Phulpuriji becomes Mahamandaleshwar

The teaching concerns the spiritual legacy of Ādiśvara and the Daśanāmī Akhāṛā.

Ādiśvara’s responsibility is to purify through Karma. Kailash Purījī performed penance and brought Śaṅkara’s influence to Rajasthan. The one who overcomes sorrow attains nirvāṇa. Kapila destroyed Sagara’s sixty thousand sons to protect dharma. The Darśanāmī Akhāṛā provided standing for the tradition in Kāśī and Mathurā. Without it, the community would have been crushed. The Śaṅkarī tradition upholds Varṇāśrama, with Śaṅkarācārya as protector. Devotion belongs to the organization, not to a bad reputation. Sanātana Dharma is the great tree; other sects are branches, leaves, flowers, and fruits. The Aumkār Mandir is established as a spiritual center. Saints carry hidden problems like thorns behind a rose, yet they smile. The Guru’s mantra is Nāda, awakening the disciple. The legacy continues through teacher and disciple. Kapila’s third eye annihilated those who insulted him. The Akhāṛā’s strength comes from the great deeds of its Mahant. Rajasthan remains a land of Śakti and Bhakti under divine protection.

"The one who overcomes sorrow attains nirvāṇa."

"Sanātana Dharma is a great protection, and all other sects of Dharma are its branches, leaves, flowers, fruits."

Kailash Purījī, Kailash Purījī… Kailash has done penance, and the influence of Bhagavān Śaṅkara—the proofs—he has incorporated them in himself and has purified this realm of Rajasthan through the teaching of Karma. Now the question arises: how will you go further into nirvāṇa? So I have given below: Viśokāśokanāśana. The one who overcomes sorrow attains nirvāṇa. And here and there is Lord Śiva. In the middle is our Supreme Guru, Kapila Bhagavān Mahāmuni. Mahāprabhujī Karatā Mahāprabhujī Karatā… He kevalam kari kāla kuṭhāra liyāī bhīrta, kari kāla kuṭhāra liyāī bhīrta… Kapila Bhagavān has given us the power. There were sixty thousand sons of the sea. Indra deceived them at the ocean of Gaṅgā. Indra saw that they were performing Aśvamedha, and he was certain that they would become the lords of Darśa, Poṇḍ, Maśa, Bhyāma, Svarga, and Kāmya, and so he deceived them. The horse of Swāmījī was tied to the tree near the place of Lord Kapila’s penance, so that the children of Sagara would think that the Mahārāja had stolen the horse. So they came there, and just as Parīkṣit threatened the sage by placing a dead snake around his neck, in the same way they wanted to insult our Gurudeva. So when he opened his third eye, the sixty thousand sons of the sage were destroyed on the spot. At times, within our Akhāṛā, there has been war between religious and non‑religious groups. And in order to win that war, at the Gaṅgā Sea, our Śaṅkarī tradition, Vṛṣṇāmī, our Śrī Mahant Mahant—all of them worshipped Bhagavān there, and from there Bhagavān gave divine influence, like Devī Bhārata, in our Rajasthan, the country of Śakti and Bhakti. The Rajputs and Thevals did not fight with the body, did not fight with weapons, and they had a grace upon their heads from our local gods—like our Gandhasinghī, she had great grace upon her. And just like that, Jīūdhā Jī Mahārāja, Mahārāja… Mahārāja Nām Diyāna, and Kapīla Bhūrvana, who provided us with our mediums, have given us the power to stand again in society. The same society, the society of the Darśanāmī Śaṅkarī tradition, the Akhāṛā society. Today we owe it to this worthy Akhāṛā that wherever we are standing, the Akhāṛā has given us a place to stand. Otherwise, we all would have been crushed, and neither we could have stood in Kāśī, nor in Mathurā, nor anywhere else. But if we have been able to stand there, it is due to the great deeds and influence of our great men of the Darśanāmī Akhāṛā. See one thing, Nāgur is close to us. Mahārāja, Nāgur was the king of Nāgas, he was the king of Nāgas, the king of Daśnāmī Nāgas, hence his name is Nāgur. He was the king of Nāgas. And even today, in Rajasthan, yatra, tatra, sarvatra, our Darśanāmī Mahant, and the kings of the state are called Thākur, and their masters are called our Akhāṛā, which is destined to keep this tradition alive even