Gurudev is the servant of everyone

Humility recognizes divine provision over personal pride. God feeds all creatures, from the elephant to the ant. Human effort is acknowledged, but the source is divine. Spiritual practice requires full immersion in the guru's grace, like entering an ocean, not merely testing the water. Jealousy and separation hinder this unity. The inner science of yoga involves knowing the body's subtle systems, such as the 72,000 nerves, and purifying the mind from negativity. Liberation is rooted in the guru's grace, with meditation, worship, and mantra centered upon the guru.

"Do not be proud that you feed everyone. No. It is God. He feeds everyone, from the elephant to the ant."

"Liberation has its root in the guru's grace. Otherwise, you may go to this yogi and that yogi, running here and there like a lost deer."

Om Dīpa Jyoti Parabrahma, Dīpam Sarve Mohanam, Śrī Dīpa Pūjyate Sarva Sandhyam, Dīpam Sarva Satyam, Om Ārādhi Bhagavān Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī, Devādhi Deva Devīśvara Bhagavān, Satguru Svāmī Mādhvānandajī Bhagavān Kī Jai, Alak Purījī Mahādeva Kī Jai. Good evening, my dear ones, all sisters and brothers in yoga and daily life around the whole world. I am very happy that throughout last year and now into this year, we have all come together. Many, many have been coming to our programs, our lectures on Swāmījī Television. And through this, the message and voice reach all others, all human beings—it does not matter their religion or lack thereof, or their country. I respect them all and bow down to them, for we are all children of the cosmic God. My Gurudev, Swami Madhavānandajī, Holī Gurujī, and also Mahāprabhujī said in our bhajans: be humble towards all and bow down to them. Do not proclaim your own greatness. For the more humble and good we are to others, the better they will feel. I am very happy if they attain what they want, good things. Guruji said that Bhagavān Śrīdīp Nārāyaṇ Mahāprabhujī and our Satguru Swāmī Madhavānandajī, Devpurījī, were cosmic. If one could see Devpurījī from a distance in the dark, he was like a great light. But it is said we should be happy only when we can make others happy. There is a saying in India about a very large animal with a big neck—the elephant. Its stomach is, of course, bigger than ours. How do they feed themselves? Some are happy in the forest with abundant greenery, eating there. In summer, when it is hot and there are not many trees, these elephants still try to find a little grass here and there. By evening, their stomachs are full and they lie down. A tiny animal, like a little ant, is also searching, and her stomach also becomes full. O man, do not be proud that you feed everyone. No. It is God. He feeds everyone, from the elephant to the ant. All creatures receive the food they need from God. Do not think, "I am great, I am the one feeding." It is God giving you what you have. Many say, "I am a very rich man. I have companies, I have this, I have that." They want more, and God says, "Okay, take. I give to you." Similarly, it is said that the family you have should be a happy family. What they need, God is giving them. Someone may say, "But I do it. I work. I bring cloth. I do this for my children." God smiles and says, "Yes, you are great. Feed them. Help them. Why not?" Similarly, the spiritual person—the guru, Satguru, or by other names in other religions—also gives to all devotees. The blessings are not for one alone, kept in a private room for one's family. When we open to the sky, we see it is not only for humans; all receive these blessings. You may see it, and many whom we do not see are known to God. When there is a Gurudev and you sit... others come from America, Australia, Hungary, Czechia, Austria, and other small countries. All should come and sit, as on the beautiful beach of the ocean. All should jump into the water and be in the whole ocean. But if someone says, "I don't want that. I will only dip my toes in the water," then it is not good. Then perhaps a big fish will come and say, "Very good, I am hungry." But if we are one hundred together, the fish will not come near. So, do not be jealous. Do not think, "Why is he sitting a little higher?" Therefore, it is Gurudev. Gurudev encompasses all, not only humans but all creatures. That