Without work, nothing can happen

The origin of life and the path of dharma are revealed through ancient wisdom.

In the beginning, there was only water. The gods decided to create the earth, which was brought forth from the ocean. Life emerged from the waters, with creatures evolving and moving onto land. The principle of existence was established: all living beings sustain themselves by consuming other life. This is the natural law. From this state, humans were created. With humanity came the knowledge of dharma and adharma. Dharma is to live spiritually, to care for all and avoid killing. Adharma is to live like animals, consuming without conscience, which bars the path to the divine. The human form and consciousness ultimately originate from the divine source, symbolized by the navel of Vishnu and the emerging lotus. One must not depend on others but become self-reliant, as God provides everything. Practice sādhanā, see all as equal, and live without harming others. Consider the impact of your consumption and actions on the world.

"Jīv, jīv, bhakṣate: all living life, they are eating each other."

"Dharma is spirituality and good, not killing anyone. Take care of everyone."

The day was very comfortable, neither hot nor cold; it was very nice. Our sādhanā, our practice, was also very comfortable. Many bhaktas were doing three different sādhanās. They were doing mālā, mantra, sādhanā. Then there was karma yoga: yoga karmasu kauśalam. Karma, our karma, what we are doing, good karma. Karma kauśalam—kauśalam means successful under Gurū, Devas, God. So, all that we have done was very good work. Without work, nothing can happen. It’s a long story, but I will make it short. It is said that what we call the gods—there was nothing here on the earth. It was only water. And then the earth came out. First, they were talking, all gods—whatever should be called the gods, many, many: Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva, and all others. So, they said, "Now what should we do?" It’s only water, water, water. No earth here. In the whole universe, there is only a glob of water. But they said, "Now we have to do something, because they need again to come and go. There should be something. We should do something. Otherwise, we look like gods, and what are we doing? Because otherwise we look like gods, but what are we actually doing here?" And so they said, first we need the Earth. So the first god was Varāha. That Varāha dipped in the ocean, and with his teeth—yes, very, very big—he brought forth this whole earth from the ocean. And it was turned, turned in such a power that it becomes very light. And it is on the ocean, like a football; everything was moving. That was the first time, and these are all in the ṛṣis that said, "God, how is this?" The first Vāraha. And so on began our earth. And then it said, "We have to create something." All vegetables and everything were nothing. There came creatures from the ocean, like fish and many others, and some came out, and they were like snakes. So they all were coming to the earth. Slowly, slowly, we also came up on four legs. And we were also on all fours, like monkeys or something. And you know, they are talking all the time with saints, many, that we are going and slowly come and become straight and straight. But there was also not that time. So they said, "Okay, we will create, but what?" So they made it; it was like a stone. It’s like a stone. They can do anything. Then it is said, we shall make them active. They added, "What to do?" They came on earth, they’re falling down, falling down, radio. But it is said we have to give this life, and they should move. They said, "Why should we move?" Then it is come, "We will move them." But how shall we create something to eat? Okay, we are lying down. Someone can move my mouth. Also, not good. So again, the king was talking to one god; he said, "I will create on the ocean. On this river, I, on the land." So he created very different things: mountains, all the sand, and so on. Okay, but nobody... Yeah, Manu comes there, of course. So it is said, before the Manu, and so Viśvakarmā, and Viśvakarmā is once a year, there is a holy day, a very holy day. So, what to do? Then, it is said, we have to create in the stomach. And this is agni, the fire, the water, the air, everything. But they will eat only. That is nothing. Let their stomach completely empty. Need to eat, need to eat. What to eat? Yes. Then say, "Jīv, jīv, bhakṣate." So we are creating the creatures, and what? What will we do, how? Then jīva-jīva-bhākṣate, all creatures eat other creatures. So that begins to move, and when there was nothing, they were hungry. So they were moving, see? Somewhere, and if someone is moving, eat them. So it is a jīva. Jīva bhakṣati. Jīva means life. Jīva jīva bhakṣati. Bhakṣati means eating, eating. And then it is, they will die, they will go, we will come. But this is not for that. We have created, then it is, create a human and human. They also begin to eat, but then it is called dharma and adharma. The dharma is spirituality and good, not killing anyone. Take care of everyone. Adharma, adharma. And if they are also eating like animals, then they will not go to Brahman. And so it begins, then Bhagavān Śiva, and then Śiva tells him, "Just go into the ocean, lie down. Only time to time you come out." And it is said from the navel comes the beautiful flower. And that flower that is coming from the navel. And so from that prāṇa, everything was created from the navel. Those days are, they can eat, drink, move. Others like eggs, and that is completely different. And so all reptilians, but they cannot. And so, slowly, slowly, it is in the humans. So the navel, it is Bhagavān Viṣṇu, and from there, his navel, it comes there through the flower’s seed, and that comes to the mother. That is how it will be. So comes then Brahmā. So Brahmā, Brahmā, you should be the creator. From how and where? And that is from on the flower. What was that? Lotus. And the lotus, Viṣṇu was sitting on the lotus. So Bhagavān Brahmā Śiva told him, "Now you have to create." But how? So Bhagavān Śiva put on this flower, and