The living wisdom of Gurudev

The mantra Om Namah Sri Prabhudip Narayanam brings light, health, and devotion.

It is a prayer to the divine flame, Mahaprabhuji as Narayana, meaning we all are Thy devotees. Yoga is not only asanas and pranayama, yet these are essential for the body. Sarvahitasana exercises suit all ages and heal when practiced daily. Missing a day brings discomfort, so steady effort is required. A single meal with four hours fasting, plus daily turmeric powder, supports health. Willpower overcomes disease. The prayer of Sivanandji cleanses the mind like a clear sky. Guru’s grace is above all deities; without it nothing is achieved. This year brought immense death, but dedicated practitioners were largely spared. Strict vegans avoided illness. Focus within; external aids are temporary. Health of body sustains health of consciousness. Spiritual growth demands inward turning and service. Ultimate liberation may feel isolating, so rebirth on earth is gentler. Seek the inner self.

“Om Namo Sri Prabhu Dip Narayanam, all are Thy devotees.”

“If the body is healthy, then our consciousness is also healthy.”

Saraṇā Parāyaṇam. Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhudīpā Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Deva Dī Deva, Deveśvara Mahādeva Harade Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī Kī Jī. Sadguru Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kī Jī. Oṁ. We have time, so don’t hurry. Keep the distance, please. We have been asking many times. Many of you know this, and many know what they did not do again. That is Om Namaḥ Śrī Prabhudī Banārā Om Namaḥ Śrī Prabhudī. This is a mantra, this is a prārthanā, this is the requesting from Mahāprabhujī, Gurujī, etc. Om Namaḥ. Om we know. Namaḥ means I bow down to the Om, Mahāprabhujī. Oṁ Nama Prabhu. Prabhu is God. Prabhu means God. Prabhu, Om Prabhudīp Nirañjan. Dīp is this flame. Dīp is this flame, and the name of Mahāprabhujī. So this is a light. Always, when the sun goes down, then this flame is Mahāprabhujī’s light. This is the light. Whenever the sun sets, this flame is with us. Mahāprabhujī is in the flame. Oṁ Namo Śrī Prabhu Dīp Nārāyaṇam. Mahāprabhujī and Nārāyaṇa is Viṣṇu. Mahāprabhujī is Nārāyaṇa, Viṣṇu. This is a very powerful, very nice mantra. Ham means me, sab means all, mi usi, so we all are in oneness. Om namo śrī. Śrī means prosperity. Śrī means good health. The śrī means that prosperity means not only money but good health, good life, good feelings, everything. Hamsab Das Prabhu. So, Hamsab Das, all are Thy devotees. We are all your devotees, your dedicated ones. Oṁ namo Śrī Prabhu Dīp Nārāyaṇam. Prabhu Dīp, Mahāprabhujī is there, so we are all servants of the Lord, surrendered to Him. May we all, so we are all together praying to God. We are all together, and we pray to God, and God gives us everything. And God gives us everything. Definitely, it will be. Definitely, it will be. We bow down to Gurudeva. And so we all bow down to Gurudeva. There is a very beautiful, very powerful, very good, and very simple language in this bhajan or mantra. This mantra is very simple, wonderful, and very powerful, so it is not difficult to remember. Purisa Mahādeva Kī Satguru Swāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kī. This bhajan is a beautiful bhajan, and our Narabdha from Slovenia, she likes this bhajan very much. I think I will see her tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. All my dear ones, all sisters, brothers, sisters, brothers, all bhaktas, this is a beautiful time that we are all together here. And yoga is not only āsanas and prāṇāyāmas. Yoga is not only about āsanas and prāṇāyāmas. But also, āsanas and prāṇāyāmas are very important for our body. But asanas and prānāyāmas are very important for our body. You should also sometimes make experiments. I did it a few times, and it was very, very helpful. Now, I want to tell you, because many people are asking this and that. They say, "Swamiji, you look very weak." I’m not weak. And about eight to nine months, I’m on the salad. And unfortunately, you know, I got our DG’s party about what we call diabetes. And somehow it was, I was a little bit neglected. Only because someone said, "Because of my tooth, pyorrhea, don’t take sugar." But