What means destiny?

The practice of Aum moves through the chakras with prāṇa. Chanting extends beyond three repetitions. The numeral system uses nine digits and the essential zero, invented in India. The sound for the number nine often relates to 'N' across languages. The Earth is a globe, first lifted from the ocean by the Varāha avatāra. Destiny is pre-written by Vidhātā, a divine power, for every being at birth. This script is immutable; life events, including survival, follow its decree. Ancient scriptures, primarily in India, contain this knowledge. An extended story illustrates that even the powerful Rāvaṇa could not alter the destined marriage for his daughter. Therefore, one should not worry excessively. Perform your sādhanā and duties. Destiny ultimately rests with God and may be transcended through yoga practice over time.

"Destiny is yours, mine, anyone's—your dog, your cow... What is in the destiny is already written therein."

"What she writes, no one can change. Yes, no one can run from it."

Today, we will all chant Aum together, and this is now included in the Anuṣṭhāna program. We are completing what we began last year. This practice moves from chakra to chakra and involves the energies of prāṇa—it is the real chanting of Oṁ. Generally, we chant three AUMs, which is what everyone does. We also chant AUM, but that is only half. Now we should learn: chanting 11 times is very good, or 21, or 25, and so on. Now, regarding numbers: in our counting, we do not put a zero. But it was an Indian professor, or whatever you may call him, who gave us this zero. It solved all problems. There are only nine numerals, and then there is a zero. With that, we can count as much as we want, but it always comes back to the zero. Zero is like nothing. Therefore, there are nine. This is number one. Second, you know—and we know in many languages, even those we don't speak, like Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Austrian, French, British, Sanskrit, etc.—he gave the insight that there is one letter everyone uses. Whether you speak Hungarian, French, or Russian, among the many, many languages, one letter is in all. Everyone has to use that letter. So, the number nine. I will say it in Sanskrit: "nava." How do you say it in Czech? And in Hungarian? It all comes to the sound "N." Yes, our pronunciation is a little different, but if you ask for the letter, how you are pronouncing it is "N." No, no, no. Similarly, after that comes the zero. That zero gives us the comfort that we can count further. But the zero is only zero. That zero is what we call the whole globe, which is many ages old. There was someone knowledgeable about Sanskrit and prophecies, but I don't know his name. He said the whole globe is round. Before that, when we speak of God... How many gods do we have now? Up to 24? There are 23, and the 24th is coming now, the Kālī Avatāra. When that Kālī Avatāra comes, he will come riding on a horse. Further, you know, everything will come. In the first era (vāre), if we were on the globe, the whole earth was covered in water; the land was not outside. God, as Varāha, he has horns here. That God, Varāha, brought the globe out from the ocean. That is the beginning of God's names and everything. There are also the yogīs and yoga. They have their counting about each birth, from day to day. It is given from birth to death. It is written. Before you are born, you are already there. When this ātmā, the soul—the Jīvā—enters the mother's womb, that is the birth. Now you are in, let's say for animals, in a human body. That is that. After that is what we call destiny. How is it in that destiny? It is also written. Holī Gurujī was telling one very nice message. He explained what will be our destiny. If our destiny is written, we say that was our destiny, or that only was our life. That which gives us destiny is called the Vidhātā (or Veimātā). So this is one Māta, she is a part of God. It is her duty to write in our kismat. You know kismat, no? Who doesn't know kismat? Okay, so what is the next name for kismat? Destiny. So, you know destiny? Yes. The destiny is yours, mine, anyone's—your dog, your cow, your horse, your buffalo, your cat, your mouse. All, it doesn't matter who. Whoever will be born will be dying. And what is in the destiny is already written therein. There are different elements. One is water, so destiny is the water. Everything is in the water. Then it is called Jalchar, the old animals or everything which is in the water. We came later. All these elephants... they didn't come. It was first inside, like a Varāha and a fish. Yes, and you know that in some kind of European lore, they see a body, half human and half fish. Did you see that somewhere? Yes. So that is: first was the fish, and from that came the other body—also humans or the horse. Yes. So this is that time when we are coming and looking and thinking. The destiny, she writes everything. She gets the order from the highest and is told, "Destiny Mata, write this, their destiny." What