Respect the life of other creatures

The unity of all life is realized in Satsaṅg, the gathering in truth. All living beings share the same divine essence. Consider an ocean with a ship upon it. All creatures aboard share one vessel and one fate. The difference lies only in the physical body; the soul is the same in all. Every creature possesses the life force given by God. Humans have received a higher instruction. One should not kill any creature, as all are part of the divine whole. The principle of non-violence extends to all actions. In this age, widespread killing creates a cycle of suffering. Returning to truth and unity ends this cycle. All of humanity is one.

"All are in one. Not only humans, but all creatures are there."

"One should not eat other creatures because the human is near to God."

Oṁ Śānti, Śānti, Śānti. Good evening to all our sisters, brothers, and little children. We are gathered here in this divine hall for Satsaṅg. 'Sat' means Truth—peace, harmony, and all that is good. 'Saṅgha' means together. So, whenever even two are gathered in truth, it is Satsaṅg. All who are sitting with us are already in Satsaṅg. We live with that truth. When we come from Satsaṅg, yoga, or spiritual practice, we come closer to God. But God is not only for us. All of you, even if you have animals with you—cats, dogs, scorpions—they are all living beings within the divine. Consider an ocean and a ship (jahāj) upon it. On this ship are many people, some animals, and birds. All are in one vessel. God knows this; we know this. All are in one. Not only humans, but all creatures are there. If our ship sinks into the deep ocean, all will perish together—not only humans, but every creature. Every creature knows this life is God's. The difference lies in the bodies—human, animal, and so on—but the soul, the ātmā, is for all. If one animal kills another, it is also not good. We must love, respect, and protect everyone. This principle applies not only on a ship but also in an aeroplane. An aeroplane is very big and heavy. The captain sits at the front, guiding it. All the people are inside, and they may also have a dog or a cat, all living beings. We are all going from here to London or America. The Jīva, the living being (Jīvātmā), is alive in all. Sometimes, people flying for the first time are afraid, but after a day or two, they become happy, even singing. But the animals inside, placed elsewhere, are very scared because they do not know what is happening. They feel, "Will I be killed?" They are also living. Both animals and humans live. The ātmā, the life force in our body, is for everybody. Everyone feels happiness, anger, or confusion. Ātmā is given by God to everyone. As humans, we should know what is coming. All are coming towards Parabrahma Paramatmā. Those who have not fulfilled their purpose will go back, whether they understand it or not. On this earth, and everywhere, there is the vast ocean, and our earth is just a small part of it. In the ocean live all the creatures of the earth, and in the water are many, many other lives. We are all living. Of course, jīva jīva bhakṣate—every creature eats other creatures. Every creature tries to eat others. But certain animals, like the cow, buffalo, or elephant, do not kill; they only eat grass. They are high and do not fall. Jīva jīva bhakṣyate. Those animals do not know better; they eat each other and will go back, only to come again. But then Parameśvara, Paramātmā, gave humans something more. These humans were many, and they also lived, eating things. Then came the Satgurus, the Gurus, Bhagavān, God. They said, "We will not kill any creatures." We should not even destroy too many trees or other things. We can eat fruits when they come, and we can eat vegetables. That is acceptable. It is said that if one is very hungry and there is nothing else, perhaps one may eat something, but still, the principle remains. One should not eat other creatures because the human is near to God; otherwise, it is not right. But if people kill beautiful living creatures, and cause them suffering, that is not acceptable. At that time, in the presence of Paramātmā, Śiva, Brahmā, Viṣṇu—and all, including Kṛṣṇa and Rāma—gave the instruction that no creatures are to be killed. Then they gave more pūjā. Pūjā means prayers. We have prayers in the church; that is also prayer. We should eat prasāda, what is good, but not killed animals. Now, even in India, many people have started wanting to eat this and that. But still, many others do not eat such things. When they have nothing, then they might eat other things. We can develop ourselves. We have our animals, cows, buffaloes; they give us everything and peace. Each and every tiny creature is like a small drop of water in the vast ocean. All are fine drops of water. They will go into the ocean, and then we do not know, for they become one with the whole