Devotion to Gurudev

The power lies in constant remembrance of the Satguru. This devotion transforms one's life.

Our Gurudev embodied this remembrance, repeating his mantra for eighteen conscious hours daily, even in sleep. Such devotion manifests as an inner light, which I witnessed. True devotees, like Mīrābāī, hold the divine in consciousness until ultimate union. A great blind saint exemplifies the Guru's grace; his profound knowledge came from devotion, not sight. The process is illustrated through the wasp and the worm. The wasp seeks a receptive worm to transform. Disciples exhibit three qualities: the negative one flees, the middling is inconsistent, and the superior one receives the teaching and vibration, ultimately becoming one with the master. Your life becomes successful through this remembrance. Perform your duties, but let your concentration be on the Guru's service. With that focus, you attain prosperity, happiness, and liberation. The divine light awakens in your heart through sincere practice. Do not wander aimlessly. Remembering the Guru crosses life's ocean.

There are two mistakes. Yes. Vandana. Vandana... Okay? Ārādhi Bhagavān Dīp Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī Kī Jai. Devādhi Deva, Deveśvara Mahādeva Kī Jai. Sadgurudev Kī Jai. This bhajan which was just now chanted and sung by our dear sisters Paras and Sushila, and the second one, Pushpa—these are the three bhajans I told you about. These bhajans were definitely composed by our Gurudev, Holy Gurujī, Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān. This bhajan is directed towards his Gurudev, Mahāprabhujī. We have seen many other sādhus and yoga practitioners, but very few possess that divine glory and devotion towards their Satguru Dev. There are some, of course. But our Gurujī, for 18 conscious hours, was repeating the mantra through meditation, through sitting, through lectures, walking, and so on. When he was aware, and also for the other six hours, he would not sleep so long. He also had his mantra constantly. He had his mālā; then a little later he fell into sleep, and the mālā was in his hand, and then the mālā fell down. But Gurujī’s fingers were repeating like this even when Gurujī was sleeping. I myself have seen Gurujī many times when I was young, in the schools and in Nepal, when I was going with Gurujī. Many times I saw Gurujī, and suddenly I was frightened because I thought under his blanket was a fire, such a strong light inside. I said, "Gurujī, Gurujī," and Gurujī said, "What happened?" I said it was a fire. No, no... fire, no. A Gurujī, Dev Mahāprabhujī kī prakāś, prakāś puñj harī. So these bhajans—only bhajans can do that, only one who has that kind of devotion. And devotion is also in the heart, and sometimes it is like a pain. But that pain is not that kind of pain, but still, there is a longing for that. Like Mīrābāī, how many bhajans by Mīrābāī, and she never saw Kṛṣṇa, but she had him in her consciousness, in her feelings, and then she saw him. It is said, in the last life of Mīrā, she was running around a forest, and she came to a temple, which was the temple of Kṛṣṇa and Mīrā. There she was very sad, but not that kind of sad that is pain, or anger, or anything like that. She went to the temple, and there was a dīpak light, and Mīrābāī was sitting there, and she said, "Now I will give myself a finish. I want to become one with you in your flame." And suddenly she fell down, and a flame came. Two flames became one, and the flame went, and Mīrābāī gave up her life. Her soul went with Kṛṣṇa. Similarly, everyone, there are many examples. Yesterday I was looking on Facebook, and he is a great saint, and by birth he is blind. He studied, he studied, he studied all the Sanskrit, complete, perfect. All four Vedas he learned by heart, and the Rāmāyaṇa. Any time in the night, while sleeping, you can say, "Swāmījī," and from that place, he will completely tell you, "Yes, this is this and this." Like this, he... And also the Bhagavad Gītā. Upaniṣads. There is no one who can beat him. This is a great saint. When I got Mahāmaṇḍaleśvar in Haridwar, Holy Gurujī was there. Holy Gurujī knew him so well; so many times Gurujī was going with him. There was a satsaṅg, and that great saint was also there. I met him for the first time, but I was sitting there. His Gurujī came, Gurujī sat there, and he is blind, but he said, only from his voice, his voice, "Come, I’ve sat in here." And he said, "Is your disciple with me? Come, come." He was pulling me very close to him. Well, I was there for the first time, and then our one bhakta, Gajananjī from Germany, was there. And then Gurujī said, "Gajanan, sing bhajan." And that Swamījī was so happy, so happy to listen to the bhajan. And then he was singing that bhajan, which was such a good bhajan, about Bhārat, about India, Dhan Dhan Ho. And so, when the bhajan was finished, that Swamījī goaded his hand and said, "Come here." He came and he hugged him. He had tears because he sang about Bhārat and the ṛṣis, which Gurujī has given this. So he is Cakṣu; eyes are not, but his knowledge—it