that was coming from the water. That’s why our lotus is in the water and comes out outside, and early morning it opens, and evening before the sun shines again, it closes. And so it is that we come into Brahmāṇḍaloka. Brahmā, it is called Brahmā. Wake up early in the morning before sunrise. That flower is coming out, and the whole day is over the water. And then again it goes. There are many other stories that maybe next day I will tell. But, as you know, that many, the Brahmā, he said, "You create me, but who? Who is my creator?" And so, with this little sting, in that sting was going Brahmā in the ocean, going, going,... No end, no end. He was looking everywhere, so again he went out. He said, "My mind is not from me, God. Who am I? I am Brahmā, but who created me?" So, Viṣṇu said, "Brahmā, I create you." Immediately, Bhagavān Śaṅkara Śiva came. Brahmā, you did not create Brahmā. I am the creator of you and Brahmā. I am, on one side, Brahmā and Viṣṇu. I am the creator, Śiva, Svayaṁbhū. So "svayam" means "I myself," so Śiva I am. And then he said, "Brahmā, how to be good? How to come?" And he said, "He will create." So, without the humans, some from ears, some from eyes, from nostrils, from mouth, etc. And when Brahmā said, when first his son said, "Will you do what I tell?" They said, "Father, Brahmā, we don’t want to do anything. We will only go and do sādhanā, yoga, no wife, nothing, anything. We don’t want any wife, any family, we just want to do sādhanā, do yoga." They came out of the nostrils, also said they are this, this. You have learned this all, I never. So again, Brahmā said, "I’ve lost. I don’t know. I was not my creator, Viṣṇu, and all of these, called my creators, they are also gone. What will I do?" And then one came, and that gave the whole creation. So that is creation was from that, so in that way we came all, asking now, "What will we create? This and this and that and that." And so these humans then came, and they were coming like... Like a monkey, and you know that they are always in every country and everywhere, they are talking about this science, yeah? Then was our head, so head is everyone, you know, big, long is smoke, the snake. Very thick, but only the head, that’s all. And it is the brain that will everywhere let go and do everything. Every animal is only from the brain. And we are also in the brain. So, but that also is created. Brahmā, and from the navel, where Viṣṇu is in the water, and from there it comes to everything, which is in the brain. But the root is there in the navel, and therefore it begins. So they give to eat what to eat. Then slowly, slowly, the stones remain, and some become human bodies, and then they begin to eat and move. So, what they will eat, they will find, and if they will not eat right, then the stomach will be empty; there will be Agni Deva. In the stomach is a fire. When you are hungry, we are eating. Being thirsty, we take the water in. So it is said, my stomach, this is, I don’t know which it is. Good or bad, so, but it doesn’t matter. Stomach said, "Whatever it is, put it in me." But then, you will again, somebody will kill you. So, all different creatures are eating each other. Jīv, jīv, bhakṣate, all living life, they are eating each other. But then God said, "What are they? Humans." And then they understood many things. Many still don’t know. They are eating everything. There are many people somewhere. Now, when is the time of the summer? And now, by the sunsets, many, many,... many animals are flying. All they are eating. All birds, they are eating. Yes. So, there are Jalchara, Thalachara, and Nabachara. One is Jalchara, in the water. Thalachara is on the land, the earth. And Nābchara, only they are in the space. They are born, they die, everything is there. They always fly here and there. Some creatures, if they fall down on the earth, cannot again rise up or fly. Then they die, so they want all the time flying. In the flying, in the born, everything. Jalachara, Thalachara, Nabachara, these are the three, and so Agni Deva. And through that, it is so we are brought slowly, slowly to this, like some holy people. It was not easy to come, yes. What is it? And when they understood, then, you know, yesterday you were listening from India, there is a university and how much it was, and they were listening, they were learning. So we are all very far now. We do many things, many things. We know all, we do very well. We are working, and if someone does not work and only lies at home, okay, your mother and father will feed you something. Or his wife will give you, the one man is, he says, "I don’t want anything." So his wife is going, working, bringing food, making food, and everything. And he’s lying on the bed still, and she said, "If you want to give food to me, then go out." Like that, people are also. And so we have to become one on our self. Don’t depend on others. It will come. God will give everything. So then it is how it is. It is said that the one who is feeding God is a very big animal. What is that? An elephant. An elephant, how much does it need to eat? God has given. He will eat. And until the end, God is giving them. So what we are doing, what we are doing, what we are doing is only what God is giving. If somebody takes away everything from you, God will give everything. So, the humans, then it is said, yes, we should live life good, healthy, comfortable, and we should feed that kind of food which we cannot kill them. Them. But now many people say there are ants inside, or some animals in our food can come, or we are eating vegetables, and this is also life. They say it is only when fruit is ripe and falls down that we can eat. Then there remains only air, and that is called the air, in the air. We are drinking the prāṇa. Then he said, "Now I don’t want to give you any more prāṇa." He said, "I don’t want to take your prāṇa." Then he said, "Brahmaloka." Some Jainas, they had some kind of... this person is dying, then they let them... how to do? But we all said, "We don’t want to eat all these animals." But when something happens and it goes food-like, then this, we are not mistaken. So also