Eat healthy food and live as a human

A spiritual discourse on prayer, lifestyle, and simple daily remembrance.

"Morning, midday, evening—always the whole family, women, men, and children. When they sat at the table to eat, they would pray."

"When we open our eyes, then tell, 'I am human.'... And then, second, don't look at animals and this and that first. Mother, mother. So see our mother."

The lecturer reflects on the decline of traditional prayer across religions and its connection to modern societal problems. He discusses dietary shifts, including the rise of veganism, and critiques modern agriculture's impact on the earth. He concludes with a simple daily practice: upon waking, remember "I am human," honor Mother Earth, and reverence water as life.

Oṁ namaḥ śrī prabuddhi pāṇarāya. We were speaking of prayers, pūjā, and worship. Every guru and every religion has its own way of seeing God—which God, which language, which religion. In all of them, each person has feelings and is thinking of God. Those who are religious, from many faiths, have their holy feelings. People from different countries may pray with hands folded like this, or make a different gesture, but they are thinking, feeling, and worshipping. Some pray with hands clasped, some cross themselves; everyone has their own way to remember and worship God. Some may not, but most did. When I came to Europe a very long time ago, most people were farmers. When it was time to eat, before taking food, they would at least pray briefly, say some words to God, and only then begin their meal. Morning, midday, evening—always the whole family, women, men, and children. When they sat at the table to eat, they would pray, perhaps like this or like that. The family would gather, and all would pray together in one way or another. Some crossed themselves, some bowed. This is okay. Others wanted something different; they did something different. You know that mostly Christians and Muslims are very good people. In the morning, they pray like this. Their children also come and study their holy names. You know how it is with Christians and how it is with Muslims—everywhere it is good. For example, in Islam, children go in the morning to recite holy names. Yes, they have something on the head—a topi? Yes—and they are chanting. Then they have midday and evening prayers too. They still do this now. But many Christians—or different bodies we call them, our Jews, anyone—many people are not doing anything now. Maybe on some holidays, or those who go to pūjā in the church, but very few people do so now. We will all do something different, but not go to the church. We, and also Hindus, were also doing pūjā, but now it is very little. They will go anywhere, jumping, running, walking, but not going to the name of God. They go leaping about to various places, but they do not engage with God's name. And that is why many negative things are coming nowadays in these times. That is why there is so much negativity that meets us in this era. In this way, we should—all of us here—we should pray according to your religions, whether you are male or female. We should pray, truly. Then we know that God is with us. We know who Jesus is, and how he was fasting and suffering. But he said, "I will, I know." It doesn't matter what you do. I am for God. And also his mother, she is also. And now, always, we see the name of Jesus. But not very much, except on Christmas days, okay? So on certain days we go. The Indians, they are very spiritual, very, very much so, not eating alcohol and meat and many things. But now they are also turning to the other side, so they begin to eat meat and this and that. But more of our upcoming people, very, very much in America and in Europe, also in Australia, these are the people we call vegans. Because they went one day to see the cows, and there were a few people there. There, one cow was sitting down and had an animal baby, and then the cow stood up and the calf came out, and it was a boy, not a girl. So they brought the child down, out, the boy. And the people who were there working said, "It is a, what is that? Not a bull, but a little boy, a baby boy." And they said, "Now we will kill him because we will eat." And they killed him. And the mother cow was also very sad. If it is a baby, then they will leave it. So, very good people like you, they were like this, my God. A little baby, the mother is there, and they kill it. Then these people began to say that we will not kill and not eat any creatures which are killed. And they don't, you know, they don't want to take milk. And no other kind of anything, what we take from animals. And also fish, so everything, living animals. And also the other animals in the forest. And even those in the forest or anywhere, we get some sweet from bees. And so that began. These people, very, very much now, people they don't want to kill anybody and are not taking milk and this. It is animal's milk, it is from their mother; we should not take. But they have all vegetables and many things. They are also making milk from vegetables. Everything is very good. Here in this country, in this crazy circle, and go into the big city, how many people are there, even in the restaurants? So they are going, and they will definitely, 100%, when these people will go, then they will go directly to God. Nothing to do, anything because they laugh, and it is there. It was that, mostly, that all animals and all were killing and many different things. So they are killing and eating all different animals, and like this. So what we call jīv, jīv, bhakṣyate. Jīv means life. Jīv, jīv, all lives, all living animals. Jīv, jīv, animals, animals, life, life. Jīv, jīv, bhakṣate, means they are eating, killing. Then it was said, "This is not good." But it is said that we have done, we are doing animals. Then it is said, the human. So that was the Śiva. So then it comes the humans, and humans was the humans. But then again, there was a fighting, and now it is different, those who are really not killing and like. This, they will not kill. Also, humans to humans, yeah, we can fight. We will, maybe we are not too good to her or here or he, but a human, but not doing any killings. And so, everyone, they have in their heart. And everyone, they have according to their religions, and they are doing as it is. So eat good, good food, and also we should like good vegetables and everything. And we should know when and how much we should eat. Otherwise, eating all the time may not be good for our health also. As strong as we are, we should eat well, and then, after a length of time, again, not every time. There was a time here in these years, some years, and suddenly something happened. Everyone was on plastic, or what is it, chewing gum? The chewing gum. So, you know how much the chewing gum? Everyone, immediately. And they had many problems with this. Because then coming more other not