You are great but remain on the path

The living guru and true path are found within an authentic lineage, not through blind faith or exploitation. Modern science connects us physically, but only genuine spiritual transmission guides the soul beyond death. Many teachers and paths exist, each like a mother to her child, yet the root parampara is essential. Discernment is required, as some promise false powers or exploit faith with rituals. True practice involves a pure lifestyle and steady discipline, not mere claims. The breath's exhalation represents the enduring power; life continues beyond this body.

"Next to God is the doctor."

"Exhalation is forever."

Purījī Mahādev Kī Jai, Kī Jai. Good evening, my dear sisters and brothers from Yoga in Daily Life throughout the whole world. Now we have our Swāmījī television, and we can listen anywhere around the globe, even on a boat in the middle of the ocean. This is a great technique. Science has progressed very far, but this is all from the human brain. We in Yoga in Daily Life are happy, and there are many different yoga teachers, their ashrams, and their various kinds of yoga. They are doing yoga very well. We should respect all yoga teachers, students, colleges, schools, and ashrams around the whole country. We respect them very much, all who are teaching yoga. Yoga is one; yoga means oneness. But we are here, and we have our own knowledge, our home, our ashram, and so on. At the same time, our Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Svāmī Vivekānandajī is very happy to be here with all of you. I was away for nearly one and a half years, distance-wise, but this science has brought us together throughout the world. So we all practice at home or anywhere, and we are together. In old times, and even now, great saints were communicating as we are now, via telephone. But that was only between a great yogī or guru and their real disciples. They were always talking and giving each other spiritual, good things, nothing different. As long as we are alive in the body, we can connect through our science. But when we die, we are separated. We don’t know where we are going. Those great saints give to their disciples, and even after death, the Guru Kṛpā continues, guiding where the soul goes and continuing that yogic science further. Therefore, we should not speak only of scientists and such. We should respect all scientists and all these ancient traditions very much; we should welcome and respect them greatly. Even great yogīs or gurus respect and learn from scientists. Perhaps scientists also come to understand what a guru is, what a yogī is, and what science is. For example, there are doctors, scientists, and many others who, according to their religion, observe holy days and pray to their god. Those who come and say, "No, we don’t understand, we don’t want any yogīs, swāmīs, spirituality, or gods," are, of course, entitled to their view, but they are like dry. We should understand both sides. It is said that even with our knowledge from colleges, schools, and universities, we respect yogīs and gods, even though those saints or yogīs did not attend universities. Sometimes people say, "No, we don’t want doctors and such." Well, that is your decision. But suddenly an accident may happen. How many things are broken in your body? An ambulance comes and takes you to the hospital. A doctor comes, and then we know that doctors are great. We thank them; they gave us life. Our Gurujī, Svāmī Madhavānandajī, the Holy Gurujī, always said, "Next to God is the doctor." When the Holy Gurujī said these words, he also said this: we who are sitting here are all very great people; you have immense knowledge and live very happily and well. But you come again, saying, "I want to go further. What is higher? What did the ṛṣis go through?" Perhaps sometimes scientists or yogis will come and say, "Even if you die, I will talk to you." And they will talk with you. But we should know whether we will be capable of that or not. Our Gurudev, Svāmījī Madhavānandajī, once told a story, and I have also told it to people many times. The Holy Gurujī said that one should not be blind. It was a very good story. There was a family, like a king’s family or something similar—it doesn’t matter, king or workers, no problem. They had only one son. They sent him to study in a European city. His brother’s son went to study in London, as Gandhijī did, and he stayed there for about five years. At that time, there were no airplanes, so travel across the oceans took a long time. His father died. He was old, and his wife was there. They didn’t have a daughter, only one son. His mother was very spiritual, his father was very spiritual, and he was also very spiritual. But while studying in London, somehow his thinking changed. He began to say, "This spirituality is nothing," and so on. They sent him a letter informing him that his father had died. He was sad, but since his father had died, he said he would come after two or five months. There were some paṇḍits or spiritual people, I think, who were looking