take some other sugar. So, it is nearly... you can see how many years I was taking this other sugar. And that was, this became about what? The disease. And this is the cause of my diabetes. And then, after more and more, something takes this, and then takes this, and one said, "Take a little injection, it will be good." And so, in the beginning, it is very good, but after taking the injections, it is now very difficult to get rid of it. But we are trying, I’m trying, I’m trying. Sorry. And then also I was making too many journeys, and there’s a lot of exercise lost. Of course, I was then tired a little bit, more lectures, and walking little, etc. Then I said, "Oh, myself," so I again came to another diet, very good. And again, I went the same path, so not making āsanas, and this, that, more talking, this, that, and, of course, I also need to have a rest. Again, such a disease comes. So, this year, I really made a very conscious effort to follow my diet. Salad. Exclusively salad. But not only the leaves of the salad, you know. There are many different kinds of seeds of some fruits or something. And salad and all these things, it is very tasteful. Because of that, I have taken insulin, so I have to eat chapati, but only one chapati. And very thin chapātī. And when someone makes chapati for me a little thick, then I eat only half. And so, slowly, slowly, my sugar went really good down. But still, it doesn’t give up. But it’s okay. But when sugar comes into the body, all these kinds of diseases come. And it is said, this is this, and there is this, there is this... Go to the doctor, and the doctor tells you this: "How is your health? You have many, many diseases." Because I was sitting in the aeroplane, and some person was there beside me, and he said, "You are a yogī, and you are Swāmījī, and this and you have this, this kind of disease." I said, "Okay." And really, with concentration, I was feeling very powerfully that now I will not eat any chapatis. No bread, no this, no many, many things, no. And eat only three times. Disease, disease coming for us is that every half hour or something we are putting in the mouth something, that is the disease. Once, when we want to sit for our meal, then eat what you want to eat. And then, about four hours, between nothing except water. And so, it happened that my body became a little thin. There was a big pumpkin, you know, big. Under my shirt, and so that I divided everybody, so let’s say 75% remained out, then I also began yoga practice. Because when I am on an airplane going to one country, there are big trees there, and also different times. But then I said, I will practice. And really, I began to practice our yoga at that time. This, what you know, everybody, this exercise, and that I said, what is that? Sarvahitāsana. And you know all our Sarvahitāsana. And sarvahitāsana, sarva means all. Sarvahitān. Hitha means for our self, for us, so these all exercises are best for us, Sarvahitha Āsana. Now I begin that, and really, every morning early, two hours I am practicing Sarvahitha Āsana every day. And so, otherwise, before, my legs were swollen, and now they have become so thin. Very nice. This is very important. So, I went to the doctor, saw the blood pressure and everything in the blood tests, and this is okay, that’s okay, that’s... Okay, your disease, there’s no disease in the body, etc., the diabetes. And he said, "Doctor, 80% of your medicines have gone down." So, again I said to myself, you should have willpower. And again I said to myself, you must have the will, the power of will. Everyone is doing everything, but we should, for our body, do at least two hours; half an hour is nothing. So, this is the first thing I wanted to tell you now. Second point, the postures of yoga are good for young people. Or one is constantly practicing āsanas, then you can do heavy exercises. So, Sarvahitāsana is the best, and that is the best medicine, and it is something everyone can do, even a 98-year-old elderly person, sitting, sitting... In the chair, like Vasiṣṭha. And do the exercises, Sarvahitāsana, all. And some things, lie down, relax, and do Sarvahitāsana. So this is a very, very best and good Sarvahitāsana. So you know all. We just do like this. Not like this. Hold like Vasiṣṭha