is very few people you will find in India. He has great glory. He got Satguru, Brahma Guru, many things. He got something. And so that is called kṛpā. Guru kṛpā he kevalam. So, there was about, they were in some television or something, they were asking, not a television, but interviews. And interviews with Jhovas were great also. And he was asking questions from there to there. And he said, "Yes, that is on that page, there and there." And then someone told, "This is the Rāmāyaṇa written, this something." And he said, "Yes, but this is not that. What you are telling is great." He explained in such a way, otherwise people misunderstand. Now, this is a great, great Swāmījī. So you can imagine his knowledge. You can explain anything, ask him anything, he has... He learned everything, and he’s great, still there. In every Kumbha Melā, I try to come to see him. If I go to Kumbha Mela, I will go to him. This is a great, great saint. But this sādhanā, Guru Kṛpāhi, Kevalam Śiṣyake Ānand Maṅgalam. Śiṣyake Ānand Maṅgalam. And so is Gurujī’s bhajan, what it is there, Gurujī has said. So this is a very beautiful bhajan. Satgurū Ko Sumro Bhai, Terā Janam Safal Ho Jai. Hey, my brother, meditate, concentrate, devotions, etc. Satguru ko sumro bhai, day and night, remember your Gurudev, bhai. Bhai means brother, or we can say sister. Doesn’t matter, sister or brother. There should be no doubt, and maybe Gurujī can be angry. He can tell you many things, but his word is not a harsh word; it is sweet words. Another one can run away. That is, there are, Gurujī said, and there is written, Vajan Bhaumdev of Mahāprabhujī’s Vajan that. And in there it is written that there are three kinds of wasps, three kinds of wasps, like bees, but another kind. And they have the sound, mmm, these are the bees. So at that time, that one wasp is going and searching for someone to transform into a wasp. It is like a worm, and these are three kinds of worms. So this bee is going all the time. So this is called Brahmārī Mudrā or Brahmārī Prāṇāyām. Now, one worm is big and gets up and quickly runs under the grass somewhere, afraid. Then, quickly, quickly, running this worm in the grass. That wasp said, "This is not a real one. This is not my disciple running away." Then comes the other one. The third one comes and, singing, immediately also runs away, not hiding somewhere, but runs away. But the wasp is constantly searching, searching to get that into the wasp’s burrow. And then there is a wasp, one, and that is the burrower going, and there is something coming like a worm. And she stands on. She is standing, and again this one comes constantly there. Then, that kind of verse is this: they bring first from the mud, the waste mud which is water on it, and she brings it somewhere on the wall, or in some other part of some tree, mostly somewhere on the wall outside, not inside. And there he made a beautiful house. And there are so many holes, little, little. Otherwise, it is so thick, about half an inch or two inches. And that is like this inside. And it is very nice, neither hot nor cold. So then she comes again, and the wasp goes away. And again, this woman is standing and looking like that, one is completely in that kind of knowledge or sound. And again, she comes, and she goes again, like this. And now you can see here in our ashram, we have a few. They are very nice here, not this yellow, they are not, they are the other ones. And then she goes, "Distance," and that time the wasp is walking like this. Then the wasp said, "Yes, this will become the wasp." And she chased him and put him in that house. And there are one, two, three, four, five rooms inside, each for a different purpose. And then she is coming, and she gives, like, what we call the stick from the bees. And that becomes like meditation. After a while, again, it is a process. Disciple, look how the disciple is working so hard to make the disciple and make the master itself. That’s the truth. I’m not making a joke, Josie. And then she’s looking, and again coming, going inside, giving food, stick. And then, what is it that makes the disciple and guru the same? And so, the voice is going, "Hmmm," and that voice begins to say also, "Hmmm," both. And she slowly goes away, and she is inside, hmm. After a while, one hour, two hours, this wasp comes to that door and listens. And he listens to the sound, Brahmari, inside. She said, "Oh, now she will become the bohā." And then she gives her the stick again, and again she goes, "Mmm." That one is also making, mmm. Then she is going away without sound, again coming, then this different voice, and then she looks inside, the different movements, the winds come, and then she opens a little, opens a little hole, and then she, the mother or master, the guru, is going, and that wasp is jumping out with the feathers and flying behind. Far and far they go and sit somewhere in a very sweet flower. They are very nice, and they are both sitting, though both are standing in front of the flower, and they are talking, I think, and this becomes the same verse as the other one. That is called Guru and disciples. There are three qualities. So one is called Kaniṣad, Madhyam, and Uttam. Kaṇiṣad is negative, and third is sometimes yes and sometimes no. And suddenly, go away. He is coming. And so, Uttam means the best, pure, purity. Then it is said that which becomes the Guru, that’s it. Guru Varame Cha Lusa Unade. Then that Gurudeva Vesp said, "Gurudev, I will go with you." Uniyo Desh Mein Amṛt Hai, Uniyo Desh Mayanjarat Hai. Abtaguru Indra Surya, Satguru Indra Surya. Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ. Yugoslavian’s beach, this little, yeah, Chigani, Chigana, Chigani. So in Australia, there is so big, and once I want to, I want to stay there one month or twenty days and write my book, something book. Then when the sun rises, there is a sound. Oh God, day after day. I can’t teach the yogic program. We cannot meditate. We cannot speak. We cannot read. And they said, after three years or five years, that mother, they are in the wood bark. And after comes the mother, the body, but from the back of the body, that other, this chigar comes out. So there are many, many things. So, so is the Gurudev. The Guru is coming. Though one is not good, but still will try this life, next life, or something. But you don’t know where you will go, so all cannot be like that. This wasp, they are not biting. This is a very beautiful one. And so, if you have negative thinking, if you are angry, if you are many things, then you are not there. Doesn’t matter how it happens. I am Guruvarame Chalum Saunade. So, come on, everybody, for a while, try to become the best, everybody, okay? And all those who are listening, you should also sing there, okay? Yes, my resonance is in the whole world. My resonance is in Brasilia, my resonance is in China, in the whole world. Part Australia, everything, and Europe, Africa, everywhere this sound of this master is there. Who is listening? Who is not a disciple? Still, he will get, open his eyes. Yes, I want this, my Gurū Dev. And that Gurudev is not only for one, but if you are, then one is becoming that great one. That will be that. It is. And the second, you will not get that which you want to get. Even if you are the best of the best, you cannot get it, because there are two milestones still there. Two milestones, your two steps mean two breaths. In these two breaths, you can breathe or speak; then it is that one. But the same thing, but up and down, up and down, everything, everyone has something, but inner, that is very beautiful and good. Everybody, come on, mudra, go ahead. Everybody, according to your breath, more and more, go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. This is the time our neem tree is blossoming, so beautiful, and thousands of different kinds of bees are there. Many, many different kinds of bees, and that is so resonant, just exactly what you are. Yes, morning you should go near, but don’t bring your nose there because some bees can, Purījī, Purījī... And through this goes that resonance, that it is from behind where we have the hanging, what we call this, not nonsense, tonsil, tonsil... I don’t know what a tonsil is, anyhow, so there is a breath coming from down, and it is coming out, and that is running through both nostrils, Siddhā Piṅgalā, here on this part and exactly to the Bindu Chakra. Come on! So, according to the hidden powers in humans, in that book, from the different cakras and different deities, there are a lot of signs, or beautiful yogic signs, in this one. Very little point, but so much. But that disciple, that disciple is devoted, devotion, devotion... very good. I am devotion, I am devotion, devotion, I am, I am devotion, I am devotion, devotion, devotion,... Oṁ devotion, Guru devotion, Guru... Dev, don’t be angry please, devotion, devotion, mmm, mmm,... that’s it. So, it is said, "Satguru ko sumro bhai, terā janam saphal ho jai." Therefore, Satguru ko sumro, sumro means day and night, in any way, in any questions, in anything, remember, remember and get it. Bhai means brother, do this, or sister. Tera janam safal ho jāī, what Gurujī said. Tera janam, our life, will be perfect, complete. Safal ho jāī. We will be successful. All kinds of success. All. But don’t jump yourself; rest and eat and this. No. You have your profession. Yes, you must do your profession. Your food, yes, you should eat your good food. Walk, you should go for a walk. Everywhere. But there is that Brahmaloka. Yeah, what is that then? Jo Satguru kā dhyān lage. Those who will concentrate on the Gurujī all the time, like Brahmrī. Yes. Jeevan Mukti Pai, and that one will get the liberation, Mukti, Mukti, Mukti. There is even Mukti here. Who is Mukti? You are a Mukti here, no. Shakti, Bhakti, Mukti, yeah, I have Mukti, yeah, in, in,... In Vienna, there is a Mukti, and also in Slovenia, okay. Many, many Mukti. Hey, I have Mukti here also. My cow babies are there, one of those. Yes, and you know, we have Nāgeśvara. And you cannot imagine, Nageshwar came to me, and he didn’t want to go away at all, and I was with him. And he was so, so divine. And mother came back. Mother