is very important. Then you are in that ocean of satsaṅg with Gurudev. Otherwise, we are lost. Last night, around midnight—for me, day and night are the same; I sleep little and wake up—at about 2:30 in the night, I washed my hands and made my body a little light, then slept again. But Gurudev said, "Gurudev is in the whole world; you have pervaded the whole Brahman." He said, "Brahman, do you know what Brahman is? The whole space, the whole Brahman. Maheśvarānanda, you are in the whole Brahman." I said, "I want to sleep." So I said, "Okay, I will sleep," and I lay down. This is what I am telling you now. I did not write anything in a book to hold and read from. I am that kind of servant. I am a servant of the Bhagavad Gītā, my Gurudeva, all humans, and all animals. I want to serve all. I always think that when I go to Brahmaloka, I will give everything and say, "If I have made mistakes, please forgive me." When I was younger—14, 20, 30—I was a strong boy. I always said my hair would remain dark, without any white. But a few white hairs appeared, and I pulled them out. Within a month or a year, I cannot count how many times I said to myself, "Maheśvarānanda, do not be so prideful. Let it be as it is. Let it all turn white quickly, then you will know you have done your work." Nowadays, people dye their hair black or other colors—golden, and so on. But after two weeks, you see white roots appearing. How long will you hide? Therefore, do not make your hair different. You may use oil for health, but let it be. It is said, brahmāṇḍa, but you should first know this brahmana, your body. How many hairs do you have? Count them, please. I give you one week. Count all the hair on your body, from foot to head. After that, we will let you count inside. These hairs, how many are yours? Take care of them. Do not let them fall, like mine did. My hair was like this, and now I style it a little so it appears more. Truth is truth. All my hair is mine, and God has given it to take care of. Similarly, yogis say: how many nerves are in the human body? 72,000 nerves, including all viscerals. Some call them nāḍīs. Guruji said, "You are my disciple. You came and said, 'I want to practice yoga, I want to receive my kriyās, I want to learn everything.' Very good. Perfect. I was searching for someone." In your body, there are so many nerves. But you should know in which part of the body each nerve is. For example, we can feel if something happens near our foot. Only one very fine nāḍī connects to behind our ears. If you touch your foot with a needle, you feel it here. Because you are practicing yoga, you must first learn everything. I said, "Yes, very good, I will do it." But to be sure, I did not count them all. In yogis' books, it is said how many nāḍīs there are, and that is the truth. About two years ago, or a year and a half ago in Vienna—truth is truth; if I tell it, why not? Of course, if it were something improper, I would not tell it—there was something with a nerve. I went to a very good doctor, a devoted disciple of mine. He studied Chinese medicine, acupuncture, for many years very well. He put a needle in my ankle, just a little there. He placed needles on certain points, from the bottom upwards along the nerves. It took about twenty minutes or half an hour; he placed about twenty needles. I did not feel it at all when he inserted or removed them. But with so many needles, I did not want to move. He placed some near the ear, and it affected somewhere under the armpit, making the heart very peaceful and relaxed. I asked the doctor, "What have you done?" He said, "I performed acupuncture. I am a doctor for this." I asked, "How do you know all this?" He said, "I studied for many years and know all the nerves in the body." The next week, I went again and showed him my chart from Yoga in Daily Life. I said, "Look, this is my science, yoga." He said, "Yes, that's exactly it. You indicate this point, but this point connects only to that one very fine nerve here, not others." This means we know our body. First, feel your hair, then your skin, then inside. Of course, I am not a medical doctor or professor; I am a professor of yoga. In meditation and kriyā, as in Yoga in Daily Life, we have the chakras and Kuṇḍalinī. This is called Sarabhāṇa, the hidden powers of yogis, human science. You