One question

The devotee's question about Rāma arises from deep love, not ignorance. A knower asks to know more, for each hearing strengthens the heart. Hearing divine glory dispels great ignorance, which is like a formidable demon. Rāma's glory is the nourishing moonlight, and the devotee is the bird that gazes upon it all night. To remove doubt, one must listen to the sacred dialogues that reveal this truth.

"The more you hear about God, you will become stronger and stronger."

"The glory of God Rāma can remove that ignorance, which is a very dangerous Kalikā."

O Lord, I have a great doubt, a confusion. Please do your best to show me the way I can remove it. Tell me that story in detail. Introduce me, please. Who is that Rāma? Upon this request and question from the Ṛṣi Bhāradvāja, the great Yājñavalkya smiled. There are different kinds of smiling. He smiled. "Ṛṣi Bhāradvāja, you know the glory of Rāma. Though you know—you are a knower—you are becoming an unknower and asking me about Him. I know you are a great bhakta of Rāma. In your mind, in your speech, and in your deeds, everything is completely dedicated to Rāma. And you ask me, 'Who is that?' I think I understand your cleverness. I understood how clever you are. Though you know all this, you still want to know more about Him." When you love someone, you ask people, "How is he? How is she?" Again and again, one will say, "Okay, it's very fine." You ask another one, you ask her, you ask one person after another because we cannot get enough of the beloved. The more you hear about him or her, your heart becomes stronger and stronger. So, the more you hear about God, you will become stronger and stronger. Therefore, the Ṛṣi Yājñavalkya Jī smiled and said, "Ṛṣi Bhāradvāja, you know everything. I understood your cleverness. That’s why you ask me such a question. You ask in such a way, like one who is completely in ignorance. It is something like a secret police question. They know everything, but they ask you once more. You know very well, especially in your country." "Tát sunau sádr manulájí, kahú rámke kathá sunájī. Mahāmohu mahiśeṣu viśālā, rām kathā kālī kakrālā." O my brother, O my friend, my dear one, listen with concentration, with respect, with adoration. Listen. I will definitely tell you the glory of God, Rāma. The ignorance is something very great. It is like a great Maheśa Surakṣasa, and the glory of God Rāma can remove that ignorance, which is a very dangerous Kalikā. The glory of God Rāma is like the light of the moon. There is one bird, a night bird, which enjoys the moonlight. It is a small white bird, like what you call an owl. But there is another one, a small white one. The whole night, it is constantly gazing at the moonlight. It gains love, the light, the radiance. So God Rāma is that moon, and the saint, the bhakta, the śānta, the yogī, they are like that bird; that whole night they are nourishing from that. But the same kind of doubt Pārvatī once had, then Śiva explained to her in great detail. And Śiva explains everything in great detail. Now I will tell you something according to my knowledge. I will tell you the dialogue between Umā and Śiva, Pārvatī and Śiva, which removed her doubts. Listen now, and you also will be able to remove your doubts, and you will realize the peace in your heart. Thank you.
