Webcast from Strilky

A disciple reflects on the culmination of a long spiritual journey. Meeting the teacher in 1986 began a shared struggle, with the disciple's devotion fluctuating like waves. Now at eighty-five, life is in its overtime, marked by physical limitation. The waves have settled, leaving a single wish: to think only of God and to depart life in His arms, fulfilling life's ultimate dharma. Meditation was always difficult, but hard work was embraced as active practice. With activity now diminished, the focus turns inward, going deeper inside. The aim from the beginning was to meet and be with God.

"When we work hard, it is also a kind of meditation, a kind of active meditation."

"The aim of our life, which we actually came here for, is to meet God and to be with God."

Thank you very much. I am a little taken aback. I don’t know what to tell you. I am happy to have such a big family—I mean you, all of you. Thank God I met Swamiji in the year 1986. It was a very beautiful meeting, and since then we have been, sort of, fighting together. Because I think I am not always easy. And to be such a long-time disciple is not easy either. It is like a wave. Sometimes you feel really happy, you are really full of energy, and then it goes down. Slowly, slowly, my life is coming to an end, because this Monday I am 85. And I think it is my overtime, as I feel it, to live such a long age. It is nothing for me. I do not feel comfortable walking slowly, walking with a stick. I know that is life, but... And as I was talking about these waves, now the waves are over. I have only a single wish: I know that my life is drawing to an end, so I am trying to think only of God. I wish, when I am going, that I am in His arms. That I would not be a burden to anyone. And that is all I really want. What better could I expect? So that I would fulfill my life’s dharma. The aim of our life, which we actually came here for, is to meet God and to be with God. From the beginning, I have had big problems with meditation. I am trying my best. I still call Vishwagurujī Swāmījī because, for me, it is the time of friendship and relation. So I am used to calling him Swamiji still. Swamiji would tell us that when we work hard, it is also a kind of meditation, a kind of active meditation. So as long as I could, I was trying to work hard, I was trying to do my best. My best. Now, I am a bit unhappy that I cannot be as active as I used to be. So, I am trying to go really deeper inside. That is, in short, what I can tell you. So I came here from you all, and you were there in India, you were there, and I am sure that you know that you have seen very nice things there. Obřadu. And how many people it was from whole countries, everywhere—America, country, everywhere—and they all came here, that work, that site. And we have one of the yogīs here, from there he was that, and he made like this, people like this, and they all, they were coming to drink meat, not meat, coffee or chai, and like this, and many, many people, they were learned and got very nice mālā. So, do you know where your mala was? Yeah, long, yes. Yeah, so it, yes. Yes, bring us again now, yeah. So we will make this mala for you. I will bring it some time. Thank you. Āj he ānanda mere sattā gurū āye darśana na de sarva panāśāye. Ājā jīva, ājā jīva,... ājā jīva,... ājā jīva. Sattva Guru Aaye Kumākeśara Garani Pav, Kumākeśara Pav Achhyana. Mere Sattva Guru Aaye Achhyānanda. achi ananda mere. Sata guru aaye sata guru. Sattva Guru Svāmi Madhavānandajī Bhagavān Kī Jai. Viśvaguru Paramahaṁswāmī Maheśvarānandajī, Gurudeva Kī Jai.
