We are one family

This spiritual home is our family, connected not by worldly karma but by surrender to the Guru.

Worldly family ties are temporary bonds of past karma. Here, we form a lasting spiritual family under our Gurudeva. True connection requires complete faith and surrender from the heart, not half-hearted belief. Personal effort is essential: we must purify our inner vessel through sādhanā, mantra, and prayer to receive grace. Satsaṅg, whether in person or virtual, sustains this connection within the lineage. The Guru embodies the entire lineage; we cannot hide from this compassionate presence. Surrender your ego through devotion and let the Guru's light guide you.

"Our own family—father and mother—are connected by our karma, so we eventually part."

"If you have complete faith, just that faith, and the number one rule of that faith is surrendering."

You see that Matajī there? Yes. Come, come here. No matter how far we are, this is home. We all have fathers and mothers. So if you are far away, you go home every year to see your parents. It is the same. Parents long for their children to come home. For us, this is a yoga family. I have known many of you for years, but many of you are new. Still, we are one family. This is our Gurudeva, our father and mother. So spiritually, we have our home here. Our own family—father and mother—are connected by our karma, so we eventually part. It doesn't matter; you have your husband, wife, children. These are just... worldly relationships. We are born into a family by our past karma. Some have good karma and a good family, but some are not so lucky. And whatever we are doing is very much held by our karma. Our feelings, our makeup, are basically molded by the family we grew up in. So we all have a past, and our past brings us to today. We all have problems; none of us are without them. But here, we are blessed to be able to be Viśvagurujī’s disciples. However, we must have faith. If you come as a disciple half-heartedly—and I have come across many who, even after a long, long time, still hold on to their own beliefs—it is not enough. If you have complete faith, just that faith, and the number one rule of that faith is surrendering. Surrender whatever your problems. All the time we come to Vishwagurujī’s feet because we want to surrender. This surrendering is not just physical; it has to come from the heart. If you truly have faith, you will not dwell on your problems so much, because your guru will find all ways of solving them. But first, we must have a clean vessel. When I speak of the vessel, I mean our heart and our body. If your vessel is not clean and you put amṛt inside, it will be tinted by the other stuff within. This is what our sādhanā is all about. We have a mantra; the mantra helps us purify our mind. And our prayers—the morning and evening prayers—help us to understand, especially in the evening prayer, who our guru is. For me, it was also very hard to learn. First, we memorize step by step. But somehow, once you are repeating it all the time, the light will come, and then you understand something. Also, Viśwa Gurujī always emphasizes satsaṅg, like we are doing now. Without satsaṅg, we will not come true, because in satsaṅg we are with our lineage. It does not matter if we are here, back in our ashram, or, in modern days, if you have no ashram. I am on a Zoom satsaṅg; it is valid because we are still singing bhajan, still doing prayer, and doing everything the same, even though we are on Zoom. We also come to know each other. I am so happy to see some of you today. I was very sad, but now I am very happy. Then there are so many who come again. Because I am Chinese, when I went to China, I saw that the gathering of family is truly important. And this is our spiritual family, so it is truly important. We come home to see our father and mother. Just now I spoke of surrender. So, what is our mantra for surrendering? Can we sing Nāhaṁ Karatā? Can we all sing Nāhaṁ Karatā together? Všetci spolu. That means we have to surrender our ego, let the light take over, whatever the results will be. And who is the light? He is our Guru: Oṁ Brahma, Guru Viṣṇu, Guru Devo, Maheśvara. So let us also sing that, please, all of us, and after singing, we surrender to him. Oṁ Brahma, Guru Viṣṇu, Guru Devo, Maheśvara, Guru Satsaṅg, Parabrahma, Tasmai Śrī Guruve Namaḥ. Please surrender to Viśwagurujī. Please bow down. Please give your respect, your bow to the Master. Thank you all. We sing this every evening in our evening prayer. If you are new, perhaps try to understand what you are singing. I think this is the most important part of being with Śrī Śrī Gurujī. Mahāprabhujī passed away, holy Gurujī passed away, and Śrī Devapurījī passed away. But they are not gone. Our Vishwagurujī is the embodiment of all of them. We do not know what we are doing, and we do not know what we are thinking, but we cannot hide away from Viśvagurujī. It sounds scary, right? But that is how he can give us what we need—if we clean our vessel. Thank you all, and welcome to all of you who came today. I hope all of you stay a long, long time, and if you have to go, come back again. I am very happy to see all of you, with all my love.
