A Welcome and Reflections on Divine Unity

A welcome address and spiritual discourse on divine unity and the purpose of ashrams.

"Āśrams and mandirs are like beacons in the turmoil, the ocean of saṃsāra. If we stay in the boat of satsaṅg, we will cross this ocean."

"In the same way, there is one God. God is one, and God is God. We don't 'have' a God. Of course we have our God, but we don't know what it really is."

A devotee named Arsham welcomes everyone to a new ashram in Croatia, sharing the story of its rapid manifestation following Swamiji's wish. Swamiji then delivers a talk, using analogies of village life, parenthood, and natural cycles to explain the singular divine source manifesting in diverse forms, the importance of all spiritual paths, and the role of teachers and gurus in life.

Praṇām Gurudev, Hari Om dear brothers and sisters. It is my great pleasure and happiness to greet all of you here and all who are with us through Svāmījī TV. Many greetings from Croatia. This is our new ashram, right in the middle of Croatia. As Svāmījī jokes, we are in the jungle. Before the Samādhi lecture, I wish to say a few words about this āśram. Last September in Strelka, Svāmījī said he would like Croatia to have a Hindu mandir. We have had a Hindu religious community in Croatia for over twenty years, certified and verified as a religious group. Svāmījī said it would be very good to have a proper Hindu mandir and āśram here. At that moment, it sounded like science fiction. But when you think about it, all our lives are like we are living in Līlā Amṛt. We just have to let these things happen. Perhaps for the first time in my life, I didn't think about whether it was possible or not. In that way, things can truly happen. So, within one week of that night in September, we found this place—a large property that already had this little house where Svāmījī is now. Due to this situation, Swamijī could not land in Vienna from India. We are so lucky he can be here with us now. We are planning seminars here and will also build and inaugurate the first Hindu Mandir in Croatia. Our great privilege and joy is that Swāmījī named this āśram after Śrī Alak Purījī, where we will be able to come and be in this vibration, this energy that Swamijī has awakened here. Āśrams and mandirs are like beacons in the turmoil, the ocean of saṃsāra. If we stay in the boat of satsaṅg, we will cross this ocean. But we never know how our thoughts will be. We humbly ask Viśwa Gurujī to spare us from our own foolish thoughts and enable us to cross this saṃsāra. Thank you, Vishwa Gurujī, for this blessing—not only for us but for all of Croatia—and thank you for these few days of satsaṅg with you. You are always welcome. This is not only for Arsham, who is from Croatia, but for all those who are on the path. Thank you for watching. Good evening to all dear sisters and brothers, here and in the whole world. Yoga in daily life is very important in this time. Yoga in their life, and many others—yoga centers, yoga schools, yoga ashrams—it doesn't matter in which countries or what their names are. I respect them all very much. Let us all bring the divine to the whole world. We should know that all the different kinds of yoga centers or ashrams and their work are very important. For example, we are in one village. There is one mother who gives birth to a child, and everyone is very happy: she is happy, the father is happy, all the people. We are not happy for only one child and one mother. In our whole village, there are many mothers and fathers, and we are all happy that in our village, so many mothers have given birth. The father is happy, and all other mothers are also happy that another child has come. We are all very happy, and we see the whole village has children. All the children are playing, very happy, and they come to school. If there is only one child, it is not good. But when all this happens, then we are all happy. We have our children, many of them, and now we will have a school, and doctors, and students. It creates the need for teachers, masters, etc. We will have children, we will need a school for those children, we will need teachers and a hospital. That is how it develops. That means life—a living life. In the same way, there is one God. God is one, and God is God. We don't "have" a God. Of course we have our God, but we don't know what it really is. But we have two aspects of God. One is the God who manifests from time to time—for example, Śiva in Satya Yuga, Dvāpara Yuga, Tretā Yuga, and Kali Yuga. But there is a second aspect, the same God. Once He is fascinating in the whole world, and the same living in the whole country. And so, then one, maybe only one child, or five children, or ten children—and how happy we are. So it is that; it is living life. Therefore, it is said there are so many gods. But after that, all the parents will give some kind of lectures on many things. Some are coming, more power of that God in every village. It can also be a mother; there is every woman. Or the husband, the man—so not only the male is a god. But the mother is also. That's why we call it Śiva and Śakti. These are both in one, and they are Śiva and Śakti, both in our body. They will come together, stay together, and go together. Understand? In that way, we should never think we don't have a God. But there are differences there. The first is that in embryos, everything is there. Everything. Look, for example, at the ocean. How many oceans? And from it comes water, humidity rises up, clouds form. Water is also very heavy. You see, I have my glass, but the glass is full. But that water can also just go into the sky. That is what God is doing. And it will come down again, and we are giving in the whole