Our origin is in God

A spiritual discourse on the five sheaths of existence and the nature of life.

"God has given us this body. When the soul, the ātmā, enters the body, it comes into this world, to Earth."

"These five kośas, one after the other, Annamaya kośa, prāṇamaya kośa, manomaya kośa, vijñānamaya kośa, ānandamaya kośa."

A speaker, conveying blessings from Gurudeva Swāmī Madhavānanda, explores the journey of the soul into the human body and the five energetic sheaths (kośas) that surround it. The talk contemplates the cycle of life, the nature of God across traditions, and ethical principles like non-violence and forgiveness, weaving in references to Jesus and a parable about a fruit tree. The session concludes with a tribute to Satguru Dev on the anniversary of his Mahāsamādhi, honoring his life and teachings.

Oṁ, Alak Purjī Mahādev Kī Je, Devādhī Dev Deveśwar Mahādev Kī Je, Āradhī Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī Kī Je, Hindu Dharma Samrāṭ Satguru Svāmī Madhvanjī Bhagavān Kī Je, Satya Sanātana Dharma Kī Je. Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ... Good evening, dear sisters, brothers, yogīs, great saints, and all children. Blessings for everyone from our Gurudeva, Swāmī Madhavānanda Jīho Bhagavān. Blessings from him, from Mahāprabhujī, Devpurījī, Mahāprabhujī, Devapurījī, and Śiva. For nearly four years, Gurudev has been constantly giving me inner knowledge from within myself. It is only Mahāprabhujī’s, but he gives and speaks something through my words. So, welcome. I bless you all. We all humans are doing our best. Everyone believes they are doing good and that they will do everything well. We do not know what is right and what is wrong; we are in between. Though we came in a human body, we know that as humans we have immense potential for knowledge and expression in every country, in every family. And in their families, in their houses, what do they have? Someone has God, Śiva, Śakti, etc. And that is mother and father. Our mother and father in our rooms or in our house are very holy, both of them. That is why God has given them children to continue this in their house, in their country, or in the whole world. To whom should we say they are not good, and to whom should we say they are good? There we are stopping. So, who knows? We know that we are doing good. But others say, "We are also good; we are doing good." Therefore, it is said that God has given us this body. When the soul, the ātmā, enters the body, it comes into this world, to Earth. Then we have various energetic sheaths around the body. As in the body, God has given five layers. Annamaya Kośa. Annamaya Kośa means the physical body, eating. We are living, we are eating, etc. This whole body has immense energies inside, coming like the different parts of the body, collecting as water, earth, air, fire, and space. God has made everything in our body and has given immense knowledge and qualities within these bodies. When the embryo is in the mother, from the very beginning, we think only that now the soul has come into the mother’s body. Only we know that, but that is another matter. How many layers are there? How may God do? Or whose doer? We do not know. But there are many, many steps to come to life here. Also, even a little, tiny creature. It’s not the body, not the body. Which kind of body? Humans are different, animals are different, birds are different, leopards are different, etc. But inside is that. It is the same jīva. Yesterday and the day before, there was talk about water, how water rises in the form of clouds and returns back to the ocean as rain. The whole ocean cannot go up like this. When it comes up from the ocean, and that para goes up, it means immediately when it comes up from the ocean, it’s already divided. It will go where it is, we do not know. Again, it will come onto the earth, into the water, and then again into the ocean. So it depends. But in our ātmā, our soul, in everything it is the same, but God has given these humans for us. 8.4 million creatures. These are, for example, the humans; it’s one creature. The birds, it’s all, doesn’t matter, big, late, as it’s only one. Likewise, many, many creatures, even under the earth, all the time. That which God has done, it will be brought, and it will go, and it will come. And He said, "Now I gave you this life, and you know what you will do, and now it’s you." Similarly, what I want to tell you last, only for us as yogīs, is that you humans are humans. And so, Annamaya Kośa, this is our physical body; the Prāṇamaya Kośa, our prāṇa, the water, the agni, and space. In this, everywhere, in which way, God or nature or the cosmic or whatever it is, they put into which body that