today. My connection with Mahārāṣṭrī has been since 1980; today, it has been forty-two years. I was staying in the hills of Jaipur at that time. I had darśana of Mahārāja Jī’s Gurudeva, and then I also took Mahārāja Jī to Mevās Āsthāna. Baḍe Hanumāna ke Ghāṭ ke, Hanumāna ke pāsī āsthāna hai. So for Mahārāja Jī that place was close; just as this Jadan, this Mahārāja Śrī, like our many, many ṛṣis, Chandramā made a wish for Lord Śaṅkara’s penance. In the same way, Dakṣa improved his penance, so Dakṣa Bandhikara was established. This is how our Mahāpuruṣas have performed the Oṃ Āśrama in Jadan, which is not less than any Jyotirmahima and not less than any Cārpūrīyama. If you come here, you will receive the Oṃ Āśrama. Mahārāja Jī, when I narrated the story of Jagat Prashit, Dongre Jī, Kurukṣetra, Mahārāja Jī came at that time. So, at that time, the person who was my leader, Gulzarilal Nanda, was the president; Gaṇeśa Nandī was the vice‑president; and I was the secretary. At that time, what happened in the story of Dungarījī? In that story, what happened was Dungarījī’s marriage. On the fifth day, he said, “Mahārāja, I have put you in a lot of trouble.” In Gujarati, one says, “I have put you in a lot of trouble.” I gave him a sheet of paper and said, “What can you give? What can I give in alms?” He replied, “What can I give? I have studied in your college; I have studied in your āśrama, Śrī Gaṇeśa. Today, you are performing the penance of my life; what can I give?” I told them that our Śaṅkarī tradition is worship of the Varṇāśrama system. Ācārya Śaṅkara has been the protector of that system. And as for our useless talks—some are organizing Jñāna Śivira, some are organizing Yoga Śivira. Oh Bābā, you are a member of the Gṛhastha Śivira, not a member of the Yoga Śivira. That is why the first Gṛhasthāśrama that is followed is that of Bhagavadpāda Śaṅkarācārya. I taught the Bhagavad Gītā to Bhūjarāṭa. There are many Kathākāras; Bāpu is filled with souls. There is nothing. After saying all these things, I go home. So I said, “Mahārāja, this is my alms. You began your life with your grandfather; today, you are in the life of your grandson. Will you give alms?” And gentlemen, at that time in Gujarat I had been for a long time; I was the chief of Jamshedpur Tata in Gujarat at that time. Here were the party of Dhīrubhāī Ambanī and many people like Chaturvujidāsa, Kṛṣṇadāsa, Nipawasa. Everyone said, “You are very egoistical, Mahārāja. You have bought it, and this happens in Sannyāsa, which is in the form of Śukadeva.” I said that you do not have any issue; this is the matter between Mahārāja and me. And then he said, “Do not call Mahārājīt in front of me; he insults me.” He added, “This is not your matter. You cannot come when he comes.” He had a few satsaṅgas, and I am married today. Today, with the blessings of this tradition, Ānanda Chetanajī knows the background of my Śrī Pañcāyati Akhāṛā Mahānirvāṇī; he is with us. Parakhara jo hamāre sāth the Girdhara Nārāyaṇa Purījī Mahārāja hai, unakī chatrachāyā meṃ hum dono ne adhyayana kiyā hai. Unakī prasāda se, unakī chāya se, unakī makhana se, unakī roṭī se, unakī rāya purī se, hamane dīvad para āyā hai. And there is one more thing: when I was admitted in Ahmedabad as a Phulpurīkhī, at that time he had come from the Rāmakṛṣṇa Mission; he was sick. He said, “Mahārāja, take me to Ahmedabad. Even if my dead body comes from there, I want to carry him on my back.” We planned to go to Delhi for the ambulance. We arranged two ambulances in Ahmedabad. We told the Gurujī about the nourishment of this tradition. You have been among sannyāsīs, some among bairāgīs, some in vāpū tāpū; you have to take sannyāsa. There was a lot of opposition, but when he was going to Naviśaraṇa, he fell sick. Delhi started treating him. He told his brother Prabhakara, “Bhāī Śrī, merā śarīra jo hai, vo le chalo Santarāma Āśrama Naḍiyāda. Jaise parama siddha karaṇa koṭi ke Santa Kabīra jo hai, tavā se paidā hue, tavā meṃ kamala svarūpa ho gaye the. Isī prakāra se hamāre Santarāma Āśrama ke Santarāma Jī Mahārāja jyoti svarūpa ho gaye the.” Kṛṣṇa Govinda Gopāla gāte chalo, jyoti se