Guru Purnima 2025 - Celebration from Om Ashram

Guru Purnima marks the day to honor the spiritual teacher who dispels darkness and reveals the divine light.

The teacher’s darshan is celebrated once a year, yet the teacher remains constantly present through given knowledge, mantra initiation, and the path shown. Human birth is rare and obtained with difficulty; the world is an ocean of sorrow. The teacher acts as a mediator, holding the seeker’s hand to unite with the supreme. The syllable “Gu” means darkness of ignorance, and “Ru” means light; the teacher removes worldly darkness and bestows spiritual illumination. On this occasion, a resolve must be taken to abandon past misdeeds and harm no one through mind, action, or speech. Love for all beings must be cultivated. The mantra given by the teacher must be practiced daily for light to enter life. Satsang, bhajan singing, and chanting Om circulate divine energy and remove mental impurities. Essential human qualities include knowledge, character, endurance, charity, self-restraint, and virtue. Religion is a garden of diverse flowers, each with its own fragrance, offering harmony and peace. Gathering physically demonstrates devotion beyond digital convenience. The teacher’s path leads from mortality to immortality, from falsehood to truth. All who follow with faith cross the worldly ocean. The teacher came to every land to liberate seekers. Receiving such a master makes life blessed.

“Gu-kāra means darkness. What does Gurudev do? He takes out the light from this world’s darkness and unites us with Paramātmā.”

“I take the determination from today that I will not harm anyone with any kind of mind, karma, or promise.”

In this Satsaṅg Sabhā, I would like to welcome all the devotees and all the dharma-anurāgīs who have come to this Satsaṅg Sabhā. First of all, I would like to wish you all the best of luck for this Pavan Avsar, Śrī Guru Pūrṇimā, and I would like to welcome you all from this Āśram. We are all very fortunate that on this auspicious occasion, we are sitting together in the presence of the Pūjya Gurudev and organizing this divine satsaṅg. The place where we are sitting is not an ordinary place. The first thing is that where the Gurudev resides, only the Paramātmā resides, because the Gurudev resides in the form of the Paramātmā. So understand this: in front of us, on the occasion of this Guru Pūrṇimā, Bhagavān is also present, and in the presence of Bhagavān, we are all taking advantage of that Paramadīpya Satsaṅg. Sajjano, ye pāvan avsar Guru Pūrṇimā kā hai, aur jaisā ki āp sab jānte haiṅ ki Guru Pūrṇimā kyoṅ manāī jātī hai. Hum sabhī lok jānte hī haiṅ, lekin vāstavik rūp meṅ Guru Pūrṇimā hamārī yadi sārthak karanī hai, tab kab hotī hai? Ek to param pavitra bhāv yah hai, kī sāl meṅ ek bār hum sabhī ko pūjya Gurudev Bhagavān ke darśanon kā lābh hotā hai. Pūrī sāl pariṇām hum intazār karte haiṁ, pratikṣā karte haiṁ ke Gurudev ke darśan kab hoṅge, lekin ye to sākṣāt Gurudev ke darśan hote hī haiṁ is din. Lekin pratidīn bhī Gurudev ke darśan hote haiṁ. Gurudev hamāre sāth mein viraj mān hote haiṁ. Tan, Man, Bichār, har prakār se Gurudev hamāre sāth mein rehte haiṅ. To vah hai hamāre pās mein: Gurudev kā diyā huā jñāna, Gurudev kī devī mantra dīkṣā, aur Gurudev kā diyā huā mantra. Gurudev ke dvārā prāpt jo sādhanā haiṅ, Gurudev ke dvārā prāpt jo mārga darśana haiṅ. Isse hum sadev anubhav kar sakte hain. Sadgurudev hamesha hamare saath mein rahte hain. To sarva pratham, yeh hamare jeevan ka ek dhev hona chahiye, ke jis kisi bhi sajjan ne Gurudev ko dharan kiya hain, to Gurudev ke bataye hue marg ka anusharan kare. Is sansar mein. Ye manuṣya jīvan hī haiṁ baḍī kaṭhintā se prāpt hotā haiṁ, kyō ki chaurāsī lākh yonī hoṁ mese ek manuṣya yonī aisī haiṁ. Kyā karnā cāhiye, kyā nahīṁ karnā cāhiye? Dharma kyā hai, adharma kyā hai? Sahī kyā hai, galat kyā hai? Itnā jñāna hotā haiṁ, lekin