The True Pilgrimage

The true pilgrimage is to the Guru's feet.

The aim of all pilgrimage is where the Guru lives. At those feet, disciples cross the river of wisdom. Reaching that presence brings immense bliss. The Guru comes to liberate, not merely to provide comfort. Longing for this is essential. Reading the Guru's books reveals our inner qualities and how to change. Purifying oneself brings one nearer to one's true, blissful nature. As consciousness clarifies, understanding deepens. The direct way is true love and devotion. Through mercy and practice, one reaches the aim. All pilgrimages are at the Guru's Lotus Feet.

"Knowledge is found at the Gurudeva’s doorstep."

"Forget worldly pleasures. Only then can you meet God."

Our next bhajan will be "Guru Caraṇome Arasatatiratahe." The aim of all pilgrimage is where the Guru is living. This is written in the Vedas. At His feet are the true disciples, and there we can cross the river of wisdom, the Gaṅgā of wisdom. Those who reach the highest experiences go there, and they teach the difference between reality and illusion. Sometimes it seems we are near to that. When we met our Gurudeva, we somehow started to understand. In our soul, in our inner being, is so much joy. Yet, on this path, sometimes we do not know how to go on, or even why, or for what purpose. The world is also not so bad. But something brought us to our Gurudeva. We found him, or better, he found us. I think we have been on this way for lifetimes. To come there brings immense happiness, joy, and bliss. We are not yet able to fully experience that, but when we are near to Gurudeva, we feel something. We feel his prāṇa, his radiance, and that nourishes us. But that should not be all; it is not enough. He comes to us to bring us there too, so that we can reach this aim. Not only to be in His presence and take something from Him, but He comes to liberate us. Of course, this must be the longing in our self. For that, it is always good to read Swāmījī’s books again and again. These hidden powers in humans are described. It is written there what is going on in me regarding human qualities, both sides—the good and the not so good—and also how we can change. All is written there. So when I face some problems in me, I can look into that book. There it stands, the side from which I am suffering now, and how I can change. We are always getting blessings. You see, there is rain coming; it’s blessing us. Our mind is filled with happiness, joy, and peace. When you are with your Gurudeva and you follow his words, we started this. There was in us this wish, very strong. Yes, we want to reach that. And now we will do it, step by step. When our mind has accepted the Guru, you will never praise another one, because he is the form of God. So the real pilgrimage place is where the Guru is living. What should also be clear to us is that all that we free in our self from, all that we get rid of, brings us nearer to our self, and our self is full of bliss. Eternal happiness, joy, love, unconditional love, wisdom: this is our true nature. Everything we are liberating from ourselves, these problems, it is like a shadow which will dissolve. It brings us nearer to ourself. That means also that in each moment I am better conscious, I am more conscious. Everything that I dissolve, I then understand better. It is like cleaning a dirty glass; I can better look through. Like that, it is. The next bhajan is "Sabha Kucha Deva Data, Deep Dayal." When we are purifying ourselves, we are more in love with our Guru lineage. Here, Paramahaṁsvāmī Mādhvānandajī is praising his Master, Śrī Mahāprabhujī. We know that Mahāprabhujī is this eternal light, the light in the universe. He can make impossible things possible. When we pray to Mahāprabhujī, He will take our karmas away. He will give us wisdom, all that we need. He will give us this light of the Ātmā. In meditation, He will show us what we can reach. With the practice of yoga, and in meditation, He will enlighten us on what we can achieve. We will also get worldly success, because nobody in His shelter has to be hungry. When we are really, honestly, from our heart, believing in Him, He will also help us to be in the beauty of mind, thoughts, and words. Let us understand his bliss. He will take