good, and chewing did not good. Now, how many of you are here? You were chewing the chocolate? Okay, one, two, three, four, five, six. Okay, very good. And now, do you still, also, are you chewing? Is there any chewing? Because we know, you yourself, you know, this is really, it's not good for our body. And automatically, it's gone away. There is somewhere, but someone is chewing, that's it. So, how to get out of this chewing? If you want to get out, and you will be good, then you should have what we call the coconut. And this coconut, put a little in the mouth. Don't bite too much. Put it there, and good oil comes, and it's very nice on one side. And when it's enough, you think like this, and we can eat these coconuts. And when you have the feeling that you have had enough of it, you can eat the coconut. And coconut is really very healthy. When you drink that fresh coconut water, you will see how your health improves, truly. Very good. So in that way, many people came, so they did not do the other chewing up. So we have to do our health, how we do. And now we hear all here in the hall, many, many people full, and who is, how many is that? Very healthy and a little, like this, what do you call it? A little overweight, yeah. And some, they are, and some who are, they do not eat. Really, how we eat and exercise, like this, it is almost... we can go like this, why not? But you see, mostly, how many are there? All yogīs, very nice. And another thing is that by nature, they have a body that is a little stronger. So, that is okay. To be strong does not mean that it is not good. But we don't eat too much, and why this? And when this and when? And then, this is not good for the body. So, for example, in India, the people, how they are doing something. So, morning, Monday, Monday... so this is a day for Śiva. And on this day, we will not eat. Only after we will eat that certain, but morning only water, or when you see that I'm thirsty, then we'll take a little, one cup of glass, what is that, milk. But every once a day we are fasting, once a week. Yeah. Many, there are two times they are making. So many people don't want to eat and be too much. But when we say it, it is because of the spiritual, talking about God. So, in the name of God, we are doing this because of God. So there are so many days of the, which day one has, making many, many people, many, many people. But now, slowly, slowly, the people who have studied very much. And they have begun all this learning and everything, and medicines and everything, and many things. So they think, oh, this is nothing. The science, the scientists are very big, so they can do anything. But those are yogīs and gods and everything, this. There are still many, many... they also. So if there is one problem and we want to make ourselves better, how will our body come again? It is said, I told many times, when we wake up and we open our eyes, I told yesterday many times now. I open my eyes. Then you should do it really every day, and you will see that you will look very healthy, very good, and very good people and everything. So we are sleeping there, and we said, and we open our eyes. Maybe you are still lying down. Yes. So first, when we open our eyes, then tell, "I am human." Really, you can do many things; you will have. I am human. Other animals also open their eyes. And how they are doing, how they are going, that is other things. But how beautiful, and very simple, and very good: I am human. Our life will become very good, and friends and everything. I will not do bad things. So what is that? I am? I'm human. So tomorrow morning, you should tell me if you did or not. And really, your life will become great. And then, second, don't look at animals and this and that first. Mother, mother. So see our mother. Now, when mother is not there, she has died. We have two mothers. One is our physical mother. And second is our earth. Our earth is our mother. And what we are destroying now. And you know, there was such a water destruction. And so water is also becoming, like, not drinkable. Everything, what is everything? They are making and they were saying that only this seed works once a year. Next, again you have to get the seed because the other one will not go. And there we had our many, many things. Sometimes, very nice grass was like big and nice. Now it's only little. And today everything is low. And you will see in one day, when it is coming, all your forests, when they see that everything is grown up, then they put something, so it breaks. Do you know that? Yeah, they do it with sunflowers, for example. Completely black. So all it comes once and just seeds, nothing else. Spoiled. You will see definitely many, many. We are about 10 years or 15 years before; it was not like that. Ten or fifteen years ago it was not like that, but now you will definitely see it at harvest time. Mother, can I step on you? Matko, můžu na tebe stoupnout. This is Mother Earth. To je matka země. Then second, third? Water, water is life, which you say in your language. And we have also jal, jagadīś. Jal jagadīś. Jal means water, and jal and God, jagadīś. Water is God. Yeah, Jagadīś, Jal Jagadīś. Jal, Jagdish. Jal is water, and Jagdish is God. So we see that with our first, our water. Yes, and then we can go further to look for everybody. This was for the whole world, for all good humans, and how nice their people are. So in this way, if we can come back in the good way we are doing, I'm telling many times. And the water? Our water is not clean. When I came to this country, here, about 50, 55 years ago. Or more, even, and water was everywhere; we could drink it. Or we would sometimes just filter only that. And so many fruits and everything, all, but you're good things there. I was in this country at that time. Yeah, this one, what was this? All, no? The whole, everything, no? Europe. Yeah. And my car, I had my car, and I put my car somewhere in the forest. And we went for a long, long walk. It was open. And some people were also there, which was very nice, and they are going. Yeah, very nice. Nobody takes it away. I never saw anyone take my car, or anybody take this. And very nice car. What was the one? Yeah? What was it? Trabant. Trabant, no? Yes, my Trabant, I had here. And it still was there somewhere, but it was very good. Very good. Holī Gurujī was there, and he was also driving, sitting in this. Anyhow, why not? Very good. Anyhow, let's go further, please. So, we should live well. So, today or morning when you wake up, say, "I am human. My mother, my water, my father," etc. So, we practice in our base. What I am telling you is very simple. I am very simple, so it's very nice to see you today. So, with this, I will tell you tomorrow morning. Tell me, I was what? Yes, I'm human. Okay, and Water. And mother. Okay. Siddhipāda Bhagavān Sanātana Dharma Oṁ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ... Hari Oṁ.