holds his hand. No one can put him out. Yes. Now, only first we think. But if you can feel, when we make our fist strong, it’s going till the whole arm, the whole arm, and armpit. And then, this way. Yes, Croatians and Slovenians, they are making very nice, what do you call it, something from tomatoes and this? Ajvar. Ajvar. Doing like this. Doing like this. Croats and Slovenians, you cook ajvar and mix it like this. It was one, then this, then this, then that. On both sides, up and down, then this. Left and right. Slowly, not like that. And slowly. And then this, that, then hold your hand only like this. After two minutes, you will say, "Ahhh." So, all that we are doing is this, then this one, and this kind of movement, which you know everything. You know everything. Everything, but these are the real postures, exercises. So, you know, tilt our legs, the toes, we are also tilting the toes, we are doing like this, no? Everything is going very nicely, and we are working well. After four days, if you do it freely every day, and then if you miss one day, you will not feel good. Either you will do it in the evening, or the next day you will say, "No, I must do my exercise." And so, you know, many lie down and relax on this side and that. And that in the body, whatever problems or pain we have, it all becomes healthy. But of course, there are some diseases that are different. But I can say, 88%, the Sarvahitāsana will make you very healthy. And haldi powder, this haldi, two or three teaspoons, the haldi we must eat in our stomach every day. And then we can do the prānāyāma, and we should not go to prānāyāma one day half this and the next day this and this, only one. Agnisāra exercise. Who don’t know what the name Agnisar, who don’t know, hand up please. Who don’t know Agnisar Kriya? So, who don’t know Agnisar Kriya, then you are the best. Then why you sometimes say, "Oh, my problems and these problems, they are not doing." So, this is Saravithā Āsana. Then, other āsanas we should do if we can. Ātmā-Syantra Āsana, I am also doing. Before, I could not do any. So, this is also a very, very good power. And now, I want to tell you that Sarvahitāsan, Head, head, sit. And long ago, about let’s say 20 years maybe, 20 years, in Australia, every day I was doing, and one day suddenly I felt a very strong pain in my knee, or in my neck. And I gave up. But when the head is standing, we cannot do it, then we should have some different kind of exercise. But now I saw they made some kind of table, and there the head is inside, the hand is holding like this, and a beautiful feeling, the head is hanging there, and that’s very, very good. Immediately, again, our eyes—my eyes are better—many, many things. So, about one month I’m doing every day, about, now I came to the eleven seconds, minutes, sorry, yes. Yes, two times or three times. Come again, and you can go up here. So, it is said that the best thing is that our body should be healthy. If the body is healthy, then our consciousness is also healthy. So, eat, but only once, and then for four hours, nothing to eat. No fruits, nothing. So, in this way, our Yoga in Daily Life, many, many things, and our exercises, our books, are for many people. They are sold, I don’t know, in China they have, I don’t know how many books they made, for Chinese, it doesn’t matter. If it’s copyright or no copyright, and if you make a case for them, it doesn’t matter, nothing. So, it is many things: exercises, very good, and our prānāyāma and yoga is not only this. What we call yoga is not just āsanas and prānāyāma. So all of this is good to do, āsana, prāṇāyāma, but yoga is not just that. Finally, is that spirituality? And there is a very, our Mahāprabhujī’s one disciple, his name was Śivānandjī, and he, his prayer, what he made a prayer for Mahāprabhujī’s. And you have in this book our mantra and the prayers, but this is a very important and very good. People are surprised how this person has done the prayer, how it is that he made all in one. Ācāra kī ātmā. So, Śrī Guru, Śrī Gurudev, Śrī Gurudev, Śrī Guru Ātmā. You know what is ātmā, everybody? Usī vaste kaitō ātmā. Who don’t know, hand up? We all know. So, Śrī Guru Ātmā, Param Ātmā. And that is the highest, the Param Ātmā. That is great, Mahātma. This