Our heart is very great

The primordial sound Oṁ connects all humanity through its varied pronunciations across traditions. Scriptures state the universe began with this sound. As it traveled, the vibration transformed into "Amen" and "Āmīn" in other faiths, revealing a universal connection. This symbol is a gift for all mankind.

A restless mind is like a monkey snatching a banana. The struggle continues as long as one holds on. The teaching is to let go. Place the banana down; the monkey takes it peacefully and calms down. Similarly, stop wrestling with thoughts. Surrender them. Practices like meditation and devotion slow the mind. A peaceful mind resides in the present, reducing stress and increasing bliss. True peace comes from surrendering all expectations to the Master.

"The easiest option is to let go, put it down, and allow the mind to become peaceful."

"Gurudev, you do what you are doing."

As blessed as I always am to have the holy darśan of the great Guru, I wish to share a few thoughts. What does Oṁ mean? Our scriptures say the universe began with a sound, and that sound was Oṁ. In India, we prescribe to Aum. Why might other parts of the world not think Aum was the primordial sound? It is like this: In North India, you have Rāma. In Middle India, Rāma becomes Rāma. In South India, Rāma becomes Rāmaṇ. During the time of the great King Aśoka, monks travelled out and created the greatest trading route on the planet, the Silk Route, running from Beijing through India to Palestine. When Aum travelled to Palestine and the Middle East, a similar transformation occurred. Our Christian friends actually use the word Oṁ, but they pronounce it as "Amen"—just as Rāma becomes Rāmaṇa. Our friends in the Islamic community also unknowingly use Oṁ, but they say "Āmīn." You see, the whole world is connected to Oṁ. There is no greater gift for mankind and this planet than what Śrī Mahārāj Jī has delivered: the Aum symbol, the Aum Mandir in India. It is a gift not just for India, but for all humanity. I have been here for the last four or five days. I live in London and had the privilege of being invited by the Czech Parliament. We have a powerful group in the UK: the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences, which includes Āyurveda, Yoga, Yūnānī, Siddha, Homeopathy, Vāstu, Jyotiṣa, and Saṅgīta. These are all Indian traditional sciences for healing. We promote them in the British Parliament to help the policy-making community understand that if you truly wish to discuss prevention—which is better than cure—you need to speak with us. Unfortunately, COVID has left the UK with five million people suffering from long COVID. I am pleased to say the UK, in association with India's Ministry of Āyush, is now working with two and a half thousand patients in hospitals to see how Āyurveda can help. I also work in the European Parliament. On the 20th of June, I had the privilege of speaking for half an hour in the Czech Parliament, sharing that people here need freedom of choice for their health and wellness. We speak to the parliamentary community in Prague in a language of compassion. They have accepted an invitation to visit the UK Parliament to study our work. But my main reason for coming was to see Swāmījī. When I have the privilege to come, I make my humble services available for Āyurvedic consultation and treatment, specializing in Āyurvedic acupuncture. For those who feel critically ill and seek treatment, I offer this freely because I love what I do. Swāmījī was with us in the UK Parliament in 2017. It has been a long time, so my humble request is for Swāmījī to please take a long weekend and give darśan to us in the United Kingdom. Thank you so much. My dear red praṇāms to our beloved Gurudev, His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Maheśvarānand, Gurujī Siddhāpīṭa Paramparā. Namaskār and good evening to all present and those watching Swāmījī TV. We are pleased to have Amarjī Jī, Swāmījī's old friend and devotee, among us. This morning we discussed surrendering and letting go. Now, with Gurudev's blessings, we will speak a little about Viveka (discernment), for all knowledge comes from him. I will share a short story. Once, a monk, a sādhu, a guru, had disciples who were full of thoughts and restless—as we all can be, always thinking. One restless disciple asked, "Gurudev, my head is always busy; I wish to calm it." The next day, they went to a jungle with many trees and monkeys. Among them was one very restless monkey. Gurujī told the disciple, "Look at that monkey and tell me what you see." The disciple observed that this monkey was snatching food, like bananas, from all the others, disturbing everyone. Then Gurujī gave the disciple a banana and told him to hold it and see what the monkey would do. The monkey tried to snatch it. The disciple, using his wits, moved his hand this way and that to avoid the monkey. This continued until both were tired. Gurujī then said, "Now, put the banana on the floor." As soon as he did, the monkey