Bhajans from Poprad

Life is a vast ocean; the goal is to find the right direction and reach the harbor.

The world is an illusion, a dream, and a person clinging to it is like a captain sailing aimlessly. To attain self-knowledge, seek a true guru. Upon finding such a one, fear not in the ocean, for knowledge dries it up and one crosses with dry feet to the harbor. What holds a person is love for the master’s lotus feet; nothing else has value. When the guru shows mercy, all pain vanishes and worldly illusion leaves only true joy and reality. Repeating the sacred name of the incarnation crosses the ocean of ignorance. True devotees bow to the lotus feet; touching the dust of those feet grants liberation. All efforts succeed through receiving grace. Day and night, repeat the sacred name; the guru removes all obstacles. The guru is the supreme bestower, the lord of destiny, the embodiment of the world’s lord, the supreme liberator. With that grace, no karma can harm and māyā loses power. Grace purifies destiny, bringing success and liberation. During meditation, focus on the guru’s form; then fear nothing. The one upon whom grace rests is already on the other side of the ocean. Keep the guru’s image in the heart; then death is only awakening, a new dawn.

“If you receive the grace of Gurudev, then no karma can harm you, and māyā will lose its power over you.”

“Whoever has the form of the guru in their heart need not fear death. He will realize that it is only awakening—a new dawn.”

A revered saint from Rajasthan, India, composed and sang about our life. He compares life to a vast ocean, and our goal is to find the right direction and swim toward the harbor. He compares the world to an illusion and a dream, and a person who clings to this dream and this illusion is like a captain of a ship in the ocean who does not know where he is sailing—aimlessly crossing that ocean. He speaks about the fact that a person who wishes to discover the knowledge of who we truly are, what in yoga is called Ātmajñāna, needs to seek a true guru and master. And when he finds such a one, he need not fear that anything will happen to him in that ocean of existence, because that knowledge dries up the ocean, and then we can cross with dry feet into the harbor—to the right harbor. Peace says that what holds Juh in this world is love for his master, for his lotus feet. And besides that, nothing else in this world has value. Gurudev showed mercy, and then all pain vanished; all worldly things, all that dream and illusion, vanished, leaving only true joy and reality. Janma, the day of Śrī Dīpa Mahāprabhujī, was the incarnation of God, Īśvarī. And by repeating His name, one can cross the ocean of ignorance. True bhaktas bow to His lotus feet. Whoever touches the dust of His lotus feet attains liberation. All your efforts will be successful when you receive Guru Kṛpā. Day and night, repeat His sacred name, and the Guru will remove all obstacles in your life. Mahāprabhujī is the supreme bestower, the lord of destiny. He is the embodiment of the lord of this world, the supreme liberator. If you receive the grace of Gurudev, then no karma can harm you, and māyā will lose its power over you. Guru Kṛpā will purify your destiny, and you will attain success and liberation. During meditation, focus on the form of the guru; then you need not fear anything. The one upon whom the grace of Gurudev rests is already on the other side of the ocean. Keep the image of your guru in your heart. Whoever has the form of the guru in their heart need not fear death. He will realize that it is only awakening—a new dawn. Śrī Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, Kī Jaya, Kumbha Melā, Jādana Purī Jī, Siddha Purī Jī, Siddha... Purī Jī. Śrīdhara Nārāyaṇa Mahāprabhujī was the embodiment of Īśvarī, and by repeating His name, one can cross the ocean of ignorance. So now I will read it first, and then you will all sing it together, so that you actually know how to understand and read the songbooks, and also understand the translation. This is a bhajan about Śrī Mahāprabhujī, who is actually one of the greatest masters of this spiritual lineage originating from India, and who is essentially the father of the system of “Yogī in Daily Life.” It is the teacher Holiguru Jī, who actually taught Svāmījī. Śrīdhara Mahāprabhujī is the embodiment of Īśvarī, and by repeating His name, one can cross the ocean of ignorance. True bhaktas bow to His lotus feet; whoever touches the dust of His feet attains liberation. All your efforts will be successful when you receive Guru Kṛpā, His grace. Day and night, repeat His sacred name, the mantra, and the Guru will remove all obstacles from your life. Mahāprabhujī is the supreme giver, the lord of destiny, the embodied lord of this world, the highest liberator. If you receive the grace of Gurudev, then no karma can harm you, and māyā, the illusion, will lose its power over you. Guru Kṛpā will purify your destiny, and you will attain success and liberation. During meditation, focus on the form of the guru. Then you need not fear anything. The one upon whom the grace of Gurudeva, Guru Kṛpā, rests is already on the other side of the ocean. Keep His form in your heart. Whoever has the form of the guru in their heart need not fear death. He will realize that it is only awakening—a new dawn.
