Yogic Practice Session: Bārikhāṭu Praṇām and Prāṇāyāma
This session covers Bārīkhaṭu Praṇām and Prāṇāyāma.
Sit in Vajrāsana. Perform Bārīkhaṭu Praṇām five or fifteen times. Sit straight for Prāṇāyāma. Inhale slowly into the stomach, then the lungs. Exhale from up to down; do not empty the stomach immediately from below. Feel the air under the nābhi. Place two fingers between the eyebrows. Inhale and exhale through the right nostril only, thumb near the index finger. Do not force the breath. Sit straight while exhaling all down. Close the right nostril, inhale left, exhale right. Repeat left inhale, right exhale. Close the left nostril, inhale right, exhale left. Continue alternate breathing for fifteen rounds. After exhaling, place the hand on the thigh. Close the eyes and feel the breath in the nostrils.
“Feel the air under the nābhi.”
“Do not empty the stomach immediately from below.”
