Webcast from Blue Mountains, Australia (2/28)

Welcome to this retreat in a pure, natural setting. The program offers three paths: a Kriyā group for initiated vegetarians, a general Yoga and Daily Life program with mantra initiation, and a youth program. This time is for inner inquiry, not for gossip or criticism. Withdraw within and project your inner self onto nature's beauty. Reflect on what brought happiness or conflict in your life. Ask the fundamental questions: Who am I? What is my purpose? Where will I go? Only you can answer these. The past is gone; begin now to clear your future path. Life is affected by three fires: disturbances from creatures, personal afflictions, and unseen astral influences. The mantra purifies the mind, bringing order and clarity. A clean outer environment reflects a purified inner self. A true guest arrives unexpectedly; your inner state is always visible. Purification leads to unmovable happiness and the realization of the universal Self.

"Find out what was the cause of your negative days: anger, hate, jealousy, fear, conflicts."

"Through practicing of this mantra... It cleans you. You feel very relaxed and fresh and clear."

All dear Bhaktas here in our Yoga and Daily Life Ashram, Dungong, welcome you all. Also, I would like to welcome all our international devotees and practitioners of Yoga and Daily Life, practicing the spiritual paths, different spiritual seekers. This blessing is coming to you today, especially from the beautiful country Australia. We are here somewhere, it’s called the Blue Mountain hills. People call these hills Hunter Valley, but it is a part of the range of mountains called the Blue Mountains. We are here in the forest, about two and a half hours’ drive from Sydney, it is surrounded by beautiful trees. Thousands of hectares of the national park are connected to our ashram property. This ashram property is also nearly seven to eight hundred hectares. So, all the hills you see, it’s from Yoga and Daily Life, it means. Belongs to all of you. It’s a pollution-free spot, very pure, clean air, peaceful atmosphere. Untouched nature, or you may call it virgin nature, hundreds of different birds, and millions of cicadas, like a cricket. Constantly, they play concerts. From early morning, when the dawn rises, they wake up with a nice alarm, and they say, "Good night," after the sunset. This is the first time that in Australia I’m going to have a retreat, a seminar with very special techniques, so we will have three different groups. One is called the Kriyā Anuṣṭhān group, that only can be attended by those who have had a mantra for more than three years and have got a Kriyā or are going to get a Kriyā. The condition is that one is vegetarian, not consuming any alcohol nor any narcotics. For them, it will be a very beautiful divine Kriyā Anuṣṭhāna. It’s a very unique experience. The second will be a program called "Yoga and Daily Life: Mantra Anuṣṭhāna with Āsanas, Prāṇāyāmas, Relaxations, and Meditations." That means that you come to know, learn what Yoga and Daily Life means, how to practice, how to find the peace within thyself, how to find the inner path which should lead to our ultimate destination, self-realization. Also, there will be mantra initiation, and I will speak next time. It means after three days. What does it mean to practice mantra? Why should one have a mantra? And what exactly does mantra do for us? And the third, beautiful, best of the best, the cream of the cream program will be for our future organizers of Yoga and Daily Life, the juniors, children. They will have a beautiful yoga program. They will have a very nice time. They will enjoy nature. And it will be good for their next school year, for their concentration and for their relaxation. It’s very important that children learn and come to know what is the sense of life and motivation to study, to love the parents, love the society, love the multi-culture, and grow with tolerance and respect towards all. And to develop love for nature. Programs will continue for the juniors, and all juniors are most welcome, except that one which is still two months old or one month old. Our program will be finalized tomorrow evening. Today’s is only free information you should know. For what you came here, you know that you spend it, your most beautiful holidays, very precious holidays. Maybe you came alone, and your some family members are at home, but for you, does it doesn’t? Means something. What means to come to Yoga and Daily Life here in Dungong? Therefore, do not forget your aim for what you came here. You didn’t come here to criticize others. You didn’t come here to observe what others are doing, you didn’t come here just for gossiping, and you didn’t come here to disturb others with your lot of talk and laughter. So withdraw thyself within thy inner world, and project thy inner self into this outer world, the beauty of nature, and think, "What is the sense of life?" What you have been doing till today in your life, and what you are going to do next? How many happy days, months, or years have you had in this life? And how many minutes, hours, months, days, and years have you had with the conflicts? Jealousy, greediness, loneliness, lost in doubts, conflicts, anger, hate, and so on. Find out, in this period of time you will be here, what was the reason that in my past life, this life, in the past years, I was very happy, very relaxed, very concentrated, a loving person, everyone loved me, I was very happy, my parents and friends. What made me so happy last time? At the same time, find out what was the cause of your negative days, which, I repeat, I said before: anger, hate, jealousy, fear, conflicts, and