mother, even among animals, is human. She gives the milk. Now people are trying to say, "Sell your milk for money," encouraging women to sell their milk. But they give them chemicals, cigarettes, to produce more milk, and she gives this bottled milk—a woman's milk—to her child because she doesn't want to nurse from her breast. We used to say that the person who drank their own mother's milk is the best. Thank God, I believe and trust that you all had milk from your mother. But very soon they may make a law: you cannot give milk from your mother's breast. Yes, you know there is already a notion that the child you gave birth to is not yours; it is the nation's child. Do you see how many things we are doing? Let's continue. Our lungs are very powerful for oxygen; our heart—all these internal instruments are the farmers, the peasants. That is called Vaiśya. Then the Brahmin slowly, slowly disappears. There is nothing. This is the call to our provider, our father. Then our legs, from the hip joints to the soles of the feet, are called the Śūdra. What does Śūdra mean? It means impure. Your feet go everywhere. Your legs will walk for you everywhere—in pure water, in dirty water, in mud, on grass. Whether pure or impure, your legs do not say, "I don't want to go there." Your eyes might say, "Don't go there. Go left, there is more dirt. Go that side, there are sitting cobras. Go this side, there are tigers." So, brāhmaṇa, what will you do? Even through dirt, you must go on your way. These are the four parts of the human body, very clearly written in the Bhagavad Gītā, as said by Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa: Brahmin, Kṣatriya, Vaiśya, and Śūdra. Now, all this is yours. If someone cut off your big toe, or all your toes, you would be so sad. Or a hand, or a leg. When there is a little cancer in your toes, you can't sleep night and day. The cancer is in my body, so this is not the śūdra, nor the farmer, nor the arms, nor the head. All is in one, and one is in all. So how would you like to separate your body? Okay, go sleep in your room, but you don't want to take your legs with you? Not the Śūdra? No problem. We cut off your legs, put them outside, and you can sleep in your room. The next day we will bring them back. What happens? One leg is taken by dogs, and the other by something else. So, my dear, do not make differences between humans and humans, and similarly, between animals. This is the first knowledge. That science is the best science. The rest, where you make something, is not good. Remember, I can tell you that our body is made by nature. You can say nature. If you don't believe in God, it doesn't matter. God said, "I am not happy or unhappy. You do what you want. Okay, you are born from a tree, from the earth. It's okay. But all is my creation." So think how we are. This is what we are doing in Anuṣṭhāna: purifying the whole body, Cakra Śodhana, Prāṇāyāma Śodhana. This is everything. So, this is the first achievement: our body. We are so beautiful, and we make it more beautiful—here and here. You saw yesterday in the drama about Krishna's mother: though she was in a big, heavily guarded prison where no one could go near her, still she was depicted beautifully. Yes, I was observing everything. It was only drama, but I know. Our body is beautiful, but after an operation, the doctor will... and you said, "Can I see my father?" No problem, they will give you all green cloth, gloves, and everything, and the break. What's coming from the stomach? You will forget your father; you will see God, urine, coats, blood. That's why the doctor doesn't let you go in there; we don't know what's happening. So God nicely made the cloth. God made your beautiful body, but still we are not satisfied. So we wear nice clothes; still we are not satisfied. Then we style our hair nicely; still not satisfied. Then we apply makeup; still not satisfied. Then we see: the wife will say to her husband, "Now you can go out, I don't need you." Yes, it can be. To whom should I say? I have to speak human to human. So, men are very silent. And if a man comes with makeup, everything, his wife will laugh and laugh and say, "What happened to you?" You see, so they don't give us makeup. So the man said, "Darling, you are making makeup for me. You are making it, but you can't see. I see, so you are making it for me. And you don't want me to make it? Because I am beautiful enough?" Do you understand? The man said, "I am beautiful enough, darling." Then the wife said, "No, no. You