Satsang from the Bhakti Sagar

The glory of the divine guide is supreme compassion and protection. A place becomes sacred through the spiritual practice of a great soul. Even a being of immense power, like Rāvaṇa, who commanded all worldly pleasures and deities, found his ultimate happiness not in his dominion but in uttering the name of God. This demonstrates that the bliss found in divine name and Guru's service is unmatched by any worldly method. The teachings of a capable Sadguru act as sacred mantras. By meditating upon these words, one can transform life and attain all happiness. The Guru is the eternal incarnation, guiding from darkness to light. True joy is found only at the divine feet of the Guide. Satsaṅg itself is the sacred confluence where divine knowledge flows.

"By uttering the mantra 'Śiva,' when will I become happy?"

"The joy felt upon uttering God's name is found nowhere else."

Bhole Bhagavān Śaṅkar, Bhole Nāth Kī Jai, Bhaktarāj Puṣpadanta Kī Jai, Ṣaḍguru Deva Bhagavān Kī Jai. Manaḥ. Om Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ... Offering reverent salutations to the lotus feet of the venerable World Teacher, Viśva Gurujī, and to all the revered saints, the assembly of devotees, I consider myself honored to be at this place today. Many people have come from afar. Everyone can understand Hindi, can't they? This land of Pavan, like all of India, is itself the land of sages. And within it, this very spot where we sit has been sanctified by the spiritual practice, yoga, and satsaṅg of Pūjya Mahārāj Jī and the tradition. A place becomes a pilgrimage when a great soul practices there. Thus, this place has been worshipped and hallowed by Pūjya Mahārāj Jī. It is said that when the great devotee of Lord Śiva, Rāvaṇa, walked here, the earth would shake. The mountain Kailāśa, where Lord Mahādeva sits, he would lift upon his shoulders—such was his power. Brahmājī himself would come here to teach him the Vedas. When Rāvaṇa was occupied, even Brahmājī would wait for him to become free. Such was his might. People speak of good and bad destiny. The destiny written on one's forehead can also be changed. This powerful Rāvaṇa once asked Brahmājī, "What is written in my destiny? When is my death written, and by whom shall I die?" Brahmājī replied, "Rāvaṇa, your death is ordained by a human being." Rāvaṇa laughed, thinking, "I cannot be killed by the great gods; how can a mere human kill me?" Believing destiny could be altered, he sacrificed his head to God. Later, a new head grew, and he became ten-headed. The essence is that Rāvaṇa was immensely powerful. All deities were under his sway. One might imagine such a powerful being lacked nothing. Yet this mighty Rāvaṇa says, "By uttering the mantra 'Śiva,' when will I become happy?" This implies: was there any lack of happiness for that Rāvaṇa? The Rāvaṇa who served the nine planets, who performed rituals here, near whom all gods and all worldly and universal happiness resided—what happiness did he still seek? He desired the happiness found in taking God's name. This means the bliss found in God's name, in our Guru's service, in the words spoken by our Guru—that happiness, that bliss, cannot be found in any worldly pleasure or by any other method. The joy felt upon uttering God's name is found nowhere else. That is why we sit in the shelter of a capable Sadguru. The teachings he gives, if we meditate upon them, each and every word—the Guru's word, the word of the Āpta Puruṣa—is a sacred formula for us, our faith, our practice. Everything spoken by such a powerful Sadguru works as a mantra for us, as medicine, as a lifesaver. Certainly, we can all imprint those great mantras and teachings in our hearts, transforming our life from the divine to the divine, making our life happy. For even Rāvaṇa, in all his majesty, did not experience the happiness found in chanting God's name. By chanting God's name and serving the Guru, all of us can attain all happiness within our hearts. With