The teaching of a Guru is for ever

The supreme reality is Śiva, the primordial source beyond birth and form. All teachings and lineages flow from this singular truth. The Guru's call guides one beyond transient desires to that eternal source. Spiritual practice, like bhajan, aligns the individual with this reality. Misunderstandings and worldly attachments create separation, as illustrated by tales of prolonged silence between beings. True union comes from recognizing the shared essence within. In our ashram, we are all sisters, brothers, devotees (bhaktās), and knowers (jñānīs), along with our Gurudevs, Bhagavān, and the Alakhpurījīs. We have learned from Alakhpurījīs for about five or six years. I have books, though I forgot to bring them. I think it is very good for us if, from time to time, you learn and meditate on bhajan. We know, and I also know. What you still need, I also still need. But that is just like in the Himalayas. From the Himalayas, there are three—really, one is Alakhpurījī’s river, and Śāntī, and all these three are Alakhpurījī’s. Alakh Purījī is with Bhagavān Śiva, because all that we have learned and we know is that Bhagavān Śiva—we know many saints, many gurus, or whatever it is—but Bhagavān Śiva was not born; he has no mother, no father.