jyoti jalāte chalo, milāte jāūm̐—this was his principle. So Mahārāja Jī, at the end, sent his body there, and for twenty to twenty‑five days he practiced Sannyāsī Āśrama according to the tradition. In Kali Kāla, Mekṣa Mūlar wrote in his memory that the place of the sun, which is in the solar system, is the very same place in the solar system. Bhagavadpāda Śaṅkarācārya Jī kā hai vārdhā meṃ, in vārdhā meṃ, in vārdhā meṃ—and we are very proud that our Viśvaguru Maheśvarānanda Jī is our representative. Bhagavadpāda Śaṅkarācārya Jī kī us abhidhā ko aura Mekṣa Mūla kī us bhāvanā ko, hamāre Daśanāma Samāja se prasārita-pracārita kara rahe haiṃ. Phūlpurī Jī ne bahuta sevā kī hai. In Punjab, there was a jījā and a sālā of a Sardar. One day, both of them met. Both of them had beards. Both of them were sitting in Jalyāna, discussing. “Sardār Jī, jījā, if both of our beards get burnt, then who will be worshipped first?” The sālā said, “First, we will be worshipped.” Purījī, Purījī… Śatruṃ bāḍhā ke śyāma, arjuna raṅka ko bhaṅga, bāṅdhī kare bhagavāna. Are, hiraṇa bāḍā hotā hai ki śera bāḍā hotā hai? So arjuna, chalo paro. Nakula kī bāta ne mātā ho jyotiṣa ke, chalo paro. Aura chalo parane ke bāda ne śyāma bāḍhī karege. Āpake śera para to śyāma baiṭhe hai, śānti śyāma baiṭhe hai. To hamane bhī yahī bicāra kiyā, ki vo jo kārya the Mahārāja Jī ke amare vo gāṁva the. Part 2: A Discourse on Devotion, Service, and the Eternal Path But for so many years, for at least twenty to twenty-five years, this child has been serving us. Keep one thing in mind: when I was traveling for five years, I was in Rajasthan, then I flew to Amur. From Amur, I went to Jawarja. In Jawarja, a Vaiṣṇava welcomed me, and the Vaiṣṇava offered tea in the temple, and then samyāva. I have said it many times: samyāva. That saint was with me, and we had a big party. When I went to that party, a feeling arose in my mind. And that feeling came, that the yogī of the house is the chief of the village. Today I have come to Madhāveśvar, people are dancing and playing drums. But before my respects, I respect this saint who has spent thirty-five years of his life and youth in this village. If there is any Guru or brother who has been appointed after him, then it is Viśokānand and Viśvadevānand. I am not fooling them all. My friend in Suratgiri Bangla said, "Hey, you say, ‘My brother, my brother...’" Today is the birthday of Śrī Caitanya Purījī, and there is a veneration of 50,000, 50,000, 60,000, 60,000. Brother, brother, we were chatting from the back, and when he left, he said, "I will take you with me." He was sitting in the front seat, and one thing: when we were chatting and laughing, how do we laugh? Dogs bark, and when we came at that time, he said from the car, "Viśoka, I will go. Come, sit behind." At that time, I was a brother to you, and when my Gurudev, Gurujī, said, "I want to make you Ācāryas," that day I said, "Gurudev, my elder Guru brother is here. I will try to make him an Ācārya." Mahārāj said, Gurujī, Kaliyuga. I am hearing such things about Satyayuga, about Bhārata, about the Pāṇḍavas. I said, at your feet there is always Satyayuga for us. There is no meaning of Kaliyuga for us. Our Tulasīdāsajī has said: "Kāla dharma naibhya bahitahī, Raghupati caraṇa prīti bhati jāī." And see what happened: it seemed as if the two brothers had a very big plan. For twenty-eight years, they ruled on this Nirmala Pīṭha, did their duties, gave blessings, and gave a strong pīṭha to North India. Śrī Yantra Diyā aur Ek Viśva Kalyāṇ Foundation Diyā, unhoṁ ne haṅg ko yah karke diyā. Aur ākhir mein apne chhoṭe bhāī ko voh jīvan mein yeh kahte the ki agar nahīṁ hai koī śiṣya ban rahā hai to viśvak to bhāī hai, to maiṁ yah bālakon se yah āpekṣā. Kartā ho ki jaise Viśokanand, Viśvadevānand jā hai. Be devoted to the organization, not to the bad reputation. Similarly, all of you will be devoted to this organization by joining together. You will keep the bad reputation. Our Pañca Parameśvara and Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Mahāprabhu, who have come from our Haridvāra, are like this. All of them are our soulmates, and they are