so on. Only you can know, only you can diagnose your inner feelings. And the third observation of the point should be that you are asking yourself, "What is now?" Now, what should be the rest of my life? Which direction am I going? Am I going in that direction which always made me happy, content, relaxed, with healthy thoughts, peace, and harmony? How to continue? What does it mean for me to be born as a human? What is the difference between my life and the life of humans, or other creatures? From where did I come in this life? And what is the purpose of coming as a human? Am I doing the same thing for which I came, or am I doing something different? And ultimately, where will I go? Ko’ham? Katham? Idam? Jātam? Who am I? From where do I come? What is the purpose of my coming? And where will I go, or it will lead? Do I believe in God? Do I believe in the nature? Do I believe in love? Do I believe in myself? Am I on the right path? So these are the questions which you have to answer yourself. No one can answer you this question, because it’s very personal to you, and you will find a very beautiful solution, and you will be very happy. So, this retreat here will be beautiful, and I hope that you will feel comfortable, healthy, and happy, as you know all Australians are, sitting mostly, you know, the Australian nature, you know the Australian different creatures, and you know that you are not sleeping in a five-star hotel here, but you are sleeping in a multi-star hotel, you can count how many stars you have. Here, billions of stars, and therefore, to enjoy this multi-star hotel, we have to renounce something. And so, you are here in the tent, you are sleeping in the tents. Tents are an imitation of the huts. Ancient time yogīs and what we call the ṛṣis. Rishis means hermits, and hermits were those who were living in huts in the forest, enduring different weather situations: hot, cold, windy, rainy, dry, wet, and different cultures. Of course, they were protecting themselves from all these disturbances and enjoying the beauty of nature. It’s called, there are three tapas, the three kinds of fires, and these three fires which disrupt us constantly. And these three fires are connected with our destiny. Destiny is a result, or the fruits, or the outcome of our actions, karma. Whatever we do, it comes back. Every action has a reaction, and every reaction will have an action. So action, reaction, action, we do not know if we came into this world to take a reaction or to take action. What we call in some people’s karma or in their destiny, the fire of revenge is so strongly burning that the blood is boiling in the fire of revenge towards others. Maybe due to the wars, some kind of discrimination, maybe religious conflicts, the cultural conflicts, nationality conflicts, individually or maybe generally. Therefore, it is like this: we should purify our inner self, our inner consciousness, to know what exists in me as a vibration or destiny. There is no way out. We are in a traffic circle. There is no way out. We are moving round and round and round. Only there is a way out if we would like to step out, meaning forgiveness, reconciliation. We have to make a step first towards it, and we have to accept that it was out of our ignorance. Otherwise, this cycle of birth and death will continue. Thanks to God that we don’t know how our past lives were, which kind of life we had, which kind of form of life we had, how many pains we had to endure, what was the cause of our death, illness, or being murdered or killed by others. Animals, accidents, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, and so on and so on. And thanks to God that we don’t remember. If we remember, we will be very sad and we’ll be in depression. So whatever it was, it was. It’s past. So yoga is one thing that the yogī tells: do not waste your time thinking in the past; begin where you are now to clear up your future path. The past is past, the future is not here; we are in the present, and this present time will be the future. So whatever we do now, that will help us to come forward. So these three tapas, three different kinds of fires, are individually affecting. That’s called Ādhibhautik, Ādhidaivik, Ādhyātmik. The disturbances from other creatures, including mosquitoes, spiders, scorpions, snakes, and many others, also humans. Then the illnesses, mental illness, physical illness, many disturbances, emotional, intellectual, social, political, economical. And the third, from the astral energy, from the astral world, which we don’t know, we can’t see, but it does influence us. And every individual feels different and has different feelings and visions. For example, we all sleep here in our tents, but everyone has a different dream. It hardly happens that in this night everyone will have the same dream, because the dream is the reality of our past, present, and future indication, our emotional, intellectual, social, political, and so on, our difficulties or happiness. So these three tapas, Ādhibhautik, Ādhidaivik, and Ādhyātmik, these three tapas are very strong. To become free from these three tapas, Holy Gurujī has written a very beautiful bhajan and this mantra. This is one of the best mantras: "Om Prabhu Dīpa Nirañjana Sabhā Dukha Bhañjana." Om is the origin of the universe. Prabhu is the protector who manifests on this planet or incarnates as an incarnation. Nirañjana means pure, spotless, crystal clear. Sabhā means all. Dukha, troubles, any kind of unpleasant thing, pain, unhappiness, depressions, and so on, all that is negative or disturbs us. Bhañjana means to remove, to free, to purify, to clear. It is "Om Prabhu Dīpa Nirañjana, sabhā duḥkha