this wish, I conclude my discourse. Once again, all say in chorus: Victory to Sadgurudev Bhagavān! Thank you for your gracious efforts. I am not feeling well. Victory to the Emperor of Hindu Dharma, Śrī Mādhāvanandjī Bhagavān. Victory to the World Teacher, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Yogī Rāja, the Supreme Father, Parameśvara, the supremely venerable Sadguru Dev. Victory to the True Sanātana Dharma. Hari Om. I bow to the holy lotus feet of Viśvagurujī. Revered Śivjyotiśānandajī Mahārāj from Ajmer, Gurudev's successor, Svāmī Avatārapurījī Mahārāj, my dear brother, Guru-bhāī Sanyāsī, Svāmī Yogeśpurījī, Svāmī Nirejanpurījī, Sudarśanpurījī, and Ānandpurījī, and all holy Gurujīs and Viśvagurujīs, all devotees, all beloved disciples of Guru Mahārāj—this is Bhakti Sāgara, an ocean of devotion, true to its name. This Gurujī, the holy Gurujī and Viśvagurujī, gave the divine name 'Bhakti Sāgara' to this place where we sit—the ocean of joy. We bathe daily in this divine ocean through devotion to God. Today is a special day, Guru Vāra (Thursday), dedicated to Gurudev. In India, every day, minute, hour, month, and year has its festivals. Guru Vāra is for worshipping Gurudev. All beings in the universe worship Gurudev. Holy Gurujī used to say in satsaṅg that all creatures search for happiness and joy in life. Where do we find it? Holy Gurujī said joy and happiness are found only at the divine feet of Gurudev. Nak maṇi gaṇa guru jyoti. The Rāmāyaṇa says: Guru caraṇa raja śiṣa dharaḥi sakala viśva ka vaśa karaḥi. When we place our head upon the dust of the Guru's feet, our destiny changes. Mahārājī spoke of Gurudev's glory and his divine light. Our Holy Gurujī explained beautifully about Gurudev, who guides us from darkness to light. Viśvagurujī says, "Lord, lead us from darkness to light, from unreality to reality, from mortality to immortality." We are lucky and fortunate to be with Viśvagurujī, following the tradition of our Devpurījīs, Alakpurījīs, and Mahāprabhujī's divine light and path. As mentioned by Holy Gurujī in Līlā Amṛta: without satsaṅg, we cannot attain dispassion (vairāgya); without dispassion, we cannot attain life's joy and essence; and without the grace of Gurudev or God—for there is no difference between Gurudev and God—we cannot attain anything. Holy Gurujī and Viśva Gurujī often explain in satsaṅg that there are two types of incarnations: Nitya and Nimitta. The Nimitta incarnation comes from time to time to destroy negative demonic tendencies. But the Nitya incarnation, present every day, is the Guru. Our guru-paramparā are all Nitya incarnations. Countless devotees and disciples seek the goal of happiness and joy, striving to reach the divine light of Mahāprabhujī. Millions worldwide follow this yoga and way of life, reading Līlā Amṛta, the nectar of our life. Gurujī explained in Līlā Amṛta about Guru-bhakti, Guru-mahimā, and the glory of God. In Līlā Amṛta, it is described how Gurudev bestows joy, happiness, and divine light. People go to Prayāgarāj to bathe in the Gaṅgā. But Gurujī said, "Where our guru-paramparā gives discourses and blessings, that place itself is Prayāgarāj." Where satsaṅg flows—the Gaṅgā in the form of Rāma—there flows the nectar of divine light and knowledge. Satsaṅg spreads the divine knowledge of the Guru-paramparā. Thank you very much. I am a child of the sages; these divine beings, this divine light, this divine moon, are with me, giving me the opportunity to share my feelings and the blessings of holy Gurujī, of Gīśo Gurujī. Thank you all, and thank you, Gurudev, for this opportunity. Om. May there be peace, peace, peace... Victory to Alak Purīśa Mā Devā. Victory to Dev Purīśa Mā Devā. Victory to Dīpeśvara Mā Devā. Victory to the Emperor of Hindu Dharma, Mādhāvanandjī Bhagavān. Victory to the World Teacher, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Yogī Rāja, the Supreme Father, Parameśvara, the supremely venerable Sadguru Dev. Victory to the True Sanātana Dharma. Hari Om.
