Beauty is in our heart

Yoga in daily life is the way to return to God.

Yoga has existed over 13,000 years. It must be practiced and shared. True yoga means no meat or alcohol—otherwise, it is empty exercise. The world does not know what real yoga or God is. Knowing God entails non-violence toward animals. India was entrusted with teaching the return to God. External influences caused problems, but now peace and understanding are reemerging. Many people worldwide give up meat, milk, and honey, recognizing animals’ rights. Killing animals is not permissible. Yoga is for all faiths. Many spiritual teachers spread this, yet meat-eating negates practice. Humans, unlike animals, can choose compassion. A morning practice involves balancing inner sound on both sides. Balanced sound aligns speech and action. This tradition ensures a harmonious day. Inner beauty creates lasting bonds and happiness.

“If someone eats meat and consumes alcohol, they are not a yogī and have no real yoga; then it becomes mere exercise.”

“The whole world does not know what yoga truly is. They do not know what Bhagavān is.”

Iṣā Mahādevakī, Mādhāvanānjī Bhagavānakī, Satya Sanātan Dharmakī, Bhāṭā Pitā Gurudevakī, Satya Sanātan Dharmakī, Oṁ Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ, Śāntiḥ. Our yoga in daily life has been present around the world for more than 13,000 years. We must practice it ourselves and share it with others. This is the way of yogīs. But if someone eats meat and consumes alcohol, they are not a yogī and have no real yoga; then it becomes mere exercise. They may speak many words, but without true understanding, it is empty. The whole world does not know what yoga truly is. They do not know what Bhagavān is. If one truly knows Bhagavān, one would never eat meat, drink alcohol, or engage in such things. Yet people did not understand this. Nowhere else in any country does anyone speak about God in this way. Of course, everyone is good, and they are doing various things, but it is not for the purpose of returning back to God. That is why it was India’s role. Other countries also have their place, but they faced problems and lacked knowledge. People from other countries sometimes brought their habits to us, and we already had meat-eating and such things here. Unfortunately, when our people were acquiring much learning, many began to eat meat and adopt other ways, and that is why problems arose in India. Yet now, after many years, a darkness seemed to be spreading. But I think that within about five years, we are again returning to peace, harmony, understanding, and the real God—where is God? When I was in your country, I saw that everyone was eating meat constantly. I told them, “I do not eat any meat.” Many years have passed, and the people understood. How many worldwide now follow this? Of course, in India too they speak of it. Mahāprabhujī Karatā, He Kevalam. Many people coming to India now refuse to eat meat even on the airplane. I have been told that they even avoid milk and honey, because they say, “The honey is not intended for us; the bees gather it for themselves.” Some people, however, consume everything and mix things with water. Now in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Canada, America—everywhere—people increasingly ask, “Why are cows and other animals killed?” I am so happy that you are here, and you will share this with others. It does not matter whatever else is happening; we must not kill animals. Now, what is Yoga in Daily Life? Yoga is yoga; it is for everyone. We have many—not only myself but many Swāmīs and Mahāmaṇḍaleśvaras—who continuously teach it to all. Many great sādhus are here, better than me. Yet many people are being pulled down. Many great yogīs from India travel to other countries and do wonderful work. But when people come to a yoga class and then go home and eat meat, that is not true yoga. We are human beings. Jīva jīva bhakṣyate—living beings consume living beings. Animals do not know any better. Those who eat meat and indulge in such things—that is why Bhagavān Śiva brought a teaching to remind them, but some just fall back again. This cycle continues. In the past five years, many people have become disciples and stopped eating meat. You have come here, and we must practice sincerely—yoga and all that it entails. But a yoga practice should be like a school: students attend regularly, not sporadically. In Yoga in Daily Life, it does not matter if you are Muslim, Christian, or anything else; everyone is welcome. Let us begin the practice again. Five times. Yes. And the sound—you have some understanding, yes? Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān. Oṁ Śānti, Śānti, Śānti. Hari Oṁ. Both sides. Speak, yes? And stop. Do not move the eyes. It is like this: focus here, and listen: from which side do you hear more? If your tooth is like this, then discern which direction the sound goes more—this side or that side? Or does it come exactly together? It will return again. This is very important. Many in other countries cannot do this, but in India we have the understanding. Those who practice from the innermost depth, holding the focus in this part, will sometimes feel the sound on one side, sometimes on the other. Try it yourself completely. The sound should resonate equally on both sides here. When the sound is balanced, it means we are very great yogīs. Once more, Abhigraha. Five times is enough. You may do two, three, or five times, but not too long. Afterward, bring your attention to the heart. See yourself: where is the sound? Not an ordinary sound, but loops like this on the heart. Do not press; just observe. How is it in your heart? With the hand, hold it gently on the body—like this—without pressing. Women should not press on the breast area; go a little higher. Inhale nicely and take your hand down. Only five times. That was five times, and the other practice also five times. All this reveals the state of your “tooth”—if it is less on one side, then the sound goes fully in one direction; then let it open. When it comes from both sides to the very point, then we are aligned in speech and action. This is given in the yogic tradition, especially in India. People learn this very much there. Do you practice always? In the āśram, in the Vedic tradition, this is done every morning after the bathroom; then the whole day goes very well. We will continue tomorrow. Satya Sanātana Dharma kī Oṁ Śānti Śānti… Mā, Mā, and Bāp, when you come to India—also in other countries it was very good. People think: this girl marries this boy, or that arrangement, and later they go separate ways, saying, “I will not stay,” and move to another. How times change! But in India, the way we are, it brings exactly that she and he become a family, for their entire life, for the sake of the world. They do not wish to go to another person. A mother remains a mother. A good man and his wife are both very good; then there are no problems. Do not think external beauty is real beauty. What is beauty? Beauty is in the heart. When you see that, there is so much happiness. They are happy. They become one. It does not matter if you wander elsewhere; you will return again to the same bond. That is what I have spoken about in other parts. You must observe this among Indians. In India, they are writing about this. Tell us exactly what it is, when and how. We will discuss it again tomorrow. So, what exactly is there in India? Aroma Mahārāj Jī, metho. That is why it is so happy, so peaceful, so beautiful is the inner self. Tomorrow perhaps I will tell someone else. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, Jai Ho, Hari Om, Kī Jai Ho. Āge jaldī, Hari Om.
