A Warm Welcome and the Three Books

A welcome address and discourse upon a spiritual teacher's return.

"You only have to look in those three books. Everything is explained there."

"When the Guru's kṛpā is upon you, you have nothing to worry about."

A devotee offers a warm welcome to Swāmījī upon his arrival at the airport after a long journey. The speaker emphasizes that all spiritual guidance is contained within three key books: a yoga book, a chakra book, and the Līlā Amṛt. Following this, another speaker chants a Maṅgalācaraṇ, explains its meaning as a salutation to the guru lineage from Sadāśiva to their current Gurudev, and expresses gratitude for the blessing of being in the Guru's service.

It is a great joy to welcome you, dear Master. We are very, very happy. After three months, it felt like a very long time. We could follow a little of your travels, but not that much. Now you are back, and we look forward to having great satsaṅg with you, darśan with you, lectures with you, satsaṅg, bhajan, and singing—everything in the coming months. While waiting at the airport, something Swāmījī told us five or six years ago came to my mind. He explained it in detail once when he arrived. He said, "Okay, my dears, now I have given you everything," and he elaborated. I would like to remind you that through our three books, Swāmījī has given us all the wisdom, all the love, and every explanation we need for any answer. Our yoga book, our chakra book, and our Līlā Amṛt—everything is contained within these three books. Once, when someone came to Swāmījī with this or that question, he said, "You only have to look in those three books. Everything is explained there. When you have any physical problem, look into the yoga book. When you have any problem with your spiritual development, look into the chakra book. If you have any problem with your bhakti, look into our bible: the Līlā Amṛt, the Living Light." This thought came to me when Swāmījī arrived from India at the airport, and I wanted to share it. So, we have everything. We have Swāmījī with us, and he has given us everything through these three books. Everything is explained. So, dear Swāmījī, once again, a very, very warm welcome. It is so nice to see you. You can see so much love from the people—sorry for my voice—people are so happy to see you. We are so happy to see you, and we wish you... you know, not too much stress here in Europe, not too much, and a good time here in Vienna. I know you will perhaps travel to Strelka again on Friday for nice air, fresh air, and a good environment for the next two or three months, hopefully. So, once again, a very warm welcome. Now, for this evening: Sadā Śiva Samarambham Śaṅkarācārya Madhyamam. Om Śālakpūr Jī Mahādev Kī Jai. Devād Dev Dev Viśvam Mahādev Kī Jai. Śrīdīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jai. Hindu Dharm Samrāṭ Paramahaṁsvāmī Śrī Madhavānandapurījī Satgurudev Bhagavān Kī Jai. Vishwagurū Mahāmaṇḍaleśvar Paramahaṁsvāmī Śrī Maheśvar Ānandapurījī Ogirāj Kī Jai. Salutations to the Cosmic Self. Salutations and Daṇḍot Praṇāms to the Śailak Puruṣ Siddhārthī Paramparā. My Daṇḍot Praṇām to our beloved Gurudev, His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśwar Paramahaṁsvāmī Maheśvar. Om Namo Nārāyaṇa to all the sannyāsīs sitting here, and Hari Om to everyone present. The translation of the Maṅgalācaraṇ: Maṅgalācaraṇ is essentially a śloka, a stuti. What is a stuti? It is something we chant to praise the Guru, to praise the Lord, or to offer our salutations and bow down to the Guru. The Maṅgalācaraṇa I chose to sing was: Sadāśiva Samārambhām, Śaṅkarācārya Madhyamām, Asmādācārya Paryantām, Vande Guru Paramparām. This means: starting from Sadāśiva Himself, from Lord Śiva who created everything, I bow down to Him—Sadāśiva Samārambhām, Śaṅkarācārya. Then, after Sadāśiva, in the middle, I offer Praṇām to Ādiguru Bhagavadpāda Śrī Śaṅkarācārya Jī Mahārāj. From where did Advaita Vedānta begin? From where did the four āśramas and all the sannyāsa paramparās essentially originate? So, bowing down to him: Sadāśiva Samarambham, Śaṅkarācārya Madhyamam, Asmadācārya Pariyantam, Vande Guru Paramparām. And from the paramparā to which I belong, from its beginning with the first guru, Śrī Alāpurjī Mahārāj, down to my beloved Gurudev, our current Gurudev, Viśvaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Paramahaṁsa Maheśvarānandapurījī Mahārāj, I bow to his lotus feet. This was the translation of the Maṅgalācārya I just sang. I am truly happy, and it is a blessing from Gurudev that he gave me the opportunity to come with him this time, to be in his seva, to travel with him, and to be with all of you. So, I am really happy to be here. It is all thanks to Gurudev. As Gurudev always says, when the Guru's kṛpā is upon you, you have nothing to worry about. When we have our beloved Gurudev with us, who is always watching over us and blessing us, then what do we have to worry about? There is a beautiful bhajan which says, in the same way, that when we have our beloved Gurudev Vishwagurujī with us, then what is there to worry about? There is nothing to worry about when you have Vishwagurujī. When you place your head at his lotus feet, then there is nothing to worry about. Essentially, when Gurujī's kṛpā is upon you, nothing can stop you. You will always proceed in life, fulfill your duties, and achieve whatever you wish for. With this, I would like to thank Vishwagurajī and offer praṇāms to him. There are so many things... When I arrived, he said, "Oh my God, what is this? Yes, it is so nice and everything, and you, yes, so, so..." You know, I am your... my father, or you, are there, so something rises up within me many, many times. So I will do like this, and I will work. Okay, thank you.