are beautiful because of me." Yes, how happy they are together. So, my dear, the Brahmin (the head), the warrior (the arms), the trunk (the farmer), and the legs (which carry us here and there)—the human body is divided into four parts. There is no separate seat for Krishna: Brahmin, Kṣatriya, Vaiśya, and so on. That would mean Krishna would also say, "Cut me into four parts." We are, you know, like yesterday when everybody was giving the... what do you call it? The kisses. Caraṇāmṛta. So it is like this. Therefore, it is finally said: out of 8.4 million different creatures, one is human. And they said, "Human is human. No caste, and no this and that." It doesn't matter if one is higher, one is smaller, one is white, one is black. Why not? That is, my soul is pure. My heart is pure. My being is beautiful, and God gave me this beauty of black skin. You can't imagine one saying, "How beautiful I am." So, all we are is human. Only humans have problems. If you have 50 cows—one red, one black, one white, one black-and-white—does the cow say, "We don't want you, white one"? And will the white one say, "I don't want the two-colored ones"? No, not at all. Pigeons are different colors, but they don't fight each other. The problem is here, with the human. And this is because of the ego. That's it. Therefore, we must first purify our body. So don't give petrol instead of water, and instead of milk, don't put alcohol. We are providing nourishment for the human, and we are doing it. We are killing animals. It is said—I don't know—but before the Second World War or the First World War, people did not eat so much meat. But now it's only because they thought high-quality people can eat meat. No. It is the rākṣasas. That's it. In this way, our body is to be purified. It doesn't matter what people say; let them be like that, but I want to offer purity at the lotus feet of God. A great saint said very nicely: Chādarīyā jīnī re jīnī, kīrama namrasa bīnī. Chādarīyā jīnī re jīnī, aṣṭaka mālā kā cārkā banāyā. Pāñca tattvā kī pūni Ashtaka mala kya acharka banāyā? Pañcatattva kī puni chadariyā. Pañcatattva kī puni varsha o das mā sābo nānako lāge. Muraka kameli kīnī chadariyā? Jinī re, jinī kera manamāra sabanī chadariyā. Nire jinī, khera manamā rasa binī chadariyā. Nirejini, jab mori cha dharbhan dara aai, rangar je kodini. Jab mori cha dharbhan dara aai, rangar je kodini chadariya. Anama Rasa Dini Chadariya Jini Rejini Sadar hor kashanka matakariyo. Dodin tum kodini Sadar hor kashanka matakariyo. Dodin tum kodini Sadariya. We shall understand and should not make differences. Everywhere, every nature is good. In humans, ladies are making themselves beautiful, and they are beautiful—why not? But look at the peacock, the peacock bird: male and female. How is the male beautiful? She said she is more beautiful than him. She said, "Because you are showing off my beauty. Don't be proud," she said to her husband. "And you know, if you are too proud of your beauty, within ten days I will take all your wings, and all the feathers will fall down." And he came back, and she said, "I told you." She said, "No, no..." The man never said yes. He said, "No, no... I want even newer ones for you. Don't worry. They will come again." She said, "Of course, I'm proud of it. Otherwise, I would not be proud." So he said, "I'm sorry. You are always equal, and I'm always changing. You are great. I'm changing and changing." So in nature, everywhere is good. Every tree has its beauty. Everything is very good. Thank you. Today, we spoke of the four parts of the human. We could talk the whole day, more and more. Then we would have to bring a doctor, and after the doctor, a surgeon for different things. Our doctors in this age are beautiful. They can perform many operations, giving us life again. So we should not say that medicine is not good. Every medicine has names from language; you have it from Latin, and Latin derives from Āyurveda. The Sanskrit language is in Āyurveda, and that is also very close to Sanskrit and Latin. The Latin names are very similar to the Sanskrit names. It is very close, and we need it all. We are here, but we want God to lead us. So we have to become one. That is where there is no more two, only oneness. And then I will tell you that I want to come back. It's more beautiful, beautiful. Our earth doesn't matter how it is; if there are any problems, they are our own mistakes. So let us come back, and I hope we will come here again. We will sing our bhajans. Anuṣṭhāna. It's beautiful.
