Mataji was pure form of Love

Today is the Mahasamadhi day of the divine mother, Sadhvi Shri Purnanand Bhartiji.

She was a synonym of love. A child brought here at six hours old was first held by her. She sat under the neem tree near the Shiva temple, doing her mala. She always had prasada. Whoever came, she welcomed, saying 'aobheta.' She bit out of affection, then gave prasada. Her love was pure, unconditional, like all mothers. She gave birth to a great spiritual light, Vishwaguruji, who dispels ignorance like the sun. All children are equal to her, as rivers merge in the ocean. She departed from this world and merged into cosmic light. She is always present in astral form, blessing. Circumambulate her shrine nine times, and wishes are fulfilled. Remember her love, and give freely from your heart. She was not an ordinary mother; she brought a solar-like divine being to Earth. We offer salutations to her lotus feet.

"Māṭājī was a synonym of love."

"For her, all children are equal; just as all the different rivers—Gaṅgā, Yamunā, Kāverī, Sarasvatī—flow in different ways but all merge into the ocean."

Purījī, Ogirāj, Kī Jai. Hari Om. Good evening, dear brothers and sisters around the world who are watching the live webcast today and who are sitting in front of us. First of all, I would like to offer my salutations to our beloved Gurudev, Vishwagurujī. As you all know, today is the Mahāsamādhi day of our beloved holy mother, Matajī, whom we call Viśvagurujī’s dear mother, Sadhu Shri Purnanand Bhartiji. We celebrate this day every year in remembrance of her. So today, Vishwagurujī gave me a chance to speak a little bit about her. I would like to share some of my experiences with Māṭājī. When I was first brought here to the ashram by Vishwagurujī, I was quite small—six hours old. The first person who took me in her arms was our dear Māṭājī, right in front of the Śiva temple. She was a really loving and caring person. Many of you met her when she was staying with us here in the ashram, living with us. If she could create someone so holy and so divine, then imagine how divine she was. We were really blessed to have her with us and be in her presence for many, many years. All of you who were with her, you were all very blessed. As today is her Mahāsamādhi day, we all should remember her and pray. She is always with us, always present—not maybe in her living form, but in her astral form. She is always here with us, blessing us. We are all blessed to have her, and that is what I would like to say. Thank you very much, and now we will enjoy some bhajans and maybe Viśvagurujī’s speech. Thank you. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jai. English, as Swāmī Avatārapurījī said very nicely: Māṭājī was a synonym of love. Whenever anyone came, Māṭājī was there, sitting on her palanquin and doing her mālā. This was because Gurujī, Swami Maheśvarānandajī, gave Matajī the opportunity in her last years to be in the āśram and do the mālā to get ready to go to a higher level of consciousness. So, she was sitting near the Shiva temple, under the neem tree, on the palank, and she always had prasāda with her. Whoever came, she would say, "Āobheta, āobheta," and when we came near, she bit us out of love, out of affection. We knew that, and then we got prasāda. It was so much love, so much love that it is difficult to describe. A mother’s love is pure, in pure affection, in pure form. She would sit and do the mālā all day, and we would walk around doing some sevā for her. Those were beautiful days. So, I may say we were very lucky that Māṭājī spent her last years in the āśram, giving us her affection and her blessings. As it is said, whoever has a hidden wish or a request should make nine circles around this temple, and that wish will be fulfilled. Matajī is here, giving her loving love—mother’s love—and blessings to all of us. Śrīdīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jeho. Greetings from Jāḍ and Āśram, and praṇām Viśvagurujī, brothers and sisters. Today we are remembering Swāmijī’s Divine Mother, and also all mothers, and the essence of the mother’s unconditional love. That energy is always aware of the needs of all living creatures. We had some pūjā now at the Dhūnī, and now we will enjoy some bhajans and maybe some words from Swāmījī. So much love to you all, and I hope that you remember the love from your own mother. Also, if you have children, give freely from your heart to everybody. Hari Om. And to the divine mother Pūṇyānand Bhāratījī Mahārāj, I bow down to his holy lotus feet. Today is the day when our mother, Puṇyānand Bhārtījī Mahārāj, departed from this material world and merged into the cosmic light. Vah din aaj hain, jān. Bhagavatī Savarūp Mātā Puṇyānand Bhāratījī Mahārāj, jīn kī puṇya tithi aaj hain, unke charaṇon mein sat-sat naman karte hain. Jai Bhagavatī Mātā ne īśvarīya svarūp, svayaṁ Śiva ke svarūp, apne Gurudev, Viśvaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśwar Paramahaṃswāmī Maheśwarānand Purījī Mahārāj ko avatārit rūp meṃ is dharatī par padārpaṇ karvāyā. Āj unkī puṇyatithi ke rūp meṃ hum yahāṃ upasthit hue haiṃ. Mā Bhagavatī ke caraṇoṃ meṃ naman karte haiṃ. Divine Mother, we miss her very much. It was good luck for me when I came here in 2001 to Vishwadeep Gurukul, Education Research Center, Jadan Pali, Rajasthan, in this Ashram. At that time, Holy Gurujī was here and Vishwagurujī also, but from time to time, Vishwagurujī and Holy Gurujī would go to other places. I have been to many places for satsaṅg, and I was here for one year. We have many, many bhaktas around the world—foreigners. I did not know with whom I should sit, as I did not understand the English language at that time. My Gurudev and Dādā Gurudev, both of them, would go to other places, and I would feel lonely. When they were here, I was with them, going here and there, doing my best to serve Gurudev and Holy Gurujī. But when they went to other places and I was here for one year, I would see, from time to time, my Divine Mother. She would always say, "Pulpuri, come here, you are my sweet boy. Mitha beta, please come, sit here. You are my sweet children, come here, sit with me, and give me prasāda." I felt so much love that I cannot imagine it, and I cannot describe it in words. The love given by our Mātājī was divine light. For her, all children are equal; there is no duality. Just as all the different rivers—Gaṅgā, Yamunā, Kāverī, Sarasvatī—flow in different ways but all merge into the ocean, in the same way, for a mother, all children are equal. It was good luck for me that, from time to time, I could do whatever I managed for her seva. When she departed from this world, I missed her very much. So today is her samādhi day, and we are here to celebrate it. The first time after her samādhi, Viśvagurujī was here. Then, after many years, in 2011, he departed for a long time. Viśvagurujī is present here today at the samādhi place, and you can see how beautifully he built the temple here. They are called Śrī Siddha Śakti Pīṭh. "Śrī" means prosperity, and "Siddhi" is where we pray, where we do our mantras and anuṣṭhāna to get the Śakti, spiritual Śakti, divine Śakti—that is called Siddhi. "Peetha" is the place where the Divine Mother, the Holy Soul, lives. So, Viśvagurujī gave me the opportunity to share my experience and my feelings. Today, we are here at her samādhi place. To all those listening around the world, this is her prayer, and Viśvagurujī’s blessing to all, and Mother’s blessing to you all. Today we are here. Please, you should also pray to Mother; you will get blessings from her side. Yeh koī sādhāraṇ mātā nahīṁ thī.
