The wisdom of the bhajans

The essence of a bhajan is understood by learning the meaning of each word. Singing is beautiful, but true value comes from comprehension. The bhajan describes the Guru bestowing the herb of immortality, filling the devotee's being. This gift brings supreme happiness and liberation from the cycle of birth and death. It is a great fortune to meet the Guru, for without this grace one is lost. The devotee is freed from attachments and becomes realized. One should always remain at the Satguru's luminous feet.

"Gurujī Merā, my Gurū Dev. He gave me the Amara, which means the immortality."

"I was delivered from the wheel of birth and death."

He layā dī a lūm erā. He layā dī a lūm a garī. Dhanyā bhāg hama me śiṣa nirvāya. Dhanya garī dhanya bhāg, hama hara śaraṇa me śiṣa nirvāya. Sattva gurū jarī layā, kurūjī merā amara jarī lehā. Dayālu ve jarī lehā, yā sattva sayā aloka kī sobhrā hitarā sayā. This is the way of life, this is the way of life, this is the way of life, this is the way of life, this is the way of life, this is the way of life. Nā hī kāśa na bhaiyā, bham bham dhāka senī āyā. Gurujī merā amara tarī le āyā, dayālu merā hī le āyā. Satguru sāyā Śrī Devapurī Īśa. Rata sadā niradaya satt gurū sāyā śrī deva purī īśa. Radhā sadā niradaya Nidip sattva. Ram Nidip sattva Rasāvaya. Gurujī merām manacharī Dehe āyā. Dayālu merām charī Dharamhe dharamhe. Jīva jīvāya Gurujī, merām̐ dehe āyā. We can make tea for all, thank you very much. Very good, but we are hungry, hungry... etc. So, all bhajans we have, in these bhajans singing. Yeah, but 20%, maybe 14%. It is very good, beautiful bhajans are. Very good, but it is real because some people can understand, and many others, they like something is something, but we don’t know the words about this. It is Indian language, and other is here German or Hungarian or Christian. Etc., etc., of course. So, if we can now begin to learn somehow, it will be very good. So, who is the singer? Who is the singer? And the singer should give each word. What is that? And we will be very great, and we will do it. It’s great. So when we sing, the whole singer should tell what is that, this bhajan, each word. Then it will be very great for all of us, very great, very great. It is very nice. The bhajans are from Mā Prabhujī, and our Swāmī Madhavānandjī has made all these bhajans very great. Devpurījī, Mahāprabhujī said, and it was that Madhavānanda Jī, when he was sitting, was very great. And you know that our Mahāprabhujī, he will just sit and give one bhajan. He immediately, when he said one bhajan, knew everything. That is that. If I will think today and tomorrow again, and this, what is that and that and this, this or ding ding or ding ding or dun dun. Yes, I can, I will do like this, dum dum, dum dum, baba. But Holy Gurujī just makes this bhajan so great. And that we should learn ourselves like this. And that we should learn. You have learned very much. You hear everybody very good, like this. But what? What is that? So, we shall sing the whole bhajan and then tell what it means. Then all will be very happy, very great. Do you think? Then we will be very great in this way. Yes? Yes? Say? In German or English? Yes? German or English? Yes? In German. This is a bhajan which I personally love very much, because Mahāprabhujī compares the remedy which he gives us with the Sanjīvanī, the plants of immortality, and in the refrain at the beginning he says, "Gurujī Merā," my Gurū Dev. He gave me the Amara, which means the Unsterblichkeit, immortality. Thank you. He came first to give me these herbs, so to speak, the immortality. Guru Dev came to bring me the plants of immortality, and he, he, he... He he... He he... He he... He he... and he came in the form of an avatar, and because of the Dharma, he, Mūrtikā, must be dead. He transformed the death to life again. This is a refrain. And then it goes on in the first stanza: "Glücklich ist diese Zeit und Wonderful is this time, and it is a great happiness that we can bow down to Charano about his lotus feet. This is a big opportunity we have, and the Satta Guru gave me these herbs to drink, and every pore of my body was filled with them. And Satta Guru gave me these healing plants to drink, and each pore of my body was filled with them. The next stanza is: He showed me the whole universe is inside of me. And these plants of immortality gave me a new life and immortality. And it brought me this happiness, brought me big happiness. Ohne Glück kannst du keinen Darśan haben. Next job is without happiness, so it’s without luck. Luck, danke, can’t you? You cannot have a darśan, so it’s a very big luck that you met your Gurudev. Otherwise, you will be lost in the world. And then Mahāprabhujī said, senir bandhana? Und das verdankt er Śrī Devpurījī, das kommt in der nächsten Strophe. So the third strophe is, "I was delivered from the wheel of birth and death." And all my life, I became free. He saved me from the bandages, which I had, the near bandhan, the not attachment. I was attached, and he brought me to the non-attachment, a big he gave me. And I was then Jīvan Mukta in life. I become realization, and I came out of the circle of birth and death. And in the last verse, Mahāprabhujī tells us, this teaches us, the Satguru Śrīdev Purījī Swāmī. Deep is always at the feet of the Satguru, whose view and dignity always rise. Satguru Sāhib Śrī Devapurījī, Rata Sādhanīradāra Śrī Devapurījī, Satguru Śrī Devapurī, teach me this and gave me a realization. Swāmī Deep. He says, "I am always at the feet of the Satguru, and he is shining, and his dignity is always increasing more and more." It’s good.