ocean. Peace, peace, peace. Now, in this Kali Yuga, there is very much killing of animals. This will not be forever; it will always come back. What you do, what you kill—when you die, they will kill you. This cycle comes, cycling and cycling. Whether you believe it or not, whether you think about it or not, your heart knows. Your every "no," "yes," and "how I did wrong to someone" matters. We have to come all together, everywhere. Satsaṅg: 'sat' means truth, pure, good, everything. Satsaṅg: 'saṅgha' means all together. Now we are all sitting, but we are one. The whole of humanity is one. In this way, it is Satsaṅg. So you have to learn; you should know. It does not matter if you are Indian, Australian, or Croatian. Everywhere it is good. You can become very humble in this. I do not know how long Jesus was here at that time, but it is said mostly that Jesus did not eat any animals or meat. I have not seen him, but Śiva, Hanumān, Gaṇeśa, and Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān—see how they were living. Now Kali Yuga has come, and it is a very terrible thing. Things are coming, and service will protect us in the coming time. So, my dears, in your house you can do prayers according to your language, but not these killings. Alcohol—alcohol is something, but not for destroying the bodies. It came from when Bhagavān Śiva asked during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthana), and many things emerged. There was also alcohol because it is a medicine, very good, but not for consumption like this. It is just as in a hospital, where a doctor gives some drops, but others may take it and fall down. In this way, we should know. It does not matter if you do yoga or not, but tell everybody: take your life to go further, not down. Jīva jīva bhakṣate. Every animal eats other animals, but we humans should not. In that way, for example, you see that those of you who are not eating meat and alcohol are very good. Now, there are various other people who are fighting, like in Ukraine or elsewhere. We will not do that. In all countries, it should be like our people in Satsaṅg. Then there will be no fighting, nothing. We have to come back to this. It has happened many times. I do not know exactly, but how Jesus was said to have been, and he was killed and hanged. That time was also difficult, but now we know better, more clearly and good. Yet many things are happening. So, our children, we did not know before, but now you know. Then the priest said, "God, I give up all killings. You give me something to eat." We are happy. We are very good. We are very healthy. Everything. We do not want to be like this and that. So, śatāśaṅga, śatāśaṅga. I wanted to tell you that we have here our Gurujīs: Ālak Purījī, Dev Purījī, Dev Purī Jī, Mahāprabhu Jī, Holy Guru Jī, and I am also there. That is what I wanted to tell you. So this was the point. You come, bring my picture. Thank you. You have seen our Gurudevs: Ālak Purījī, Dev Purījī, Mahāprabhujī, Holy Gurujī. They are with us as pictures. Physically, they are not here anymore, but they are present. I am also here. Mostly, everything in India, we want to say what it is. For example, as long as I am living, I should not have a garland of flowers. When a garland is placed on pictures or on someone, it is said, "Oh, this person has died." Now we give malas. Okay, we give a mala, and we give it back. But for certain things, like on a picture, we should not give a garland. A garland means that when someone dies, they place it on the body. So, we should not give a garland on what we call the altar. The altar should not have this. You gave me many things, a mala. Yes, very good, and I give it back. Others... now you see we do not have a Mālā there. We could have given Mālās to Ālak Purījī, Dev Purījī, Mahāprabhujī, Holy Gurujī. Then we could have given... but mine should be without also, okay? You did not know, but now I am telling you. You can have the photo, hanging it like this. But when it is like this, we should not take it out. People are giving to me, and you are coming, and I am going with you, living with you. That is okay. But then, when it is said somewhere, "What happened?" they will give a garland. So, this photo is okay; you like it, but do not put it on the altar. Okay? Tomorrow you can put it somewhere else. And the flowers, if for Mahāprabhujī, Holy Gurujī, or something... I know you have done it with great joy and happiness. That is why every day I am telling you, whether I will tell you or not, I am telling you. Today the whole day I was thinking and talking. Okay? So, Satsaṅg. What is the truth? Satsaṅg and saṅgha—with all together we are, my dears. Tomorrow, then, take it. When we are all here, I told you that in the ocean, in this lake, we are all together. So we are all together, and you are all happy, full of joy as you like. I am also happy, and I like