Introduction of the Strilky Ashram

A spiritual leader inaugurates and blesses a new sacred grove for satsang.

"Our yoga people have been in many, many countries: from India, from here in Europe. And from Europe, many of our bhaktas went to other countries."

"I tell you that anytime, if you desire something, if you need something, if something happens, you should come to this place and pray with our mantra. Everything will return to peace and harmony."

The speaker, likely Swami Madhavanandji, addresses a gathering at a newly prepared forest satsang site. He emphasizes the sanctity of the place, its rules of entry, and its power for prayer. He reflects on the ashram's history, its global community of devotees, and the transformative impact of their yoga practice, which leads many to give up meat and alcohol. The talk transitions into a search for the ancient saint Alak Puriji, briefly touching upon associated mythology involving Shiva.

Alakpurījī Mahādev Bhagavān Kī, Devādhi Dev, Devpurīśra Mahādev Kī, Ārādhi Bhagavān Śrī Devpurīśra Mahādev Kī, Satguru Svāmī Madhavānandjī Bhagavān Kī, Śyāvara Rāma Candra Bhagavān Kī, Śaṅkar Bhagavān Kī, Śyāvara Rāma Candra Bhagavān Kī, Kṛṣṇa Kanayanā Lālā Kī. Mātā, Pitā, Gurudeva, Kṛje, we are all here. This is beautiful. What I tell you, all the people have worked very hard for one and a half years. Our Vasant has worked very nicely, very hard, so it is very nice and beautiful. And we will do something more. Here, when it rains suddenly, you can sit here anytime. This is our satsaṅg, our samāj. This is what we are for everyone. However, you must not enter this place with your shoes on. If you do, then take them off. If your hands and feet are clean, you may enter. Just as it is in all our temples where Mahāprabhujī, Devpurījī, and others reside, the same rule applies here in this new place today. I tell you that anytime, if you desire something, if you need something, if something happens, you should come to this place and pray with our mantra. Everything will return to peace and harmony. Know how beautiful this forest is, with all these trees and many, many good birds. It is very good; it is a great, great satsaṅg here. In the āśram, we have many [devotees], and this is a very holy person. From the day we arrived and received this place, we have had no alcohol or fish. Many things [changed]. Thousands of people have always come to our ashram. We were making progress; everyone went very nicely. Elderly persons also lived very peaceful and good lives here. Many, many friends have passed through our ashram—many in other countries like America, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Canada, and many others. Our yoga people have been in many, many countries: from India, from here in Europe. And from Europe, many of our bhaktas went to other countries. In other countries, like Australia, all our Guru brothers and sisters are in the ashram. Many people have very nice practice, and it is very good. They say, "Yes, Gurujī," and so on, but after about three months, they go away. Many people behave nicely and say, "Yes, Swāmījī," but after a few months, they are gone. It is the same in America. But in Europe, Europe is very... they have come into this very much. After I went [there], it was completely different. Now you know how millions of people have given up meat and alcohol and such things. Not only myself and our centers, but many other yogīs, very nice ones. It was yoga, and their life has accomplished this: people come as they are, with meat and alcohol and such, and [then change]. So, you know, everyone—how many of you have learned this? Through that, we were searching for Alak Purījī, and we found Alak Purījī. This Alak Purījī was from the time of Śiva. You see, Nandādevī was a long time ago; it is Śiva's time, and that was with the Alakpurījīs. And then, when the Shiva-Shakti died, what happened? They said Shiva and Shakti died, or she was gone. Then came Pārvatī, who wanted to marry Śiva, but she didn't know.
