Preparation for Diwali

Diwali is the festival of lights, celebrating Lord Rama’s return and the incarnation of Shri Deep Narayana Mahaprabhuji.

Tomorrow is Diwali, the festival of lights. Lord Rama existed many thousands of years ago, though no one knows when or where. Diwali means light; in the divine state, there is no darkness, only light everywhere. Yogis are awake at night when others sleep, symbolizing knowledge. Gods incarnate to protect and liberate the good, whatever name is used—Rama, Allah, Brahman. Worship takes many forms: prayer, meditation, bhajans. Hanuman appeared as a monkey because, near Ravana, Shiva took that form. On Shivaratri, Lord Shiva appeared to Chandan Devaji, granting her the boon to conceive the highest Lord. Nine months later, on Diwali at 4 a.m., Shri Deep Narayana Mahaprabhuji incarnated. At birth, miracles occurred: oil lamps lit empty of oil, white blossoms fell from the sky, and rain turned yellow. Astrologer Pandit Prem Shankar named him Deep, meaning light, and foretold his spiritual greatness. Diwali thus marks the incarnation of Shri Deep Narayana Mahaprabhuji as well as Lord Rama. Worship is offered to both and to all saints. On this day, any anger or hatred is forgiven, and brotherhood renewed. Blessings are asked for peace, harmony, good health, and wealth. The divine light of Mahaprabhuji illuminates the cosmos.

“My absence to you, Divine Mother, the tapasyās and prayers you performed in earlier lives shall now bear fruit. Grace is bestowed upon you, as you shall have the privilege of conceiving the highest Lord, King of the Universe.”

“This is indeed a special day. Such a planetary alignment is extremely rare, and only exceptional personalities are born at such an hour. Your son will be gifted with extraordinary spiritual and supernatural powers. He is a great soul, a divine master, and his name shall be Deep, which means light.”

Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jaya, Devadhī Dev Deveśvara Mahādeva Kī Jaya, Alakhpurījī Mahādeva Kī Jaya, Sadguru Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kī Jaya, Śrī Rāma Jayā Rāma Jayā Jayā Rāma, Śrī Rāma Jayā Rāma Jayā Jayā Rāma... Śrī Rām, Jai Rām, Jai Jai Rām Śrī Rām, Jai Rām, Jai Jai Rām... Śrī Rām Jai Rām Jai Jai Rām Śrī Rām Jai Rām Śrī Rām Jai Rām Jai Jai Rām Śrī Rām Jai Rām Śrī Rām Jai... Rām Śrī Rām Śrī Rām Jaya Rām Śrī Rām Śrī Rām Jaya Rām Śrī Rām Śrī Rām Jaya Rām Śrī Rām Śrī... Rām Śrī. Blessings for them all, by the Bhagavān Rām. We are all the bhaktas of Bhagavān Śrī Rām. Bhagavān Rāma existed many thousands of years ago – sorry, I don't know when it was, nobody knows. Bhagavān Rām lived for thousands of years, and I am sorry that I do not know where it was, but no one knows it. The whole story, many of you know. And Bhagavān Rāma comes back to his kingdom, to his palace. It is said, once Śiva, then Viṣṇu, Śiva, etc. And between is Brahmā, who is like a creator. So tomorrow is a holy, very holy day for the whole world. That is Bhagavān Rāma, and that's called Dīvālī. Diwali means the light, and light we all mostly have in the night. So it means a state where God is there. There is no night, no darkness. Everywhere, the light is always there. So we can see from the whole globe that all the time we will see the sun rising. And for us to have a rest, we close our eyes. And many great saints said, the yogis, and it is said, the yogis are awakened in the night when all are sleeping. That means that knowledge, so in that way. And so, tomorrow is our Dīvālī. The day after tomorrow. Everyone, they will say, "Rām Rām Sā, Rām Rām Sā..." Sa means sir, or what we call the ladies or the children. Bhagavān Rām Rām... The entire year will be very divine, and Bhagavān Rām will always be with us, and Hanumān, and you know that Hanumānjī, everyone, you know what Hanumān is, and of course we are telling it is like a monkey, and why the monkey, which we said that it is Śiva. So there are certain, certain reasons why one has this Hanumanjī as a monkey. Because at that time, Rāvaṇa and many others were doing very negative things. And it is said that many bhaktas, even they like bhaktas, but when they have this time, then they have very much anger inside. So, all gods who come, one after another, through the ages, they come for two purposes: protecting and liberating all good ones. For example, anyone who believes in their religion and their God. Some don't say there is no God, but they say it is only Brahman. Or what Muslims say, Allah. So they are all there. So it doesn't matter, either physically or in their strength. And people are for their worshipping. What is worshipping? There are many, many different ways. We are making very many prayers. Meditation, concentration, bhajans, etc. And others also. You know that Christmas is coming very soon. And the Christians, what they are making, now it will come very close there. What is that? New Year's? New Year's. And is it Christmas? And it is very close when Rāma is coming, and there is also Kṛṣṇa and others, and in that time also Jesus comes. So they all come in different ways because, where there is something they do not know, they will appear in that way. And so is that also when the Holy Mother, Mary, and when Jesus comes, gives the birth. And when the Blessed Mother Mary gave birth to Jesus, it was not that, it is said, everybody said, that she was still, how do you call it, a virgin, virgin, virgin. But that was also for some reasons. Therefore, it was like that. Anyhow, we are not going too far. And so also Hanumānjī came. And Hanumānjī was in the form of a monkey. Because Rāvaṇa, Rāvaṇa, all goddesses and also Śiva, in everybody, he got from them, "Please protect me." Only one remained. And therefore, Śiva comes into the form of the monkey. And then you will see, yes, it was Śiva that. So let's go further. We will come. Similarly, you know that. Tomorrow is Diwali, and this Diwali is the festival of lights everywhere in the evening. And Dīvālī means that the evening of light will light up everywhere. Through the satellite, you can listen and see. That everywhere there is light, mostly in the whole of India. And many other countries, where mostly very many are also light again. And the next day, we all come and make praṇām. So that we know that our Bhagavān Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī is also as Brahmā, God, Vibhīṣaṇa, Lakṣmaṇa. Vishnu, Shiva, and Rama is also Vishnu. So Mahāprabhujī was born, or incarnated, at Brahmā time, early morning. After midnight, three hours, then comes the Brahmajara time, which is very great. Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī, a jmenoval se Dīp. Deep means this flame, this light. And so Mahāprabhujī incarnated. At that time, also it was Śiva with it. And therefore on Śivarātri, it is the day of Śiva, and there, Devpurījī comes. So, and Devpurījī gave the blessings to us, and it's come exactly nine months. That story is already known, but you will hear it now. So, Dīvālī was the ninth month. Night, month, and Mahāprabhujī incarnated, and with flames was gone from the pūjās. But when Mahāprabhujī was born, I wake them. Then again there, around him there, it... was all flamed, came in that village. And it was cold, but some rain came. But all drops were yellow, like this color. This is like what we call this. No, this is the Chantān. And this Chanting is very holy. Likewise, we know what Mahāprabhujī is about. So tomorrow is also the incarnation of Bhagavān. Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī. So we are worshipping Bhagavān Rām, Bhagavān Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī, Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī, and all holy saints and holy persons. So it is a very big festival. So now, from our Līlā Amṛt book, our Holī Gurujī has written, and I would like you to know that many of you have this book, Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī's, that book is called Līlā Amṛt. Read that, please. And in many, many languages, that is. So, now, our one, our bhakta, our friend, your yoga name is Satya Prakāś. Satya means truth. Prakāś means light, so that is very important. And this Diwali day, this is the best name of him given on Diwali. Always, Bhagavān Rāma said, "Satya, where is the prakāśa, the light?" So, Satya Prakāś, please, I think you can talk about something for us. To read us the hymn. Om Namaḥ Śrī Prabhudī Par Nārāyaṇa. Sing one bhajan, please, for Mahāprabhujī, okay? The first bhajan, "Anya for Mahāprabhujī," is very nice. One more bhajan from Mahāprabhujī, choose a nice one. Om, so till there, yes, come both of you. Pranām Swamijī, Hari Om, Guru sisters and Guru brothers, the appearance of Lord Śiva, as Swamijī told us, Śivarātri, which is on the night of the new moon in February, Indians celebrate the festival of Śivarātri. And on this night, all devotees, yogīs and swāmīs meditate until dawn. Traditional ceremonies and celebrations took place in Śrī Udaipurījī's āśram. And on this night, dedicated to Lord Śiva, Śrīmūrti Candan Devājī heard that numerous devotees had already been granted a vision of divine form. "Maybe he will also bless me with his darśan," she mused. She vowed to fast until blessed by Lord Śiva's appearance. In the unshakable belief that she would meet him face to face, she immersed herself deep into meditation and began to chant the holy mantra. My reverence to Lord Śiva. Her devout prayer was heard, and at one o'clock in the early morning hours, God Śiva appeared before her and spoke to her in a pure, melodious voice. "My absence to you, Divine Mother, the tapasyās and prayers you performed in earlier lives shall now bear fruit. Grace is bestowed upon you, as you shall have the privilege of conceiving the highest Lord, King of the Universe. On the auspicious and blessed day of his incarnation in this world, the whole universe will be filled with divine light. You and I will meet again, as one day I will come here to greet you. Furthermore, you will give birth to three sons and one daughter, all with pure and holy souls." After this, the form of God Śiva vanished, and Śrīmatī Candan Devājī emerged from her meditation. As her gaze once more returned to the world, she thought with consternation, "Such grace has just been showered upon me." Lord Shiva himself, the ocean of divine love and wisdom, blessed me with his presence, but I was so preoccupied I could not even present him with the proper reception. Full of awe, she reflected on the prophecy revealed to her, and she kept wondering when and how it would happen. This same night, Smṛti Chandan Devājī had the experience of a glorious, radiant light descending upon her, filling her body and soul. Thus, she received a gift from heaven, Viśva Dīpa Jyoti Paramātmā, the divine self, whose radiance illuminates the entire cosmos. As we heard from Swamiji, nine months later, on Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, Shmati Chandan Devajī had a dream at exactly 3:30 in the morning, in which she had a vision of Lord Viṣṇu arriving, seated on Airāvata, his white elephant with seven trunks. In his hands, Lord Viṣṇu held his insignias: Śaṅkha, the conch shell; Cakra, the disc; Gadā, the club; and Padma, the lotus. He was accompanied by Lord Śiva, clad in a tiger skin and riding on Nandi, his bull. From his long matted hair flowed the Gaṅgā River. Half an hour after this dream on Dīvālī, at 4 a.m., the hour of Brahma Muhūrta, on November the 8th, 1828 A.D., the protector of all creatures incarnated on this earth, Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī. At the moment of his birth, he appeared to his mother in a vision as the divine child Kṛṣṇa, who endears himself to all. Matajī Chandandevājī realized that her son, conceived by the grace of Lord Śiva, was a divine incarnation. In this memorable hour, several miracles occurred, as we've already heard from Swamijī. The oil lamps within the village houses suddenly lit, although they were empty of oil, and they lit of their own accord, and white flower blossoms gently fell from the sky. On waking in the morning, the villagers were filled with an inexplicable inner joy. First, they were amazed to see the burning oil lamps, and then the streets covered with white flowers. Some attributed the miracles to Lord Rāma, in whose glory Dīvālī is celebrated. Some believed it to be the good work of the spirits, and others thought these miracles were performed by an invisible divine power of the universe. No one knew how all of this happened. Śrī Uday Purījī Mahārāj, overjoyed that a divine son had been born to him, gave gifts to the priests and the poor and reverently thanked God in his prayers. It is a tradition in India that after the birth of a child, an astrologer is summoned to cast the horoscope and choose a suitable name. Therefore, Paṇḍit Prem Śaṅkar Śāstrācārya, a great scholar of astrology, was consulted. On completing his calculations, he said to Śrī Udaipurījī, "This is indeed a special day. Such a planetary alignment is extremely rare, and only exceptional personalities are born at such an hour. Your son will be gifted with extraordinary spiritual and supernatural powers. He is a great soul, a divine master, and his name shall be Deep, which means light. Those who received his blessings will experience spiritual peace and enlightenment. This child will be like the shining sun, not only for his family, but also for all of India and the whole world. He will be highly renowned, and it is my good fortune to have been chosen to name this great soul." Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jaya, Śrī Śrī Devpurījī Samanevā Kī Jaya, Śrī Śrī Mādhav Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān Kī Jaya, Śrī Svāmī Maheśvarānanda Gurudeva Kī Jaya, Sat Sanātana Dharma Kī Jaya, Āj Kiyānanda Kī Jaya, Ṛṣi Muni Mahātmā Kī Jaya. And so, tomorrow is the Diwali, the incarnation of Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī, and we will worship tomorrow. All my dear brothers, bhaktas, everyone, worship on Diwali, and Bhagavān Dīp Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī's the next day. We should give further to everyone, like on Christmas, when after Christmas begins, then say that Jesus was coming. So we all got the blessings, and on that day, if someone had some kind of anger, hate, or something, day after tomorrow, they all will forgive everything and again they will have the brotherhood. So we say worship all together, all countries and wherever you are. I pray to Mahāprabhujī to give us blessings for peace, harmony, good health, and wealth. Till tomorrow, Deep Nain Bhagvān Akī.