world. So, let's say that only a very tiny water drop is coming. Or, I found one bird. Yeah, the bird is also giving drops. And there is also water blocking it. So when from the clouds, one tiny, tiny... And there is one that is called the navel. Everything is there: animals, all animals, and fish. All. Some give birth to young ones, and some of them lay eggs. In each of us, and in each leaf of this tree, in this tree will be that kind of fruit and juice. The same leaves will always be the same leaves. Similarly, there is what we call your father and your mother. And that comes from that. Why is it said? From how we are coming, not from the ocean. We have to go from the ocean up to the sky, and it comes back then, because that is a purity down. Then it's different, a very pure purity—that father and the mother. So the father gives this seed, and your son, when he is born, will come exactly like his father's body. All the mother, her sister, daughter—it has it in them. And we know how our body will be when we are getting older and older, how it will be. And also, the father was also the same. That's the purities. But now, mixed. It tries to come sometimes, but again, everything is destroyed. Did you understand? Yes. Then bringing one child's son exactly like his father. Yes? Yes, yes. And if your mother will give a child the wishes from the Chinese... China is very good, beautiful, very good people, everything. But it's not like a Croatian. This Chinese mother is sitting, but the child is a beautiful Chinese. So you see how things are changing. So, there is no wrong. Croatia is like this, Yugoslavia is okay, Germany is okay, British is okay, Indian is okay, etc. Why not? We are all human. We have all qualities, but what is something that changed? And so is that how it comes, all, and how you will come, but different. This father and that father, the feelings, and it is a different thing. One likes to eat mango, and one eats apple. No problem, but quality is different. Similarly, they are all good. I am not telling that they are not good, but when it begins, this, and we say it now, how the qualities come in, and in that sometimes comes that kind of energy inside, but it becomes very spiritual, and now you are all here. Many of us are different, but there is something from Alak Purījī, from Śiva long, long ago. We don't know it, and so when you come... In, let's say, the yoga, he is also yoga. We are taking how to do, that's all. Football is also yoga. Like with all, but in yoga, is that in each and every nerve system? Every nerve system, also the bones, everything—the whole is different. It is like that, but the quality is different, and so is that. It is everywhere. It is said first, "matṛ devo bhava"—first is God mother, then father, and then coming on the earth, then let's say humans, and the child we are learning little tools. And they like the toys; for this child, toys are like a god. And after, let's say, we are giving them how to cycle, they have given you. Does it matter? But that person was teaching you how to go with the cycling. Or, let's say, how to milk the cow. Can you milk the cow? So, somebody has to teach, or car driving, listening. That's the teacher. That teacher is our guru. The male king is our guru, and then someone tells aeroplanes, so you cannot just take an aeroplane and go. This is teacher, guru, so we have so many gurus. And it is said, without teachers, school teachers, kindergarten teachers, all are our gurus. We call the teacher, and you call the teacher, and you call guru. That's the difference. So, who is teaching how to live a nice, good life? And so in that way, father, mother, they are also now teaching them to become a guru. But mother and father said, "Do this," and the children said, "No." We go for swimming, they say, "No breakfast." This teacher is not good because this child is sick, that's it. Similarly, that many think, and then it's coming like spiritual, spirituality, gurus. So now in these times, there are two gurus, great gurus. They are like scientists and many things; they are also gurus. But the other guru is different. Even he has not gone to school, but awakening within himself, so this, even the scientist and everything, after there is no life more, after the life. But in every religion where there is spirituality, they think of God, where they go only to Allah. Yes, it is, and they believe, and they feel it is. So, why not? This day, that day, that day, but at once we will be all in one. So, we will give more lectures, and other lectures will come. And therefore, you are also gurus. But which guru? We will go further. I have enough time. I still have a long life, so I will do it slowly. If I give all, then tomorrow nobody will come. Because this is how to go down the ocean in this sky. Many times I am looking at the sky, mostly at the airplanes and the ocean. And we are between. So, all masters, all mothers, all brothers, all fathers, who have good things, they are giving you good things. Our one is distracting, and distracting it has to be. We were eating, but somebody will take out. Otherwise, tomorrow we will not eat anything good. That is reality. This tree, these leaves, you know, many times I told, this leaf falls down from the tree. And the wind has taken away. Die very far distance somewhere. I don't know, this leaf said, "Will I come to my mother or my father? I want to come back." Then he said, "Yes, yes, but through the friend, how it is there." The leaves will eat the cow. The cow will give something further. And it will come to the very nice turtle. The dog from the cow's... And that will then go to the roots, and it will go again there. Oh, I am again in my roots. But when will it be? We don't know that is.
