The Path Beyond Mind: A Meditation Guide

The path lies beyond the mind, accessed through mantra and inner mastery. Withdraw from external senses and feel the body. The mind is the primary distraction, creating the prison of the physical form. Control the mind like a rider controls a horse, though complete control is never absolute. The resonant power of a correctly recited mantra is the sole force beyond the mind's domain. Writing, sound, and color are preliminary steps that can lead astray if the heart is not directed beyond mental noise. True progress begins in a state of silent, vibration-based awareness where the individual self is still. This leads to the realization of a singular, supreme reality. The disciple must be soft and humble, yet ultimately develop an inner firmness under the guidance of a true master.

"Mind, kill your mind. 'Kill your mind' means to bring it completely under your power."

"Eko Brahma Dvitīya Nāsti. One is that Brahman... The two will destroy."

Relax. Whatever you wish to hear from the outer world, now withdraw yourself from it. You are here in this hall of Yoga and Daily Life in Auckland, New Zealand. We withdraw from this hall all the different photos, everything. Feel your body. See your body. Know the color of your dress. Know that you are sitting in a meditation posture. Become one with thyself. Relax. Relax your whole body. Bring peacefulness to your mind. Feel your being: the physical body, the mental body, the spiritual body—all. As you know, in yoga and real life, many scriptures and books have given immense knowledge of the science of yoga. That science is for the body, the mind, the intellect, the self, and your knowledge of being thyself. With this, we are going to come to that point which is beyond our body. Make your body comfortable. Relax. Feel your body, the prāṇa, the energy, the power, the strength. It is your highest strength, attained through this meditation of yoga and daily life, from today, from Devpurījī’s blessing. Mastery lies in understanding that your mind is the problem. The mind is the distraction. The mind is destroying all, and the mind can make you. The mind makes you in your body. Your body is a prison, and the mind has brought you into that prison of the physical body. The mind is very difficult. It is that horse. That horse needs a rider. I will give you that mental state of the mind, that technique of how you can take the mind under your control, after this meditation. But again, the mind will not be 100% under control. Therefore, consider the mind and energy, the mind and our self. There is a difference between the mind and the ātmā. Therefore, all saints said, "Mind, kill your mind." "Kill your mind" means to bring it completely under your power. You made the prison of your body, but you should imprison your mind in this body. Then you are the yogī. It will be so. And therefore, there is only one power beyond your mind, and that is the resonance of your mantra. For controlling this, the liquid mantra—your mantras—you said to write on a piece of paper. Are you sure that your mantra is clear or not? That resonance of the writing of the letters, the liquid mantra, the power... Very often we forget, and we lose the path. A very little difference in the letter, and we are gone in another direction. Levitation, mental levitation, going high up, reading, writing of the mantra, coming to sound. The master is one who can paint something and is listening from the paintings. No one else can listen to that one. An artist can listen, and what he listens to, he can write, and what he writes, he can listen to. What kind of painting are you going to paint? That color which is the sound, the resonance. The brush of the colors leads to that path where he can want to do, but it is beyond the mind; then your alphabet will go in that direction. The color speaks, and color guides, but your heart should go in another direction. Peace, peace... the mind, the mind and self. Many pages in yoga and life are written about this. Therefore, the first alphabet, writing, then the sound, Na Darupa Parabrahma, that leads to the highest supreme. But the mind, what you are always... nowadays people have not realized what mind is. After a while, you will see that the mind will completely destroy not the path, but it will make it all like a bush, stones, etc. We humans are trying all energy, and power, and mind. It is not that path. Peace, body-mind, body-mind, and mind-body. This is, this too is the difference, bringing confusion. Therefore, the third step, the