We are different but we are one

A spiritual talk on ancient lineage, ṛṣis, and living masters.

"Our ṛṣi paramparā comes from Śiva—Alak Purīdhī, Satya Yoga. We are so blessed to have received blessings from that time, from the Satyuga."

"And so the ṛṣis were very great, and they gave us all as that: we are different, but we are one."

Swami Maheshwarananda offers a praṇām to the lineage, tracing it from Śiva and the Satyuga through the saptarṣis. He describes the ancient, natural lifestyle, the role of incarnations like Vārāha, and the unifying wisdom of the ṛṣis for all humanity. He shares personal experiences, including visions of Ālakpurījī in the Himalayas and miraculous accounts of Devapurījī, concluding with a poignant story about a banyan tree as a witness, told to him by his Guruji.

First, we shall remember and offer our praṇām to our lineage. Our ṛṣi paramparā comes from Śiva—Alak Purīdhī, Satya Yoga. We are so blessed to have received blessings from that time, from the Satyuga. That era was not a different kind of religion; it was for the whole world, the entire globe. At that time, there were not so many humans. They were not so civilized. They were living in the rocks, in nice forests, under the trees, making themselves some kind of hut. But they led a very good life. I think at that time, Śiva did not always cut his beard, and they did not have such different kinds of dress. And at that time, they did not know how to live as happily. In one way, it was very happy, very natural, very divine. But at that time also, humans were killing humans—in many countries, in many forests, in the ocean, on what we call the tapu (islands). There were very few humans, it is said. I have not seen that, but there is telling. For example, near New Zealand, and there was also... they were killing humans for human blood. In Fiji, before, let's say, eighty or even sixty years ago, at that time many did not have that kind of knowledge of learning, reading, etc. But it came from that old, old time near the Himalayas. And like in South India, they were writing and learning Sanskrit. So there, in between, was a very holy saint, and they were protecting all. And I think they got the knowledge, what we call yoga. And in yoga, they mean not only these movements. They were running, they were walking, they had no shoes, and they were healthy. But at that time, maybe, I think they were also getting animals to eat. But then, slowly, slowly, they came to understand more, became civilized, etc. But those ṛṣis, they were only living from the fruits and vegetation. And so they also had mantras, and that's what they were doing: yajñas. So at that time, there were more meditations, and humans were getting the science in their inner self through their own understanding. So, yoga means not only postures and prāṇāyāma, but everything is called yoga. And at that time, it was Śaṅkara Bhagavān Śiva who brought everyone towards living life. And so we call them ṛṣis. And from time to time, what we call God... So, twenty-five ages was that one after the incarnations. So it is a long time, and it is said that our Earth was under water. That first incarnation, who brought this Earth out, and that ṛṣi was what is called the Vārāha Avatāra. You know that all. So he brought from his hand, near from his teeth, from Vārāha, something like a pig. But pig and Varāha are different. So he brought the Earth up from the ocean. And then it was, it begins on the ocean just like a balloon. So this is from the Vārāha Avatāra. Now, till here, we are waiting for the Kalkī Avatāra. And so the time has come, they said. There is our Mahāprabhujī's disciple, Maṅgīlālji. He wrote a very nice bhajan, and often I would say two or three words, I would give, and then give up. So it will be, I think, I shall take this bhajan and learn it, and then give you perhaps the message about that knowledge. Our Ālakpurījī is very, very ancient. At that time, there were no incarnations of the gods—neither Rāma nor Kṛṣṇa, nothing like this before. Also, the Pāṇḍavas, when they were going, there was the Alaknandā River. That time was the Kṛṣṇa also, and before that was the Rāma. So there is step by step; those great ṛṣis were with them, and incarnations were with them. And that incarnation is time to time. But the ṛṣis, they were constantly with us, and so the reality is there. That is from the ṛṣis and saptarṣis. And so it doesn't matter from which part of the earth humans are. They are, in such a great sense, very different in a way. So Maṅgalājī's bhajan said, "When the Mahāpralaya will come"—you know what Mahāpralaya is? The earth will go down, or it will be fire. Or maybe it is that in every direction, there will be sun. The heat will burn many different things. But