Mahamandaleshwar Inauguration of Swami Jasraj Puriji

Today marks the sacred installation of a foreign-born disciple as a Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, a historic first for this tradition. We begin with invocations for auspiciousness and the removal of all obstacles. This gathering celebrates the propagation of Sanātana Dharma across the world. The honoree, born abroad, has tirelessly spread Vedic culture. Such ceremonies occur to strengthen and expand a steady tradition. We acknowledge this break from precedent, as no foreigner has previously been given such sacraments or title here. This event is a divine offering within the eternal Sāṅkhya Yoga tradition of Kapila Muni. It is a day of great joy for our Dharma, seeing its growth globally. The disciple receives this honor to further the tradition's reach. We pray for his continued success in imparting pure wisdom everywhere.

"Āj is doobte sansār me, mere gur ne mera janam safal kar diyā."

"Samaya ke darpaṇ me, gur kā nām hī ratna hai; śiṣya use upahār ke rūp me pātā hai."

Filming location: Sydney, Australia

Salutations to Dīpanāthāī, who holds the lamp in her right hand, adorned with fragrant rice and flowers; I offer my respectful obeisance. May this auspicious light bring welfare, health, and wealth, and destroy the intellect of enemies. Salutations to the lamp’s flame. May all beings, those who dwell on the earth and those who inhabit the land, be free from obstacles on their paths. May all beings, including ghosts and spirits, depart in all directions. May there be no opposition to the worship performed here. Oṁ Prācyai Namaḥ, Oṁ Avācyai Namaḥ, Oṁ Dakyai Namaḥ, Oṁ Udīcyai Namaḥ, Oṁ Antarikṣāya Namaḥ, Oṁ Deva Bhūmyai Namaḥ. Pavitraḥ pavitro vā sarvāvasthāṁ gato'pi vā, yaḥ smaret puṇḍarīkākṣaṁ sa bāhyābhyantaraḥ śuciḥ. Pūro to pūro to... pūro to... The entire... Ācāryajī Mahārāj, with our unwavering faith, the venerable and steadfast seat of the revered Ācāryajī Mahārāj, the great Mahāmaheśvara Vind Śrī, the entire council of the Pañca Pañcāyatī Mahānirvāṇī Khāṛā along with all the office bearers of the Khāṛās, dear brothers of the orphanage, and Mātṛ Śakti—today is indeed a very... It is a day of joy. Our revered Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Svāmī Mahīśvarānanda Purījī Mahārāj, who has not only upheld the honor of Indian culture throughout the country and the entire world but also promoted our culture abroad, is none other than this Svāmījī, Jasrājpūrījī. He was born in Sydney in Australia, and Sydney itself is in Australia, which is a very beautiful, neat, and clean country—I have been there many times. According to what is said around the world, Australia is the best country. And in such a country, Svāmījī Jasrājpūrī was born, and we wish... It is our hope that not only in Australia or America, but in all continents, our culture—the Vedic culture—will be propagated. After that, our Nirvāṇa subscription will begin first with Ācārya Mahārāj Nirvāṇa Pīṭha Deśavarjī’s candra-vidhi. Now, from Śrīpañca, from Dārāgaṇī Nahāvār, from Aṭāl Khāle, from Mahārāvāṇī Mahārāvar, from Giṇrāgaṇī Mahārāj. Āj gur mere janam safal huā. Āj is doobte sansār me, mere śatru gur rakhe. Āj is doobte sansār me, mere sau gur rakhe. Śuddha pavano se, ye bāvanna varsh sūrya ke samān, śuddha pavano se, ye bāvanna varsh—are, ye bāvanna varsh—jīvon ke kāraṇa mokṣa ke hai. Aur āj is doobte sansār me, mere gur ne mera janam safal kar diyā. Rākhī, lajjā me doobte sansār me, main tumhe vinamra rākhī arpaṇ kartā hūṁ. Jāte to amothī dayā kare, milte to amothī gur samān ho; amothī, he amothī, janam janam se calī ātī hai. Āj is doobte sansār me, he gur, tumne hamārī rakṣā kī; is doobte sansār me, tum hamāre śaraṇ rahe. Samaya ke darpaṇ me, gur kā nām hī ratna hai; śiṣya use upahār ke rūp me pātā hai. Are, upahār diyā, upahār diyā. Kyā adbhut dhvani hai, kyā adbhut dhvani hai—param gur kā romāñcak śabd, mana ke svāmī, indriyo ke svāmī. Mahāprabhujī, mahātmāo ke svāmī, ne ye jñāna apane śiṣya Jasrāj Purī ko diyā. Mahātmā kā artha hai mahān ātmā. After the realization of ātmajñāna and being established in ātmajñāna, when this tradition becomes steady, it is then that such gatherings are held repeatedly for its propagation and expansion, as well as