Go to satsang

The path of faith is proven through direct experience and sustained by satsaṅg. A master provides simple initial practices, like a mantra. This must be done with heart and soul to feel the connection and blessing. The first step of sincere practice opens the soul to the master's consciousness. Faith in the master's guidance is essential. External circumstances are not a measure of spiritual merit, as illustrated by a parable. Two neighbors received their wages; one spent his on worldly enjoyment in kusaṅg and found a gold coin. The other attended satsaṅg but broke his leg. A sage explained the one in kusaṅg was destined for a vast treasure but received only one coin due to his company. The one in satsaṅg was destined to be killed, but his karma was mitigated to a broken leg. Never compare fortunes or judge the path by temporary outcomes. Satsaṅg opens the heart center and unites the soul with the highest consciousness. The quickest way to God is through bhakti, devotion, growing with the innocence of a child. Unconditional love for the master automatically extends to all creation. When acting for the master, close your eyes and trust he is with you.

"When you say the mantra with heart and soul, you feel the love and blessing of the Master."

"Never look at what others have or do not have. Never compare."

Om Śrī Lakṣmī Mahādeva Kī Jai, Devādu Deva Devaśvara Mahādeva Kī Jai, Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jai, Hindu Dharma Samrāṭ Paramahaṁsa Svāmī Śrī Mādhavānanda Purujī Satguru Deva Bhagavān Kī Jai, Viśva Guru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Paramahaṁsa Svāmī Śrī Maheśvara and Purujī Gurudeva Kī Jai. Salutations to the Cosmic Self. Salutations to Śrī Lakṣmī Śrī Prīt Paramparā. My Daṇḍavat Praṇāms to our beloved Gurudev, His Holiness, Viśvaguru, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvarovi, Maheśvarānanda Purījī. Om Namah Nārāyaṇa to all the sannyāsīs present here. And Hari Om to all of you. Thank you so much to our beloved Swāmī Avatār Purījī for inviting me here. Meeting him was for me like the first time I met our beloved Gurudev Viśva Gurujī. His soul is so connected; I saw it in his eyes. He is blessed by all our beloved masters of the lineage, and he has a very great work to do. We must support him however we can. I have been with Viśvagurujī for about 35 years now. I came, like many others—Umapurījī, Swāmī Śāntī—to understand what yoga truly is. I had practiced yoga before and had large groups, but when I came to Viśvagurujī, the first thing he gave me was a mantra. I did not know what a mantra was. I asked others, and they explained it is good, you repeat it, it affects your consciousness, cleanses you, and so on. I did not understand very much, but I thought if I have the possibility, I must prove it first, then I can say if it is good or not. I remember when I first went to him, everyone laughed at me. I arrived with a huge offering of fruit and flowers; they were all sitting on the floor, the flowers fell, and they laughed. I had saved 1,000 euros—it was all I had—and I offered it. People might say, "You are crazy, what are you doing?" I did not know, but I felt it had to be. I swear to you, it was the best thing that could happen to me. The Master first gives you simple things to do, like a mantra. You must realize it, but you also have to do it. It is not enough to just receive it and put the mālā aside. When I took that first step, it felt so good. I felt the mantra, I felt the connection. When you say the mantra with heart and soul, you feel the love and blessing of the Master. This is the first connection, the first union you have. You open your soul and heart and feel the frequency of his consciousness. It is very important to believe what he says. Yesterday, someone asked me about the difference between satsaṅg and kusaṅg. They said, "One person went to satsaṅg and had an accident. Another was in a kusaṅg and won the lottery. Why?" I recall a story from our beloved Viśva Gurujī. There were two neighbors in India. One went to satsaṅg whenever he could. The other preferred kusaṅg. At the beginning of the month, they received their wages. The one who liked kusaṅg said, "Come, let's spend this money on alcohol and enjoyment." The other replied, "No, I will go to satsaṅg with my wife and children." The first said, "You are crazy! We live only once; you must enjoy life." So they went their separate ways. The one in kusaṅg spent all his money on drink and gambling. Drunk, on his way home, he found a large gold coin shining on the ground. He took it, so he returned home with double the money. The one who went to satsaṅg had a lovely time singing bhajans and speaking about God. But as he left the ashram, he broke his leg. A doctor had to be called, and he was finally brought home. The next day, they met. The neighbor from the kusaṅg said, "Look what happened to me! I was out all night and I even have this coin left over." The other said, "Look what happened to me! I was in satsaṅg and I broke my leg." They decided to go to a ṛṣi, who in those days knew the past and future. They sat before the master and asked him to explain. The master first said to the one from the kusaṅg: "In your destiny was a huge treasure. With all that money, you would not have had to work your whole life. But because you were in a kusaṅg, from that great treasure, only one coin remained for you." Then he looked at the other and said: "You know, in your destiny, in your karma, tonight on the street you had to take home, there was someone who would have killed you. But because you were in satsaṅg, your karma changed. You only broke your leg. You did not go to that place at that time, and you remain alive, happy with your family." Sometimes it is difficult for us to understand such things. Why does one have so much, another so little? Never look at what others have or do not have. Never compare. We must help each other with love. We must have satsaṅg as much as we can, for only through satsaṅg does your Anāhata chakra open, your soul vibrate, and it becomes one with the highest consciousness of your Master. That is my little message. Remember devotion. In the twelfth chapter of the Bhagavad Gītā, Arjuna asks Lord Kṛṣṇa, "What is the best way to come to God?" Kṛṣṇa says every way is good, but bhakti, devotion, is the quickest and easiest way. Bhakti is like being a little child. A child grows and learns slowly—a language, everything—naturally. To become a bhakta is the most beautiful way because you grow with innocence, like a child. You do not just learn it; you become it through unconditional love, through this devotion. I think this is the best way to be one with our Gurudev: to develop unconditional love in your heart. When you love your Master, you automatically love everyone and all creation. I do not want to speak more, as I think Viśvagurujī would say, "Don't let Yamunā speak, because when she begins, it never ends." I never prepare a speech. Sometimes in other places, if someone important cannot come, they ask me to speak. I go and speak. Why? Because I want to speak with the soul, and I am sure my Viśvagurujī is with me. I want only to be an instrument for the light of my masters. I am sure he guides me to speak what is needed in the moment. So I am not afraid or nervous. I always remember what he told us: "Do not worry. Papa will make it. If you do not know something or are perhaps wrong, do not be afraid, for the Father will make it good again for you." If you are sure the Master is always with you, you do not have to be afraid—though of course you must act responsibly. If you have to do something in the name of your Viśvaguru, close your eyes, and he will be with you. We have so much from him: mantra, satsaṅg, and many things. And now we have a very great gift—our Avatār Purījī. I wish him from the deepest of my heart and soul all success. I know he will have it. Thank you so much.