will go in. A Bůh, nebo příroda, nebo jakkoliv to nazveme, to rozhoduje o tom, kdo vstoupí do jakého těla. And so it is said that now on this earth, and also in the water, in the cosmic self, what we call gods and this and that, whatever, you know, there are many, many. It’s not only one God. Finally, there is only one, and so they all come together in the space, and we will create something. And that was how this earth was created. But before that, also the difference: the water, the air, etc., all that we are talking about. And we will make on this earth the life. Yes, we will create, we will create. So let’s come, I’m coming to only the human subject. So on the earth, there are many, many people. But they are just lying there, like a stone. We did not send them. They are only lying there. How long will they be here? And others are coming, coming, and coming. They said, "But what to do? We give them life, okay, their life, but they are doing nothing." Then he said, "On this earth and in the ocean, we created, but what will go up?" So it is said, "Jīv jīv bhastre, jīv jīv bhastre," life will kill life. But who and how? So another part of God said, I will give you. What? Fire. What is that fire? In the stomach, that is hunger. And when we are hungry, we say, "Oh, I’m very hungry." Inside is a fire. And how to calm down the fire? Then we have to give something. And when it’s giving them something, they will have to give back. Therefore, it is said, Život požírá život. Zvířata zabíjí a živí se dalšími zvířaty. Je to cyklus. So it is said that I create the fire, air, liquid or water, and space. So, okay, they are coming and going, going and coming. But will they ever eat, kill, eat, kill, eat, kill? They were only there, only here. Then it is said, we bring again into the cosmic. We become one with God. God is not a physical being. No. It’s very nicely worded, what they are telling the Muslims, Allah. And we say Brahma, etc., and Christians say Holy Father. Not Holy Father, no? No, there’s another name. And Christians say, "God the Father." So, because Jesus said, "I am not a God, I am the Father only." So that Father, and that Father is not equal to the fathers we are telling about here. And that Father of the Cosmos, and that comes as Jesus. So he will say, "I am not a God. I am the son of that." Similarly, we all are from that son of that. But now, for humans, it is not that humans will go again to heaven. There is no heaven. Heaven and hell are one room and another room. And one room is the whole Earth. The second is the water, the ocean. Other is below, between the water and the earth. Likewise, there is the space. But after that, completely, that is the one. That is God for us, and we can’t see that God. And we will come in, but it is said, when we give everything, then what should we do? Giving everything. Eating, drinking. Because living creatures want to eat. It doesn’t matter what kind of animal or anything, but they need something to eat. Jīva jīva kṣetei, therefore each jīva, soul, or animal, or anything, každá živá duše, všichni se navzájem zabíjají. Žijí na úkor jeden druhého. A to je ale hřích. So sin, this or that. Dharma and adharma. So dharma is that which then they will see, yes, I cannot kill that. We make prayer, for example, everywhere. At least two countries I know, the religion knows, are the Hindus and Christians. They all, before eating, they pray. That’s it. So we are going further than that. So when we come to this, we should come through one path. And we will do ourselves that we should not do anything to harm others. And this is also different. What is pain, or what is not pain? It’s okay, and that is how we know ourselves. Otherwise, nobody says. So if someone doesn’t do anything, let’s say, not negative, but others will do. Then what to do? So in that, very nicely, Jesus said, if someone is angry or something, and he will give you a slap on your face, then don’t give back, but tell the other side, "Please, if you want, you can have also from here." Holī Gurujī said one day that many people are saying, "Sādhus in satsaṅg, they are telling..." We are sitting near the tree, and the tree is very big. There are nice flowers and fruits, but we don’t have hands so wide, high, or tall. We threw stones when we were children. So we throw the stone, it breaks a little branch, but the fruit comes down. The tree said, "You throw the stone, I will not throw on you again. Eat on you." It’s gone. But I will throw on you the fruits. That’s it. So similarly, even our animals, they know. Our cows give milk. Goats give milk. Elephants give milk. All are giving milk. And they are also taking grass or fruits. So if something is doing like that, don’t