Śrī Guru, Ātmā, Paramātmā, ho Mahātma Puruṣottama, sakala jaga ke antara jāmī, cara carkī ācchā. What a wonderful, what a wonderful, just in two lines. Nabha Rūpa. Nabha means the sky, the blue sky. Sometimes we see the sky so clear, yes, that is the mind, conscious feelings, etc. Through this prayer, it makes you clean, all like a blue sky. But when we go to the sky, in the sky there is no color. But that week we will talk after time. Nabha Rūpa Vyāpo Satya Vyāpo. That is the truth. So, in this way, our yoga and daily life are now in this way. And that you are all practicing here and doing yoga with Swamiji, and everything. Everything we call our yoga practice, but mostly you all are coming to that Parabrahma Brahmatmā, that we want to become Parabrahma Ātmā. There are so many exercises, techniques, many, many things now. But there is Guru Kṛpā. Without Guru Kṛpā, nothing can be. So it is said, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Maheśvara, they all, but above them is a Guru. Guru, next point I want to say that this year is a very dark year. It made all completely down, and you know how many millions and millions of people died. I made a research, not a result, a research. I asked all my yoga teachers, I asked all my yoga teachers, I asked. All my yoga teachers, I asked all my yoga teachers. I asked all my yoga teachers about prāṇāyāma and guru bhakti. So, around the whole world, maybe two or three people are affected, otherwise no one. Similarly, I asked many other yoga practitioners, other yogīs. Some said, yes, they had not this korona. Because they are eating meat and practicing yoga, but eating this meat and this, that is why. Then ask all vegans, "Who is eating?" So there are two kinds of vegans. Some people, from time to time, go with some friends: "Let’s go eat at a vegan restaurant." Then they go home and eat meat and eat and eat. But those who are really at home, at the aeroplane, in the restaurant, they are eating vegan, they did not get this disease. So, we should be very careful, and we should be healthy. And this, we have our instrument. Where is my, yeah, this instrument, you know. Sometimes I go with little children, hello. In the Adriatic coast, somewhere hanging there, but now we have here. So this is not for you. It’s not for you. But from others, what they are bringing is why we are closing. So we should really translate it very nicely, and we should keep it. And the family member is also not very close, always. So, this is, our health is very important. So this is how, and of course, our Gurudev is always there: Mahāprabhujī, Holy Gurujī, Devpurījī, Alakhpurījī. And you and me, we are equal, we are here, and I help you and you help me. Thank you. So we all wish for ourselves and our friends, and all that, Mahāprabhujī, please give us long life so that we can make seva and seva for others also. Gossiping about something, backbiting something, they are, ask them, how many mistakes they have. In this place, we don’t have a black spade, but look on the back side, what is it? That’s called backbite. So, my dears, I wish you all the best. I think I will be here for two or three days, and the program will be... other people are waiting also. But I am here, that will be, and we will see again as it is. So, I wish you all the best, and think within thyself. Whatever we take from outside is just nothing. Everything is within ourselves. And from inside, we are taking care of ourselves. Temporarily, we give to others, and we get from others. But constantly, it’s only we who can do it ourselves. I wish you all the best, good health, peace, harmony, and spiritual development, that we may come to that cosmic, whatever is good. Sometimes I am thinking, what will I do in the cosmos? There is nobody. I cannot call anybody. I cannot see anything, neither up, neither side, neither down, nothing. And we will say, "My God, why did I go there?" Even if we don’t have a body, we don’t have eating, nothing, nothing, only that thinking, "Where am I?" So think it over, yes. So better we come again to the earth. Guru Sāg Sāg Parabrahma, Tasmai Śrī Gurave Namaḥ. Dhyāna Mūlam Guru Mūrtiḥ, Pūjā Mūlam Guru Padam, Mantra Mūlam Guru Vākyam, Mokṣa Mūlam Guru Kṛpā. Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ.
