Consequences depend on actions

The core mistake is celebrating a master's image while refusing to follow their direct command. A master with back pain ordered his disciple to step on him. The disciple refused, citing the master's holy body and his own sinful impurity, rejecting all practical solutions. The master concluded the disciple would not obey the Guru Vakya. We make the same error with spiritual figures, venerating their image while ignoring their teachings like "Thou shalt not kill." We fabricate narratives from our own weakness, desire, ambition, or ego. We suffer life after life due to such mistakes. There is no divine guarantee of human rebirth; the only universal law is karma: "Jaisā karegā, vaisā bharegā"—as you act, so you will receive. This life is given to correct ourselves. We must follow the Guru's word precisely; only then comes the Guru's grace, and liberation is under that grace.

"You will only celebrate the photo of the master, but not follow what the master said."

"Jaisā karegā, vaisā bharegā"—whatever you will do, according to that you will get back.

There was a master who had back pain. He told his disciple, "I have back pain; step on my body." The disciple said, "No, Master, my Lord. You are a holy body, and I should step on you with my dirty feet? It is impossible, Master." The master said, "Then go and wash your feet and step on my back, because I am in great pain." The disciple replied, "No, Master. The dirt of my feet can never be washed away; even Jesus would have to wash my feet." So the master said, "Then put a blanket on my back and step on that." The disciple still refused, saying, "No, my Lord. That is a holy body; I am a sinner. I cannot step on this holy body." The master then said, "Okay, I understand. You will not follow the words, the Guru Vakya. You will only celebrate the photo of the master, but not follow what the master said." We have the photo of Jesus, but we do not follow "Thou shalt not kill." We have the image of Jesus, but we do not listen to what he says. There we make a mistake, because there is a difference between what we do and what we speak. Therefore, we should not create our own stories because of our own weakness, our own desires, our own ambition, or ego. We should not fabricate narratives to cover our own ego, desires, weaknesses, or ambitions. One may have the ambition to become a minister, yet speak of wanting to serve the country and do good—only empty words, empty sentences. Thus, throughout the journey of the entire universe, from one birth to another, we will suffer time and again because of certain mistakes. Therefore, we must try to correct them now. In this life, we do not know if in the next life we will be born as a human. There is no permanent agreement with God guaranteeing we will always be born human; God gave no such guarantee. It is according to destiny, according to karma. They asked God, "What does the guarantee speak from? What does the guarantee say?" God said everything in one sentence. In one sentence, he said the knowledge of the entire universe is contained. He said the knowledge about the whole universe is in one sentence, and that one sentence is called: "Jaisā karegā, vaisā bharegā. Jaisā karegā, vaisā bharegā." That is all. It means: "Jaisā karegā"—whatever you will do, "vaisā bharegā"—according to that you will get back. You will suffer the consequences which depend on your actions. That is the guarantee. So this life is given to us to correct ourselves again. Therefore, understand and follow the Guru Vakya. If he said step, then step; that is it. Guru Seva, Guru Vakya. And then there is Guru Kṛpā, and then Guru Kṛpā comes. Liberation is under the Guru-kṛpā. Liberation is under the Guru-kṛpā; liberation is under the Guru-kṛpā.