give back. But sometimes some people say it. Some people say they are strong people, and we are weak people. So it is said, "I will forgive you, I will forgive you." But the inner self said, "I forgive you, but I will not forget you." Maybe not this life, then other life I will do. So, what is that? That we kill them. And many negative things, talking, this, etc. So we all, we love the animals, we love the humans, we are doing all. It’s a love. You know this little, there’s a dog, a very little dog, and when we are coming from far, he is already running and coming to see us. So in that way, we are going step by step. And if we say that I am the great, we will say, "Yes, thank you very much, you are a great." Why not? He’s a great one. So we will say, very great. But that will come about God. There, we’re writing whether he was great or not. So there are many countries, many religions, many traditions. They are doing their best. And we also have a different, so that we are yogīs and religious, or whatever it is, that we don’t kill animals, we don’t do this and that, and we are not killing ourselves with drugs and like this. So we will lead further. So these five kośas, one after the other, Annamaya kośa, prāṇamaya kośa, manomaya kośa, vijñānamaya kośa, ānandamaya kośa. Čili toto je všech těch pět obalů, koš. Či ta ānanda maya koša je obal radosti. So when you go to this ānanda maya kośa, that only you are eating and the children are eating, that’s all. That is not. It does not rest in that, that you only eat and procreate children. V tom to není, because ānanda maya koša pulls us back. Because they are all five together. And that very fine is that Annamayakośa, Prāṇamayakośa, Manomayakośa, Vijñānamayakośa, and Ānandamayakośa. If we go out of this, then we have another path. We don’t know what it will be. So, all the people, when they die, mostly they say, "My father, my parents, they will come back." And they will not get out from us, because God has done this. This is from fathers, mothers, so it is from the father and from fathers coming father to child. Because what is from the father or the mother, it is. Passed on to the children, and their children, and so on. Well, we will talk more about it tomorrow. And today is again about Mahāprabhujī’s, our holy Gurujī’s, day. And here also in Christianity, there are spiritual days. So I think our yoga name will be Satya Prakāś. Satya means the truth, and Prakash means the light. The light, great light inside knowledge, and so please, you can speak something for holy gurujīs. Thank you. Praṇām, guru sisters, guru brothers. Praṇām, gurudev. It has been 17 years since the Mahāsamādhi, which is the anniversary of our beloved and divine Satguru Dev, Hindu Dharmasat Śrī Īśvara Mādhavānandajī, affectionately known as Holy Gurujī. Holy Gurujī was born in the village of Nippo, in the state of Rajasthan, India, on September 11th, 1923. And from a very early age, he felt a strong attraction to God Kṛṣṇa. So much so, in fact, that he used to pray daily, and he used to weep in his longing to see him. His prayers were eventually fulfilled, which led him to Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī at the age of 17. He traveled a very long way. He heard about Śrī Mahāprabhujī, and he traveled a very, very long way to meet him in Jodhpur. And when he met him for the very first time, he saw Lord Kṛṣṇa, whom he had prayed to daily in his meditations. And from that moment on, he dedicated his life to Śrī Mahāprabhujī. Holy Gurujī has given us many gifts, wonderful bhajans and teachings. His bhajans radiate pure vibrations of love and devotion, penetrating the entire cosmos. And one of his most wonderful gifts of nectar to the world is Līlā Amṛt, the life story of his divine master Bhagavān Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī, and we shall forever be grateful. Our beloved holy Gurujī was, is, and always will be an eternal light of peace, harmony, love, and divine mercy, and I ask you to remember him today. All Hari Om, and we thank you very much. Děkujeme mnohokrát. Thanks is not enough. Nejde ani vyjádřit díky. It is the nektár. Je to nektár? The words, each word is like a drop of the nectar. Nectar of wisdom and nectar of the great saints’ knowledge, and the bhajans and the books that they have written, that will be eternal. Now, in the sounds which we have, always, that as long as we will hear with the same voice, nobody will change. Anyone can change the books or write their books in their name. But knowledge is something else. So now this voice is very, very important, and we will know forever and ever the humans will live. There will be our voice. So, Satya Prem, thank you. So, thank you!