our friends. Adham Chetan ji, yesterday at five o’clock, he was starting the Maṅgala Caraṇa of Śrāvaṇa. There was a competition for children from first class to M.A. class, in which there was a Gītā competition. Kausalya’s character was kept this time. This time it was used for the welfare of the saints. This is our Sanātana Dharma. We can say it anywhere with the help of a stick, that it is a great protection, and all other sects of Dharma are its branches. It has its leaves, flowers, fruits, but Sanātana Dharma is a great protection. This is the reason for it. We have kept it in our story as well. So, because of Mahārāj Jī’s love, saints meet with devotion and worldly people meet with attachment. Somewhere we are born, somewhere something is born, somewhere he is born. What we get is from the Nāda. The Guru Mantra is called Nāda. When the Guru worships him and his development takes place within the disciple, then he is called Nāda here. We are all brothers of Lord Śiva. Mātā Pārvatī Devī, Pitā Devo Maheśvarāha, Vandhava Śiva Bhaktasya, Solokam Bhuvanam Prayam. In this way, whatever time I have, I will leave now. Thank you very much. I wish you a lot of good luck. And in this way, Mahārāj Jī’s tradition will continue to flourish and grow. And in Rajasthan, I tell you, although I am a Rājguru, I have two or three Mādhava with me, I am a Rājguru. And that is a matter of time. But now Mahārāj Jī here, the third Sarva Videshu, Mahārāj Jī has established the Aumkār Mandir here. This Aumkār Temple, after seeing it from the outside, see it from the spiritual point of view, that Kṛṣṇa said that where there is Aumkār, there I will establish a Gurulī Vājā. This is Lord Kailāśa’s Kailāśa, Vṛndāvana’s Rāsamandala. You will continue to bless me, and I will also continue to bless you. As long as I am in this body, I will continue to be with you. I will continue to sing. I will continue to go with you. Gītī Śāstram Īkṣat Yad Sandhi Saṅg Śabhu Viśvabhūbhav Sandhe Bhīmav Dhṛtaśam Bhaguvah Amṛta Śādev Dhāraṇā Bhūyaśam Śarīram Te Vikraśanam Jīvāte Mādhāvattava Karṇa Vhyam Morī Viśrāvam Brāhmaṇap Kośa Sudhirāya Prītam Surdam Te Gopāya Kīrtam Te Gopāya Om Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ Satguru Deva, Bhagavad Gītā. Satguru Deva, Bhagavad Gītā... Yes, Mahārāj, there is a feeling in my heart that I have not been able to communicate with you. Paramadhānī Ananta Śrī Viśvāśrī, Dharma Samrāṭa, Hindu Dharma Samrāṭa. There used to be a king among us, but now he is a Hindu Dharma Samrāṭ. Mahārāj, I don’t have the desire to take your name. This name is so great; how can I not be able to understand this person? Pūjya Mahārāj Śrī, Mañchkā Sañcārnakāḍeve, Ādrāṇai, Bombay Kī Śobhā, Svāmī Citvarānandjī Mahārāj, Hamāre Parmātmī, Abhim, Hṛdaya Vāsadhā Rehne Vāle, Hamāre Pūjya Svāmī Śiv, Trevanandjī Mahārāj, Hamāre Ādrāṇai, Jodhpur Se Paḍhare. Our Pūjya Mahāmaṇḍaleśvarānanda, Śiv Sunuparānandjī Mahārāj, and our Mahārāj Śrī’s four beloved disciples, who have been appointed as Mahāmaṇḍaleśvar, and the Akhāṛā Śrī is our Svāmī, what is his name? Savi Pañca Parveśvara, Savi Pañca Parveśvara, in Bhāṣaṇa Ceta. It is a matter of great joy. Mahārāj Śrī, now in the form of Man Sañcal, says that earlier there were the trees of Bābol. He Kevalam He Kevalam... Śānti āte jāte hain, aur phūl sāg kāṇṭoṁ mein khilte. Mahārāj says that flowers grow on other thorns. Flowers grow on other thorns. Flowers grow on other thorns. These are thorns. Do you know what kind of flowers these are? These are not normal flowers. These are rose flowers. The most beautiful flower of a person is a rose. Rose flowers are the most beautiful. See the beginning of it. Mahāprabhujī kī Karatā Mahāprabhujī kī Karatā... Mahārāj Jī has named it as Phūl Purī, Phūl Purī, and the other one is Phūl. Phūl means incomplete, Phūl means complete. Complete, incomplete is not there, so this is Phūl Purī. Phūl Purī is also there. Like this, Phūl Purī is worshiped. Mahārāj Śrī is there, what are his specialties? That much, you go to Phūl, go to Gulāb, pay attention, go to Gulāb, and spread your hands towards Gulāb, towards Desī Gulāb. I will tell