The Grace of the Satguru

The Satguru alone grants liberation from birth and death. Only the Guru's grace and the medicine of the divine word can cure the soul's ailments and transcend the cycle. The Guru dispels doubt and imparts true knowledge to all who seek, guiding them in right action for purification. Yet, the ultimate state is beyond mortal perception; it is found by seeking a true saint in whom the seeker can reach the divine. The Guru is the indispensable giver of intellect and the sole means to the imperceptible truth.

"Only through the love of the pure-hearted Gurudev can the cycle of birth and death be transcended; no one else can accomplish this work."

"Paramātmā cannot be seen with these eyes because He is beyond perception, unseen."

Victory to the eternal Dharma of truth. Victory to Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān. Victory to Śrī Mādava Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān. Sadguru Jī has purified the mind. Sadguru Jī has transformed birth and death. Only through the love of the pure-hearted Gurudev can the cycle of birth and death be transcended; no one else can accomplish this work. The Sadguru is the giver who comes as Veda, showing the way of Nāmas to destroy those vices. The Sadguru is made a doctor to eliminate those defects. The Sadguru is the giver who comes as Veda, showing the way of Nāmas to cure your ailments. See, Nāmas is the ocean of understanding, the flow of karma nāḍī. Gurudev is known to all, but the method of yoga is known only to the true practitioner. Nothing else matters; the mind and prāṇa are reversed and come and go, but my Guru feels dear to me. The Sadguru knows everything. Among these three types of disciples—uttama, madhyama, and kaniṣṭha—anyone may come. So, Gurudev, when those who desire self-knowledge come, dispels their doubts by speaking words that remove their confusion. He does not entertain selfish desires but instead reveals methods for attaining perfection. When the novice comes, he imparts true knowledge and guides them in the right actions. Perform good actions, for by doing good actions... purification arises in the final instrument, and the impurities and faults are removed. But for the ultimate reason, it is necessary to undergo treatment repeatedly through birth and death, getting entangled in the worldly affairs of this world. Speak, the merciful Satguru is the giver of intellect and wisdom. Yes, it is true—the Satguru has come into the world as the king Indra; there is no deficiency in the vessel of knowledge. If the clouds pour heavy rain, then the farmer sows his own seeds; two fields are cultivated. Dānārāmī says that the giver loses the branch of the tree. The Satguru has come into the world; King Indra is beautiful. The Satguru is to be worshipped; the one who worships is indeed worshipped. By giving the medicine of the word, the Satguru removes the pain of worldly existence. Long live the Guru Bhagavān! Victory to the Guru’s feet, the melody of rāga, the essence of sweetness, the melody of rāga, the essence of sweetness... When Kabīr met the supreme messenger, saints met saints, and all illusions of time and bondage were destroyed; the old head of sin fell like a tree. Such is the fortune before great souls, that one attains the blessing to bow their egoistic head. Those people are truly blessed who set out to seek Paramātmā. Paramātmā cannot be seen with these eyes because He is beyond perception, unseen. How can a mortal understand Him? Kabīr Jī, presenting a beautiful state in this verse, said: "Alakh puruṣa kī ārcī, sādhu kahī de lakhā, jo chāhe alakh ko inī meṁ tū lakh le." If you wish to grasp that Alakh which is beyond knowing, if you wish to know what is beyond seeing, then look for such a saintly mahātma. In them, you will reach Paramātmā. Say, "Satguru, have mercy." As you live, as you live... Victory to Satguru Bhagavān Alkapurujī Mārājē! Victory to the gods and goddesses, Svayaṃ Brahmā, Ekajāra, Āṭhṣṭa Depuriśā, and Mādev! Victory to Bhagavān Śrī Dīpanāna Mahāprabhujī! Hail to the universal moon, the mighty Sadguru Bhagavān Mādhvanana Jī Mārāj! Hail to Viśvaguru, Māmaleśvara, Jagadguru, Pramāṇśa Yogirāja Svāmī Śrī Meśarānana Jī Mārāj! Today, as every year on Gurudev Bhagavān Svadīpanāna Mahāprabhojī’s anniversary, we are celebrating with great enthusiasm. A bhajan: Gurudev, Śākta Śākta, Śiva rūpa, in the incarnation of Bhagavān Śaṅkara, Viśvaguru, Isrāna Jī Mārāj, everyone wishes to listen to this bhajan; they have been waiting for a long time. Oh, on this sacred land of Bhāratī, Śrī Meśvarānanda Jī Mahārāj has appeared, Śrī Meśvarānanda Jī Mahārāj... Sadguru Bhagavān Viśva Indu Samrāṭ, Sadguru Mādhavanana Jī Mahārāj has written this bhajan: "Jug jug jīyo Maheśvara Ānanda Jī, jug jug jīyo Maheśvara."
