Good evening, dear sisters, brothers, and all devotees here and around the world. We find ourselves in this situation, in this world, with various infections and challenges. All around the world, the Yoga in Daily Life community is praying for the purification of all negative things from our world. Of course, many spiritual people globally—in ashrams, temples, and churches—are praying. Doctors, too, are trying very hard to rid us of this corona. Everyone is doing their best. We know that our Yoga in Daily Life practitioners, who have been practicing for many years, live very sāttvic lives, eating sāttvic food. As usual, everyone is taking good care, keeping everything clean, and we are all using masks. I am sitting in a glass box so no outside air comes in. Only one or two persons are here at a distance. Afterwards, when we leave, we take protection. My dear ones, when life has ended, it will end. But as long as we are here, we pray to God: "Let us live happily and peacefully on this earth, in this country or that country." For that, I am praying for you all, and you are all praying for me. In that way, we are always with prayer. Of course, there are many medicines and doctors. But finally, the best medicine is prayer. God definitely hears us when we are constantly praying and remembering God’s name. Like we have here in our ashram—these are the prayers of our Gurudeva: "Oṁ Śrī Prabhu Dīp Nirañjana Śabaduk Bhañjana." Aum is the cosmic energy, and that is very important for us. Aum is like the early morning dawn. That dawn is a very beautiful, powerful feeling and light. It is like the rising sun—not only for humans or trees, but for all creatures, all living beings around the whole world. Our Ārādhya Bhagavān Dīp Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī is like that rising sun. When you remember, and we remember this mantra, it grows through the whole body, in each and every cell, a positive, clear, spiritual energy. This is in that bīja mantra of our Gurudeva. So when you remember this mantra, beautiful, positive energy comes into the whole body, into every cell. Aum is that reflection and feeling in the whole universe. Oṁ, you are the reflection and those feelings of the entire universe. Oṁ Prabhu. "Prabhu" is the protector of the creation. Here, Prabhu—our God—is giving us protection. When we feel it, it’s like a little child is hungry and crying, and the mother comes and feeds the child. So our mantra is that throughout our life, this mantra which we have is protecting and nourishing our whole five elements. Oṁ Prabhu Dīp. "Dīp" means the light. That is like sunrise. And when it comes to the evening and night, there is the flame of the light. Gurudev is putting this light in us. Oṁ Prabhu Dīp Nirañjana. "Nirañjana" means purity, complete purity. Dīp Nirañjana—that beautiful, completely beautiful light, clear light. Entirely, completely pure, pure light. "Śabaduk Bhañjana" means all difficulties, all problems, everything. Prabhudīp Nirañjana, śabadukha—"dukha" means troubles. It is giving the negativity away. Dīp Nirañjana, sab dukha bhañjana. "Dukha" means all kinds of troubles, any kind of troubles. It all becomes peace. "Prabhūdīp Nirañjana Śabaduk Bhañjana." It all goes away. This mantra of our Gurudev, Hindu Dharm Samrāṭ Svāmī Madhavānandajī, was given to me. He said to me, "Mahesh, now I give you this mantra, and you should give it further to your devotees in my name." This was also Holī Gurujī’s mantra: "Oṁ Prabhupāda Nirañjana Śabdakabhañjana." Many of you have this mantra. Oṁ Prabhupāda. That is the very clear, very beautiful, and very powerful purity for us. So whenever we should remember the name of Gurudev’s mantra... Also, there are many gurus around the world, and we are very happy, we are lucky, that so many saints are on this globe. Many religions, and many have their God—my God, their God. And they will never think negatively about their guru. Some see only the physical body. Some also worship the photo or statues, or those only without any body. But we are remembering, like our parents died, but every year we remember the day they passed away, and every holiday they go to their samādhi. So they are with us. If you forget them, or you don’t want [to remember], that is, of course, something we cannot do anything about. But it is said that many people, they don’t make any kind of movements, but they are in the heart; it is with them. So, my dear, on one side, in our time, in these situations, we are trying our best. And we know nowadays there are many, many remedies, and through these remedies, our doctors and those giving other kinds of medicines are all giving to us. But one problem is that, unfortunately—and that is not good—there is some kind of poison in our farming. How many things we decided and put so much poison on it? All this urea, etc. That has killed many people and many other creatures. That kind of thing comes into our foods, and many diseases are coming. And maybe such a thing from many chemicals around the world, everywhere, has come like a corona. I cannot say, but I feel, and we all feel, that which is coming from such impurities is what we are suffering from. But we have no power. It is those people, also governments of the whole world. I think there’s only one or two countries that don’t have any of this kind of poison you’re putting on the vegetation. And of course, they think that we are good, and we have everything, and we have good food. No. It is in the air, coming in the air. So, in this, our prayers—at least we feel, and I’m sure, and you all are sure—and all other gods, you meditate on Kṛṣṇa, on the Buddhas, on Rāma, on Jesus, etc. Mantras, our holy mother, there is the power, and we are living on this from those great saints. So this mantra: "Oṁ Prabhupādīpa Nirañjana Śabadu Dukkha Bhāñjana..." Through this mantra, when we repeat it, then in our words, in our feelings, and on our tongue, our heart will become pure. And you know, many, many