for the growth, advancement, and progress by the disciples. It is a moment of great joy because today a divine... We have anointed the Puruṣa to the position of Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara. I am sharing with you a matter of assurance: until now, in this akhāṛā, we have neither given saṁskāras to any foreigner nor made them a maṇḍaleśvara. But this time, it is happening. A foreigner is not just joining; the family is not enough—this entire bus is our family, so consider it as such. We have bestowed upon him the title of Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara. Today is a matter of great joy, a subject of immense happiness. It is only our Svāmī Mahīśvarāṇjī Mahārāj, Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara, who, even after going abroad, has propagated the Dharma of Sanātana, and that is right here before you today. Svāmī Vigyānandī Mahārājī also went to Vidisha and propagated dharma, but the work that Svāmī Mahīśvarāṇjī has done is being seen for the first time. Today, we are in the presence of Bhagavān Kapila Muni. The siddha named Kapila Muni is the source of all that is happening in this world, and its excellence belongs to the tradition of India, the eternal Vedic dharma, the Vedic scriptures in the form of śruti. But the tradition that continues uninterrupted is the Sāṅkhya Yoga of Bhagavān Kapila, that knowledge of Vedānta through which one can attain Paramātmā. From there, all paths unite; from there, Manu Mahārāj, the progenitor of mankind, and our great sage Svāmī Mahāmaṇḍale... Sarsha Mahīśvarānandjī Mahārāj made their efforts, first establishing these Manu... In this great cosmic sacrifice, the primary offering has been received by us through our Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Parama Sadguru Svāmī Mahīśvarānanda Jī Purī. And the second offering, by Parama Sadguru Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara Svāmī Mahīśvarānanda Jī in the form of Jasrājpūrījī—these divine offerings are being prepared for the divine life. I receive from Paramātmā that Svāmī Mahīśvarānand Jī will, in the same way as Jasrājjī, bestow many divine manifestations upon our Mahānirvāṇī Akhāṛā and its ācāryas, thereby fulfilling the name of being the Viśva Guru in the world. These words are something that everybody talks about but in the... Amidst everyone present here, saints who have been monks for 50 to 70 years, among all of them, someone who was born into a religion other than Hinduism—because I do not know what his religion is—has been elevated into Sanātana Dharma. And not only have we just initiated him as a disciple, but also initiated him as a monk, a swami. And today, with Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara and Śrī Pañcāyatī Mahānirvāṇī Akhāṛā, for the growth of our ācāryas in our tradition, in our tradition... In our tradition... But as a blessing from our great Nirvāṇī, the supreme ideal Śrī Gurū Mahārāj Siddha Ānāṁ Kapila Munī, and in the form of many perfected circles as multitudes of siddhas, our Mahāmaṇḍaleśvarjī Mahārāj Śrī Mahīśvānandajī Mahārāj and other siddhas... Many devotees are experiencing bliss under the protective shade of this Sanātana Dharma. They are feeling peace and tranquility. It is indeed a good day for Sanātana Dharma, a day of faith and trust... And it is once again time to bring forth this light. I humbly salute and say that in this divine space, the sacred place of Bhagavān Śrī Kapila Munijī, and with the blessings of our Pitādeśvara, the holy saints, today Svāmījī Jasrāj Purījī has received the Patābhiṣeka of Mahāmaṇḍaleśvara. God bless and protect this Sanātana Dharma. Victory! I was born in this country, but ever since I attended the great Prayāgarāj Mahākumbha Melā... Having taken the highest initiation of sannyāsa, I consider myself a child of India. I humbly and earnestly pray to the entire great circle of Īśvara that your blessings always remain upon me, so that I may continue to impart the teachings and wisdom of Sanātana Dharma in its purest form, both within the country and abroad. I offer countless prostrations and salutations to my Gurujī, the true Gurudeva, the great soul, Lāle Śrāḍ Śrī Svāmī Maheśvarānanda Gurujī. And now I pause my speech. To all, Oṁ Namo Nārāyaṇāya.