you the truth, I saw it with my own eyes that there are thorns in the back of the flower, what happens? There are thorns in the back of the flower, but the flower keeps laughing. Now you don’t see the saint. How many problems are there behind the saint? How many problems are there behind the saint?... Saint, how many problems are there behind the saint? How many problems are there behind the saint? How many problems are there behind the saint?... Behind the saint, how many problems are there? Behind the saint, how many problems are there?... Saint, how many problems are there behind the saint? How many problems are there behind the saint? How many problems are there behind the saint Purījī? Purījī... Satchitānand Bhagavān Niki, Har Haramahadev Mahārāj knows that even if Mahārāj doesn’t believe in anyone’s bad deeds, he only believes in himself. I am understanding. I want to say something, but Har Haramahādev, see, there is dīmak, dīmak. Dīmak destroys wood, beautiful wood. Dīmak destroys wood, and Śivāṛ destroys water. Mahāprabhujī kī Karatā Mahāprabhujī kī Karatā... Mahāprabhujī kā satsaṅg, koī madhyam? All of them are very wise, very capable, and let me tell you one more thing: what happens is that the foundation stands very high, on which the foundation stone is not visible. The foundation stone is not visible. I would like to say that in the case of Avatārpuri Jī, the stone put down in that... The building is not visible, even though it is not on the Madhavshwar path, but the building is under his control. Hare Hare Mahādeva, so this is how our Avatārapurījī is. So, all of them, it is a very happy occasion. Our Pañca Parameśvara has arrived. And all Mahāmaṇḍaleśvarans, by naming Pañc Parveśvar, have offered their chakras today. And Mahārāj Śrī has made Mahāmaṇḍaleśvar by washing our Kulpūrī Jī. And now, our Kishtamālā has become a Maṇi. It has become a Mañekā. Many, many congratulations. Many, many wishes. With these words, I will make my Bānī. Hari Hari... Satgurudeva Bhagavad Gītā, Jai Satgurudeva Bhagavad Gītā, Jai... Mahāprabhujīp Karatā Mahāprabhujīp Karatā He Kevalam... Mahāprabhujīp Karatā He Kevalam Mahāprabhujīp Karatā He Kevalam... I have this saying: I told them to go to Agrajī, but I didn’t go to Agrajī. But I told you, Mahārāj Jī, today is the day of Dīvālī, and I was in Australia, Mahārāj. Śiṣya dete, rāt sabhī ko, rāt bhar un sar ko bhajan kiyā. Main tī mānā rāt ko 2-3 baje, phir mene kār mere kamre me jāke, pariśram karu, aur ānkh bandh kar dī aur uske bād meṁ vāpur āye, Devpurījī, Bhagavān, Mahāprabhujī ke, ye Devpurījī. In reality, what is said and what is not said, I don’t understand. Okay, Om. After saying Om, Bābājī came down and said, "Then he said, Om, Om, where is this Om?" After that, I got up again and said to everyone, "Yoga." And yoga is yoga in daily life. Then he also gave it to Bābājī first. So from there, I got all the German, Magiri, all the languages on the same day. All of them, they all know this too. Even in other countries, there has been a similar situation. There, and I said, people used to say that Mahāśvarānandajī is not good. I said, "What is not good? There will be no Mahās Maṇḍira at all." So the foreign students also said that they had to go to Mars to do this and that. I said I will not do it. And while doing it, you see that in Europe and in all other countries, you see that today all these people have left Mars. Mars is their family. Mahāprabhujī kī Karatā Mahāprabhujī kī Karatā... Even then, nothing happened to my family, but what they had not done happened to them. I went back to Austria, to Abhiyara. All my disciples, no matter how much, did not get sick. And they told me, they told me in Europe, that you tell me how you did not get sick, how did you get sick? How do I tell you in India that I did not get sick? I haven’t seen India yet, and if I have seen it, it is because of the month of March. Yes, it is not like that. There are some people, but a little bit of hurry. Thank you. So if we come back, Modiji, they have come back, it is very good, and tell all of you to leave this month of March, then all of us will be fine.