in our world, in many worlds, many of our devotees—they were old and they died, or some had illness and became good, and some who have passed away had such a feeling of peace always, and that was great. We have many, many cases. One I can say, in Germany: they were my disciples. She was becoming old, around 75, 80, nearby. In Hamburg, she was in the hospital. Nowadays everyone is brought to the hospital and doctors take care; it’s great. She had an operation, and she said, "I have my mālā, and I put my mālā near my head. Please don’t remove this mālā." She said, "Please, I ask you again and again, because my Gurudev is with this operation." Of course, the doctor said, "OK." They smiled a little bit, the doctors, they smiled. But the operation went so smoothly, very quickly, and it was very good. They said, "What happened to this?" Then she opened her eyes and said, "Mahāprabhujī, thank you, you were always with me." The doctor said, "Who is your master, guru?" And she said, "Mahāprabhujī. And my Gurujī here." So, we should have confidence. We feel. We should not, we don’t want to die with suffering. But sometimes, because we don’t want that for our families, parents, etc., our persons, we ask the doctor, "Please leave it, leave it, don’t give him, go away." Because we love all our friends, parents, brothers, etc. So mantra is always mantra. There’s one little story. A little ashram was outside of a village, about one kilometre, half a kilometre out. People came in the evening for satsaṅg and prayers. There were two young boys, about age 20. Every day they went to the ashram. They were only making service, seva. Those devotees coming for satsaṅg—giving them water, everything. And also doing seva for Gurudeva. Then, after around eight or nine o’clock, they came home. Every day, these two boys were very spiritual, and they said, "Because we want to do seva." Their parents were also very good. At that time, slowly, slowly, something called the cinema came. It was not long ago. One cinema somewhere said there would be a film. One friend said to the other, "Let’s go, today we will go to the theater." The other said, "What is there?" "We don’t know, but it is very nice, and there is theater, there is dancing, or this." One said, "No, we have a whole drama, a whole world. And we will go to the Gurujī. Gurujī will say, 'Where are you?'" He said, "But one day we can go." Once, a friend said, "My dear, my brother, my friend, I will go to the ashram." He said, "My dear, my brother, my friend, I will go to the cinema. Please don’t be angry." He said, "That’s your way of working." So he went to the cinema, and the other went to the ashram. About 9 o’clock, 9:30, the theater finished, and that young boy was going home. On the way, somewhere, there was a little bag with a lot of silver coins. He saw nobody was there. He looked left, right, waiting there. He said, "Has anyone lost your money or something?" Nothing. So he took it home. A lot of money was there. The other one, who was in the ashram, after the satsaṅg was doing seva. Then he walked home. He had a very heavy needle (thorn) in his foot. It was very painful; then he pulled it out. But he slowly, slowly came home. In the morning, both friends met. One said, "What happened?" "Oh, it was good. I saw people who were dancing and this and that, and I didn’t like it. All the time I was thinking of you, my dear. All the time I was thinking of the Gurujī, all my devotees who are coming to the āśram, and there was very nice prasāda. So all the time I was there. And then I went out from the theater. My house is on the other side, so I went that way, and there were silver coins. So I got money. And you, my brother?" "While I was there, all our devotees were there, I was doing sevā, but all the time I was thinking of you, in the theatre, cinema—what was that, how many were dancing, how many boys and girls and what? So all the times I was with Gurujī, but I was all the times in cinema thinking. And then after, when I went, the thorn went in my foot. Ah, very painful. This is my result." So he said this, and he said this. "Let’s go tomorrow and tell Gurujī. Give the judgment." So both told their story. Guruji said, and before Guruji told anything, Guruji told them: "Today was a constellation, very great. But you went the wrong way. What? You would have become a very great person—money, or whatever it is. But your good luck was gone with only some golden coins, and you lost the satsaṅg." The other said, "Gurujī, can I meet you also? What can I say, Gurujī?" Said, "What is?" Said, "I had a thorn, Gurujī, and so painful still. I have done nothing." Gurujī said, "Yes, that was also your luck. On the way, there would have been an accident, and you would have died. So little remains, always. And that was only the thorn. You would have become a kingdom, but you went the wrong way, so only just a little bit to give you, that’s all." So that’s always: when we go the good way, to a good place—I mean not only the ashram or the satsaṅg, but to good people, in a good place, on a good path, etc.—that is our luck. And when we do something that is not good, sooner or later it will be wrong. Therefore, it is mantra and Guru Kṛpā. Don’t think about your guru, how he is old or young, or not beautiful, or this and that. But it is that. It is said: the river is curved, but not the water. The river has curves, but not the water. The water is always straight. So this prayer, what I said, mantra: "O Prabhupāda, O Prabhupāda." So read in Līlā Amṛta, and you will see inside many, many stories, or the real truth what Holī Gurujī has written, and you should read that. That is our holy book. When you go to sleep, one page you should learn to read, and the whole night, it will be that good feeling in you. So in that, we shall do the prayer to Gurudev. Everybody, I wish you all the best, my dears. I am very happy to see you, and you are also lucky that we can be together at our Gurudev’s holy feet.
