The highest religion is service to the needy and poor. Karma yoga, action performed selflessly for all beings, burns the seeds of past karma. The future rests with children, who are like clay shaped by parents. Parents must provide spiritual education, love, and guidance, not merely toys or wealth. A capable child needs no inheritance; a spoiled child will destroy one. The young must forge their own path with parental support. Contemporary education often fails to teach harmony with nature, leading to pollution and climate change. The new generation must learn to live organically and protect the environment for all creatures.

"Your children don’t need your toys. Your children need your love."

"Education is that which makes a human a human, to understand and live in harmony with nature."

Filming location: Dungog, Australia

Janaka Viddhehi. Good evening to everyone. God Śrī Kṛṣṇa said in the Bhagavad Gītā, "Arjuna, Yoga kāraṇa śukōṣlaṁ." Your yogasādhanā will be successful through karma. If you practice karma yoga, then it is said: yoga agni, karma dagdhāni. Through the fire of that yoga, all the seeds of bad karmas will be burned. Śiva, Śiva dharma hi, mahān dharma hai. The highest religion is service. Dīn dukhyo kī Śeva, service to the needy ones, those who have pain, the poor, and those who have no one, the meek ones. To serve them is the highest principle, the highest religion. So, for our own family, for our own children, for our own self, everyone is working hard. But to do this Śeva for the common benefit, for the benefit of all creatures and nature, that’s called real karma yoga. Thank you for doing half an hour of beautiful Karmayoga. Now, you can also see the kangaroos very clearly. They were hidden behind this weed or bush, but now you can see them clearly. Thank you very much. Now, our juniors have prepared a beautiful program for us. You know, especially all these juniors, they listen to satsaṅg so carefully. Every word that I speak, they try to understand. They don’t make noise. They are not naughty. They are not playing with different toys. They always listen very carefully to what Swāmījī is saying, and they respect all of you very much. If they spoke during the program, they would disturb you. So, though they are very young—some don’t understand what spirituality is—they respect you. Similarly, we should also listen and watch very carefully and motivate them for their future life. They have a program for us, so we welcome them all. Ashtanga? Okay, Ashtanga comes. She’s not Ashtanga, she’s just Sāṅgam. But you say Ashtanga. Ashtanga is the eight-folded yoga, Rāja yoga. That’s why, as a mix-up, her name Saṅgam always says, "Yes, not Ashtanga." Thank you. Well, the Australian dialect is like the Rajasthani dialect. You know, you speak Rajasthani. You think you speak pure Hindi, but in reality, it is Rajasthani, no? So, there are some Indians who speak very good Hindi, but I talk some words in Rajasthani, and then they don’t understand. So, exactly like the Australian. English is not English; it is the Australian English that’s called dialect, mixed with Aborigines and so on. But of course, it’s beautiful. It means more link to the ancient culture; that’s very good. So, Aṣṭāṅga. Sangam, please. "Swamiji, we have prepared this program for you to thank you." "Thank you." "Thank you." A beautiful bhajan from Swāmī Gajananjī. Thank you. For the next one, the children would like to sing 'Door of My Heart' through both verses, and then they’d like to invite everybody to join them to sing both verses through once. We will see. Okay. Because when we sing, the children will be pressed down? Oh, but they have to do it once by themselves first? And then we will stop. Will you join them for once, too? Yeah, next year. That’s very good. Yes. "Lead us from darkness to light, from death to immortality. May all beings be healthy. May all beings dwell in peace. May all beings attain oneness. May all beings attain fulfillment. May there be happiness in the whole world. Salutations to the omnipresent Lord Śiva, O giver of prosperity to all beings, make us free from the bonds of death, like ripe fruit dropping from the tree, may we never again forget our immortal nature, I am not the doer, Prabhudeep is the doer, Mahā Prabhudeep is the only doer, Aum, peace, peace, peace." They have a painting that they’ve done of Bhīṣma. But they are chanting now in Sanskrit? Yes. Okay, but now they will chant. True? Okay. I’m curious. Oh, my God! Look! Go a little to this side. You come in the front. My God! Beautiful. Come in front of the camera. Sāvitrī, go up. Look there. Very good. Thank you. Okay. Beautiful painting. Oh, roll it. Thank you, children. Now, I must open my treasure. Thank you, children. Now I must open my treasure. A roll? Make it a nice roll. So, children, thank you very much. Do you have something still? What? Aha. Thank you, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva. Very good. "Oṁ, Oṁ, Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya Haramadi." Very good. Next also, oh, "world peace is our answer. Love from Kiran, my God, to Swāmījī from Bhakta." Beautiful, true enlightenment, or world