iske sāth hī, this world is from the ocean, because what is the world? Dukha, Layam, Aśaś, Vātam. This world is the home of sorrow. Who is the one who crosses this ocean? Sadgurudev Bhagavān. So the servant who is the Sadgurudev Bhagavān, who is the servant of Bhagavān, then we can cross the world from the ocean. That is why we all have accepted Gurudev in our lives. But we don’t have to accept him just for one day. Gurudev ke vachan kya hai, ki aap apne jīvan ko sundar banāo, sāttvik banāo, manvichār se pavitra bano, pratyek vyakti ke prati prem rakho. “Oṁ saha nāv avatu, saha nau bhunaktu, saha vīryaṃ karavāvahai, tejasvināv adhītam astu, mā vidviṣāvahai.” The Vedas and Upaniṣads also say this, and Gurudev Bhagavān also gives the message through this medium, that we should all live together. We all eat together, i.e., we all attain life together. Sahavīryaṃ karavāvahai — we all attain that supreme element. “Asato mā sad gamaya, tamaso mā jyotir gamaya,” and in death, “mṛtyor mā amṛtaṃ gamaya” — i.e., from that ignorance-like darkness, we go towards light. From death, we go towards amṛtatva. And when can we go? When we attain the connection of the Guru, when we have a Guru in our life, Gurudev’s path is shown to us. The path that Gurudev Bhagavān has shown us, if we follow it with good faith, then certainly we will cross this ocean of saṁsāra. Apne jīvan meṁ bhī santōṣa prāpta kar sakte haiṁ, isliye meṁ punaḥ āpa sabhī ko is gurū pūrṇimā ke pavana avsar kī aur, jo gurū śabda haiṁ is viśvēś par, thōṛā prakāś ḍālūṁgā. Gurū kise kahate haiṁ? Dekho, ek Guru mein do akṣar hain: ‘Gu’ aur ‘Ru’. To Gu-kāra kā artha kyā hotā hai? Andhakāra. Andhakāra kaunsā? Hum sansār mein āye hain, lekin hameṁ gyān nahīṁ hai. Vyāvahārik gyān to hotā hai, kyō ki sansār mein baccā jab choṭā hotā hai, na, skūl meṁ bhejte haiṁ. If our life does not start, then where do we send it? To school, and by sending it to school, we study education and so on. And we get the means to fulfill our stomach. In the world, we get knowledge for behavior, but along with that, we need the same amount of spiritual knowledge. So what does Gurudev do? He takes out the light from the darkness of this world and says, Paramātmā Rūpī Prakāś. What does Gurudev do? Gurudev holds our hand and unites us with Paramātmā. Look, you have seen a lawyer, right? You have to go to the judge, there is a case in the court, so what does the lawyer do? He is a mediator. In the same way, those who unite with Bhagavān, what is Sadgurudev Bhagavān? He is the mediator. He makes us communicate with Bhagavān. If someone does the work of uniting with Paramātmā, then he is Sadgurudev Bhagavān. So we are at the feet of such Sadgurudev Bhagavān. And the knowledge that Gurudev has given us, the guidance that he has given us, that satsaṅg should be present in every one of us in our life. Today satsaṅg is happening. Because love happens when you know its glory. When you do not know the glory of a person, when you do not know the glory of an object, then affection will not arise. Every person desires this. To kyā karnā padegā, bhagavān ke nām kā, jab karnā padegā? Islie Guru Pūrṇimā ke pavanāvasar par, āp sabhī log, kyōṅki jab āte haiṅ, to kuch lenā cāhiye aur kuch denā cāhiye. So surrender your feelings, your mind’s feelings, to the feet of Gurū Dev and take the determination. Gurudev, till today I have done all the misdeeds in life, all the misdeeds. I take the determination from today that I will not harm anyone with any kind of mind, karma, or promise. Se kṣī ko hāne nahīṁ pahūñcāūṅgā, sab se prem karūṅgā, aur nitya prati āpke dvārā diyā gayā jo mantra haiṁ, uskā kyā karūṅgā, jab karūṅgā, tab to āpkā ānā sārthak, guru pūrṇimā manānā sārthak, kyōṅki jīvan mein prakāś tabhī āyegā, jab āpke jīvan mein gurudev ke dvārā diyā gayā mantra kā jāpa hogā. Adhika nahīṁ kahūṁgā, itnā keh karake, punaḥ āpa sabhī