I am one and you are all

The present moment is the only reality. The past is completely gone and holds nothing for us now. The future remains unknown and is not within our control. Therefore, dwelling on what has been or what might be is unnecessary. We are here, now, in this holy place where many have gathered and many saints have walked. Our focus must be on being peaceful, alert, and harmonious in this instant. Life is meant to be lived softly and sweetly, in oneness with all, without creating hardness or bitterness. Love and care for the body is the first step, practicing with comfort and adaptability rather than rigid torture. This present awareness and good practice is our lifelong sādhanā.

"The past is past. Even the very beginning of one second is already gone."

"Life becomes soft. And the soft is so tasteful."

Sisters, brothers, all friends, yoga teachers, yoga students, I bless you all in the name of Alagpurījī, Devpurījī, Mahāprabhujī, and the holy Gurujīs. Thank you for coming. We are here in our beautiful āśram. How many times have you sat here? In total, how many thousands of people have sat here? Many of us have had a beautiful time here, with the big trees, grass, and fruits. It is one of the best places. As a yogī, I know yoga is not only physical exercise. Whatever we do in our life—outside in the village, in the forest, in offices, etc.—we are there, and we are also at home. Life is beautiful. The past is past. Even the very beginning of one second is already gone. If we think about the past, it is not good because it holds nothing for us now. We may think again and again whether it was good or bad, but it is gone. We are sitting in the present, and we should be very, very, very peaceful. And we are peaceful, harmonious, and alert. The present is the present. Even one minute or one second before, we do not know. The past is gone. It is here, and what will be after, we do not know. We may think we will do something. We think here to create something, but it remains only in our kismet, whether it will happen or not. Therefore, the past is gone. The present is here. The present and what comes after, we do not know. Therefore, if we were to talk about anything, it is not necessary to think about what it is. Of course, we say things like, "I made that good," or "This is bad," but there is nothing. Now we should be very peaceful, alert, everything. And we will think about what will be past, future, and coming. We have been here a thousand times. How many people are here? And all the energy they have is here. The energy is here. We all come from various distances, in-house. But many people came from far away, from other countries. Why did one come from so far? Some came from Germany, London, Croatia, and many other countries. Why? Because we know, and we know, and we want, and that is why we are here. Many traveled long distances by car. How much petrol? How far? How long? We did not think about that. We were only focused on coming here to our Bhagavad Mahāprabhupāda Ashram. In the past, the whole night you were thinking, "What do I take? What will I not take? I want to go early." And many things, thinking. It was not about petrol, not about money or about a car, but "I want to be here." And we all, our friends from different places, were also thinking, "My friends are coming, we will see them here. Our friends, we will see here." We are teachers. We are students. And we said, "Yes, we will be here for a whole week or two weeks, and all my friends will be here. I will see them. How good it is." In this place, here in this hall, for how many days was our holy Gurujī, Mādhavānandajī, here? He was walking in this ashram, sitting under many trees, and many bhaktas were all sitting, and Gurujī was making a mālā. So it is said that the body is not forever. But that present then becomes past, present, and future. So we are all here, and also those who are living in our ashrams—they are now in America, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, China, everywhere—they are there, connected with this. So, this is a holy place. In every religion, they know where they are going, so we also are here. And we are, as Holī Gurujī said, one in all and all in one. So we are all here, and the One is also here. So you are one, and we are all. That’s it: I am one, and you are all, and you are all, I am one. So we are one, that’s it. It is like when we make some food, like vegetables or something. The one who makes this very good vegetable, or rice, or anything, makes it in oneness. And if sometimes, the whole time in the fire, in the hot water, one grain of rice remains dry and hard... You know, everybody is sometimes like that; maybe one someone is very hard. Our tongue is sweet, a very beautiful tongue, a very soft tongue, and suddenly comes a dry heart. So then the tongue gives it to the tooth and says, "Make powder and then swallow it." It is not easy to swallow this rice corn. Then, in the throat, maybe it is not good. So, life becomes soft. And the soft is so tasteful. It gives some salt, yes. Be good in our salt. But don’t put too much. Otherwise, again, it will not be good. It means if we are going to be not good to others, then it becomes big, salty, or bitter, etc. So we are here, we are sweet, we are soft, we are happy, we are brothers and sisters. We will be one with all. We will not say that this is not good, no, no. All seeds are equal, and we are all bhaktas, we are all equal. You know we have had many, many lectures, and how we brought this, that we were so happy, laughing. Happy, relaxed, comfortable, etc. And we are not only meditating, going for sitting, and sleeping a little. Going to eat lunch. Eating. Drinking water, lie down, meditate. That’s all. It’s not good. Yoga, karma, sukha, śālam. Yoga, karma, sukha, śāntam. This is one nice, very good, they said. What did he say? Yoga, karma. Nice, I told about karma. So yoga, karma, kauśalam. What