away all sorrows. Through His mercy, we will reach the aim. There may be problems, but that makes us stronger. He will give us mental strength and lead us to success. All that we will do in His name will be successful. He is the protector. As we know, all the saints, the holy persons, are without any selfish need. The direct way to Him is true love. Holī Gurujī said, "I am the happiest one, because Mahāprabhujī is protecting me." Our practice will be successful with our devotion. Sabah Kucs Devedata. The next bhajan is Śrī Kākabhaṭṭisthī. It is Holī Gurujī’s writing, using letters of the alphabet to bring understanding for the meaning of that letter, the word. It is, of course, going to our respected, merciful Lord of Light, to Mahāprabhujī. Holī Gurujī says with folded hands, "Remember the Lord with every breath." All glory to the Gurū Dev. Please deliver me your knowledge. To the Guru Dev, even Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Maheśa are serving. To repeat your name, to remember it, will bring all prosperity. All will be happy. You are the supreme God. Please give me the chance to serve your lotus feet. With meditation upon you, we will be liberated. He then explains, for example, the letter K: do honest work, do not bring bitterness in your life. Honest work, karma. D, always live upon truth. D, always think of truth. Do not be afraid. Live fearlessly. N, the human body is supreme. You will recognize the Lord through this body only. Be, renounce the wrong actions. This will open the doors of your fortune. We, Y, Y, X, Y, Y, yeah? Forget worldly pleasures. Only then can you meet God. Oṁ, do not lose your heart. You will not get such a chance again. Knowledge is found at the Gurudeva’s doorstep. Improve your life with this. The virtuous men understand and sing this bhajan. Those who regularly read this bhajan will be happy in everything. Śrī Holīgurujī sings this true story and bows his head to all the saints. Oṁ Boli Asi Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, Kī Jai, Śrī Śrī Alakhpurījī Samaha Deva, Kī Jai, Dīvālī Deva Deveśvara Mahādeva, Kī Jai, Hindu Dharma Samrāṭ Svāmī Madhavānandajī Bhagavān, Kī Jai, Viśvaguru Paramahaṃsvāmī Maheśvarānanda Jīguru Deva, Kī Jai, Śrī Pūjā Oṁ Bulyā Siddhit Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān, Kī Jai, Satta Guru Svāmī Madhavānandjī Bhagavān, Kī Jai. The next bhajan is called Mana Ratnam. O my mind, continuously repeat the name of Gurū Dev. Use this possibility, what you have in your human body. All in the Holy Scriptures is written: take away all your fear. It will take away your fear, your doubts, and your illusions. All pilgrimages, all places are at the Guru’s Lotus Feet, at the Guru Dev’s Lotus Feet. Through His mercy, we will be able to cross Māyā. The boat for this is satsaṅg—to be with people together, talking about truth. Again, we are getting blessings. All his words are always with deep meaning. Through the grace of Gurudev, we can recognize the Ātmā. Lala Nanjī recognized the highest Self, the Brahman, in his Guru’s form. The next bhajan will be the praising of the land India, "Dhanya, Dhanya, Pāratābhūmi." Mahāprabhujī incarnated in this land, in this country. Mahāprabhujī is the benevolent one for the whole world, the ocean of luck and bliss. Many saints have lived here, many high dignitaries, politicians, other leaders. They have lived and worked in this country, in Bhārat. The Himalayas are the head of India—the place of eternal snow, always snow, like a crown, like a golden crown. Gaṅgā and Yamunā, these holy rivers, are washing the feet of India. Compared with the sky, with Indra and Pramaloka, the glory of India is higher, is bigger. All gods honor the land of India, the beauty of this land. This beauty is bigger than the oceans. Jadan is the temple, the gate to God, from God to this world. Mahāprabhujī is the spiritual light of India. My thousands of praṇāms to this country, India. Today, they are going very quickly. Time is running. And we will chant again, Juga Juga Jīvo Maheśvarānandajī, to praise our Guru Dev, that he could find us, leading us and protecting us. For so many years, we are thankful from the depths of our heart. Yuga Yuga Jīvo Maheśvarānanda. Sukha Sukha Jī, Oṁ Maheśvara Nandājī, Oṁ Maheśvara Nandājī.