all have these books. Look a few pages back; it is all there, very nicely explained. In that book, there are chakras, bīja mantras, and bandha mantras. Many say these are very great, good things. Recently, someone mentioned a person between 80 and 90 years old who, through yogic practices and specific food, tested with blood work like a 25- or 30-year-old, with skin and everything youthful. I wanted to go there, but the coronavirus situation has prevented me. This is the science of yoga, concerning the soul, the jīva, inside. First, there must be no harm, jealousy, anger, or negativity. When we speak negatively, many cells in the body die and many nerves become blocked. Last night, early morning, I slept for maybe only ten minutes. I do not know what was happening. At 6:30, I woke up—my morning time for sādhanā practice. After practicing, I now practice alone. Previously, four or five people practiced with me. But we must be with ourselves, within ourselves, in and out. It is not that tomorrow you will also sit like this; no, slowly, slowly. There are many scientists now with different kinds of medicines and methods doing good things. But it is essential to go nicely and practice. This was in the mantra. Yesterday, there was this mantra, our prayer: Satguru Purāṇa Brahma Hain Jove Sura Naravāt Nugra Niche Janak Dahi Yuga Yuga Pehli Tath Yeh Tanvīs Kī Veldī Guru Yamrat Kī Khān. Sheesh diye Satguru mile toh bhi sasta jaan. Guru Puran, Guru Mūrti, Mukh Candra Mā, Sevak Nain Cakor, Aṣṭa Pehar Nirakhat Rahun, Guru Caraṇ Kamal Kī Or. I have translated this part three times already. In our prayers, we often have this, and everywhere in India, they perform this mantra pūjā. Sākṣāt para-brahma tasmai śrī-gurave namaḥ. Om gurur brahma. Gurudev is Brahmā. Gurur Viṣṇu. Viṣṇu is Gurudeva. Gurudeva Maheśvara, Śiva. Guru Sākṣāt... All this is said: "Guru Sākṣāt Parabrahma tasmai Śrī Gurave Namaḥ." The Guru is Sākṣāt, the real life living with us, Parabrahma. He is here on earth and in the cosmic realm. Tasmai Śrī Gurudeva Namaha—therefore, bow down to Gurudeva. Dhyāna Mūlaṁ Guru Mūrti. Therefore, meditation, prayers, and dhyāna-mūlam—meditate, concentrate, follow everything—guru-mūrti, to the master, your teachers, your guru. Pūjā-mūlaṁ guru-pādam. Be prayerful, worship the Gurudev and his holy feet, everywhere. When I came from Europe, people said, "No, he is falling down, meditating like this. We are Christians." Then I went to some old churches and saw Jesus bowing in front of his guru, washing his feet. When others did not, Jesus told them and washed the feet of his disciples. You know that Jesus' guru gives blessings, dīkṣā, with water, and all ceremonies involve water. So everywhere, in many countries, it is the same. Dhyāna Mūlam Guru Mūrti, Pūjā Mūlam Guru Padam, Mantra Mūla Guru Vākyam, Mokṣa Mūlam Guru Kṛpā. Dhyāna Mūlam Guru Mūrti: meditation on the Gurudeva. Pūjā mūlam guru-pādam: on the holy guru’s feet. Mantra mūlam guru-vākyam: the root of the mantra is the Gurudev’s word. Mokṣa mūlaṁ gurur kṛpā: liberation has its root in the guru’s grace. Liberation will be when we are at the feet of the Gurudev, through the Guru's grace. Otherwise, you may go to this yogi and that yogi, running here and there like a lost deer. When other deer are gone and only one remains, it runs here and there. Then the lion will come and eat it. Hurry home. Om, Dīp Jyoti Parabrahma. Dīp Jyoti, the light, Mahāprabhujī, the Jyoti Prakāś. Parabrahma, that is the highest Parabrahma. Deepam sarve mohanam: Mahāprabhujī is that highest for all. Deepam jyote sarva sandhyā, deepam sarva satya. The light makes light everywhere, in the sandhyā evening and morning prayers. Deep Sarva Sattvam: where Mahāprabhujī is, there is truth. Oṁ Guru Brahmā Guru Viṣṇu Guru Devo Maheśvara Guru Sākṣāt Paraṁ Brahma Tasmai Śrī Guruve Namaḥ. Dhyāna Mūlaṁ Guru Mūrtiḥ, Pūjā Mūlaṁ Guru Padam, Mantra Mūlaṁ Guru Vākyam. Mokṣa mūlaṁ gurur kṛpā. Oṁ deep jyoti parabrahma. Dīpaṁ sarve mohanaṁ. Dīpaṁ sajyate sarvāv sandhyā. Dīpaṁ sarvāv satyam. Oṁ Satguru Dev Alakpurījī Mahādevakī Devādhi Dev Deveśvara Mahādevakī Harādhi Bhagavān Śrīdev Mahāprabhujī kī jaya. Sanātana Dharma Svāmī Madhvanājī Bhagavān Satya Sanātana Dharma kī. Mātā Pitā Gurudeva Kī Om Hari Om Viśva Guru Paramahaṁsī Svāmī Maheśvarānandījī Gurudeva Kī Jaya, Ye Prabhu.