we hope still the time is not that. So in Maṅgyālāljī, he said in his bhajana that those who are very spiritual people—bhakti, vairāgya, jñāna, etc., guru-kṛpā—they will, before this Mahāpralaya, they will go into the maximum, what you call... Not the heaven, but into the Supreme Cosmic Self. They will not suffer. They will not cry. They will give their body off, and they will come to the Brahmaloka. Those who are following from generation to generation... So, from which time when God was there? So in that, it is a very important and very interesting thing. It doesn't matter if it's children or old people. Some of our ancestors are still not here. They passed away, and they are still in other places of the universe. So our ancestors also, they will come to the Cosmic Self. So we have that in our paramparā. And other paramparās also, not only from Ālagpurījī; this is only one. Similarly, there are many. And in the three months when I was in Jadana, I was searching for my ancestors. And that's what we call the Brahmin. That Brahmin, you can say, after, before was not named. That was like ṛṣis. So, you know, everybody, the seven ṛṣis. And all seven ṛṣis, they are in the sky when we see seven stars there. Many different countries are telling about this. But in the Vedas, what is written, it is that the seven ṛṣis are in the form of those stars, and these seven ṛṣis are the ancestors of all people. From which ṛṣis, and how are the others? How are they, the children? Or what are you? Not the children. That one ṛṣi is children, going more and more and more. How do you call it? And we saw that, if you remember, we had a Mahābhārata, we saw the lecture once, and on the Śiva Purāṇa. And that is how Brahmā comes. And Brahmā creates this generation of the humans. And that kind of, that was seven ṛṣis. So that means that it is our ages and ages, but still we have our, that we are that, my families. You know that Australia is very far, but it is connected with the Indian Ocean. And now, many, many scientists are researching everywhere. So, in Australia, what they call the old people, what they call the Aborigines. And these Aborigines, they say that it is from India, like from the South India side, and still they have the same kind of science, knowledge, and other traditions. They are a little dark, like in South India. So they take the stone and make the paste, and they're making tilaks here on the cheeks, on the arms, under arms, on the stomach, on the thighs, like this. And they have such a dance. This is something like that, so there is something there, and so. The genes of the Indians and the Aborigines are the same. Similarly, maybe in other countries, somewhere must be also. But they always call them different things. So in America, and America is, this one America is just that part, but in Canada, further, and there are many, many: Mexico, etc. And there is also what they call the Indian. So these seven ṛṣis, and where these seven ṛṣis, the Brahman said, and so the creation comes like that. And so the ṛṣis were very great, and they gave us all as that: we are different, but we are one. Therefore, you also had many people from there, and you had people there in Italy, Croatia, and all around that area before. Who was that? Who brought, made this Roman? The Roman. But the Romans, Jains are still there. They are here. But we have put many things inside. But still, there are some generations that are following it from generation to generation. And so, in India, they kept a lot about it like this. And what we call also in different countries here in Europe, and we are still coming together, they are together. So, if it is said, when humans will completely lose everything, then many diseases come and they die quickly. Age will be very little, etc., many, many things. So we have to understand, and we should really keep our lineage very clear. And so, our, from Ālāgpurījī... and I have not seen him, I saw only some visions. I was four times in the Himalayas, there, at Ālagpurījī's roots. And it's about 8 or 20, yeah, all in all, about 20 kilometers. It's called Ālagpurījī Glaciers, and it is Ālagpurījī's, what's called, capital. And that capital, that capital of the Ālagpurījīs, where we are, in that, our Ālagpurījīs' cave and so on. So the citizen of the Jalakpurījī, but how far was it as his whole territory? So it comes also to the Himalayas and to Śiva's big mountain with the glaciers. So some of our disciples went with us, and many will go; it will continue. And so on the glaciers and the rocks, at a certain time, Ālāgpurījī saw some kind of glimpse in me. And I also told some of our disciples, "Look, that is Ālāgpurījī's face." Some wrote pictures, but could not get anything suddenly. Some we caught, we