said, "Let’s go, cow, yeah?" And you don’t want to move, and then I brought the chapattis. And there were two chapattis, good. Both mother ate. He had no idea. He had no concentration about chapattis. He was with Swamījī. That is something divine. They are all divine souls. Maybe they are from another life. They were bhaktas, but still something was missing, so they came for seva. Yes, it can come. You know, I’m not in the dogs, so friendly, or I’m the friendliest, but I don’t want it always. But as soon as I saw the four, and suddenly it was in me, and I talked, I got these three or four little puppies, and they are now so nice. Every animal is very nice. All is good. Love is love. But don’t be like a dog. When you love one dog and the second dog comes, mmm, my God. This means that this is a dog, dog, dog nature. Then that’s why, Gurudev, again will say you are separated, again separate. Anyhow, very good. Jo Guru Sevā Meṁ Cit Lāī. If your concentration, your devotion, your everything, it will be in Gurudev’s Sevā. And you know that we have many Seva disciples, many, many Seva. And those who are sometimes in seva, they fall down again, then they fall into the, how? So in a water well, we send one basket with a rope, and we get the water. We pull the water, and water, and after that, one meter left, the rope goes. You leave this rope, again it will go. Therefore, it is so, it’s called, jo guru sevā chitalai, concentration, concentration, ush jamro kā ḍarā nahī, and that one has no more fear from the Yamarājas. A Yama is one who comes here and takes persons to kill and let them be taken up. That is good. But they don’t have any fear because Gurudev was there. To Hṛddī, Siddhī, Śukha Pāī O Bhāī, O my brother, O my bhakta, Hṛddī, Siddhī, and Sukha—prosperities, happiness, pleasant—this is Gurudev. Tere sab ānand ho jāī. Then all your ānanda, you will be ever for the ānanda. If someone will say, "Hey, stupid man," he said, "Okay, thank you. Yes." If somebody will shout something, he said, "Okay, thank you. That’s it." If someone steals from me, okay, if you take from my hand, okay, in my brain, in my heart, in my navel, and in my everywhere, Gurudev or God has given me all. They can take from my hands, but not from my brain or my heart. If you will kill my heart and this, I will go with my soul with the same, that kind of it. Pavo ghaṭme jyot savai, kar sādhana sādhanā jab mil jai. And therefore, pavo ghaṭme jyot savai. Then in our heart, when you make mantra mālā, definitely you will feel the light in your heart. Not that light like this. This is a baba outside. This is not a light, not that sunlight, not that moon. Light is that divine insight, peace, love, respect, everything. Pāvo ghāṭ me jyot savāy, kar sādhanā japo melā jāy. And so, by the Gurudev’s kṛpā, kar sādhanā sab mil jāy. So do the sādhanā, practice, practice what Gurudev goes, and that sab mil jāy. Everything, you will get everything that you want. But don’t say that I want to become stupid. No, no... no. I want to drink alcohol. No, no, no. I will meet. No, no, no. Not like this. So we have to become good. Mat Bihira Bhatko Bhai, Kiyo Baram Jal Buljait, Śrī Dīp Dayālu Ko Dhyāve. So therefore, you should repeat and repeat on Bhagavān, Dīp Nārāyaṇa, Mahāprabhujī. Gurujī said, "Sab Mana Accha Phal Pai." So whatever you wish to have, you... You will get everything. Mahāprabhujī will give everything. Ya Mahādvānanda Satgave Holy Gurujī said, "I am telling you the truth, what I am saying about my Guru." Thaane Sachee Baat Batai, that I have told you the truth, the truth, bhajan, the story of this. So, bhajans, this is coming from the glory of Gurujī. Satgurū kahiṁ vicāriyā samarā. This was bhajan, Holy Gurujī, Mahāprabhujī. And that was early morning Brahma Loka, Devpurījī Mahārāj, Devpurījī Bhagavān in Kailāśa, in Kailāśa Āśrama, Brahma Loka, two hours before sunrise, Devpurījī, he went to the Śiva Loka. And Mahāprabhujī called the Holī Gurujī and said, "And Gurujī," Mahāprabhujī was a little bit emotional. There was no telephone, nothing. But Mahāprabhujī, no, now Gurujī is going. And so Gurujī, Mahāprabhujī said, "Satguru Kahi Bisriya Samahara Jag Dariya Vaya Thang Jal Bharia Jag Yad Athang Jal Bharia Adh Bich Chal Rahi Jai Satguru Kahi Bisriya Samahara." O my Satguru Dev, why are you separated? Jag Daryāva Aṭhaṅga Jal Bhariyā, this sansāra, this world, is that ocean. And advichār jal rai merī jahāj, and my boat is in the middle of the ocean. Gurudev, I will come cross that ocean. Who said, Mahāprabhujī? Nahīṁ jānu, ab sab jānu, sunalo. You will sing bhajan, okay? Gajānandikā problem, Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān kī jai. So one bhajan more and then finished. I want to give you meditation, but this was more than meditation, no? Come on, Guru Go. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān, Devādhi Dev, Deveśvara Mahādeva, Satguru Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān, Satya Sanātana Dharma, Oṁ Śānti, Śānti, Śānti. Vishwaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, Svāmī Maheśvarānandajī, Mahārāj, Kī Jai.