ko, is parama pavitra Guru Pūrṇimā ke pavan avasar kī śubha kāmanāye, śubha ānanda se satsaṅga kā lābha lījiye, Gurudeva kā darśana lījiye, aur ārāma se bhajana satsaṅga kā lābha lījiye. Sadgurudev Bhagavān Kī Jai Ho, Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jai Ho, Dev Puruṣa Mahādev Kī Jai Ho, Alakh Puruṣa Mahādev Kī Jai Ho, Mādhav Kṛṣṇa Bhagavān Kī Jai Ho, Viśvaguru Mahāmaṇḍ Sadgurudev Bhagavān Kī Jai Ho. Now, for a few minutes, I will talk in another language also. Aapko to bada diya, lekin hamare Gurudev Bhagavān ke jo śiṣya, sampūrṇa viśva se yāṁ viraj māne, unko bhī, main apne Vāg Puṣpa Purī ke mādhyam se, Gurudev kī caraṇon mein, is Guru Pūrṇimā ke pavanaṁ avsar ke liye, kuch puṣpa saṁarpiṭ karatā hūn. Salutation to the Divine, Om Śrī Alakhpurī Jī, Siddha Pīṭha Paramparā. I would like to bow to His Holiness, beloved Gurudev, Vishwagurujī’s holy feet, and to all our brothers and sisters who are coming here for the divine celebration of Guru Pūrṇimā, and who are sitting near Swāmījī, the member of Parliament and very devotees of our Alakhpurījī Siddha Pīṭha Paramparā, our dear Maṇaklāv Jī and dear Svāmī Avatārapurī Jī, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Svāmī Jñāneśvara Purī Jī and Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Svāmī Phūlīpurī Jī Mahārāj. I would like to say Hari Om to everyone, and happy Guru Pūrṇimā to all the devotees of Mahāprabhujī and Viśvagurujī. It is really the beautiful, divine, spiritual, and great festival that we are celebrating as Guru Pūrṇimā at the spiritual center of yoga and daily life, the Aum Āśram. I would like to welcome all of you to the divine center that Vishwagurujī has created, not only for some people but for the entire world. Those who are coming here are celebrating, dedicating, doing seva, and coming here for human beings and for everybody in the world. I was telling them about Guru Pūrṇimā. Why do we celebrate? We all know what the reason is that we celebrate: that in our life we have a guru. Like we go to school, we also have a teacher. So with that teacher, we get some knowledge for the world and for the requirements of our life or for earning. But, similarly, we also need a spiritual teacher or a spiritual master for self-realization, for eternal happiness. So for that, we have the divine paramparā, Om Śrī Alakhpurījī, Siddha Pīṭh Paramparā, and the divine, the greatest, great master, Viśvagurūjī. We have got him, but not only have we got him. As I think, or as I feel, he was coming to each and everyone, and he was coming to you, and he was bringing you towards the divine light. He was coming to Europe, to each and everybody’s house, or everybody’s town, or everybody’s country, and he was finding us to liberate us, or to get self-realization, or to become a spiritual person. So we are all blessed ones, we have the great, great master in our life, and we are following him. Thank you for coming to the divine Guru Pūrṇimā program and celebrating. Enjoy the satsaṅg, enjoy the blessing of the Gurudev, enjoy his Gurudev’s blessing, and all of Om Āśram. Thank you. Vishṇabhagavāne Kī Jai Ho, Vishvaguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Pramūjya Sudhru De Bhagavāne Kī Jai Ho, Satyasanātan Dharmakī Jai Ho. Nirbhay raho, niśaṅkā kabhī mat dhāranā.” He is not able to sing, Suratwale, you are the son of my Surat. Tere Satguru Rākhe Lāj, Cintā Mat Karanā. I don’t want to sing in my rāg, I want to sing in your rāg. Our rāga is different, your rāga is different, sing in your rāga. Hello, greetings to all my brothers and sisters. Today we are in Gurudev’s Āśram, in Vīraj Māna. Lekin apan roj sote hain, roj aade padte hain, lekin Guru Mahārāj ke āśram mein bethnā chāhie. Dekho, Kabīr Sāhab bolte hain: “Kabīr soyā jab kyā kare, utī na bhaje Bhagavān. Jab Yam ghar le jāvasī, to paḍī. Rahe kī yāṁ, nisānī motī, ut Kabīrā jāg, orī rasāyan jhaḍī