water is a gel, and water is life. That is also why we are drinking water inside. What do you say? Life is water, and water is life. Jal jagadīś, we said water is God, God is water. So, like this, many things. But we should not destroy or kill someone like that. And that is what is growing. That is the difference; we can take the flowers, or some flowers, or fruits, and many things. But don’t kill that tree, because that will give again. Therefore, in this sādhanā, think about that. Many times, it is said that we should, you put it off, it is cold, or you can put it on the other side, and air will come this side. And so, some people, I have seen this is not, and I have learned that’s beside or something, making sādhanā and look, that’s it. And so they are doing sādhanā, many people, so one cannot control. We had once in this country, Czechoslovakia at that time, and we were three. One was a driver, one, I was sitting with the driver, and there was one female, she was sitting back. We had a very nice dinner before sunrise or sunset. And then we went a far distance from that time; there was no highway, not like this. And someone made very nice food for us. Very tasteful things, and I said we will eat after the border of India, so from the Czechoslovakian border after we go, and we will eat there. It was in Austria, so I know all this land there. We got up and we went to the forest, somewhere on a farm. We put our car there, and I said, "Now we will eat." And I said, "Can you open the food?" He says, "I eat everything." He says, "Not at all, because I told you that we will eat or not, and we said it will take time." And she opened very slowly. Sometimes there was some noise, but I don’t know what it is. And then we were sitting. And we put one cloth, and we will eat. So, can you please bring some food? She says nothing. "Why? I ate." I said, "Okay, no problem, but you should have told so that we could drive further." So, some people are like this in the practicing and all. Somebody put, I think. Thanks. To God, 80% of you do not eat this chewing gum. But in some, let’s say about 20 years, this was all the time. And it is said, some doctors also said it’s not healthy. But it is like that, their tongue, the taste of the tongue. We are eating at that time, and then after again we eat, then we will eat, then... But the tongue said, "No, I want to taste all the time." So when there are people, they cannot stop certain things. Some alcohol, alcohol. And you know how many alcoholics there are who really die. We have someone; there were two sisters. And one of the sisters was always drinking alcohol. And her brother and one daughter of the sister, they said, "Please don’t drink, and don’t drink," but she could not. In the hospital with the doctors, but she can know, "I will drink." And she had some disease in the stomach. But she had to drink what? Alcohol. Yes, all very this. I don’t know if she is still there or if she is gone. So this is an addict. And when addicted, everything is other. I need this. We have also adapted our mala. Our mantra, our mala, our bhajans, walking good together. So, like, this is their life. So, how it is, and so learn, come and come to know where. So those were the stories from yesterday or this morning. And now is this. So, jīva jīva bhakṣati: every living being eats everything. Jīva jīva kṣati. But that, like God or a human, they will not do. So your practice was very good. Today was a little tiring. But tomorrow is much better, and after three nights, then you will say, "I will not go home. I will stay here." If you give me food or not, there are some fruits. Water, we have two lakes. I will be here. But we will come. So in that way, I wish you all the best. And we should practice, and we should see everyone as equal. Yes, don’t say, "This is not good," or this and that. This morning, some people went, and I didn’t say hello to them. They saw me in the hall, but someone, when they go, I wanted to see them. Hari Om, good Hari Om. Because my bhaktas, my disciples, they are like my brothers, sisters, or my children. And I should, before going, I should come to me. We said always, we said, "Hari Om, you are coming down." And this, but then I have this place, and I can rest there, but I’m not resting. I have many lectures and talking and many things, but still. I am yours, you are mine, and we should be as one. So if there is any mistake, my mistake, forgive me. And if you have some mistakes, I will try to also give you blessings and make it clear. So when we come to how it was, and you know now how much we are destroying Earth, how much coal we are taking out, we feel the water inside. Petroleum, also pulling the water inside, breaking so many oceans and mountains, of course we need our road. One way we say, "Oh, highway, very nice, good." But the roads and highways, and this, most from there is all what was not mountain, so much like oxygen there, and this is also with rubbers and all. And how much of this water goes there, near all our farms? We need this, or we need this. So many things are like that. So sooner or later, we will go. But where will we go? Like they said, that is it, use and throw. But where will we lose? Where will we throw? Many, many, they said, in the ocean, how much it has come. In the street, we have. When I was at that time in Czechoslovakia, which also means other countries, there was not so much dust, and nothing in the district of our old, what we call the pollution. We had our glass, and we could not throw it. But now, with plastic, we throw it, and it falls down. And so many things—now, plastic and many things. So when you see in our house, ask yourself, one day or two days in your house, you were cooking and cleaning, bringing, and you know how much dust we took in pocket and back in the tally, and how much. We are throwing from our... Only you are two persons, husband, wife, but how much dust we are, garbage we are throwing. And so, can we know how many we are here? How nice our kitchen, very good cook, but everything, how we are bringing and how we are throwing, so this is now not easy in life. Simdivnan Bhagavān Kī.