saw it. And in these three years, we are trying to catch the Ālakpurījī. And so, some of our disciples here, now I am making some kind of picture. And I hope that very soon we will distribute to everybody. So then, this is our Bhagavān Devapurījī. And so Devapurījī is also a very great miracle, yes. He saw the same body many times at the same time in different places. So, we are grateful that we could see this face of Devapurījī. Great. Such things that one can do, I don't hear now of anyone, but Ālagpurījī was there. Devapurījī was there, Devapurījī, sorry. We said there was this one in South India, Sai Baba, who was making some kind of dust and like this. And they are giving some gold, and this and that. I cannot tell anything because I cannot; I have not seen that. And maybe he is a great... Who am I to say that it was not good? But our Devapurījīs, especially in Kathu and there, these people, and Kailash and so on, there are still some people who are still living. What Devpurījī made was so miraculous, and not as something showing you. But we saw what happened with him, what he could do. The dead he can wake up again, make him life. And still there is one lady, and she came last year to Kailash, and she comes to see me. And she is from Kailash, you know, when she was a few years old, a little girl. And she died, and Devpurījī gave her life. And she is still there, so she came to see me. Who is the Maheśvara Ānanda? And who brought me life, Devapurījī? And they said, "Now he is the disciple." So who is that? And she was there, and our Umāpurī, she made a film, she made pictures, her voice, etc. And all the village people, about 20 people, were there, 20-30 people. And they said, "Yes, it is that." The elderly people said, "Yes, her parents we knew." So, what more evidence can we give? And so in that way, our great, great Bhagavān Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī. And you know, you have heard, and many people, they are still alive. And many, many old people, male or female, they are worshipping, worshipping this Mahāprabhujī. If one wants to know what Bhagavān is, then with this, so this, it is Bhagavān. So many, many people are still there. So Holī Gurujī said, who sees Mahāprabhujī? And someone who comes, who saw the Mahāprabhujī, then Holī Gurujī said, "Those eyes who saw the Mahāprabhujī," Holī Gurujī was hanging the tears, because I see. He saw from his eyes, my Bhagavān. Such a disciple and such a guru. That is a paramparā. So Holī Gurujī many times was telling, and now we are here. I don't know how we will be. Maybe you will be great, but not me. I don't know how I will be. So we are all sitting today under these trees, and these trees will say that Maheshwarananda told this, and you all heard this. These trees will be the, how do we call, the witness. About one day, I was with Gurujī in Kathu, and in Kathu āśram, I made again this āśram where Mahāprabhujī was mostly living there, in the village of Kathu. And so when Mahāprabhujī passed away, and Gurujī was in another part of India, and many people, they took the land here and this and that. So I tried to get this old place and made a nice ashram, you know, many years. And I saw, I made room for Gurujī. And there is a beautiful old banyan tree. And there were many trees, but unfortunately they are dried and dead. But we had that one, and I have protected him very much. He had all roots out. He would also have died. So I put about two meters of earth, two or three meters of earth. And now, this is very beautiful. This is still there. And the room went, and many, everything, you know that. So, I was sitting in Guruji's room. Guruji was sitting on his bed in the veranda, and I wanted to sit down on the mattress. Guruji said, "No, no... no." Gurujī may sit down, so I sit half buttocks on the corner. And someone brought a chair, so I sit on the chair. And Guruji said to me, "Guruji wants to tell me the evidence." And Guruji said that no people can tell you what I will tell you. Because many people did not understand Mahāprabhujī. But Gurujī said, "Mahesh, you see this banyan tree and come here and show only this banyan tree is mine. Who can tell the truth?" And so, this is what I am telling you when Gurujī said it was true. And now, holy Gurujī said, "Now go and have amṛt." Amrit is bursting, raining, running, rains. So come to your room and take your bathroom, a little bit go to toilet, and then get ready for lunch. That's good. Amṛt ke Sāgar, Mahāprabhujī was Holī. Gurujī was giving this Amṛt Sāgar, dripping the Amṛt. Tento Amrit Sāgar, ktori kvapka Mahāprabhujī kvapka. Thank you. So, thank you. We all got Amrit. Amrit ke Sāgar Śrīdhī Parimā Dhani, Sare Viśu me guñj raha Prabhu kī Amar Kahānī. So, please. Hari Om.