ke arī orī rasāyan lā.” Sit and sleep. All of you, sit down. We will recite Oṁ three times. Sit straight. Who is sitting? Sit straight. Hari. Your awareness, energy. This was Brahmāṇḍe and Piṇḍe. Recite Oṃ three times. Will you do it with me? Yes. And those sitting in front, sit straight. Straighten your back. Please sit straight. If you like, we will chant three times Oṃ. Brahmāṇḍe kī śakti. “Oṁ Auṁ Oṁkāra Vinduśayuktam Nityam Dhyānti Yogīnaḥ Āmadam Vakṣadam Sevadam Oṁkāra Āye Namaḥ Namahā.” Gairā Svās Lejīye. This is a spiritual lecture about Yoga in the Indian tradition. Wake up in the morning and take a deep breath three times. After a bath, after your daily activity, wherever the temple is or the temple of your home, take a deep breath three times in the morning and do a spiritual lecture about Yoga. So that mental and physical problems are removed, in the body, in the whole body, the blood circulates and the whole body becomes your energy. So that’s why we get this energy by reciting the mantra of Oṃ in the morning. Our Śāstra says, “Yeṣāṁ na vidyā na tapo na dhanam na jñānam na śīlam, na guṇo na dharma. Śāstra kehtā hai, ‘Manuṣya rūpeṇa mṛgaś caranti hi.’” Arthāt, kyā kehte hai? Jin ke andar na dayā hai, na śīl hai, na guṇ hai, na vidyā hai, na dharma hai, na caritra hai. Arthāt ye guṇ nahīṁ hai, vo manuṣya ke rūp meṁ, pṛthvī ke upar, hiraṇ ke rūp meṁ, gaja khatā huā ghumtā hai. It is said that in human life, there are six or seven necessary qualities. Vidyā means education. Caritra means character. Tapas means tapasyā, endurance. When someone says something to you, immediately people react. Endure, do not react, digest. We have to digest human life given to us, to digest food, to digest air, and to digest what people give us, knowledge or other words, we have to digest. Religion is not bad. Religion is the beauty of human life. Religion is harmony and peace. They are giving each other harmony and peace. Religion is like that way, like one garden. And there, different plants, different flowers are growing. Each flower has its own aroma, its own quality, its own beauty. Similarly, religion is like this around the world. Wherever you go, you will find different dialogues, different languages, different people, heights, colors, thoughts, people’s knowledge, and languages, but they are the beauty of this earth. So in human life, it is necessary that the six qualities that way the yogīs and ṛṣis and Ancient scriptures are telling the human, “My dear, necessary for your life are: yeṣā vidyā tapo dānaṁ jñānaṁ śīlaṁ guṇaṁ dharmāḥ.” So we are very happy, and Bhagavān kṛpā se āp sabhī ko āj kā din Guru Pūrṇimā kā divas hai. Is lie śāstra kehtā hai: “Bhagavān nāma pāpa nāśaka, masti tattva paramānandaṁ bodhayati.” Manaha ruchi utpadyati, bhagavān kā nāma kā uccāraṇa subaha-sam ko to aviṣaya karnā cāhiye, karnā to roja cāhiye, par subaha-sam karnā cāhiye, jisse ki āpke mana ke vikāra dūra hote hain, ātmā śānti miltī hai, aura hamē adhyātmika patha kī aura āśrita hone kī urjā miltī hai. Amare Gayakone Bhot Achay Gayen, Par Mera Nivedan Hai Ke Ab Achitre Gaate Rehen. Kyu? Vyakhyan Toh Dene Wale Amare Ved Party Bete Hain, Dengi Aur Sunengi. Par Aap Jitne Gayenge Na, You Live International Way, International Level. The Webcast Is Going Around The World. They are all listening because this Swāmījī’s TV is going around the world. This program is thousands, thousands, millions of people. They are listening, and they are also part of this Āśram, our today’s program part. They are around the world, on different timetables and in different settings, but they are listening everywhere. So I request to all singers, as long as they sing, they will devote all bhaktas, and those who know or who don’t know, they are constantly listening to this bhajan, how beautiful they are singing, lovely bhajan, beautiful bhajan, and nectar of the world received.
