Karma is the Cause and the Result

The soul is beyond gender and form. The soul itself has no attributes; in the astral being, there is no man and no woman. To call God "He" is a mistake, as God is universal and without form. In Sanātana Dharma, women and men are equally respected as souls. Life is present everywhere, even in plants, which feel as humans and animals do. All life is dear, and God resides in the heart as formless love and compassion. The cycle of birth and death, driven by karma, is a dynamic process of action and reaction. This is called rebirth in spirituality and recycling in modern terms. Among 8.4 million creatures, human intellect is emphasized for its limitless and flexible nature.

"God is without form—universal, cosmic, without form. Who is 'he'?"

"Life is everywhere. Life is dear to everyone. And God is residing in our heart."

I do not know if it is true, but I have heard that some religions claim women have no soul. I ask myself: how can they live without a soul? The soul itself has no attributes. In the astral being, there is no man and no woman. It is also a mistake that we call God "He," who has no form. God is without form—universal, cosmic, without form. Who is "he"? When there is no form, how can you say "he"? You could say "she" also, why not? But the entire language is modified in that way: always "he, he, he." Sometimes you do not say "he," but you can say "he." So there is a problem. Therefore, you know, there were many, many holy women—great, great Divine Mothers. So in Sanātana Dharma, in Hindu Dharma, women and men are equally respected as souls. That is why there are many, many holy ladies, what you call holy or guru or teacher. In the Vedas, it is said that not only humans but even plants have their life. If you kill plants, they feel exactly as if you kill a human or an animal. This has now been proved by some instruments. If you enter a room with many plants and bring water and fertilizer, the plants are happy. If you go with scissors and a knife, the plants tremble. There is a very sensitive machine, and once it was demonstrated on television; I saw it too. They had baskets full of potatoes in a kitchen. The cook went with a knife and took one potato in hand to cut. He still had not touched the knife to the potato, but the potato was screaming—something like when you want to kill a human and the human pleads, "Please don’t do it, please, please." Then he took the same potato and put it back in the field. It did not sound like laughing or "thank you," but a very pleasant sound came from the potato. The result of this video was that for the next few days, nobody bought potatoes. The potato chip companies and all such companies were angry. So life is everywhere. Life is dear to everyone. And God is residing in our heart. That God has no form. If He has a form, then it is love—compassion. So I think universally, then I think of all uniting, and I transfer this union, this unity, into my heart and open my heart full of compassion. I try to feel the feeling of unity towards everyone. Everyone needs love. Can you imagine if in a whole country there is such happiness and love and appreciation, how nice it is? Can you imagine that in every country such happiness, love, recognition, and acceptance reigns? Take one example: Christmas day, Christmas evening. All are happy: children, father, mother, grandparents. There are a few who are not happy because today nobody found them, nobody congratulated them. Someone remembers last Christmas because they lost their dear one, and that person is not with them this Christmas. These things happen; it is life—birth and death. Who is born will die, and who died probably will be born. Why? Probably because some are liberated, and some are still not. It is karma. Karma is the principle; it is called the cause, action, and result of the fruits. Anything we do has a cause, a reason. Without reason, nothing will happen. When you act, every action will have a reaction. That reaction will be the fruit of your action, and every reaction will again cause an action. So it is a dynamical movement in creation: action, reaction, action, reaction. We want, or we need, someone to put that dynamo off. We need someone to turn off the dynamo. But who? Only the Divine. Only God. And He doesn’t want to put it off; it is His creation. Therefore, coming and going is birth and rebirth. In modern language, science has given a name to this birth and rebirth. In spirituality, we call it rebirth. In this technological, materialistic world, we call it recycling—and that is very interesting. We call it Janma-Maraṇaka Chakra, the cycle, the circle of rebirth and death. So it is a rewinding, going and coming. We call it rebirth, and they call it recycling. Again, you are reborn—coming, going, coming, going, the same process. There are 8.4 million different creatures created by the Creator, divided into three categories: creatures which live in water, creatures which live on earth, and creatures which live in the air. All together, these are the different kinds of creatures: 8.4 million. One of them from the 8.4 million is the human. Humans are more emphasized due to the buddhi, or intellect. The human intellect can be trained; it is limitless. But the human intellect is also very flexible at the same time.
