Guru can take you across the ocean

The Guru is first and foremost in this world.

The Guru stands at the pinnacle. Even avatars like Rama and Krishna were Gurus. They followed the Guru’s orders. Humans must make the Guru central. The Guru alone carries one across worldly existence. Without the Guru, nothing is possible. Only the Guru grants God-realization. Only the Guru bestows Moksha. Full devotion to the Guru brings constant happiness. All problems and sorrows vanish. The Guru’s blessings bring easy success. The Guru’s grace rests upon the disciple. The Guru channels divine grace. Through the Guru, one becomes one with God. Stay devoted to the Guru always. Full dedication to the Guru is required.

Akhaṇḍa Maṇḍala Kāram Vyāptam Yena Chara-charam, Tat Padam Darśhitam Yena, Tasmai Śrī Guruve Namaḥ. First of all, I offer my respects to the lotus feet of my revered Gurudev, Viśvaguru, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Maheśvarānanda Purījī, with full prostrations. As expressed in the mantra, Sadā Śiva Samarambham, I first bow to our adorable Śaṅkar Bhagavān. The meaning is: beginning from Sadāśiva, then to Śaṅkarācārya Jī, and thereafter to the entire line of my Gurus—I pay my obeisance. Today it is our great fortune that worshipful Gurudev has arrived in India. Only two days have passed since he came to Bhārata, and now he is present here in this ashram to bless us, and all of us. In this whole world, the Guru is first and foremost. He is at the pinnacle of everything. As we sing in the āratī, even Rām and Kṛṣṇa—who are greater than any—are themselves Gurus. That is to say, Bhagavān Śrī Rām and Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who were the avatars of Viṣṇu Bhagavān, themselves also held the role of Guru. They too followed the Guru’s orders. So why should we human beings not emulate the Guru, not make the Guru central in our lives? The Guru is that one person who can carry us from this shore of the ocean of worldly existence to the other shore. Without the Guru, nothing is possible in this world. Our uplift, our redemption—only the Guru can bring that about. The Guru alone can grant human beings the attainment of God. He is the one who bestows the realization of Mokṣa. People sometimes ask when one can take Guru Dīkṣā—whether it should be on Guru Pūrṇimā day, for the bliss and auspiciousness of the disciple. As I was saying earlier in Hindi, regarding Guru Kṛpā, and as our beloved Gurudev always says: Guru Kṛpā Hi Kevalam, Śiṣya Khyānand Maṅgalam. When you have full devotion and dedication toward your Guru, you will always be happy; all your problems, all your sorrows, will vanish. The Guru is that one person who can cross you from one shore to the other, who can enlighten you, who can make you one with God. Without the Guru, I do not think anything is possible in this world, and you should always remain devoted to your Guru. When you have Gurudev’s blessings, everything in life is easily accomplished. With His hand of grace upon you, with His blessings resting on your head, you will always be successful in life. And just as Holy Gurujī always cared for Swāmījī and constantly blessed him, so too Gurudev is ever channeling what Mahāprabhujī is saying and what Gurujī is saying: Nāhaṁ kartā Prabhuḥ kartā, Mahāprabhuḥ kartā, he kevalam. So Mahāprabhujī is with Gurudev, and Gurudev is with all of us, blessing all of us. He will always be with us. Om Om… Kī Jai, Devadeva Devīśvara Mahādeva, Kī Jai, Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, Kī Jai, Hindu Dharma Samrāṭ Paramahaṃsvāmī Śrī Mādhvānanda Purī Jī, Satguru Deva Bhagavān, Kī Jai, Viśvaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Paramahaṃsvāmī Śrī Maheśvarānanda Purī Jī, Yogirāja, Kī Jai. In different countries, yes, you have seen very beautiful bhajans and Sanskrit and everything. Thank you. Tomorrow will be something even more beautiful. Hari Om.