peace. Look, can you see all how beautiful? And they work so hard, holding the hand. Thank you. Oh, Tannenbaum. Oh, Tannenbaum. Not the green. Beautiful. Thank you. For me, all? Yes. Also, not only green, but you are white with the snow. So next one, thank you. They stop, my God. So third one, next. Oh, my aeroplane is already here. I thought it was garbage. Very good. All right, light shining. I will run on my door. Beautiful. This is for all of you. Thank you. Now I have to open my heart. So take one, one, okay? By line by line, okay? Thank you. Thank you, Sāvitrī. Thank you, Arjuna, come. Thank you. Yes. Thank you. Thank you. Here’s your chocolate. Look. Okay. Thank you. Who didn’t get, children? My stars should not flow away. Beautiful is my treasure. Okay. We will make pictures. Children, it’s the culture of tomorrow. In which direction children go, in that direction will go the country, in that direction will go humanity. Children are like a lump of clay, and parents are the artists. They can make a beautiful figure, form, pot, or anything. They can make such a beautiful art that people will preserve it, though it is from the earth, from the clay, but it can be priced at millions of dollars. That is the wisdom, the art, the knowledge of the artist. Similarly, parents are those artists, and they should give their best to their children to develop them in such a way that in every aspect they will be the best: good, wise, learned, free thinkers, and without any violence. It is said that parents who cannot give spiritual education to their children have no right to give birth to children. Because they bring this soul into the human body and leave them in darkness. Therefore, for children, it is very important to have the love of the parents. We say your children don’t need your toys. Don’t buy so many toys for children. Your children need your love. And your children don’t need your money. They need your wisdom. Putra saputra tokya dhan sanchay, or putra kaputra tokya dhan sanchay. If the child is good, learned, wise, and capable, then, oh parents, for what are you collecting money and wealth? Your child is capable and will earn to lead a good life. If your child is abusing drugs, if your child is spoiled, if your child is in criminal activities, then, for what are you saving and earning money? Whatever you will earn, your child will destroy everything. So if it is good, you need not save anything. If it is bad, you need not save anything. It is said, śer, sāput, and sant. It begins with a three 'S'. Śer means the tiger, sāput means good child, sant means the saint. They don’t walk on the path. The path they make their own way, they make their own way. Did you ever see the tiger walking from Sydney to dung on the highway or running on the highway? The tiger, its power goes through the forest jungle, finds the way. Similarly, your children, they will find their way for the future, but they need it present: your guidance, your love, your protection, your understanding. It needs equal love of the father and mother, and to be together. Father and mother mean to be together if they have children. If they don’t have children, they still should live together. But if they separate, is their karma also there? There’s a lot of water. Bring some towels. Don’t worry, it’s only water. Therefore, now is the time in the world for protection for the children. You know, in many, many places around the world, children are misused; children are suppressed. Children have no proper education, many, many things. So there is an urgent need, an urge for the children’s guidance. You know that Oṁ Śrī Svāmī Madhavānanda World Peace Council is organizing every year a world peace conference or a summit. In 2010, this year, it will be in the beautiful city Prague, Czech Republic. Yes, I know the world is beautiful, but if you want to see the beautiful hall, house, street, come to Prague. It is known as the golden city of Europe. Nothing can be compared. For example, where I have my lecture, only that hall, if you come to my lecture, Australians, you will not look to me. All the time, you will look at how beautiful the hall is. And underground sixth floor, beautiful. But that’s not that one. One, the more buildings, and there are more beautiful. If you come to Vienna, you will fall in love with Vienna city. You know why Swāmījī is staying in Vienna? Because of that culture, architecture, culture, the artist, the buildings, the foundation of the buildings’ walls are two and a half meters wide, and then one meter, 90 centimeters thick, 80 centimeters thick, last floor, 70 centimeters thick. So even your neighbor will knock with the hammer, and you will hardly hear it. And here, in your buildings, in the basement, you flush the toilet, and the third floor, everybody knows. It’s not a negative critique, I’m just saying. And the third, the beautiful Budapest. Just make a little walk along the bank of the River Danube or through the city of Budapest, what the buildings are, what the statues are. So, three cities: Prague, Vienna, Budapest. If you have seen nothing, if you have not seen this, then you haven’t seen Europe. And finally, Oṁ Āśram