The Miraculous Heart

The heart is the constant source of life and warmth for the entire body, sustained by prāṇa. The navel is the vital point of origin for the individual self, the ātmā. All spiritual practice converges in the heart. One must be careful and maintain good practices, as illustrated in the story where Rāvaṇa was defeated only when struck at his navel. Spiritual development requires sustained practice over time, not a quick acquisition. Feel the warmth from the heart and the cleansing coolness from the hand, focusing attention on the heart and then the navel.

"Everything comes from the heart—warmth from here to the whole body."

"And when it went to the navel, he died."

Our heart is very big and very good. Many different parts of the body we can hold or do something with, but the heart is constant. You know, when you go into the water, even deep water, the heart is all the time like this. Whether we are running, working, or sleeping, we don't know, but in our heart, everything is there. This comes from going a far distance, very far. It is said that when our heart is gone, then it is ariyo. But if something like this happens, doctors will still say there is a heart. So we should take very good care of our heart. Our heart, if we see this side, is different, but everything comes from the heart—warmth from here to the whole body. But it is that prāṇa. You know that word prāṇa? Prāṇa means life, and this life means that we are life; we are living in that way. So from that, after comes from the navel. There are two points. The one point is that it is the ātmā, God, or you; your body, you are. And when this goes, it is gone. And it comes from this navel. So, from that, Śiva, jīva. So, there is one part, but another one is in our navel. A navel is when it first came in the mother’s body. The father, he just ripped it and it was gone. But the mother, she knows that in the abhiras, and day by day. Then she knows it, from the first day already. The mother is coming immediately, quickly. Not that, okay. Then comes this, or this, or here. It is like when the air goes. So if you are all here, then you are in for all that we have said. And our sādhanā, bhakti, jñāna, etc., all of it is coming into our heart and also the heart. Head. So this head, but his head will come very late. Yeah, it’s very late. But it comes; first it comes from there to this, to there and there to here. Others, there are hands and legs, and this is, of course, this. Everything is created by God in this. Many things, if there are some problems and some people are not doing this properly, sometimes their body is not good and a child dies or something happens. This is everything we know; we need not tell about this. So, you know that there was once Bhagavān Śiva, Brahmā, and Viṣṇu. Viṣṇu was that, and his wife, who had taken someone from somewhere, this woman. So, he took the lady, she took it, Rāvaṇa. And so, Ramana, and the whole everything is that which happened to happen. Many times they were fighting. Whenever they were trying to kill him, or even Rāma, Rāma was trying, and he cuts his head, it is cut, and again it becomes okay. And so then Rāvaṇa’s brother, he was there and he said to Rāma, "Now, at this time, this is it; otherwise, you will not remain anymore. We will, what we’ll do to Rāma? Then how to do?" Then it was said, said to him, "Where?" "On the navel." And when it went to the navel, he died. So this is written in the books, you know. And so at this point, we have to be very careful, very good in everything, and good eating. Take care of that, how it will come, this side or that side. And therefore, the exercises that I did today were always coming to that point. So, we will practice more. We are doing. You see, there’s somebody. People said, "Okay, give me this and this. Okay, thank you, I go." It will not go like this. When the child comes into the mother’s body, it will not get, now the child is here, let’s go. It takes nine years, months, months, yeah? So very much like this. Like that, we should practice our yoga. And not only are they doing yoga now, they are teaching something, and they make many things, and people are coming for many days. Nothing, there is nothing. It is something; there is a tree, and in the tree there are fruits, but nothing is fruit. Purījī, Purījī... Not only do we have our gurus—Mahāprabhujī, Devpurījī, Madhavānanjī, Alakhpurījī, etc.—but you and I, we are together. Always, I always, always I think very much, think very much about what it is, how my ātmā is, how it is, I am holding. Purījī, Purījī... So, in this warmth which is in your body, on this, it is life, and many which are in the heart somewhere, it will be very cleaned with your one hand. Warm of this and clean and very cool, this is both together. Warm is from the heart, and nice, clean is from the hand, both together. So we should do five minutes, not very much, and then hand down and feel your whole body. And once more, very relaxed and good, 25, only 25 feelings on our body, on the heart. When it was enough, we spoke only five words in the heart. And now, place your hand down. Now, on our stomach here, down at the nābhi, everything happens in the nābhi. It came from, and it will go from, and relax. Thank you. Hari Om.