into some books and seeing many things. When he returned from London to India, he came home sad. His father had died, and his mother was there, very, very sad, as is always the case when someone dies. He went and spoke with his mother, who was crying. Then he said, "We had a very nice cow." The mother said, "My son, our beautiful cow gave very nice milk, so much milk." But your father died, and the paṇḍit, the Jyotiṣī, said, "Your father is in heaven, but he wanted to have your cow’s milk." So the paṇḍit came to my mother, and she gave him the cow, and he took it. His son had studied for years, and he could not tell his mother, "Mother, why have you done this?" Then he went to his father’s bedroom, where he always went to pray and offer praṇām. He went to offer praṇām. There was a very beautiful sleeping bed. He asked, "Mother, where is my father’s bed?" Gurujī, my father also had a very nice walking stick, beautifully made with gold and everything. It was my grandfather’s stick. She said, "Yes, my son, your father has ascended, so it is perfect for my Father in heaven." Then he said, "But Father always ate very good things, many nuts and such." Because your father always ate very good things, the paṇḍit came, and she gave him all the good things along with money. "My son, you know your father was very nice and good, and I gave to him, and he is in heaven." The son did not tell his mother anything about why she did all this. But more or less, everything in the house was taken by the paṇḍit: the cows, his father’s bed, stick, and many things. One day he said, "Mother, I would like to invite all the people from our village and neighboring villages to hold a ceremony and give everybody some food." About 5,000 people came. The mother said, "Because your father was always giving, my son, you are so great that your father will go and give everything and feed them." He said, "Okay, I will give everybody a meal, but who will take it all? Who will bring my father into heaven?" "Yes, these are all paṇḍits." He said, "Oh, they are great, mother." And they give everything to them. So he provided very nice, good food for all the thousands of people. There were about 200 to 300 paṇḍits. He said, "This is for all the paṇḍits on one side." And he said, "You all, my friends, my family, and others, I give you very nice, good food, all sweet things and everything, as Indians do." For all my friends, family, and the people who came, we will give them the best food, the best sweets. This story gives us knowledge. I am not talking only about this little anecdote. Everybody got very nice food. Then, before serving, he said, "I should first give to the Brahmins, the paṇḍits." So he said, "Oh, Paṇḍitjī, please come." All the paṇḍits were sitting there grandly, with tilaks and such. Thousands of people were sitting there, and a few hundred paṇḍits were sitting on the other side. He said, "You know, all these paṇḍit Brahmins are great. They are great for us because they send all our ancestors to heaven. Isn’t that right, Paṇḍitjī?" They said yes. "Oh, very good. Mantras?" Yes. "And you give prasād?" Yes. "And then what we give you, can you also give to him?" "Oh, my father had a beautiful bed. Was that given to him?" "Oh, yes. Great. The stick?" Yes. "Everything, even the cow?" Great. "So, can you bring everything to my father?" "Yes, anything you want, it will come to your father." He said yes. He said to everybody, "Please, all paṇḍits, begin to bring the food." But then he added, "All paṇḍits, my father, every evening he was eating meat and drinking alcohol. He could not sleep without it, always from very good goat and such." All the paṇḍits said no. Paṇḍits cannot do that. "What are you saying, boy?" "I am not giving it to you; I am giving it to my father. I cannot go there, but you are taking it and giving it to him. Now, all you have to eat is the goat meat and the alcohol." He said no. He said no, because his cow was there, and his father’s bed, and all that. "But my father is very sad because he cannot have meat and alcohol. Please send it up to him." They said that cannot be done. "Then? Everyone has to have some, otherwise I have a stick. Did you take from my father?" They said, "No, no, no." "Okay, then who was the best paṇḍit? Paṇḍitjī, come here. Bring my cow, bring my bed. Everything is in your house, not in heaven." So, he brought everything back. In such a way, we people are still not so far advanced, but we are learning. We have colleges, universities everywhere, scientists, etc. We said exactly that, and that is there. But did anyone go and bring their cow there? Therefore, the real Guru, the real Ṛṣi, they are different from this. So many people will come to you and tell you, "Yes, I can make Kuṇḍalinī Yoga, and this yoga and that." It’s not like that. Therefore, you know how many years I was searching, and we came to the roots, our roots, of our Guru Paramparā. Alak Purījī, from Śiva’s time—that’s called Satya Yuga, Dvāpar Yuga, Tretā Yuga, and now it is Kali Yuga. In Kali Yuga, it is now like Corona is coming, and that