she writes, no one can change. Yes, no one can run from it. If you think your destiny was to die accidentally, but you are in the hospital and remain alive, how? Because destiny has written that you will still live. Whether you are ill or very well, an accident or not—that is also in the destiny. That we should all know very much. There are letters, many written, many scriptures. What is written, many things in India—nowhere else is there such writing. And still, only that is written in India. There were many scriptures, very, very old, very, very ancient. The first university was in India. But when the Muslims went, the Mughals, they entered India, and one of them said, "I will destroy all the scriptures." He killed many people, or forced them to become Muslim. In Allahabad, you know Allahabad where we are in Kumbh Melā? There is a very big castle. The Mughal king said, "I want to wash my body with warm water, but only with all these Hindu scriptures burned to make the water, fire or water, warm water. I will wash myself with warm water." You don't know these old stories. They keep it. Also, in your countries in Europe, there were also many, many good things. All kings tried to keep it. So this is the destiny. All is destiny. Destiny can be that first you come through an egg, and then from the egg comes the body. There are many eggs in the water. And there are some creatures born like us. So the destiny mother, it is she—mostly always the females—is a great power, and we cannot fight against destiny. A surgeon comes, a doctor comes, gives an injection, performs an operation, and gives life again. And then they said, "The destiny..." What did you say? She said, "Yes, it is my destiny that he is still living. Doctors, professors, everybody, they were working because my permission is that he still has to be alive. Those doctors succeeded only because I, as destiny, allowed him to still live." You know, there was the time of the god Rāma. At that time, Rāvaṇa was a Brahmin, a very great reader. He was very learned. He had immense power, all knowledge and many, many things. But he had negative thoughts, and that destroyed everything—his whole family and everything. In Sri Lanka, where he was... Rāvaṇa. You know the constellations? Rāvaṇa said, "All constellations stay on my wing. Anything you want to go against me, I will put it under." All goddesses, all under his foot—a lot of knowledge and everything. He had ten heads because he was killed many times, but again his head came back. That’s why it’s called Daśaharā, the festival. "Daśa" means ten. So he had ten times that his head was cut, but again he came back. And so, for long years, ages, all were under him. If he wanted to bring something from Czech, that’s it. Yes, no one could go on the way. He would not go; he would give up our order. Such power. Do you want that? Even in the Himalayas, many, many ṛṣis were there. You should know about that. You should read that book in the Rāmāyaṇa. Anyhow, let’s come further. He had many children, and his wife was very nice, very great. Rāvaṇa was sitting outside on a nice platform. Someone was entering his palace, not visible—an astral body. It was Vidhātā, destiny. He said, "Who?" Rāvaṇa. "Who are you there?" She said, "My salutation to you, Rāvaṇa. I am the destiny." "Where are you going?" "I am going to your palace." "Without my permission?" she said. "I am the destiny." "Oh, you are? You don’t know who is Rāvaṇa?" She said, "I know. I brought you also through my destiny." Can you imagine what is the power of women? But now they are lost. Yes, but still hidden in them, that’s called the Śaktis. But the Śaktis have to follow all discipline, all purity, and not just anything. A lion is a lion. A lion will not eat anything, but a cat will eat everything: eggs and this and that. So this is different, but many of you could be like that. Anyhow, Rāvaṇa said, "Where are you going?" "To Rāvaṇa, the king, your wife is giving birth, and it will be the one who will give birth. I can give it to you now or when she comes." "Okay, go. When the birth of my child is there, what will you write for my child’s destiny?" He said, "That I cannot. Why are you going there?" She said, "It is in my hands." "What is that?" "My pencil. With my hand, the destiny writes. Now I cannot tell you. I don’t know how it will be." It’s a real story, not something. Well, Rāvaṇa said, "When my child is born, when you go, can you tell the destiny of my child?" "Yes, that I can do." So, he comes back. "Vidhātā, tell me, what is my child there?" "It’s a beautiful, beautiful daughter." "I know my daughter. She’s a daughter, the best, beautiful children, my great. But what is written in her brain? Kismat." "Yes, I’m sorry, I did not write it myself. It’s my pencil, and that was moving from the highest." "What is? Don’t make time. What is the luck of my daughter?" "Comfortable, beautiful, everything. But..." Rāvaṇa said, "What is a ’but’?" "It is about her husband. Yes, my daughter’s marriage will be to the