it. But this is what we have to bring now. We have to come to Sanātana Dharma. All this, like you are all happy, good, very good, doing. Sanātana Dharma. So we are in this Sanātana Dharma. We are all together. Please, because people did not tell them many things, but now I tell you, tell them all. And when we say no, we do not want, and we eat... you can eat, but that is going bad. That is what we have to address. Now, some people have begun to teach yoga, but they only speak about yoga; they do not speak about alcohol and meat. They do not speak, but I say we have to speak. I am your brother. I am your friend. Whatever you or my Swāmījī are like, you know. When I came to India from there, at that time even mine was not... but only once somebody gave me meat. Bang, I did not know it came. In France, I was there with people from Croatia. We said, "Let's go to a restaurant for dinner in France." There was meat, meat, meat. We said, "Please, we do not eat this; give us something else." Okay. They brought one plate again. Again, there was meat inside. I said, "Please," three times. Three times I gave the money to the other one, who was my disciple. I said, "I give you money, please eat this, take it, thank you. I am not eating." "Yes, yes, I know, I remember very, very..." So much so, I said, when there is this—animals are animals, eating humans are the humans—and this is why Indians always have their spiritualities and satsaṅgs. But now they also are learning, and they think of these other countries, and Indians think we must also have this and this. So they are going in another direction. There are many yoga people in India, but many of them do not give up alcohol and such things. Many do not, of course, but still some do. So, it does not matter where we are, in which countries. There, I give you my ideas. Let us come together. Help all creatures. The cat—you have a cat and you like it. There are some others who kill it. There are some others that can kill, like this. It is very good when we have our animals at home. Okay, we have love; we are happy with them. It is good. And it is the nature of animals to eat and kill other animals. Yes, it is their nature. Our nature should be human nature. So it does not matter who is who, but you know yourself what we have done. And now we will say, "My Lord, I did not know. It was... now I know." At that time, God will say, "You did not know, and you did it. I give you up." But now you should... this, that is that. It will come, it will come, it will come. Oṁ. Oṁ Namah Śrī Prabodhi Paṇarāi. Oṁ Namah Śrī Prabhu Dīpana. Sab Dās Prabhu Śaraṇ Parāyaṇam. Sab Dās Prabhu Śaraṇ Parāyaṇam. Oṁ Namah Śrī Prabhupāda. Oṁ Namah Śrī Pradīpa Nārāyaṇa. Śrī Dīpna Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān. So we are the children from the mother's womb. There you should... My mother also said, "My son, how pure this is." And speak, give techniques, give everything—what to do, what not to do. Now, the Muslims—Muslim children, girls and boys, all—they are training evenings and mornings, giving their lectures. Yes, very much. All children have to, but others do not. The Hindus, they are also becoming; quickly they are coming for Agarbatti, Hari Oṁ. But the Muslims have their practice; they come, I do not know, three, two days, two times or three times. We see sometimes in the church when we go to aeroplanes, and the time is there. Before, in Arundel, they were doing pūjā or whatever it was. And at airports, there is a place for meditations or something. So mostly only Muslims are doing it. They do everything very well. Everything, very everything. I have great respect for them. They do very good, and we should also do. When I came, about 52 years ago, mostly people were sitting for eating, for lunch or dinner. They all first say something, and then we eat. Also, in German, they are also saying something now. Before that is already... yes, so many, many Indians also; otherwise, Indians, they also make a pūjā or something. So, slowly, slowly, humans, they also think that they are great, but they are not great. We are all Sanātana Dharma. Something happened, sorry. So when I say that when I came to Europe, there are also many, many people—many, before eating, they sit at the table. And now, how many are doing this? Let us say in the city, at first you might see only that Muslims are doing it, but others are going like this. So they are very respectful in their ways, in their path. So, you should be... We have Jesus when you go to the church. There is water inside. Yes, I am waiting. But how many now are going? Some are going with the elderly ladies or people; they have the water there. Others, we go and we go. Then it means that we have lost our way, and we are going in another direction. Jesus, holy mothers, how great it is, very great. Thank you. Oṁ Siddhi Praṇabhagavānakī Sanātana Dharmakī.
