Respect for all festivals

The celebration of holy days reveals the oneness of all existence. The approaching festival for Mahāprabhujī coincides with Christmas, uniting diverse worship. Geographical distinctions are irrelevant; devotion connects all. The relationship between guru and disciple is one of absolute unity, akin to mother and child. All living beings are part of Sanātana Dharma. The body is a temporary garment for the eternal soul. The soul is like a drop from the ocean of God; all are one in essence. True worship understands this divine oneness within every heart.

"Guru and disciple are one. If you take them as something different, then you are not a guru or a disciple."

"Our God is in our heart. God is one, and one is God."

All my dears, all sisters, brothers, children, good evening. It is a very nice time. The days are coming for our Ārādhya Bhagavān Mahāprabhujī’s Puṇya Dina. We know we pray all the time, but for these four days, we will worship specially. I know all my disciples, my brothers and sisters from different countries, are listening about Bhagavān Siddha Mahāprabhujī. Many people may wish to come, but we must manage it—not to stop anyone, but you know how it is; I need not always explain. This year, it coincides with the confession for all, every third year, coming to Mahāprabhujī’s, and with the Christians' celebration—what do we call it? Christmas. And this is for all of us. We worship, we understand, we think, we follow, and also reflect on Jesus. I am very happy. I am happy to be here in India, and that you are here now—our many friends and disciples are all with us in Bādikāṭū, Kelās, Jaipur, and in Jordan. I know it doesn’t matter where you are from; on this Christian day, we are all worshipping together. It is beautiful in many people’s houses. Sometimes I am in America or Australia—and in Australia now it is very hot. Everyone is hot, and I ask them, "What are you doing at Christmas time?" They say, "We want it hot so we can go to the ocean," and they go swimming. In Europe and the Americas, it is cool, and we have different festivals. Often, after the Christian church service, we bring in the new day—what do we call it? The next new day. So, the New Year—it is so beautiful. When I am in Europe, in the Czech Republic, in our ashram—Mahāprabhujī’s ashram in Czech, Croatia... no, Strelka—we make a beautiful festival then. Hundreds of people come. It is very cold, and we make a big fire. It is so beautiful, even for the little children. This is happiness. That is happiness. Mahāprabhujī was there, and he had many, many thoughts. Indeed, he had many things; I do not wish to speak too much of it. But on that day, when Mahāprabhujī was sitting, he told everybody about himself. On that day, Mādhavānandjī was not nearby, unfortunately. But Mahāprabhujī has told us, and he knows, and he is with us all the time. Guru and disciple are one. If you take them as something different, then you are not a guru or a disciple. It is like child and mother. How is the mother and child? The father? So, if we understand that my guru—there are many gurus, like many mothers. Every mother has a child; one has five children, not twenty, but about ten or two, etc. How is the mother happy, joyful? Yes, you know, we cannot always understand men. Men may suffer, but the woman, the mother, she has a child in her womb. It is not easy for mothers, of course, but mothers have more joy in themselves. Perhaps that is more like their life; it is she herself. The child comes, the child is born. So it is with disciple and guru. That is how it is. It is said that in Sanātana Dharma, it is that everyone—living people, living animals, living trees, living everything. If we think it was only once, and then we do not know what we are, then what is dry? Are we dried? We are not dried. The trees are not dried. The earth is not dried. In another way, when the time comes, they are gone, but the same time comes again. So it is with mother and child, father and mother, the child. In that way, we are... understand, in my opinion, please. Of course, everybody will tell their friend. I worship, I feel that Jesus—how Jesus’s life was. How Jesus has given us—he gave everything, everything. It doesn’t matter how. Similarly, we also: mother gives, father gives. In that way, Christmas is coming, and we are all worshipping, working very much, looking forward. Children are looking forward, and mothers or fathers also—my God, not only mothers—bring so many different good things for eating. Yes. Similarly, like Diwali. On Diwali days, how much we make so many fruits or sweets, and this and that. They see more or less the same thing. And that is also when it comes to Jesus and it comes to Kṛṣṇa. When Kṛṣṇa is, how is that? And so Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva, everything. We are living beings. We are living beings, which means we are all one with God. God is one, and one is God. We are sitting here, but you know, our bodies are different. Someone is big, someone is small, some are very like this and like that—I don’t want to say it, but everyone is there. But inside, in our heart, that is our God. Our God is in our heart. When we give up our life, somehow, what can we say? We can say one died, or one fell down, or something. The body is very important, very important, and we need a body. But it is not forever. Many times it is said, many, many ṛṣis and great siddhas at that time were not Croatians; there was not this. And there it is said, people came—these are called Rākṣasas, something like this or that. And one sage comes, "O God, please grant that I am forever." So she said, "No." Brahmā said, "No." You can ask for how many ages, but still, you have to go once. And so, is that how it was? Fighting and this and that. And we, others, we know that we will go. But we go not with fear, nothing. It is like my dress. Now it is smelling very much. So, what will we do? We take the dress outside, we wash it, and we take another dress. So it is not like, "Oh God, my breast, my this"—I want to say this. No, no. Similarly, our body is the five elements. And after that is our ātmā, our soul. It is like this: there is an ocean. Then there are clouds, many clouds. Then water comes, only some drops, and it hurries home. Oh my God, we are thinking the rain will come—a few drops, and somewhere it is very much. So it is said that this man, or he who is not here, they will... one drop is also the same, and the ocean is also the same. Similarly, we have one little animal, or anything, and others; we are all one. So in this way, we have the day of our Mahāprabhujī, and we will have a very nice program. And, of course, Christmas is coming, and we are here; we will worship Christmas. It will be very nice. I am very happy that they are from Europe, and now they are with us. I am very happy for you, all of you, that I am with you and worshipping. But it is: God is one. We are all like God, and what we are worshipping is like one, one drop. Everyone, your body, there is blood. Blood is everywhere, blood in everything. Even the mosquito has it. Everything. So there is God, one, in oneness. If we can meditate, if we can worship, if we can think, then we will understand. But if you are doing something and going wrong again, and this, and going wrong, then it is not good. It was broken. When it is broken, then we do not know when the drop of water will go into the very hot, very, very hot sand. It goes in, and we do not know still when it will be, how much. So we said, "All be." For us Indians, Sanātana Dharma, which is all the yogīs, all this—we are gods, the gods of the gods. Living life, living the living religion. And who said that? Others may be, they are also living, but not like that. And so, Satya Sanātan, Dharma Sanātan. We wish—I wish really for every festival from any religion, in every country; I respect everybody with hands folded. This thing, we will come and we will work. And so I wish you a very nice time, waiting for the Christian Christmas. So let us see how Christmas will be okay, and we will make happiness, happiness for all. And we will see again and see you. With this, we will now have some bhajans. We will sing the bhajans: Śrīdīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavānakī, Dev Puruṣa Mahādevakī, Madhvarāñjī Bhagavānakī, Satya Sanātanadharmakī. Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ... Tomorrow we will speak about this again, okay? Yes, it is still... we have one, two weeks, okay? We have the two also, what we call the light, will be the next three and the fourth, and then we will see how it is going. Oṁ Namaḥ. Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Om Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Om Namaḥ Śabdaḥ Prabhu Sar Śaraṇa Parāyaṇam Amma Sabhā Dāsa Prabhu Śaraṇa Parāyaṇam Om Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇam Om Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇam Amma Sabhā Dāsa Prabhu Śaraṇa Parāyaṇam Om Namah Shri Prabhu Deepa Narayanam.