Corona has attacked the world very, very much. And this is nothing; more will come. But I know that you all, I think and I know and I am sure that our disciples, you were very positive—no need for that positivity, okay? Now the credit, but spiritual: no eggs, no meats, no alcohols, no... like that. And by living like that and practicing, you did not suffer from the corona. I was in India for three to four months, about two or three months ago, and people were asking me. There, my people are dying, and this and that. I said, "I don’t know." For 52 years, I have been in other countries. I have my dear ones, my brothers, my sisters, my doctors, my teachers, my students, or my bhaktas. But all our Yoga in Daily Life practitioners are very clean, very clean, and they don’t die. Some may be very old or may have come into contact with corona patients many times, but even those who are yogīs, doctors, and working in hospitals were not infected. I have some doctors here, my disciples, and they were not taking eggs and such. So I sat there and then asked in India. I was in Jadan, and so I spoke to Swamiji television through this. I once asked, "What will be if it is really truth or not?" And so I asked all Yoga in Daily Life people around the whole world. Yoga in Daily Life practitioners are mostly all: no alcohol, no cigarettes, no alcohols, etc. And I wanted to know; I talked to many doctors and others. He said, "Please, can you tell us if Yoga in Daily Life is really that good, so that we all are healthy and very good?" Can you confirm if yoga is so good in everyday life that we are all healthy? Mahāprabhujī’s, Gurujī’s, bhaktas are like you are here today. So we cannot say to some doctors, and like this, "Oh, they are doctors and this." But the doctors are also not God, but they are doing the best for us. In the same way, yoga is not only āsana, prāṇāyāma, and something like this, but there are further signs. And that is the kind of signs from Mahāprabhujī’s Devā and Mahāprabhujī’s disciples’ books, bhajans—how great it is. As I told before, there are many, many yoga students, and if there were not many, many yoga teachers or yoga, we would not be complete. In this city, what is that here? Rijeka. A lady gives birth to babies. No, every neighbor has their children. So one mother gives children: one, two, five, or ten, many, many. Why not? And other neighbors, besides, they also have children. Every mother gives the child, and of course, the father also—yes, without the father, it cannot be. But everyone and every child says, "My mother is the best mother." My father is one of the best fathers, and we say, "My child is the best." So, we are like this further. One likes to study very much and go to work more and earn more money or something, and one is only little, has gardens, and lives their life, but we are the same. So, there are some Gurus who have many disciples, and some who don’t want many; they have one or two disciples, but they exist. That’s why it is said: one God. What we said was religion; we have only God, God, and there is no more. But we in Sanātana, our God has not died, because we have two. One is what we call Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva, etc. They are only one side; then what? How many years and years, nobody is there. But we, every day with us, they are with us always. And that is called the living guru, the living dharma. So you are all living. You are all alive, and you have it in you. Even our Guru, the great Guru, will say until the last moment of death; at that time he will say, "Now I am the real Master." And if we say, "I know, I have good yoga and this and that, and I will make my own yoga," you know, many times they go and, you know, we will do and everything, they are gone. So that is that: living and not living. We are living, and through the Ālagpurījīs we got this paramparā of the Ālagpurījīs. So you are great, you are great, all of you. But don’t say, "Now I am very great, and I go." It means now you are going into the darkness, that’s it. So you are great, you are the best, you are learning well, and I am very happy and proud of you. And we will teach until our breath is gone, finished. Which power is there, inhalation or exhalation? Inhalation and exhalation—which is the power? Tell, please. We inhale and we exhale. So what is the power? The exhale or the inhale? Both? That cannot be. So the power is that. What? Inhalation? No. Exhalation is forever. Yes, so how we learn what we do, so don’t think that I inhale, but also have to hold back. So there are many things in prāṇa, and this, and many things. We are alive, and we are inhaling and exhaling, and until then we are in that life. But what will be after? Even a little tiny mosquito has the same life, and we also have the same life. We will come further. So today is enough. Thank you, I wish you very well. Deep Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jai, Dev Puruṣa Mahādeva, Satguru Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān, Dev Puruṣa Mahādeva, Alak Puruṣa Mahādeva, Kī Jai.