came peacefully, took the banana, sat down, and ate it calmly. It is similar in our heads. So many things happen, and we try to avoid them by "moving the banana around," which does not help. The easiest option is to let go, put it down, and allow the mind to become peaceful. This is what Gurudev teaches through yoga and meditation. What helps slow the mind is meditation, sādhanā, anuṣṭhāna, Mālā, Japa, and Guru Bhakti. These help calm our restlessness. When the mind is peaceful, we can be in the present moment, enjoy the beautiful satsaṅg, and be with Gurudev. The restlessness fades. When fewer thoughts run in your head, you have less stress and worry, and you reside more in bliss. The chanting that happens is not done by me; it is Mahāprabhujī, it is Gurudev who is doing it. All is good. I remember Gurudev telling me in my childhood that whenever I sang, Swāmījī would give me a chocolate. Everything is given when you have a pure heart and when you ask Him. That is the beauty of a Master. Again, with Niṣvartabhā (without expectations), just surrender and tell Him, "Gurudev, you do what you are doing." The point is to find that renunciation, to be able to give up everything and surrender to the Master, whatever may come. Thank you so much. Thank you, Gurudev. Devdīveśwar Mahādev Kī Jai, Śrīdīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī Jai, Hindu Dharma Samrāṭ Paramahaṁsvāmī Śrī Mādhavānand Purūjī Satguru Dev Bhagavān Kī Jai, Viśvagurū Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Paramahaṁsvāmī Śrī Maheśvarānand Purūjī Gurudev Kī Jai. First, sādhgus of Āyurveda, everybody, they are coming here. Coming here, we see that every day, day is in the heart. This heart that we have is very great. We are coming here, so many of us, and there is more and more greatness in our heart. We know that in these ashrams, many, many arts... When I came here, I let this, this, and the whole here... that here is my, or our, ashram. And so we are all becoming, and we are thinking this everywhere. One thing is this: we are always very good at what we call the colors. The colors should always be yours once a year. Whenever you go home, and of course you can have some color here and there, many of our people are all with these colors. And so, in this, there are two: the one always, and this is a Swami, so that we will do nothing under, but we are all like this and this and that. And that when we, in our heart, and you are also coming, and you will, you will be very great always. And others, you are, you are exactly also, that you are very great. And always, but we say morning, early morning, we are just telling it like this. Mother, father, brothers, and the Swamis. And there is the Disciple Swāmī, and it is Swāmī that is giving us what He is. You know how much they have given me, and they are giving me very much, that when I came here, and this, and all people who came here, they are at home like Swāmīs. I will tell you how many good disciples I have, and they are like my brothers, and they are the same, they are like a master. And when I told him, Dad says, "Dad, they are all, they are going very great from here." I will tell you like this, that my heart, my heart is there, and I will tell you now that. And so, everyone, but mostly I know my—they are my disciples. Please, can you stand this up? Yes. You, and also all, all... all families, yes, your families. Yes. Yes. Yes, get out, get out. So, that is how much, my brothers, my sisters, my brothers, my every... So, can you, you are, please take who is called, yeah, please. So, all of these, my disciples, they are like my brothers, they are my children, they are my friends. I am always in every and everywhere, and so if you come near to them, yes, so I will come here near. Please come here, but now stand up. Yeah, come near, yes. Yes, everybody, everybody, all, yes, standing, standing... yeah. And now you can tell first from this here, our Gurujī. And now stand here and look that side. Yes, look there. Yes, thank you. Yeah, yeah, thank you. Thank you, and thank you. This is the very best. You see that? All you see, everybody, anywhere you come, and they are always looking, and he, "This is very much my, and, and this is my, yeah." And when I was there with them, then he was coming very like this and looking, "Yes, yes." He has been with me since I was a little boy. Very great, very good. Thank you, thank you. Thank you very much, thank you. And there are the same many, many of my disciples. They are my brothers, father, wherever you went, my disciples, they are great. So, all they said when they said this, see, from this time they said, "Yes, I will not do anything against these things." I will not take out, like eating these other different things, and not eating, making, but best, brothers, kakos. So in my living, I’m taking you all, all my disciples here, all should be like this. And the next thing will be okay, okay? Thank you. So now, I don’t know, yes, please? Yeah, or please? Yeah, yeah, I like the label.