bhañjana." Sabhā means all, duḥkha means troubles, bhañjana means to remove. So, in this bhajan, which I will translate next week, it is said in this bhajan: Dīpa Nirañjana, Sabhā Dukha Bhañjana Prabhu, Dīpa Nirañjana. Isī Mantra Se Hove Mana Mañjana, Isī Mantra Se Hove Mana Mañjana, Prabhu Dīpa Nirañjana. Through practicing of this mantra. How many mañjana? Man means mind, mañjana means purifying. It cleans you. You feel very relaxed and fresh and clear, like in the morning you get up and you brush your teeth. After, you feel very fresh and good. You nicely wash your dress, your laundry, and then you have, oh, good smell. Every day you make your flat tidy and clean. There are some people who come home, one sock is thrown there, the second is there, one shirt is lying there, jeans there, this, and poor wife, she has to come home and again collect and wash everything. This is not that man or woman; he or she is throwing things here and there. That is a picture of their inner self. That inner self, there is nothing in order. And if someone comes and puts the things where they belong, then, even your flat or your house is beautiful, clean, harmonious. You feel something good. Anytime guests can come, you welcome them. And the guest will say, "Wow, everything is so clean and nice." But if you invite a guest, then for three days you are cleaning your flat, and this and that, and putting things behind some furniture, just to show how clean and how organized you are. So think that a guest can come any time. We call it atithi devo bhava. Ātīti in Sanskrit. Atithi means the day is not sure, day is not sure, time is not fixed. That is a guest, a tīṭhī. That is a real guest. They will power it. It is, in a way, does it open each other? A tīṭhī, they will power. Guests are God, or princes are many thousands of years old, many, many thousands. And now we know around the whole world, nearly in every culture, there is a guest is God. But those who telephone you that I’m coming, you invite someone to come, they telephone you, they write you a letter, and now we have SMS, and now we have mobile telephone. "I’m already in the railway station, please, can you come and face me?" That’s not a guest, that’s a visitor. And a visitor is one who is visiting you; you are just inviting. But a guest is someone who suddenly comes to your door and rings the bell or knocks on the door. Who is there? Oh, beautiful, welcome. That’s a guest. And that guest comes and first looks at you and then looks at your whole flat. Oh, beautiful flat. But inside it says, "Oh God, he is lying." Shoes are one, and there is one sock. There’s one trouser, and there’s a half-bread eaten with the jam and butter from yesterday, and these are still lying there, dried or everything on. It is, and I guess, please sit down. Moment, moment, I move this. Some very... a screwdriver is lying somewhere. Is this so? This means it is an inner picture of the person who is living in that house or the flat. Therefore, to keep everything nicely clean, everything has its place. You should know there is a place for the shoes. Many people, they just go sleeping with the shoes. Many, they don’t take off shoes for a few days, and socks also not. Washing, of course, has no time. So, whenever they come and open their shoes, take them off, the socks have a beautiful smell of spoiled fish or spoiled cheese. If you tell them, "Please take off your shoes and come in," wherever they step, many days you can smell where they were stepping. And that is an inner impurity. That is an inner nature; the person is not capable of doing it. So mañjana means clean. And when everything is clean, it’s nice. We said, when everything is in order, it’s a one-way street, a highway. Yeah, many Germans and Austrians are looking at our webcast, and I would like to say to them a very nice good morning, and from here, good evening. Don’t think that you have called weather and snow. So we also look, I have one jacket, and then a second jacket, and then a third and fourth. So don’t feel disappointed that you are called. We also have beautiful, cool, and nice. So, good morning and much love to everyone. So, therefore, when our mind is purified, then you feel inner smell, inner things. So dīpa, nirañjana... Avical Sukha Pāve Paramānandan. Avical Paramānandan Śrī Dīpa Nirañjana Sabaduka Prabhu, Isī mantra sī hove mana mañjana, isī hove mana mañjana, Prabhu dīpa nirañjana sabaduka. So, I only want to have these words of the mantra in the bhajan. Tinoī means all these three. Tinoī tāpa, these three fires. Because they are from certain sins which we made in our life. We are freed from this sin. Avichal means unmovable, unchangeable, everlasting. Avichal is sukha. Sukha means, again, happiness. When the dukha, unhappiness, is gone, then happiness is there. So, avichala sukha pāvay, realizing, getting brahmānandam. The brahmānandam, brahma means the universal one, not a creator, not a Brahmā, but Brahman. Avichala sukha pāvay, brahmānandam. That is the everlasting, universal Brahman, which has no form and no other names. But it is omniscient and omnipresent, and we are a part of that universal one, Ātmā. So it means it gives the realization of the Ātmā. And so these three tapas become active when you are sitting here in the forest, and you see how things are happening, what your thoughts are, and so on. Sorry, so anyhow, those who arrived today, I welcome you, and tomorrow we will begin our program and lecture at five o’clock or six o’clock, sorry, at the same time and same space. So before sunset, put a build-up or put up your tents. Wish you a very good evening and a very good, pleasant night. God bless you, and happy to see you.