greatest of the greatest person." She said, "Your daughter’s husband, the child, the man, will be from the hand. His legs are very like this. He cannot work. Our hands will be like that, and we look like that. And when he will speak, water falling from my mouth, and not so beautiful." Rāvaṇa said, "I will put you under my feet." She said, "That’s not in your destiny." She went. Rāvaṇa was so angry, but he had no power further. He said, "Destiny? I will show you that my daughters' most beautiful husband will be then. I will show you again, and I will push you under my feet." "Hey, destiny," she said, "you can try." Look, should I continue this story, or tomorrow? So the girl was beautiful. The daughter was very nice, very learned, everything. Now Rāvaṇa said, "He sends nice paṇḍits, brāhmaṇas. Please search anywhere in the world for a beautiful, beautiful boy and a very rich father, as a king." They were searching, they were searching. Well, what happened on her birthday? That girl, there was a young boy. When she was born, there was one boy, and he was not very good. It was from another king, it is said, some king who had no children. There was a sweeper cleaning the streets, and he got a child, and the child was not so good. It seems they were unhappy. So what they did, they put the child in a wooden box with grass on the side. Someone put it in the ocean, so from a far distance, through the other child’s crown, to the other beach or whatever, we can soar. So, on that side, there was a king, very great, and his kingdom was there. The queen and he went in the water. They had no children. The queen and the king were swimming, and they saw something. The king said, "Oh, there is something coming." The queen said, "Oh, beautiful." So the king said, "This box is mine." His wife said, "What is inside is mine." Destiny—I’m talking about destiny, my dear. That child, who was handicapped, was somewhere else, and he came until here, so the king took it home. All was taken care of, and the boy was good. Now, Rāvaṇa sent messengers to find the best husband for his daughter. My God, they said, what to do? Whatever boy they brought, he said, "No, no, I don’t like it." So one day, they found this king. He had a big kingdom also, and his son—what is beautiful, that I want. "Can I see?" The king would not show his son, that beauty. "How many girls are standing there?" He said, "Oh, how and when? You will see." So I have to sort. And so they came. And the king said, "For my daughter’s wedding, many, many beautiful things are there. What is the marriage?" He called many kings from many, many cities, and these, and these music, and these, and that. Rāvaṇa is always sitting, "Oh, I am so happy." So they brought the boy. "Can we go to see this worker on the Brahmin seat? Your Highness, please, don’t humiliate these boys. They will go back." Okay, so they made a marriage. Will he stand? You tell this. No, he is sitting like this, while Mary is in everything, sitting like this. So they married and everything, and then they gave a beautiful palace for the daughter and this boy. The people who were there brought him, they disappeared anywhere, and they put this boy on a very nice place, some good bed or something, what do you call it? And that girl comes, and Rāvaṇa also is coming to, "I want to see my, my son’s husband." And three persons lift him up like this, looking like that. And Rāvaṇa says, "What is this? Is he the husband of your daughter? Where is your destiny?" She said, only with voice, "I told you, my destiny, no one can take it away." Therefore, Rāvaṇa was also not successful. So, my dear, I’m talking about destiny. Don’t go here and there, and there’s a husband and there’s a girl and there’s a boy and this and that. No. Better not to worry. Marry? Your destiny will bring that. But take time. So even Rāvaṇa could not change destiny. So that is what we are talking about: we have destiny. In many ways, not that destiny will not be. After some time, it will go away through yoga practices. So don’t worry. It is it. Everyone, God will give. What? The little ant and the big elephant—it is God. He will give to all creatures. The destiny is in the hand of God. Why are you worried? Just do your sādhanā, do your work. Everything will come, and that will be the best. Be dead? Someone has destiny. There are lots of impurities because, many times, animals' life and animals have different destiny. But we are human. So, from many, many ages, our past lives now have this destiny: that within thyself, not in myself, get your peace, harmony, good things, etc. So, in that, we should do something. Who wants to have marriage and this? Don’t ask me tomorrow, not today. So it is great, it is very great. Therefore, what we should do, O Mahāprabhujī, we know what we will do. Please, we will worship our destiny. We make a light of that Śrīdīpna and Bhagavān Dev Puruṣa Mahādeva Satguru Swāmī Madhvanājī, Bhagavān Indra Dharma Samrāṭ Satguru Swāmī Madhavananājī, Bhagavān kī Satya Sanātana Dharma kī.