letter, the sound, this will not bring you there. Therefore, the body-mind speaks, but be silent, it is said, a yogī. Your body and mind are like in a circle. And in that circle, there is no end. That’s what we call the zero, and that’s why we always turn back to the zero. All in the numbers, till nine. And when you go further with your own power, then you are in the zero. Finished. Lost. The fourth one is to be completely silent and above the mind, body, and energy. Press down, but my dear, it is not without a master or without your proper strength. For example, take a football and dive deep into the water. How long will you put that ball under? As soon as you create distance, that ball will jump out. That is the body and mind which you think, my dear. But the fifth part of yoga is the beginning. And that’s called nādarūpa. The jīvā does not move. Neither lips, nor tongue. Patañjali is giving any kind of instruction. At that time comes the power of the yogic science. Then begins your path, that is very hard to come, feel, and come to your center, and that is from the center of, in the yoga and daily life, the key of the master, our paramparā. You might do many things. Temporarily, okay. Temporarily, someone drinks alcohol, but you know what happens after. Similarly, Eko Brahma Dvitīya Nāsti. Eko Brahma Dvitīya Nāsti. Eko means one. Dvitīya Nāsti. The two will destroy. Eko Brahma Dvitīya Nāsti. Eko Brahma Dvitīya Nāsti. Eko Brahma Dvitīya Nāsti. One is that Brahman, that Guru, Kṛpāhi, Kevalam. It will lead you there. Oh, disciple, do not think that you will be okay now. No, it’s very simple. No hard work, but we are trying to take our ego. I can give you, I can make many, many masters who call themselves masters. But all such masters have destroyed all disciples, too. Therefore, our Alakhpurījī, Devpurījī, Gurujīs—such we have to come to mind. Therefore, body and mind are both being destroyed together. Body, sāttvic. Mind under control. Always, your heart should be under control. Peace, peace. Get your horse-like breath in and out. You are riding the horse of the breath. And you are the student or the master taking to the Brahmaloka. Means, as life is there. And after that, both the prison and the prisoner will remain here. What is that? Let us go further. Now, chant your mantra mentally. Repeat the mantra which was given to you. Relax and feel. Become oneness. Become oneness. Master and disciple. It’s like the roots and the tree. The roots, the trunk, the branches, the leaves, the blooms, and the fruits. The roots are bitter, the trunk is also bitter, the bark is also bitter, the branches are bitter, and the thorns, the hook of the thorns. But finally, the fruit is nectar; that is the master and disciple. Rest is the garbīs. Read your mantras. Feel ascending and descending from the abdomen below the navel until the Ājñā Chakra. Ascending and descending, that’s the horse, and consciousness is the rider. Awareness is the rider. Do not think your body is so beautiful. Don’t think your body is great. Don’t think that your body is the only best. Sooner or later, it’s finished. And many, many minds, all the ministers have different minds, all warriors have different minds, but there is no result. Only Ekobrahma Dvitīya Nāsti, Ekobrahma, only that one Brahman. Repeat your mantra, be one with that, one in all and all in one, in your consciousness, in your awareness, in your power, within you, that spirituality in the Master. And the purity, humbleness, and the respect, called as the student in the heart of the master. And the words of the master, the brain, mind, etc., are for disciples to protect. When we create the clay pot, the clay is very soft and mixed with water. We are the master, that master who is making the pot from the clay. And we, disciples, have to be very soft and humble. But this, you have to become hardness, but not now. Be thyself. Ride your horse of your breath, ascending and descending. Be aware of and be content with your horse. You are the rider. Sending and descending, prāṇa of the horse, mantra of the master, power of the masters, Eko’haṃ dvitīyo nāsti, eko brahma dvitīyo nāsti. And now, feel your abdomen. Let yourself know you are inhaling and exhaling. Feel the breath, the ascending and descending breath, with your mantra, Śānti. Deep inhale, and we will chant Oṃ, and with this resonance of the Oṃ, become aware, one with all the limbs of your body and your breath. Add yourself here. Deep inhale. Aum. And bend forward, touch your forehead to the ground, with your hands on the floor.
