A Devotional Offering: Invocations, Guru Stotram, and Bhajan
The essence of devotion is surrender to the Guru, the embodiment of supreme consciousness.
All glory to the supreme Guru, who is Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshvara, the visible supreme Brahman. Salutations to that Guru. Take shelter at the Guru’s feet. His darshan is true wealth, a mass of consciousness and bliss. Lord Shesha and Mahesha serve him. Keep the devotee in your refuge. Offer body, mind, and wealth. The sages remember the avatars, the Vedas cannot fathom the Guru. What effort can be made? The Self is not mind, intellect, ego, or memory. The doer is the Lord alone. There is no dharma, artha, kama, moksha; no merit, pleasure, pain; no mantra, pilgrimage. Pure consciousness does not arise by effort; have compassion, bestow grace. The highest salutation. The Guru’s darshan is the essence of crossing existence. Victory to the Satguru, the truth, and to the eternal Sanatana Dharma.
“Gurur Brahmā Gurur Viṣṇu, Gurur Devo Maheśvaraḥ; Guruḥ sākṣāt Parabrahma, tasmai Śrī Gurave namaḥ.”
“Na puṇyaṃ na saukhyaṃ na duḥkham, na mantro na tīrthaḥ.”
