Morning meditation from Auckland

A guided meditation on relaxation and inner journey.

Sit in Vajrāsana with the prescribed mudrā. Relax the elbows and neck to relax the entire trunk. Close the eyelids gently to relax the forehead and balance the nāḍīs. Release tension from the temples, ears, and back of the head. All that is needed is within; do not create external pictures. The ten indriyas are like ten horses that must be controlled positively to provide a clear inner path. If an indriya is tense, search within for the mistake in bodily tension. Relax the jaw to release all stress. Have no tensions or visualizations during meditation. Let prāṇa flow from the Mūlādhāra to the Sahasrāra and back. All feelings are within, to be released and purified. Be one with the cosmic Self, expanding and contracting in oneness. Feel coolness and peace at the Ājñā cakra. Experience inner sound and complete oneness.

"Everything you need is within yourself."

"All your indriyas are the horses—ten horses—and they are your best friends."

Hari Om. I have good news regarding your visa extension due to the coronavirus situation. We have contacted the relevant ministry, and it should be processed. Do not worry. Now, everyone, please sit in Vajrāsana. Assume the mudrā with palms facing upwards, the index finger gently touching the first part of the thumb. We will chant "Om." Relax your elbows and your neck; release all stress. Let your shoulders relax. When the elbows are relaxed, the whole trunk of the body relaxes. If the elbows are stretched, the whole back stretches. Close your eyelids gently. Do not create tension in your eyebrows. When the eyebrows are relaxed, the whole face relaxes. The forehead relaxes when the eyelids are relaxed. There should be no stress between the eyebrows. In this state, our Chandra and Sūrya nāḍīs become balanced and relaxed. When the forehead is completely relaxed, you will feel the temples on both sides of your head, a little above your ears. Try to release tension from your ears and from the back of the head. Your neck should be relaxed. Your ears should be relaxed. Everything you need is within yourself. Do not create any pictures or visions externally. Even with eyes open, we can see, but we remain within ourselves. Know that you are within yourself. There is a beautiful bhajan by Mahāprabhujī’s disciple, Maṅgīlālji, which speaks of the indriyas. We must control these indriyas in a positive way, not a negative one. Relax. We often call the ten indriyas the ten horses. These ten horses are your indriyas. It is your indriyas that can give you a clear, straight path within. Everything is within our Self. If you cannot control some of the indriyas, it means you must search within yourself again. Where is the mistake? It is a mistake of tension in the body, tension in your indriyas. If one indriya is still under tension, check yourself. Ensure everything is relaxed: the ears, the back of the ears, the eyebrows, and the forehead. Feel your breath flowing very gently. Your eyelids are very relaxed and clear. Your vision is within your cosmic path. Therefore, during meditation, have no tensions and no visualizations. Be thyself. Iḍā and Piṅgalā are flowing comfortably. But if there is still tension from one 'horse', relax your jaw. Do not grit your teeth. Immediately, everything will become relaxed and comfortable. All the stress, restlessness, and sorrows in our brain can be released with one force: relax your jaw. Relax. I am myself. Everything will awaken within thyself. The best path will take you. The path is sometimes beautiful, like very fine, clean sand, and sometimes there are rocks and thorns. That is life. But our visions and our energies are flying within your Brahmaloka. You are flying endlessly in your Self. Now, ascending and descending through Vraknala—this is where the yogī achieves everything. Ascending and descending energies, prāṇas, light, amartyā. Relax with inhalation and exhalation. Let the ascending and descending energy, the prāṇa, flow through the body. Forget everything. In this whole life, whatever we do, there will always be some problem. But the knowledge within thyself will clear up everything. Try to find your path within thyself. It is very peaceful, very good, a clear path. All your indriyas are the horses—ten horses—and they are your best friends. Let the prāṇa flow from the Mūlādhāra to the Sahasrāra chakra, from the bottom of the spine to the top of the head, and from the top of the head back to the bottom of the Mūlādhāra chakra. You are in your cosmic Self. Let the sorrows, restlessness, energy, and feelings remain outside. You are thyself. Be within you like Śaṅkarācārya: "I am myself, I am Śiva." Try to relax your whole body, all your organs. Be inside. Relax and travel within your whole inner being. All your horses—take care of them, control them with love, understand them. With this, let your energy flow with the chanting mantra, "Om"—not too loud, but sending and descending the resonance from the Mūlādhāra to the Sahasrāra. All feelings are within you, released and purified. It is like when it is very hot and you are sweating inside, but then, like air conditioning, your body suddenly becomes so clear. Everything is within you, slightly peaceful. I will chant, and you will chant. I will give an instruction, but you will continue this fine feeling from Mūlādhāra to Sahasrāra. Relax. Be one with thyself. There is someone who is with you, balancing, controlling, giving the path of the light, part of the feelings, great happiness, ascending and descending breath. Oh, that is the prāṇa, that energy flowing in ourselves, bonding the whole. The body, all five indriyas, the whole part, all kośas—Ānandamaya Kośa, Prāṇamaya Kośa, Vijñānamaya Kośa, Ānandamaya Kośa. Feel within yourself. Let it be, let it flow. Go ahead, beautiful. From the bottom up, ascending and descending, in joy, in your Brahman, cosmic, the whole, your cosmic, in yourself, flowing, flowing. Ātmā is continuously within you. This ātmā is dwelling in endless yourself. Beyond everything, you are expanding thyself. Feel it. Relax. Feel present and pleasant feelings. All sorrows are gone. Just be thyself. Yes. Go ahead from your lokas. All Brahman is in one place, from the top till the Mūlādhāra, and from Mūlādhāra till the top—one place. Now feel, go ahead in this home and on this path, with this Gurudev’s energy, Gurudev’s feelings, Gurudev’s blessings, Gurudev’s light, Gurudev’s universe of you—and you are that. You become one, the disciple and master, completely in oneness, feeble in oneness of clarity, light, peace, cosmic, ātmā, paramātmā, supreme ātmā. You are in this form, ascending and descending from Mūlādhāra to Sahasrāra. Go ahead. In this tathatā, see the Gurudev constantly. He is with you. Expanding and contracting, expanding and contracting—the energy, the whole body, everything. It means we are becoming one with the cosmic Self. Expanding—oh, let it flow, let it flow. Feel the coolness in the body. All the heat is gone, a pleasant feeling. Come to the Ājñā cakra, the eyebrow center, the forehead. Go ahead. Whatever visions or feelings are there in our Vajrāsana are yours. Our energy is controlled by Vajrāsana, controlled Vajrāsana, Vajranāḍī, opening the forehead, opening the light in the universe. Go ahead, mature this nādharūpa para brahma, slowly, slowly, deeper and deeper, peace, calm. Let the resonance be in your whole body, inside—only sound inside. How everything has become complete again, complete, complete. Sound only inside, no more sound outside. Oneness. Everything becomes oneness, relaxed. Oneness, everything. There is no two; there is only one: the He, the Supreme, and thyself—oneness. Now, place your middle finger on the eyelids—all three fingers gently on your eyes. Just gently, do not press, do not move, just touch your eyelids, opening our inner eyes. Now, fold your hands, and we will chant: Nāhaṁ Karatā Oṁ Naratā Prabhudīp Karatā Mahāprabhudīp Karatā He Kevalaṁ Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ Dhyāna Mūlaṁ Gurur Pratī Pūjā Mūlaṁ Guru Padam Mantra Mūlaṁ Guru Vākyaṁ Mokṣa Mūlaṁ Guru Kṛpā Again, with the help of the hands, come up. Eyes open. Hari Om.