Jadan, if you have seen the three cities but not Oṁ Āśram, you have seen nothing. That’s it. So, though it is a material thing, it should be something for the human psyche, for human consciousness, for human feelings, for human health, for harmony, for peace. Something that you can create, which is not only for the humans, but for the entire environment, for other creatures, and for the vegetation, rivers, lakes, and oceans. You know, nowadays almost all the rivers are polluted, all the lakes are polluted, and also the ocean is polluted. How many plastic bags and polythenes, with the canalizations and with the ships and with the tourism, are flowing in the ocean? And how many ocean lives die in these plastic bags? A lot of, lot of, lot of. I have heard that, I don’t know if it is true or not, that I cannot say. I only heard it, but now the Americans are importing the Australian honeybees because many honeybees have died and have had some illnesses due to this pollution. Same time, also in New Zealand, a country which is thought to be a beautiful, beautiful place with nature, but the bees are dying, and they are also now importing the Australian bees. Now, this is not a question of importing or not importing mādhūka honey. The most famous honey of New Zealand is gone now. Can you imagine a world without honey? It will be very funny. No more after-marriage moon honey, no honeymoon. It doesn’t matter how much humans can try to develop technology, but they cannot create that honey, produce that honey, what this small creature, God’s creation, that little bee, can collect and you enjoy. But if the pollution is going on like this, and bees die, you can’t bring more bees from anywhere. Many butterflies, many birds, many wildlife, many insects, many different creatures disappear from the world, from our earth, because we humans are so selfish and so ignorant that we don’t take care of our world. Recently, someone told me in, I think, New Zealand, that they put in the tomatoes gene manipulation from the jellyfish deep in the water. How did people come to know that in London, one lady was eating tomatoes, and she was allergic to fish? She became ill and came to the hospital, and they said, "You are allergic, but did you eat?" She said, "Tomato," but they said, "No, your allergy is a fish allergy." And they found then that these tomatoes, big, nice, that they can remain long, fresh with these fish hormones or whatever, I don’t know what. Now, you study for so many years. You waste the money for so many years. Your parents had to wait so many years. And what? You call it a higher education, and one after another degree, and you work like this. That is not knowledge, and that is not education. Education is that which makes a human a human, to understand and live in harmony with nature, to accept the seasons, to accept their yearly time: winter, spring, summer, monsoon, fall, the autumn, and to respect it. Mahāprabhujī said, "Don’t go against nature, otherwise nature will take its revenge." And you have to suffer the consequences. Similarly, now the whole world is threatened, and they said the danger to the world is not terrorism, but climate change. And why did it happen? We humans. So I hope that the new generation, these children, will realize and help others grow. And you all parents who are listening, my request to you is that please educate your children to love nature and try to lead an organic, healthy, happy life with a good relationship with nature. So next year in Prague, the beautiful golden city, we’ll be under Śrī Svāmī Madhavānanda and the World Peace Council, the World Peace Summit about children, children’s future. The future of the children on this planet, the youth and the future. What are you giving to your children? So, your children should send us the articles and photos, and the youth will be invited. Till 25 years, you are as a youth, and you can deliver a nice lecture, a nice message, and the reality of what is happening and what children don’t want. Talk with your friends, children, about what your friends mostly want and what you can’t do because of the law of the country, or your parents, or certain circumstances. You have to put this in front of the elderly people, to the seniors, that this is the problem of the youth, that we can’t go in the direction which we would like to go. We don’t want war, we don’t want these chemicals, we don’t want all this. So, thank you for our beautiful flowers, our little children. I pray to Mahāprabhujī for them. May they be happy, healthy, harmonious, and have a very bright future. God bless them, and wish you all the best. And I congratulate you, parents, that your children are really so beautiful and so great, and they are so brave. Thank you. Deepnālayaṁ Bhagavānakī, Deveśvara Mahādevakī, Sanātana, Oṁ Śānti, Śānti. Tomorrow, our morning lecture, which was announced for 9 o’clock, but due to some organizational and weather conditions, it will not be at 9 o’clock, but it will be at 11 o’clock. Thank you, also our dear friends around the world. I know it’s late for you, but you can watch it again the next day, as it will be replayed. Good night and good morning.