karma will you do, good or bad? So when we do good karma... So, karma yoga, karma kauśalam, when we will do this, then yoga will be the best for us. Also, first you should tell your body. Oh, my love. Oh, my body. Oh, my whole being. Oh, my beautiful skin. Oh, my skin is itching, so itching. So we make, okay, okay. Always will be good. The blood, muscles, nerves, many, many things—this is our body, our dear one. The most dearest of the dearest is our body. We like all, we like all. We love animals, trees, other people, everything. But still, the body is the first. My body is sweet, happy, comfortable, relaxed. My body. Oh, my body. But Swamiji, don’t let me sit one hour standing, sitting. Hands on the knees, teeth on the thighs. Sit straight. Close your eyes. No movement. Okay. For a while, then I said, "No, no movements for one hour." The other one is still mentally inside. Guruji, you are torturing me. After what he said, I will go in the garden. I will work in the garden, so of course we should not do like this. We should love our body. We should have good posture. And if you want to change your body a little, no problem. So when we move our leg to the other side, it’s much better than only torturing and being painful. So Gurujī said, "Who is your teacher? He is there. He is your Gurujī now." And he or she will say comfortably, "If your legs are very painful, change it, but don’t touch others while putting a leg stretching," and like this, so very nicely. So in this Anuṣṭhān, I have—there I was so very good, and all, they were comfortable, so comfortable. I did not see sometimes, and they were like writing something. You can see with me, my body. Your face, and they said, "Mala, that was comfortable." He was in meditation. He did make mala. Mala was moving. And our mantra is going automatically. And you are like dancing, like you had drunk something very good, something very good, and so what were you drinking or eating? Milk or honey, or what? Okay, that’s also good. Enjoy, enjoy. But then don’t ask in the morning how many mālās you did. The mālā was in the hand. So, mala was going through it, though it was not movement; you were there. But it would be very good to have lunch and dinner before sunset, and after that, nothing eating. Voda, water, water. Don’t drink too much water, otherwise you will wake up others. So, when you come to the ashram in the morning, get up, wash yourself, drink your water. Don’t eat something cold, water cold, bathroom, then you will not be like this, that you flee sleep. Another thing, keep your eyes open. Yes, you see your friends, you see everything. So, for a while, awake and close your eyes. Our body, so this is the first: our body. In that, it’s all physical in the body, including our blood and everything also. Our oxygen inhalation and exhalation, so sometimes we sleep half and awaken, but prāṇa, ātmā, inhalation, exhalation, comfortably coming and going. And breathing is so comfortable. Mala is on your leg. We are leaving. And we say, and everybody says, "Don’t tell them no, no." That is called ānanda. Tomo se hovorí ānanda. Therefore, you should have some water, cold water, in your bottle or something. Drink a little water and take it in the proper palm. Don’t tell anybody, and you go to our mouth, our toe. Finger, nail, eyes, again you will be awakened. No problem. This is not a sin. It’s awakening. So this Anuṣṭhāna, what we have this time, people was very nice, and the teacher who was there was very comfortable, but he was a little bit tired. Otherwise, he also practiced with closed eyes. But he is always open and looking and looking. I think we will give something to the teacher. Yes, something. Some little chocolate, one cherry, something, it is. No problem. All this practice will be... I have been thinking so much these last three, four days, about how I will make you comfortable, healthy, happy, and further spiritual in that way. In the hall, you do practice everything comfortably, but you are not chewing them. Or not eat something, then the neighbor sitting there, you disturb that, that’s it. So it will be very good. So this ashram, this land, is trees. All is for us. Many, many, many times, how many thousands of times we are coming, going, coming, going, and so on. In that way, our programs will be successful. And it is said, this will be whole life, till the last of our life. Like inhalation and exhalation, so exhalation will be till the last time. Then there is no similarity. Our sādhanā, our mantras, all that we need will go lifelong. That means that I was with my guru or my god. Different religions have different names, gods, whatever, but this human... Will take the birth out, then we don’t know, because all go through one hole, including all creatures. Who is who, and where it goes, and where that side. We cannot stand and say, "Where should I go now?" It is like a water of hollow, like a river, very big. So, my dears, lifelong we should be very happy, joyful, friends, good, do good, everything. That is life. Enjoy your life in this life. Otherwise, it will be difficult, difficult. And so you see, we are how many? We are in the hall; the hall is completely full, and there are some children also inside. No one spoke one word. And you know, everyone, they close your mouth. "Don’t speak, Swāmījī will be angry." What clue we had? Mask? We will not tell Swāmījī. So you see, everyone, so we will be happy. We will be very nice. You can ask anytime, any questions, and we will be. More together, we will sit under the trees, we will walk, and we will be nice. I am very happy to see you, I am very happy to see you, and I wish that we will have a nice week. I know, or I wish to ask you, how are your parents at home? Was the way okay? And are you comfortable now? So, if there are any questions, anything, I will tell you very soon. And if you have any questions, I will tell you when you can ask them.
